The only knock is that the crank is in the right only. Left handers will have to spin the bow around. Lumenok has a version of the Rhino nock out now. 👍
Speaking as a lefty who owns a couple Excals (350LE and 340Mag) i use the Charger EX on both and even tho you can use either left or right, i find using it on the right to be more natural (holding the stock with my left and cranking with the right). As always though, your mileage may vary! 🤙

I shoot BE 18" with the Flat lumenock. Calculated at 450grs, Actual 438grs. The only reason I would ever change would be to have an internal crank.

You can shoot regular flat nocks with it, you just don't get the capture feature doing so. Guy on the official Excalibur forum made a tutorial replacing the batteries in the Beacon nocks. Just as easy as doing in Lumenoks (just not officially published info by Excalibur).
I agree 100% on using the regular flat nocks. I always check my arrow before I shoot and verify that its fully seated. One should never rely on the safety systems as a first defense

When you go higher draw and narrower would it not stand to reason that you need too change something some where in the projectile too?
@brucelewis I’ve never seen such a problem with cranks for what you’ve mentioned. The crossbows I have with cranks allow you to securely store the handle on the bow with no rattle.
Loved the video, Rich! I am curious about your thoughts on the stars and such. I have a KI Burner 415 that has those stars and lots of rubber on the limbs. Wondering if you might void the warranty if you were to try and remove any of those things?
Only Killer Instinct can answer that question about the warranty, and if it's part of the design I would not remove them unless you were going to increase the arrow weight substantially
You kind of hit the nail right on the head! You can't decock with it, and it clicks. In addition to that, it's extremely heavy. I think it's made of cast iron. Not kidding! Furthermore it doesn't even have as good a reduction as the charger cranks. Genevieve was unable to crank her crossbow with it. It was an afterthought, a rush to Market to accommodate new high draw weight Limbs and it was quickly discontinued as it should have been as soon as they came out with something better. I know crank expert, as you know, but I'm pretty sure anybody who has used a different crank does not prefer the C2 LOL
@@Deathbybunjiewell, sir, you very well can decock with that crank as I have done it many times. I will say that the handle is quite small and using it to decock a bow isn’t the safest thing in the world. It’s made out of aluminum.
@@charlesbeaver5665 If it's not safe it shouldn't be done. You could wreck something costing yourself a bunch of money or seriously hurt yourself in the process. Just because you can drift a 5.0 Mustang GT and roll tire smoke for a half a block doesn't mean you should do it.
Light for sure but a bit underpowered by 2024 standards, I was shooting that speed in 2010. It can be done, but when you can add 100fps for the same or less money with a modern crossbow, I'd take that...the benefits in penetration and deer not jumping the string are huge for me. Just my thoughts.
Nice video. Can you still change the string on your own? Since the trigger box moves to the string, and, there isn't a groove for a rope. I don't know much about it, but it seems it may prove difficult.
G'day mate thanks for the video, last time I spoke to you i brought the tenpoint nitro rdx now 7 years later and ive dropped deer , pigs , goats and foxs with it and not a single issue , 4 strings later i think i spoke to you about updating it to the 505 im so glad i didn't because ive ordered the trx 515 i would have been pissed off buying the 505 then the new 515 comes out but i was looking at the revx but i just feel excalibur and way behind the game and I really would love to have a recurve and the 515 .. they need to fire up and get with it i just feel they could do way better but all im thinking about now is getting my 515 , tenpoint have blown ravin out of the park .. thanks Bunj stay safe mate
Rich, I like heavy arrows. I also wish all manufacturers used the same weight arrows, for comparison purposes. That said a recurve bow by design has less strain on release than a compound bow because it has less weight at the limb tip. AHB.
I think Excalibur crossbows will never be the fastest for the same reason traditional recurve bows are not as fast as compounds. They are simpler and easier to maintain that the competitors and when you don't have an archery range close by its a very good choice. I have the matrix series Excaliburs 380 and 360 and am quite satisfied with their performance. Like you I prefer rope cocking so I'll stick with what I have....
Rich looking at purchasing new arrows and heavier broadheads. Are you still hunting with the zombie slayers and if so are you satisfied with them? Thanks for your informative videos
Thanks rich for the reply. Nobody talks about them and I thought you was hunting with them so I wanted to reach out and get a review by true hunter. Thanks again rich for your video's and your helpful advice.
I haven't seen one of these in person, but based on the pictures and the information they give on the website, the anti-dryfire system on this xbow is not new. It is the ceasefire rhino nock system. They launched this tech on the Micro 380 from 2022. I have one and it came with those same arrows. This new one probably has the same little detent ball underneath the scope rail where the arrow goes. When an arrow is nocked and fully seated against the string, the detent is pressed by the arrow. This unlocks the trigger and helps keep the arrow in place against the string. YOU DO NOT need to use the rhino nocks with this system. Excalibur just wants you to buy their pro flight arrows with their special nocks. I use the same lighted nocks that Genevieve has on her arrows. The Nufletch Ignitors and they work fine. Overall, I think this new bow looks great. If I wasnt happy with my 380 I would be considering it. I might buy a crank though for when Im doing repeated shots for sighting in or practice. However, I like the small footprint of the rope for hunting. Just stick it in your pocket, Kingdom of Bunjie style!
Hey was wondering if you could possibly do a review on ek archery research crossbows recently bought a desert hawk 225 lb draw weight 330fps recurve crossbow
@@harveyfamily1281 you can also buy weight extenders too for crossbow as well they thread on like a field point and you just stick your broadhead on that. 3 rivers or Lancaster sells them.
I am a newbie. I shot at a deer with my micro extreme and the arrow must have hit the scapula. It bent the blade on the mechanical broadhead and there was no blood on the arrow. It fell right beneath the deer. The deer was bleeding but got away. Now I am thinking it might be from my 250-grain arrow with 100 grain broadhead. I have the rhino nocks so I can't buy new arrows, but do you think I should use a 150 grain broadhead? It made me sick it was a 30-yard shot and I was aiming for the vitals.
Yeah 150 head for sure fixed would have passed through but you really should consider heavier bolts. There is no momentum in light speed and 100 grains is way too thin to do anything.
Hi, congratulations for the videos and the channel, I'm writing to you from Italy I'm new to hunting with arrows, I wanted to ask you, based on your experience, how many meters a wild boar shot in the heart or lungs will travel before it is found again my second question is could a headshot with a classic shooting tip work?
I think you could get the Oracle on there, but yeah it would be a little tough to stick a god-a-grip on there. It's not straight...but I bet if you played with it you could get it to stick to it though.
First thought, got to wonder if the big buck crossbow people are actually listening/interviewing real hunters. Doesn't seem like they are. Not giving people what they're looking for. Simply put. Second, I've yet to run across a crank I like. Way too long to crank and too much effort. Actually don't mind using the rope, plus it helps keep you in better shape. Lol. Third, not seeing a big difference between the big buck crossbows or the middle range boys. I know from handling some of them, quality is better in certain areas. But overall, has never been enough to make me spring for them. I have a Barnett and a Killer Instinct. Actually very happy with both. I use both of them in different situations. Meaning, one's better in one situation than the other. Be at hunting from a tree or ground blind, type of thing. The Barnett was easier to get used to. It's so smooth & accurate. Killer instinct has more power, but the trigger takes time to get used to. Almost like a double pole type of thing. I wonder how many different crossbows guys/gals have? And wonder how long they have them for? Do people switch out every two, three years? Or are they loyal to what they purchased for 10 years or so? Just a thought!😮 This is neither here or there. I played back in old video of yours, and you got that Elmer Fud look going on. All starryeyed, with the curly bushy hair going on. Too funny! Now I see you trimmed down. Not just because you're getting older but you're losing it like the rest of us. (Opps, sorry). Or most of us. I just couldn't help but laugh at the beginning of the video. Good stuff. Thanks, I needed that at the time. Too funny! Such a character!😅 Almost always enjoy your stuff. But always appreciate what you put into anything you put out.😊

Thanks to Rich's informative videos I have increased the weight of my arrows and haven't had a problem yet.
@@Deathbybunjie because of its shorter draw I am sure you can lower it a bit you definitely want to be around 600 ish for sure.
@@ShooterMcNut yes they do because when they bought it from Bill with that ideology thats was proven they changed things. Bill original crossbows
36” wide unstrung
17.5” inch rail
20” bolt
350 grains minimum
Package came with boltcutters 150 grains and Eastons firbolts with a 150 grain head you were at 415 grains. 2X the average draw weight that was 200-225 lbs draw weight.
When you go higher draw and narrower would it not stand to reason that you need too change something some where in the projectile too?
Thanks Rich, I appreciate the help. I'm going to switch from the rage hypodermic. All hail Bunjie!
What do you think about the mission 320? It’s real quiet. I know that and I like that like to hear your thoughts on one.
320 fps? That's not fast enough for me really in this modern era...
Cranks are nice but i think it ads weight to the bow and gives it extra things to carry in the field that will rattle
@brucelewis
I’ve never seen such a problem with cranks for what you’ve mentioned. The crossbows I have with cranks allow you to securely store the handle on the bow with no rattle.
My recurve crossbow is rated at 340fps but with my 650gr bolt I’m getting mid 270’s.
Rich were u been dieing to see more videos.hope all is well
How do I get some of your shirts I got y'all books I'm a big fan.keep me posted please and hope all is well
Are u ok my friend waiting on more videos hope u and your family are doing well good bless hope to here from u soon
Rich..why, in your word, NO with the C2 crank?
For cranking purposes (not de cocking) it’s simple and removable. Loud? (clicking when cranking) Yes.
@charlesbeaver5665 if you like it, keep using it 💯
@@charlesbeaver5665
If it's not safe it shouldn't be done. You could wreck something costing yourself a bunch of money or seriously hurt yourself in the process. Just because you can drift a 5.0 Mustang GT and roll tire smoke for a half a block doesn't mean you should do it.
What do you think of the Mag Air bows?
Light for sure but a bit underpowered by 2024 standards, I was shooting that speed in 2010. It can be done, but when you can add 100fps for the same or less money with a modern crossbow, I'd take that...the benefits in penetration and deer not jumping the string are huge for me. Just my thoughts.
Nice video. Can you still change the string on your own? Since the trigger box moves to the string, and, there isn't a groove for a rope. I don't know much about it, but it seems it may prove difficult.
A great question, and I hope you can latch the trigger box on to the string changing Aid and draw it back
G'day mate thanks for the video, last time I spoke to you i brought the tenpoint nitro rdx now 7 years later and ive dropped deer , pigs , goats and foxs with it and not a single issue , 4 strings later i think i spoke to you about updating it to the 505 im so glad i didn't because ive ordered the trx 515 i would have been pissed off buying the 505 then the new 515 comes out but i was looking at the revx but i just feel excalibur and way behind the game and I really would love to have a recurve and the 515 .. they need to fire up and get with it i just feel they could do way better but all im thinking about now is getting my 515 , tenpoint have blown ravin out of the park .. thanks Bunj stay safe mate
Good stuff, good luck out there!
@Deathbybunjie the paddocks here in Oz have rivers of blood running out of them I take no prisoners !!!
I enjoy your videos. I have chosen a new old stock G340 as my bunjie.
Awesome good luck!
I think I'm first for once! 😊
Rich, I like heavy arrows. I also wish all manufacturers used the same weight arrows, for comparison purposes. That said a recurve bow by design has less strain on release than a compound bow because it has less weight at the limb tip. AHB.
AHB indeed!
The Matrix series is historically one of the best I think
Is changing the string by yourself an issue with the Rev?
Probably still can be done the same way but that high draw weight...eek lol
Rich looking at purchasing new arrows and heavier broadheads. Are you still hunting with the zombie slayers and if so are you satisfied with them? Thanks for your informative videos
Love the Zombies 💯
Thanks rich for the reply. Nobody talks about them and I thought you was hunting with them so I wanted to reach out and get a review by true hunter. Thanks again rich for your video's and your helpful advice.
What do you think of the barnett wildcat recurve? Not sure I can swing the budget for an Excalibur
ua-cam.com/video/vMxWgK5nbp4/v-deo.htmlsi=Y1b0jYHel9FA5vgc
Oh yeah love the ropes, but can't rope cock the revx 😕
I'd buy the supressa 400 if I bought a nother.think I'll keep my 308 short

Hi Rich , just wondering which one of the swhacker broadheads you use in your killer instinct.
251 is my favorite but they're now just making 243 which are the same except for the color. 3" all the way for me!
Happy easter buddy
Hey was wondering if you could possibly do a review on ek archery research crossbows recently bought a desert hawk 225 lb draw weight 330fps recurve crossbow
Off topic a little Rich, but does Genevieve (sorry if I misspelled her name) make those hoof hangars like what Bunjie 1 is hanging on?
Yes, and you spelled her name correctly!
@@Deathbybunjie Messaged you!
I think you would have trouble getting 500 grain out of a 16 1/2 arrow. I use 110 grain inserts with spinal taps and a 150 grain head. I'm at 425
2219s duravanes dvx 110 brass 150 head 542 grains just did the math on it, you can also go higher in the heads.
Don’t the Spynal Tapps have stainless steel inserts all different weights to make the arrow whatever weight you want?
@@harveyfamily1281 you can also buy weight extenders too for crossbow as well they thread on like a field point and you just stick your broadhead on that.
3 rivers or Lancaster sells them.
Wyvern creations has some I bet
Thank you sir@@chrisruzsa2798
Hi, congratulations for the videos and the channel, I'm writing to you from Italy
I'm new to hunting with arrows, I wanted to ask you, based on your experience, how many meters a wild boar shot in the heart or lungs will travel before it is found again
my second question is could a headshot with a classic shooting tip work?
Lungs and heart, best shot. NOT headshot. I've seen 0 to 80 yard bloodtrails on good double lung shots on hogs.
thank you very much for the answer, last question
How do you price broadheads?
They are quite expensive unfortunately
@salvatoresittinieri3791 swhacker...I love them, worth the money imo
Agreed. That high of draw weight with a 350g arrow like what? We hunting fawns now? 😊
That bow with a stock arrow will blow through any deer you shoot at to ARCHERY ranges easy
@@neabowhunters8107 of course it will haha
@@Koopwins
Of course it will if a 308fps bow will do it a 400fps will do it easier. Common sense!

I think I need one.
can u mount a orical X on it ? Also of it needs GotAGrip cheek pad, I don’t see how that could happen.
I think you could get the Oracle on there, but yeah it would be a little tough to stick a god-a-grip on there. It's not straight...but I bet if you played with it you could get it to stick to it though.
Love your videos bud hey can do review on new Barnett hyper raptor crossbow
Excalibur gonna have to do better than that before I upgrade from my bulldog 330. For that kind of $ I’d be looking at Tenpoint.
If you’d look at tenpoint may as well go scorpyd. Lifetime warranty and same quality customer service as excalibur. Just my 2 cents.
Just a thought!😮
This is neither here or there.
But always appreciate what you put into anything you put out.😊
Okay Rich ya done messed up. The vertical bow is getting shelved. My son saw your channel on my phone and said I need to stop playing around and hunt with the crossbow so I’m binging your videos. 😂what did I agree to? Lol

Lord of the bunjie. I have an opportunity to grab a excalibur wolverine 40th edition for a good price. Do you think they are worth it.
Lower end of the speeds I'd like to see but I like that camo! If the price is right and you like it though, go for it!
@@Deathbybunjie yes the camo and the wood grips is what's doing it for me. It will be a backup to my swat x1. This will be only my third season crossbow hunting I been watching your videos since I started. Your advice has been good so far 😂

Craziness everywhere 💯
I think a person should get a bow he or she can afford to buy and go have fun in the woods and hunt
💯
Stupid to sell a crossbow with that much energy and such a lite arrow. I would rather the company would put arrows thats worth hunting with. We are going to have to buy them anyways when I see the price of the bow I don't consider arrows being part of the package.I bet the vast majority of crossbow buyers are buying for hunting and not competition.
The prices on these crossbows has gotten ridiculous, inflation aside the prices do not reflect the quality or technology you're getting.
They're only expensive if you buy them.
to expensive for me..
Ye olde Excalibur
i have the 340 micromag.......shooting 318 fps with a 390 gr total bolt weight......i cant see paying $850.00 more to achieve 380 fps with the same bolt weight......that is not a substantial gain in momentum for that $$$$$$$....just sayin....THE RIXTER
I can tell you the increase in speed is well worth it (in terms of ducking the string) having been on both sides of that. Also keep in mind you can get even faster crossbows for a lot less money lol
Junk Excalibur is junk. 14 ofourteen of us go up to Pennsylvania hunting every year. We all shoot excaliburs. Every single one of us has put 3 different sets of limbs on 4 different models.I was sitting in my tree standand I heard tink the limb was Delaminating Yes , they did make good for it every time But it was not once not twice Buy a raven they are bulletproof
Why dont you get into regular bows. A crossbow is just a shitty gun. With archery you can hone your skills
