Welcome to GamingSins, where we nitpick the hell out of video games.
The Walking Dead Season One by Telltale Games may have been 2012's Game of the Year...but that doesn't mean it's free from sin! We had a lot of fun making this one. Lots of playthrough's and different decisions were made. Tears were shed, blood was spilled, and a whole lot of skulls were cracked. Prepare yourself for the longest GamingSins video to date.

Katja’s suicide always made sense to me. It was hinted at since that convo with her on Hershel’s farm. She was so appalled at Kenny’s behavior towards other survivors even then, and when she asked about how Larry died, she clearly was dismayed by the outcome. Whether or not you decide to tell her, she suspects that Kenny did it, and that his reasoning wasn’t justifiable(to her). Over time she saw the monster he was becoming. I think duck was the only reason she held on for so long, and when she lost him nothing else mattered. The apocalypse brought out a side of Kenny that she wasn’t willing to deal with, and the state of the world seemed bleak as well. She’s a good example of a strong friend/family member that you never know is struggling until it’s too late.

He lied to give himself time.
I always assumed that the bear trap with no release was by the brothers, to get more humans.
I thought it had no release so if a zombie got caught in one they couldn't move and no one could left them out

It's implied that they would put the bear traps in the forest, in which, someone would get stuck and the brothers would probably knock them out and then do their thing.

Edit: he was also in a tense nervous situation so rational thinking isn't always there.

Yeah but your relationships with characters change. The second game might have multiple endings, but all the characters treat you the same no matter how you act towards them. Here if you're kind to lilly, she's not angry at you. Same with kenny

Take the clothes from the car or not, the stranger will accuse you of stealing
Characters will talk about your choice or the same fate for the choice you make will be the same. Like for example in this season if you save Doug or Carley they will be shot by Lily either way because of Ben. Cut off the bite? Lee will still die. If you cut off the mans leg in the bear trap or don't, that black haired teen or the halfed legged man will turn into a walker and try to eat Katjaa. Go against stealing the supplies? The man will still accuse you of stealing. See? your choices are nothing.
The "Clementine's cuteness" parts made me laugh so much, I love season 1 Clem

I would argue that there were a lot of signs that Katja was cracking... Firstly, she can't emotionally handle the death of whichever dude you save in the back of the truck when they're at the motel. Also, if you pull her aside to talk about being a convicted killer, she asks what happened with Kenny in the meat locker when he killed Larry. If you tell her the truth, she gets SUPER freaked out. Clearly she was not meant for this world, so yeah, there actually was some foreshadowing to her death if you pick the right choices for it

@Christopher Harris At 1:24, when Lee says “That doesn’t look good”, the windshield is smashed. Everything was flying all over the place during the crash, so the glass could’ve made it to the back. Anyway, the brown gate thing separating Lee from the cop is broken and jutting out too, so he could’ve gotten hurt that way.
Windshields are made from laminated safety glass which usually does not break that way, it stays together until it completely breaks off from the vehicle in one piece. While the cop being thrown out through the front would make a hole in it, there's no way Lee would've gotten hurt from it. The safety steel mesh cage looks bent out of shape with metal bars sticking out, but it also did not seem that way before Lee passed out, and he also did not seem to move around the back seat that much to cut his leg against it.
A lot of the first sins don’t make sense, like when lee drops the shotgun, he didn’t know it was the apocalypse, as in every Walking Dead universe, zombie media doesn’t exist, also the “haha comic book inside reference” is because this takes place during the comics universe

We are only doing it because theese people are hiding things from the group and not telling the truth about it, suggesting this place wasn't safe either way. Besides they don't only have that generator, they got more of them specific to each section of the dairy, so turning 1 of them off wouldn't be a bog deal at all;

30:08 If Kenny only worried about himself he wouldn't help Lee after Larry punches him in the face in episode 1, he wouldn't help Lee while Danny was attacking him on episode 2 and he wouldn't have risked his life trying to save Ben after he falls into the alley from the roof/Getting the radio that falls inside the building;
33:40 While Lee and Clementine are walked through the herd you can ctually see the store a couple of meters inside of the sidewalk. It wasn't that far at all;
Just to clarify, I'm not against theese types of videos at all. Of course that every game as it's sins, but you at least need to provide the correct info based on the facts, and to do that, analyze the game better.

Mark and Lee werent being loud at all, they barely talked actually, and theres no way Andy couldve heard them... So then the fence turned on out of nowhere, I think Andy did try to kill them.

At 7:50, when Larry threatens to expose Lee's "secret" to the group, my Lee had actually told every single person at the pharmacy that he'd committed murder. When Larry said that, at first, I was really confused because everyone already knew.
I'm not sure. That part of the dialogue happens no matter what. I'd literally told everyone there, even Larry and Clementine that I had murdered my wife, and then Larry threatens to tell everybody even though they already know. It's just a dialogue flaw.

I don't remember entirely how I did it, but I was basically just trying to be a jerk to everyone but Kenny. Kenny was put above everyone and somehow, if I talked to everyone enough, I was able to tell everyone at the pharmacy about my past. I'll have to replay it if you guys want extreme details.
You can't tell everyone at the pharmacy, it is only episode 3 if you have Carley saved. You just...can't.

That’s why they have no release weapon because the cannibal family ALTERED them so they can’t get out
But the release mechanism on a bear trap is usually just compressing the spring that makes it tighten so still doesn't make any sense.
It's sorda like a mousetrap if you've ever used one of those it doesn't have any kind of specialty piece that makes it release, you just open it.
I guess the spirit of his sin was technically wrong because he was wondering why anyone would take the completely fictional release latch off a bear trap when that was pretty implicit
Honestly kind of stupid to hunt with a bear trap in a zombie apocalypse as anything you get human or otherwise unless it's an actual bear is just going to be eaten by zombies long before you get to it

In defense of the altered bear trap I think we can assume it was the St. John’s or the bandits (my money is on the St. John’s though) it’s a really cruel way to die and also keeps the food alive or keeps them away. We’re never explicitly told but I think it’s pretty heavily implied

For the sin where Marks legs get served for dinner. The guy you leave in the bear trap was originally going to be the dinner. Mark was originally suppose to be killed by the bandits instead of wounded.

The word itself may exist, but the genre does not. The word zombie did not always mean undead, flesh eating human like how the genre portrays modern zombies. It originally meant the reanimation of a corpse through witchcraft.

It is a Telltale rule for some reason. Saying that you can't say zombie.
Budderguy I think the word zombie was supposed to exist in this game. I have proof. Lee said it in episode one twice, there's no way that dave fennoy accidentally said that. And in episode two while you're trying to free the teacher from the bear trap, you actually have the option to talk to Ben three times. In the second time that you talk to him, Lee will say the word zombie. What's interesting is that on that conversation, Ben's voice is different, it's probably his old VA.
The game is in the same universe as the comic series and Robert Kirkman said that zombie movies or “culture” never existed before the outbreak so Lee saying zombie was a mistake

Kenny is the #1 trouble maker in the game. He is hostile to every new character, doesn't give a shit if infected people have to be killed but completely loses it if his own family / friends must be put down, insists on his stupid plan, insists on doing pointless searches because his stupid plan demands it, is an ungrateful bitch if someone else helps him / his plan, gets drunk and lets Clementine wander off, won't help Lee find Clementine for her sake if Lee is an asshole (but in Season 2 he's like "Clem, honey, I missed you!"), etc., etc....
In short, he is self-centered and only worries about himself or his close friends. At the slightest sign of problem he completely loses it and shouts around. He never comes up with useful plans or solutions but insists on doing stupid shit that won't work anyway (*cough* season2).
If he were to be beaten instead of Lee, he'd insist that others help him and carry him around. If Lee gets bitten he immediately wants to murder him (even though he's still consicous), trying to make it sound reasonable.
And Ben is my favorite character, did that keep 90% of people hating him? No.. No it didn't.
