Well, I think this might be the most fun we've had in making a GamingSins video to date. This game is amazing and a must play if you're horror fans like us. But as usual, every game commits a sin and this one is no exception. Clichés. LOTS of clichés.

They do have a weird way to explain that in the game, you can find a magazine that Hannah had that said to get the guy you like to notice was to do something wild, and she drew a picture of her tattoo on it and its meant to imply that thats why she ran outside, still a bit silly though

@@jeremiah9088 Then you go to cabin near the Funicular. Or the remote cabin that is isolated and like a 45 min walk away. Seeing as there are literally no wendigo's (besides the weaker/dumber variants) until those sisters there is nothing to fear during the walk. Also her running that far away and getting herself off a cliff? And surviving the fall and resorting to cannibalism?
I mean, sometimes people need a walk or something, what wrong about it is that she run away a long distance. It would make more sense if she was staying outside the cabin or hide behind close tree. She wasn’t scear off like a little kid, she was maked fan of, so i doupt she would run so far away.

To be fair specifically to Chris and Sam, Chris is passed out drunk with Josh, that's why he's never seen the video. And Sam wasn't going along with the prank, she was calling out to Hannah around the lodge, probably to find and warn her before the prank went down. Neither of them actively participated in the prank, and Sam was actively trying to stop it. This has been my TedTalk.
Their will still be assholes that will try and demonize the two of them.
Those are the only people that Josh is really friends with. He actually communicates with them on some normal level. Also Sam isn't in the dollhouse which Josh wouldn't have known but I digress.
@@FoxyChariot he might have known she wasn't there since he somehow had albeit IMPOSSIBLE footage of them doing the prank but yeah since that footage exists and was used by him he probably knew she wasn't involved.
Tbh, Sam's attempts at helping Hannah were pretty half-assed, when they were so-called "best friends". If Sam really didn't want the prank to happen, then why not follow Mike and make sure it didn't succeed? Or if she's so charitable and brave, she could've searched for Hannah together with Beth. If Beth or Josh had been in Sam's position, they definitely would not have let the prank go ahead. There's a REASON why Sam was let in on the prank... she clearly lacked the spine or loyalty to do much about it.

I think adrenaline could have let him survive as he does find a coat pretty soon.

Im from portugal and we have a place that snows a lot and its rly cold (for us) and i was in the cabbin waitting for my mom and sister to come when i got the call that my sister fell while snowboarding and passed out i ran there while on t-shirt and only felt the cold when the paramedics arrived , the adrenaline "protected me" my sister went to the hospital and i got beat by my mom for leaving the cabbin without the coat😂😂

Also, I'd imagine that it's a lot harder to hunt a Wendigo while you're also trying to watch after some fairly helpless young adults. His attention was more divided than usual when the Makkapitew got him. Not to mention, he seemed to prefer hunting the Wendigos in enclosed spaces where they couldn't come at him from as many angles. (Hence the traps in the sanatorium and the wards and spells in the mine.)
I’m Ak but people call me a Queen No, if you watch the video when you get all the totems, you learn that the Makkipattew was the one who chased Beth and Hannah to the edge and after they fell, he burned it to death
The game seems to imply that they are actually kids. There was the line about no parents being around. Granted, it is hard to remember when all the actors are in their late 20s.

Ugh, I'm so sick of watching videos about this game where people are under the impression that Sam and Chris had anything to do with this prank! If you're paying even the slightest bit of attention at the beginning of the game you'll realize that Sam is trying to keep Hannah from walking right into the trap set for her & Chris and Josh are passed out on the counter in the kitchen, where Beth is.

i mean it's acceptable for those jumpscares in the house to be lame, because it was part of the Josh's prank, so it should work like predictable jumpscares
The truth: Until Dawn was actually perfect and had no mistakes considering the year of its publishing.
Edit: Don't take this too seriously. Nothing is perfect, I am just praising this game as much as I can.

YES! I've played & watched play throughs of lots of different video games (retro & new, console & PC, indie & AAA), and this is honestly in my top 20 (top 10 for horror). Such a fantastic game! It's fun, it's scary, it doesn't take itself seriously, but is so well done in mechanics, characters and storyline, and is fantastically replayable. I mean there's lots of amazing horror games out there that are amazing on the first play through, but I'm just not that interested in playing through again (Bioshock and Outlast come to mind). But I wanted to play this game 3 times through before I started to get bored!
Also, when he says at the end there's no way this game has a future in video games, I think he was wrong. There have been a lot of games that have similar game play styles to this (a more cinematic style) lately, than he leads us to believe. Just because it's not the future of ALL video games, doesn't mean this type of game doesn't have a clear niche in the future of video games! :)
Clow Its not true horror though. The whole point of the game is to be a cheesy slasher game, not actual horror. It fails at being a good horror game because of the insane amount of trash tier jump scares that are conmonly associated to slashers.
If you want to play a true horror game, pick up something like Resident Evil 2 remake or the 7th one.

The only thing I was annoyed was I can not sprint and u cannot choose scenes instead u hv to choose episodes which was a nightmare to get the plat but it was one of the easiest plats

2:45 I do not know how often you find yourself in rural areas but in rural areas dead spots where you can get no connection is rather common. Now take that and put yourself on the top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere whilst dealing with a heavy blizzard...yeah the only thing that cell phone is good for is being a flashlight.

Sam's bravery is what makes her adventurous. That matters more for adventurousness than curiosity i would say. Though both would make the most sense.

Imagine that the wendigo wasn’t in the mountain and that the game ended after the prank was revealed. Matt still has the possibility of falling off the mountain from the Deer, so Josh would still possibly have a death on his hands. Also there would be help coming (the cops from the radio station) and they would have to explain to the cops that it was a prank and that Matt is possibly dead
Yeah... Ironically the wendigo might've been a help to Josh in a strange twist....

it always bugged me, but the thing is that his actor actually from what I know worked on the story and was okay with the stranger dying, I think he should have died by like fighting all of them like a short of last stand short of thing, or just kept him alive which also works too.
Whether u choose to shoot the squirrel or not is actually a important choice. If u shoot it Sam will get attacked by crows, therefore banging her head and getting caught by the physco. Also the bit in the tower, u have 2 agree w emily as it can keep both of them alive. As if u try to save emily twice as the tower is falling you will die and as sliding as matt u can use the flare to block yourself dieing( which u get if u agree with emily to going to the tower) And it can stop emily from getting bitten by the wendigo. 😂 SORRY I rambled but yall need to understand the little choices are actually rlly important

you actually have to DISAGREE with Emily because if you agree, Matt will use the flare gun immediately. If you disgaree, Emily can still give you the flare gun but Matt will just put it in his pocket
But Sam getting caught by the Psycho changes NOTHING. She'll just meet up with Mike later on. Also Matt has no impact on the plot after the deer section so him having the flare gun hardly matters.

Sam and Mike aren't the hardest because you only have to do stuff to keep them alive 'till the end of the game.
Sub Zero yeah but you don't see matt until near the end either. and sam is really, mike isn't hard at all he has no DONT MOVEs but sam i find the hardest because you have to stand there for so long and you have to that at least 4 times to make her survive and each time it happens it gets more harder to do it. with Matt its just twice and very quick

Josh's whole "prank" tortures Ashley, Chris, and Sam the most, but Jess, Mike, Emily, and Matt the least, which makes no sense. Jess orchestrated the original prank, Emily approved of it, Mike agreed to be the bait, and Matt filmed it. Meanwhile, Chris was passed out, Sam tried to stop it, and the worst Ashley did was play along by hiding under the bed. I just don't understand Josh's plan. He really should have gone after Jess and Emily, (the co-conspirators), Mike (the bait), and *possibly* Matt, since he agreed to record it.
I know this is an old comment but I believe that Josh did have a plan for Mike and Jess but the wedigo taking jess and mike getting lost in the sanatorium ment that the 'plan' never activated

Coltknows This was just foreshadowing. Josh needed proof that nobody likes him. Not even his best friend. (He thinks so). He is schizophrenic. So maybe it's both. But looking at Joshs Personality and background (Game Theory did that on point), you can clearly see that he thinks that nobody wants to help him and that he looks himself as a burden to others (which is why his Psychiatrist(s) thought he has Depression instead of schizophrenia)

25:25 Except this choice actually does matter because if Matt disagrees, he gets the flare gun. Emily and Matt will both find themselves in a situation where the flare gun will save them. Emily can survive without it (suffering only a bite) but Matt will die if he does not have it (assuming he tries to save Emily twice when the fire tower collapses).

Fun fact/great attention to detail: the characters in Until Dawn that participated or had a major role in the prank have more brutal deaths, Chris who didn’t have anything to do with the prank, gets pretty quick deaths, while Matt, who had a major role in the prank, gets one of the most brutal deaths, showing that the Wendigos still have some humanity in them, as they are pissed they pulled the prank that lead to their deaths
No sin for the Lodge having electricity and them never turning on the light? Thats a Sin!

There's zero reason to say _why_ this isn't a good idea, especially when Sam keeps running around with a headlamp. In the dark, if Mike's implying the light attracts wendigo or helps them in some way, that would make her a beacon, and yet it doesn't do jack shit for them. So you're right, it is a sin.

It is implied that Sam knew about the prank before hand and chose at the last minute to try and warn Hannah.

BrainDeadBastard It's not that she chose last minute to do it. She either couldn't find Hannah (because she didn't read the note, only knew about the prank, not the location) besides, she had to get there late, or else Hannah and Beth probably wouldn't have died.

It's included in a slightly more expensive "extended version" that little 20 min segment with matt and Emily is the only addition as far as I can remember.

A couple things that should have been counted as sins in either this video or the second one:
- Chris/Ash could easily have still been killed by blanks when shooting that close.

Abigail Bridgman Nope. The flamethrower guy does end up in the same place as Josh in the mines, but it's Josh you see getting dragged, then tossed down a hole later. Still wonder how his back wasn't broken after that fall.

How do you make that work, though? Hammer has a long handle to fit through and big head so it hangs, but that machete is the opposite - short handle and wide blade.

Except that it's not. It literally happens all the time. Unless you consider hitting puberty to be when someone with a vagina has their first period, (which is also not that rare to occur at 8 or 9 years old) but that isn't when puberty starts - it almost always starts before then. It typically starts around the age of 8 or 9. Almost every girl I went to school with started developing breasts in 3rd grade, and as such, started wearing training bras.

If you agree and give Matt the flare gun, he shoots it, meaning that if he tries to save Emily twice and falls he cant shoot the wendigo. If he disagrees he doesnt shoot it and he keeps it, meaning that he has a defense against the wendigo and will live.
Josh is the most misunderstood character AND is one of the only characters (Jessica is the other one) who can't cause anyone's death no matter what you choose, but he's the only one who is doomed/ cannot be saved no matter what you choose #Joshdeservedbetter

Emily is the hardest to keep alive, actually. Because you have to resist the urge to blow her head off yourself. But matt does have a pretty rough go of it. Matt like Chris gets killed by default if you listen to what their love interests say in game. If you listen to ashley and shoot her with chris she lets you die later. And if you agree with emily completely while playing matt then you get murdered by the wendigo even if you gave matt the flare since he shoots it off right away.

Good on them! Emily’s not a completely bad character, in my opinion, she’s just a bitter (because of Mike and Jess) and misunderstood young woman who will need to learn to trust others if she ever wants to find happiness. Which is why if she breaks up with Matt after they survive the game (if they both survive), she probably won’t ever find it because no man will ever be as patient with her again.

I think these gaming sins would hold more weight behind them if the creator of the videos used actual sins instead of sinning stuff he just didn't personally like. Like, not having a run option in a horror video game I understand as being a sin, but complaining that a character used her phone as a flashlight (something anyone would do) shouldn't be counted as a sin.
