- Here's something for the VW fans out there. Not the fastest car in the world but it looks like it would be fun to play with.

Still think VW should have created a dedicated rear engine chassis for a flat 4 engine.
they were trying to make the beetle profitable by appealing to a bigger market, sad fact is most basic drivers don't care whats even under the hood so instead of trying to keep people from crashing cause tail happy RR platform, they just made it a regular old paper or plastic, would you like to donate your 34 cent to the make a wish foundation FF economy car. RSI and turbo S was still cool tho.
The only advantages flat(H) configs have are lowering overall center of mass(ie. Porsche), two separate exhaust heads, and allowing for a stable air cooled(oil cooled technically) system. I still think highly of the type I engine because you can easily bump it up to 1.6L and slap on dual carbs and they'll tolerate 6k rpm. Regrettably, air-cooled engines produce more NOX and HC emissions, sooo.....
That’s why I️ laugh when people say that a bug is only for women. I️ mean if it’s pink with a sunflower yah but this one is mean. They are highly customizable and u can make them into a great canyon car.

Alot of beetle forget that the beetle 1.8t of that Era is a gti with a beetle body I've had a lot of people laugh at me for owning a beetle then question I was able to beat them in races 😅 its a fun car

I don’t get it the spool lag would be eliminated almost like a Naturally aspirated engine with no throttle delay 🧐

Turbo S beetles make 180hp stock and run about 3-5 grand
@@mr.queasy2280 or you can swap a 1.8t from an 02-03 jetta awp which has the 180 hp

I have a 2014 Turbo Beetle R Line (6 speed manual) that I got from my son....It MOVES and will set you back in the seat when you punch it...great car...
I just bought a 2014 R Line that had some work done to it. The car just Flys. Love it

I will explain to you I have a 1.8t awp vw beetle but the engine is broken I found an aph engine so I will simply change the awp engine broken by the aph engine so I would like to know if I should also change the ecu awp by the ecu aph and can I also let the ecu awp despite the engine change to an aph and find the 180hp power of the awp or that will always give me 150hp from the aph engine? and if possible install any other tuned ecu?

Well it is a vw/audi. And you can pretty easily get over 300hp out of the new 2.0t

Daaaaaam guys sounds like bullet, I have 03 1.8 turbo manual, just rebuild engine n turbo, but turbo actuator looks down n connect hose won’t reach it, i don’t have owners manual to look it up, that’s why I’m looking for any helpful videos, if anyone can share with me please

Why has Vw not made an RSi with a VR6 Turbo and a 6 speed paddle shift loaded with Recaro seats and leather wrapped goodies. 350hp and the ability to daily drive it or hand it over to the better half...
