I think people are used to other card games and also what flesh and blood had went through in the last couple years, making them accustomed to bans fixing formats. Players fix formats first, then devs with new strategies/cards, then bans as a final nuclear option. FAB is also really good at knowing when something is gonna break a format, i.e. Duskblade and Berserk getting bans preemptively. The format is SO diverse and has a myriad of options for every hero to play well. Not many (if any) other card games can ever get to this level of diversity. Love this game so much. Sincerely, a Rhinar main since Crucible.
LSS has been doing a great job of banning actual problematic cards, players just refuse to compromise on their deck building and side board. These "problem cards" are strong but are very simple to sideboard for. Even something as back breaking as Warmongers is to an Azalea, she will soon have Longdraw Half-glove as a one time get out of jail free card to sideboard in. I'm also with Br33zy, unban Skeleta
As someone who has played yu-gi-oh , seeing fab players complain about half these cards is laughable to me. Come back when prism has 8 repeatable omni negates turn 1
I’m still pretty new to FaB, but I think bans should only happen when it creates a situation that only one strategy can be played or you lose. Taking example yugioh having teir 0 formats like tear and snake eyes, but besides that if there is still diversity and the ability to counter play it isn’t broken
I agree with this. If Prism and the ALS loop were to start dominating for example, I'd be fine with a hit. But people don't even wait to see if there's counterplay before they start to demand bans
The problem is while there are answers to things in the game, your sideboard cannot fit every counter in it. People suggest slotting in cards to beat ALS but what about everything else you have to tech into? There's not enough side board space to slot in counters to every hero. Imo extra side board space would help stuff like this. Also equipment being so narrow, if you do side board out your main gear, your power level goes down just to deal with what your facing, and when playing a sub par hero it hurts a lot.
only issue i have with Als is that once your locked out its almost imposible to get back in. and timeskippers is hard to do in a lot of decks. and playing a time skipper potion while a als is out means they can just play another and you got nowhere. alsow als is not the issue rebirth is. getting instants back from the grave is BS imo
I can appreciate this position. I still strongly believe that ALS flies in the face of FaB primary game design, and I hate that most prisms can play it for two cards after I play my buffs on my turn. I don't think it needs banned, but I DO think it needs limited.
I love FaB for its interaction, its tense back and forth. Kano, ALS loop and, to a (much) lesser degree scabbies can feel like you have little no agency / interaction. The card draw / filtering to combo element of kano and pris feels very mtg combo wombo, which I came to Fab to escape, fules some ptsd. Like you said, game should have variable decks, idk, the uninteractive combo vibes is a bit butts, for me.
I actually am okay with Drone going in Blitz for sure. I don't think Blitz should be a fatigue format (defeats the purpose) and Drone being a generic is what makes it so bad for the game. If it was a card for just one hero (like if we had a Necromancer) I think it'd be far more acceptable. You can plan against a hero you know will specifically be using it. You can't plan as well when anyone can be running it
As a prism player I still think ALS is broken. But only as a loop with Avalon. If set up correctly (yes that requires skill/luck), the rest of the game you are planning solitaire. One turn debuff is not a problem A lot of cards do that and some of them are really nasty debuffs, On the other side, without the loop guardian/brute feels almost an automatic loss And yes ALS can be counted with deck construction.
I can agree to that sentiment. ALS feels oppresive, (I do not think it is broken) but without it, guardians also feel nearly insurmountable for Prism. Kind of a double edged sword to play with at the moment.
While I agree people call for needless bans, I still have a huge problem with Kano. More often than not it's useless to sideboard AB when he's just going to pitch stack 200+ damage "Just kill him before he does that" I try, but my equipment and cards are now nerfed because I had to bring in AB, and I have to keep cards in hand to pay for AB in case he combos, so? I understand the logic, but you have to go through so many hoops to have ways to protect yourself from him, it feels ridiculous
As a vynnset main i am envious of the attention new prism got when she wasn't performing. Like everybody was talking about prism being bad and needing a fix but nobody said anything about vynnset... And now their deck is good, and vynnset is still down in the dumps.
I don't personally think ALS should be banned, but I don't think you represented the argument for why people think it should be banned well. The argument is typically that ALS can be used to protect angels (notably suraya and avalon) that can then be used to replay ALS on the next turn, and repeat as long as prism has soul (or deck if genesis is out). Now I don't think it's banworthy since you can tech against this loop (even if the tech is pretty narrow), but I don't think it completely invalidates the argument.
a recurring issue around FaB design is that cards and classes are extremely polarizing. Warmongers shuts down specific decks, cant be played around, but does nothing to other decks. Prism and Teklo have serious weaknesses but also have other matchups where they cant lose. LSS simply needs to stop it with these polarizing card designs. Warmonger is also a literal yugioh card (dimensional barrier)
Except thats where the flavor of the game comes from the different designs. This game would be so boring after a very short time if it was only about pitch stacking and optimal math.
Its that you cannot fit all the counters in sideboards. In this game you need to tech for multiple different gameplay styles and you simply cannot fit in all of them to a single sideboard. Before it was you had to tech for arcane damage. Now it's arcane, cnc, fatigue, and ALS. That's the problem
That is what every TCG community is in a nutshell. Just because you do not like something it does not mean it is bad for the game or anything. But at the same time they could have so easily averted the whole ALS loop situation by just, idk, give Prism another name. But no, she needs to be here again. Also, rolling a double 1 against an ALS loop with Scabsin Leathers and Gamblers Gloves was the Moment I was probably the most salty about this game.
i agree i have never played constructed flesh and blood more than the one time i joined a "learn to play" event because i know i would just lose to people with decks full of expensive staples if i bothered to build a deck.
I've been saying for a long time command and Conquer needs to be banned. It is single handedly warping the format, it's in like 90% of competitive decks. It's so lame to see for the 1000th time in a deck its not even designed to be in.
Wait till I tell people I had to fit in Burdens of the Past in Kassai because I have a local that plays Riptide. How DARE I have to sideboard for problem matchups I will have to face
Lol the you take that back from man sant was fucking gold love the game and there are great pay offs from a lot of good heroes, but there is always a way to get around them for the most part! stop take a breath and think what can help me with this card or hero and if its needed in your deck to do so! then adjust! thanks for this hilarious video though sloop this one was fire!
I don't think there should be any bans. I do question how they keep making Luminaris. I would prefer if Angel's glow said First Herald OR Angel instead of AND.
Mate, hating Riptide is beyond uncool. Unsubscribed twice, banned the internet and sold all my body pillows with your photo which I never owned and why would an adult person engage in anything like that /uj You actually hurt my feelings!
I can beat Kano, but I've never had a fun Kano game. I think it's especially bad for new players (imagine if Kano was you first opponent ever in Fab. You'd NEVER play again). No particular offense to Kano payers, but the matchups just make me dislike the game. Doesn't feel like a battle at all.
Laughs in arakni, the whole field is our bad match up
R.I.P., my friend
We're seeing the shift from playing the game for fun and growth to the entitlement and expectation of winning period.

I would cry if Skeleta came back (it wont)

If the loop starts to dominate, I actually would be fine with an ALS limit. I actually wish LSS would dabble in limiting cards in CC
Cries in Riptide
worst hero
@@Sloopdoop By far

3 things, disruption, huge bonk, and oasis, feel helpless no longer my friend
Actually loled at Ethan popping up
Lmao I sent the clip and it still got me
Thank you again, my friend. You played the part beautifully
Curious on your take on Drone of Brutality. That's the only one that I've outcried about - once it was brought back for that one Blitz season.
I actually am okay with Drone going in Blitz for sure. I don't think Blitz should be a fatigue format (defeats the purpose) and Drone being a generic is what makes it so bad for the game. ALS loop is annoying, but it takes a whole 1 sideboard slot to break it (time skippers).
Just adjust your sideboard accordingly.
....you dropped this the day I got flamed for going 4-0 on Prism at my local Armory. How did you know.
It's okay, I went 3-0 with Prism the night before this went live
Thank you for this video! It's been exhausting and hilarious to see people calling for bans in the way they have been.
I was getting my teeth kicked in by a Vynsett until I hit my side board for Kano and Scoured 3 turns in a row and slowed the game down so I could win.
Hell yeah!
Mr Ribbits is sounding oddly rational. Not sure how to feel about this...
They should also ban sink below. How come it blocks for 4 and also lets you try to fix your hand?
And Fate Foreseen. The only 4 blocks should be Block cards
As a prism player I still think ALS is broken.

Warmongers single handedly stopped me from playing Vis. It was a sad day😭
We should ban twitter!
This
If I didn't have a FaB podcast and needed it for topics/contacting people, I would have deleted it long ago
this loop needs to go away
As a vynnset main i am envious of the attention new prism got when she wasn't performing.

ban Mr. Ribbits hes to powerfull
He broke out of his cage for this one

Appreciate the video, well said.

"Math" decks get really boring to play after awhile, too
🤣 Damn the jokes in this video reaally hit, and kept hitting (heavily 😉)
Keep up the awesome work sloopdoop!
While ALS loop is really annoying its not like its easy to set up and that they can keep it together.
lol rolling scabs without gloves is actually not even considered good. 😀
Player base is to small and a lot of people aren’t willing to tech or change their strategy.

*me sitting over here with my controversial opinion on why cards like Art of War, Command and Conquer, and Enlightened Strike should be banned*
i agree i have never played constructed flesh and blood more than the one time i joined a "learn to play" event because i know i would just lose to people with decks full of expensive staples if i bothered to build a deck.

Listen King, here's the facts. My opponent should not be trying to beat me in the game, that's rude.
Side note, Kano is Dredge, don't @ me folks.
Beating an opponent is super not cool vibes, yo
Nice hat 🎉
that's my head
Stop making so much sense, I want to rage against the dying of the light.
Wait till I tell people I had to fit in Burdens of the Past in Kassai because I have a local that plays Riptide. How DARE I have to sideboard for problem matchups I will have to face
Shout out to turn 2 dishonors
Understandable , please ban Storm Striders (I am a Kano diehard)
Lol the you take that back from man sant was fucking gold
love the game and there are great pay offs from a lot of good heroes, but there is always a way to get around them for the most part!

Yeah, test of strength should be banned too
Mate, hating Riptide is beyond uncool. Unsubscribed twice, banned the internet and sold all my body pillows with your photo which I never owned and why would an adult person engage in anything like that
/uj You actually hurt my feelings!
sorry man, it's not my fault LSS made Riptide trash
I was on board with your bans until you disgraced the best ranger hero in the game
I take back nothing
Ban everything plz
Ban Brodie, not Azalea jajajajaja
I can beat Kano, but I've never had a fun Kano game. I think it's especially bad for new players (imagine if Kano was you first opponent ever in Fab. You'd NEVER play again). No particular offense to Kano payers, but the matchups just make me dislike the game. Doesn't feel like a battle at all.
BAN RIPTIDE!!!!!!
