I'm so glad you visited Lou & Dana - i've been watching their videos for a long time and in their last ones it was the first time i saw you and completely fell for you both - following you since then and binge watching your videos from a year ago - I so love your spirit, your humour, spontaneity and positive attitude throughout your trips and your calmness - it really brightens up my days at the moment 🥳🥰🤩

“I like how Tim Hortons has become a measurement for something”
The last time I was in Canada to see where my mom grew up we hadn’t heard of Tim Hortons before (being from California). It soon became a source of measurement.
How far away is it? Oh probably about 6 Tim Hortons away…

Waaaay back in 1985, my wife and I drove from PA to Ottawa to Victoria, crossed into the US at Port Angeles WA, drove through Glacier NP, BACK into Canada and exited at Niagara Falls. In 2 weeks in a 1984 Honda CRX! My but still has the Honda logo impressioned in it. What a great trip that was!

When you mentioned your grandma was on the other side of Toronto I figured Pickering, Ajax, but not Galloway in scarbrough! I grew up in that area and my parents still live there. Small world! Disappointed you won’t be making it out east on this trip as I’m in Nova Scotia now but it will be worth the wait when you do make it out here.

Welcome back to Canada!! I did a road trip from Ottawa to Vancouver once, camping along the way with only 2 nights staying at the same camp site + minimal site seeing, and it still took me 2 weeks. I was completely exhausted at the end. If you have the time, I'd give it at least a month to cross the country comfortably. Also, it took longer to leave Ontario than to cross the 3 prairies provinces! Northern Ontario is gorgeous by the way! Highly recommend taking your time camping along the great lakes and hiking up Sleeping Giant. Have a safe journey home =)

oh you Canadians :) Random fact -- my favorite hitchiking story is being picked up by a Canadian trucker headed to Windsor on I-94 (I'm from Detroit) My truck broke down and I was walking through deep snow on the side of I-94 and this trucker slowed down and picked me up by Jackson -- there's a state pen there so it's really hard to hitch. He said, "oh, you need a ride, eh?" and I was so relieved he was Canadian that I didn't even care there were photos of naked women all across the top of the cab. A true gent! He dropped me on 275 just outside of Detroit and I have always tried to buy a lunch for / be kind to all long haul truckers ever since. He really saved me in a time before cell phones and uber

@@LeahandLevi Gahh it’s a mistake that can happen to anyone not familiar with the GTA LOL. I usually warn family driving up from the USA to turn off tolls on their GPS once they enter Ontario.
The 407 is the crowning jewel of past Ontario PC government blunders, so at least you’ll be experiencing that part of the culture firsthand! 🙃🙃

Donuts & coffee, breakfast of Americans (why so many of them are so obese)! Ben Affleck loves Dunkin Donuts, says a lot about his taste ! 😂

I was just thinking, "Canada seems so much more friendly and efficient than America. I bet they're glad to be back." And, at that moment, the noisy vehicle drove past and ruined your re-entry. 😂

Dunkin is so over highly rated. They don’t make the donuts there and the stuff it’s all basically reheated. You would never catch me at Dunkin. Sorry you guys wasted your time and money there.

So i grew up about an hour away from the Canadian border in NY and have driven over the rainbow bridge a bazillion times. I have to say they Canadian border guards are some of the sweetest happiest folks I've ever run into including toll booth operators. Love them so. Now the US guards...when i was 8 one grilled my parents about the fact that i had 3 plush dolphins from Marineland in the backseat with me (one was mine the other two were for my cousin and my best friend). He told my parents that i was "overindulge" and my parents had to act polite and keep their comments short just so this guy would let us back into our home country. A few years later my girl scout group went up to Toronto. On our way back the US guards started moving quickly around the car in front of us. A bunch more came running from their guard station. Suddenly they pulled the people out of the car and slammed them against the vehicle and handcuffed them, then a second later they opened the trunk and pulled a guy out of the back! To date the craziest thing I've ever seen. 😮😂
