Who else thought dude was gonna shred down the peak
so disappointed to just watch him slowly flip back and forth down the wall
@@tommypickles3177 yea this was ass lol
Look forward to seeing vids of you guys shred down this.
He bit off more than he could chew I think.
Haha! Yeah what a complete pussy 😂😂
when you get on the summit lift on accident on your 1st day after lessons
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
I did that. No lessons ever. Squaw valley red dog. It kicked my ass but I rode it all the way down.
Fun fact that's how my dad thought me how to skii at age 10
@@bornandraised4320 that lift is scarier than any terrain it leads to
@@bornandraised4320 hell yea man squaw valley is the business
I kept waiting for the part where he rides
haaa same bro but tbh i dont blame him i bet u would go waaaay to fast u would risk breaking your legs in one mistake and dying
I don’t even consider this snowboarding anymore it’s just mountaineering. Im not impressed.
😂😂😂welcome to d club!!😂😂😂
@@charleskaucic5047 I am not impressed by your performance!
@@nonnaurbisness3013 my performance? Well one thing is for sure I ain’t riding this BS. Have you ever rode powder? Yeah I’ll stick to POW. I’m not impressed by your comment.
Is that riding or scraping down to stay alive ???
just wanted to ask if that counts a a ride
It counts
If the choices are- don’t do it; make it to the bottom; death. It’s extreme and he can call it whatever the fuck he wants.
Doesn’t count
@@Buttaman2218 as Matt already pointed out the conditions unexpectedly changed so once he left the rope there was no choice: it was scrape down or fall down.
That was exactly what I did and how I felt when I first learning snowboarding... 45 mins of heel edge down the bunny hill.
Yes, very comparable
Very difficult obviously and impressive that he managed it, but also kinda dumb. This is just snow/ice climbing with a snowboard instead of crampons.
Instead of snowboard , he should have used an ice axe .
@@bctesla pretty sure he has an ice axe in his hands man. This is Jermey Jones, this guy ain't stupid.
Snow conditions change quickly
@@robthys well...
Dude has been a pro for like 30 years... and owns and incredibly successful snowboard company and is basically one of the last who ACTUALLY HIKES HIS SHIT (he doesn't use helicopters) and is a literal god damn LEGEND in the sport....... who the fuck are you? You know it takes hours to hike that right? Conditions can change in minutes... You know how many times he has to do this in order to get one good run? YOU ONLY SEE THE GOOD ONES. only a fucking moron would make a statement like you just made. Congrats! You take the dumbass prize of the day on the internet!.......
As all others have said, 'dude climbs down a steep cliff with a snow board on his feet'
lets see you do it buddy. you got it
@@kosycat1 not that stupid
@@IronMountainx exactly. This is not snow boarding
"That was the hardest run of my life"
Dude that's not a run... that's a freakin cliff.
The moment you thought this will be so awesome, and the reality sets in. This brought back feelings I haven’t had in years, thank you.
Snowboard legend inches way down* lmao
walks down slope on board.
I'm so happy that the guy came down in one piece. The amount of courage to even think about snow boarding such a steep face is unbelievable!
Legs of steel, boldness bordering on craziness, the way he used ridge line to come down, masterpiece!
Courage or stupidity
the snow melts then freezes and it's like a rock, you can't ride it.
I went down some hardpack at Silverton, CO the backcountry place. Edging doesn't really work and you can't slow down. This is exactly what he had to do, he couldn't even ride the easy part at the bottom it was rock. With that kind of breathing at 20k, no 02, he is definitely a well trained professional.
Before I found Jesus I took out a $500000 life insurance policy to kill myself snowboarding and make the fam some $ lol. $1 mil was more per month. Cancelled the policy after the season ended.
Came to Jesus and He saved me! With Him we will never die!
@@parsons7 , Great comment, and anecdote.
More vanity
Was that really snowboarding? Didn’t resemble any other snowboarding videos I’m binge watching
my legs physicaly started to ache just watching this
Talk about a calve burn uggh
That makes no sense
it's at 20,000 feet too. have you ever breathed air any close to that altitude? wow!!!
I got anxiety and my feet were sweating
@@floridabangerz9240 To someone who doesn't snowboard.
Excerpts of a 45 minute plod down a vertical face... I was looking forward to the 1:45 run at 124 mph!!!
If I were doing it, I would probably make 124 mph or terminal velocity before I splattered.
Clearly extremely difficult, but not a great spectacle
nice compromise non-conformist
Super impressed with the courage of this guy. Not what I expected though.
The best snowboard ride that never happened video I’ve ever seen
i just ate a waffle with this guy and his kids in Jackson Hole. the whole family is a bunch of badasses.
Je menvole
Je ne sais pas quoi faire avec ça
Did you all share a waffle?
I miss the j hole with a little targhee love on the side. I lived in togwotee for about 7 years. Waffles and a beer at the top of the tram is a treasured ritual.
@John Dunbar Please verify if this is true? somehow I have my doubts and frankly think you may be talking out of your ass
We got to the end and I was like "That was it?" There was no ride involved.
WHAT, no shred fest? Lol 😆 Glad he made it safely. But I was duked into thinking he was going for it.
The only thing he'd have gone for if he "went for it" on that cliff would have been his funeral haha!
"I can't really hold an edge on this!" Who would have ever expected on a sheer cliff?
The mental endurance this would take is unfathomable...
Dork
Shut the fuck up. He didn't do fuck all.
@@georgebozinovski9401 With some hard work, and alot of luck, maybe someday you'll make it off the bunny slopes.
This man was suicidal probably didn't care if he was living or dead
Real talk was he doing coke tho?
Worked great on about 6"-8" of average snow starts to struggle a bit past 8". ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN Very light weight and the chute spin control works well. For the low price you get a ton of value. My only complaint is managing the cord as it does take a fair bit of effort to watch and pull the cord out of the way. I found myself having to whip the cord out of the way a lot when I needed to make one way passes to mange the blow direction. It's less of an issue when you can work both directions. A battery powered version would be a lot easier to handle but that is also double the price and requires battery care. I chose the corded version so I didn't have to worry about batteries but I do now see how much work the cord is. I let my neighbor borrow it and it outperformed his smaller gas blower, he was totally sold. Very pleased with the power and operations. My only suggestion is to spend a bit more on a cordless version if you have budget for it. The cord is a bit more of a headache than I thought it would be. Very pleased with the Snow Joe brand and quality.
wow. so much respect for Jeremy. So insanely talented and incredible.
Not what I had expected,
None the less,
Way more than I could have ever done,
Hats off to this guy,
Huge FN Balls!!!!!
Anyone that's saying this is lame or weak doesn't ride do you have any idea how steep that is.
he didnt even ride the dumbass
Z
Gareth Davies you’d fucking black out if you were at that elevation. Do you know what 20,000 feet feels like? There’s no oxygen in the air, and Jeremy is hopping down this face no problem.
Yeah...it was lame af and yeah...i could care less about snowboarding
rob w If you could care less about snowboarding then why did you watch the video
As a long time snowboarder, I must say that I do not consider this to be "riding". Descending, yes, but it's not riding. It's pretty much impossible to link turns and actually ride on a slope like that.
which makes it more impressive he did it.
@@PlaidHiker nope. Stupid not impressive.
@@PlaidHiker Except he didn't. Would've been more fun to watch minus the board.
Great awesome setting! Why no video of the snow board descent?
Looks and sounds like quite a hike up there! Crazy epic!!!!!
“ ok Jeremy, Be careful!” I think we’re past careful.
Impressive...but it ain't 'riding'
You clearly know nothing about the sport, but I do appreciate you making yourself look like a fool in a public forum.
Which sport is that? Reverse Stairmaster hopping in a refrigerator? Will that be in the next Olympics?
Piotr Zuralski hi
boredom2go lmao!!!
Alex Landry he isnt the one saying stupid stuff. The sport of hopping down insane cliffs with a snowboard on?
Or the sport of doing cool stuff with a snowboard pointlessly attached?
Or os the sport misleading titles on youtube vids?
The pov shot doesn’t do this justice at all. Crazy how different the steepness looks from the far back camera . Dude has zero fear to ride this !
"He did this,....he did that"
Did more than I'll ever do in the snow!
Doesn’t look so fun
Did i just watch an ant stumble down an ice cube?
Thats absolutely insane, great job
From a skier to a rider... frickin' amazing!
I don’t begrudge his attempting this. It took a ton of grit to even begin. But, really, can you describe the style in which he (eventually) got down that face as “snowboarding?”
Definitely do, the alternative is climbing down on your hands and feet facing the wall. He was doing hop turn after hop turn
@@eaglesfannnn the leg strength to do that is absolutely phenomenal.
I used to ski patrol and had to take a sled down solo with a 300 lb guy in it, so I can totally appreciate the leg strength alone. And then throw in everything else. Just WOW
This may not necessarily be riding, but it's still crazy that he did this without killing himself, also I bet all of you "professional, amazing" skiers would have to do the same thing
Wiebee dude he is jeremy jones ahahahah, if he is not professional tell me who else
Hey, I'm also a climber and rad skiier, so I do understand. I also don't flaunt his abilities or his sanity... but if the pitch and the conditions are such you can't in the least shred I'm not sure what the point of doing it is other than pure ego and/or maybe satisfying your sponsors?
yo bruh, you talking shit to the man right here. better pick some nicer words bruh, because you have been blessed with the presence of a gold medal skier right here bruh. fly me up that mountain in a helicopter and watch me ski this shit and be at the bottom in 20 seconds flat. I will make this guy look like a chump with the chump that would be the remainder of my body as I smack the bottom at terminal velocity. you have no idea who you are talking to. I will let you know I made it up the magic carpet without falling, cried at the top and walked my way down to the pub to get fucking wasted because my wife left me. suck it bitch.
I cant even go down a bunny hill without crashing ..this guys awesome/motivation
“It firmed up.”
You can always tell a snowboarder who didn’t grow up in Minnesota.
How did the other guy get down?
+dobbsmovies probably by heli
He probably hiked back the way they climbed up. This is from Jeremy Jones's 'Higher' it's on netflix and it's really good
the other side of the mountain is a westfield shopping mall and he just caught an uber down.
He probably skied down and not hopped like this guy.
Whatever he did, it was probably more interesting than watching the guy in the video
Jesus Christ, that's a vertical fucking wall.
Jones was always pushing the limits since day one with extreme backcountry.
Broooo that was absolutely insane, I really gotta watch La Liste one of these days
I'm sure that was very difficult but as a video... that was stunningly anticlimactic.
In this sport, there's an almost indicernible line separating "descending the mountain on a snowboard" and "plummeting to your death."
nice ride hope he enjoyed
Stayin alive baby! Legend
Люди, пожалуйста, не искушайте Господа Бога напрасно, берегите себя! Бог вас любит!!!
Most people here aren't even considering the fac that most of us have spent our lives at an average of no more than 5000ft or 1500m elevation. Probably less since most of the population lives on the coast. Most of the spines you see that look like this skied in Alaska are coastal mountains and very low altitude, with oxygen rich sea level air. He's up there doing this close to 7000m. That's a massive jump in elevation. With only a couple of weeks to acclimatize this would have been absolute murder on your lungs and bloodstream. Do you hear how he's coughing and gasping for breath? In many ways this video is just as impressive as the people sending it huge over cliffs five kilometers lower in altitude. I don't even like snowboarders but I gotta hand it to him a lesser man would have blacked out from asphyxiation.
Colin MacMaster no one is saying this dude isnt badass nor that it isnt a challenging feat. Its just not snowboarding
The video says he rides down and he doesnt. It's a decieving title. Its lame bro.
Elevation 2700 me
@Staying Sober a badass would have rode down not inch his way down on his ass.And I guess you are the only one in this world who isnt an idiot. That's all we need to know about you IDIOT!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Go get lost somewhere.
Colin Macmaster we get all that. No one disputes that. The argument is that the title says he rides 20000 feet and there are two things wrong with that. 1. He didnt descend 20000 ft. That's almost 4 miles. The entire mountain is probably 20000 feet but the part he descends is only about 2000 feet tops which is only a small part of the mountain. 2. He absolutely did not ride. He slid very slowly down. I dont think anyone would dispute that being at 20000 feet is difficult on your body. I dont think anyone would dispute the difficulty of the terrain or that this guy is a talented rider. But the title caught my eye and I was thinking man I have to see this. I saw it and like most people who posted saw this video...well...it was a waste of time. Nothing against this guy. But either title the video correctly or dont post it.
I love how his spotter says “ alright Jeremy .. carful lol
Respect! 👏
Anybody who says this isn't riding hasn't had a board or skis on their feet in a no fall zone, falls mean close to/death at 50+ degrees.
Just because it's the only safe way to get down with a board doesn't mean it's riding. Would be safer and easier with crampons, and probably more fun too.
I love seeing my childhood friend ('s brother) so accomplished. Back in the 80's he stole my brother's G&S skate board. It showed up a few days later on the front lawn with no trucks and loops of duct tape as bindings for the first "snow-board" that I'd ever seen.
chocmul77 liar
Yeah I remember when I showed Tony Hawk how to skateboard back in the early 80s. And that time I showed Shaun White how to ride a half pipe. We were best buds after that. Oh oh oh and that time I showed Tiger woods how to swing a golf club. Yeah that was cool. We golf all the time together. There's others but I dont like to name drop.
Definitely checked to see if this video was posted on April 1st.
Well, that looked like a lot of fun!
“That was the hardest run in my life” huh!!!! Did I miss something?
Yes.
Yeah you missed the part where it took him 45 minutes to get down that steep as mountain and one small fuck up would result in him tumbling a long as way down that mountain. So it was more like hardest in that I'm sure it was scary, his legs had to have been burning, and yeah that would be mentally and physically taxing.
@@jhaz89 No doubt it was hard, but it sure wasn't a "run".
This is pointless. Jeremy Jones is amazing and everything, but I was waiting throughout this video for him to start carving some sick lines. But he never started.
thats because the mountain was to steep, no normal human would ride this
Dude how should he start to do some sick lines, one mistacke and hes probably dead
This want worth trying. Jeremy Jones kicks ass though.
AetherElemental dam ur bad at snowboarding
You can’t carve lines down a slope that steep and high. You have to hop from edge to edge and stop or you’ll be going 180 mph in a few seconds. Even doing it the way he did which is the only possible way, if you lose your edge you’re dead.
Amazing 👏
At 27 seconds I CRACKED UP LAUGHING; "CAREFULL" , seriously....
more like climbing down
Blitz YER
I ski, but I'd like to live so no.
Dead Meme you just barely get oxygen up there
i would love to see you try
That isn't 20,000ft. Not elevation or vert obviously. Very cool line though.
I'm guessing they meant 2,000 ft
I think they meant 20,000 to get hits. I think whoever posted this lied on purpose.
Probably
feet above sea level...
This is in Nepal on Shangri La.. sitting above 20,000... do a little research.
the amount of snow you see in this video is exactly the amount of "snow" it takes to make someone think that this is a worthwhile endeavor.
That is one sick looking mountain. I wonder where it is? You thimk the poster woukd mention the name of the rider anfd the location.
But Marco Siffredi was first , who ride from Everest summit.
how is that related?
He didn't ride that he literally walked down with a snowboard on...
cuz i he fell he probably b dead.
Wanna try spelling that again?...
(translation for you: wun i try spell dat 'gain?)
Shut up
Can you do this yourself?
I've done it. Its harder than you think. One slip or edge catch and your a gonner. That kind of accent takes a ton of skills along with balls. The dude is a true pro and extreme rider
is there a part two coming...?
Wicked! Bring ice axes next time. Good call on roping the top! Badass
What's the point ?
it is unable to breath at 20000feet without oxygen respirator, becouse there is no enough atmospheric pressure (partial pressure of oxigen into (alveoly) lungs is less than 55mm of mercury)to breath freely and you would experience hipoxic hipoxia which couses Unconsciousness and death finally...
there are people that climb everest at 8848 without oxgyen.
@@darius5613 probably they have more red blood cells than normal person due to adaptation... becouse people who lives at high altitude (above 10000 feet) has more red blood cells (which is responsible to supply oxigen to body organs)
irakli irakli yeah
Just to get down that face without serious injury or worse is amazing. That must have taken some serious effort.
Everyone saying he didn’t ride down that doesn’t realize how steep that is and how precise he has to be with every single little movement he does
Nothing happens until 1:31
You’re welcome
I admire the guts and preparation that goes into doing something like this, but I'm not sure it classifies as snowboarding any more. That wall is just too steep to snowboard down on. It was more like a step-by-step jump down. Not worth the risk in my opinion.
ive been going ski for fun for the last 10 years since i was a child and i cannot imagine my self doing this
"Be careful Jeremy"
That made me laugh!
Thats not riding.
I'm sure it takes tremendous leg strength/endurance though. If your legs give out that might be the end of you. That snow is like concrete. Terrifying and painful. Doesn't look like much fun.
Skis are the only option for the most extreme slopes. They offer infinitely more control than strapping both legs to one solid board. Snowboarding is only good for half-pipe and sitting down in the snow.
Dmitriy Gula i'd like to see you ride down that
Dmitriy Gula
this is exactly what i was thinking. i get the off piste thing. looks exhilarating but this...just looks like a lot of hard work and no fun.
Oh I see. He doesn't ride it, he climbs down. Click bait title.
You clearly have no better understanding of what climbing is than you do snowboarding dude. Cuz he sure as hell ain't climbing. He's holding an edge on a near impossible face. Love to see one of you armchair qb wankers try something even half as hard.
@@timlogan6803 Could you come up with a better argument? It's like copy and paste with you guys who reply with, "lets see you do that" mentality. Children talk like that, grow up.
Geez going down looked nearly as hard as climbing up!
I ride a fixed gear (singlespeed non coasting bike) bicycle on local trails and in the mountains. The descents are sometimes harder than the climbs because I can't ever stop pedaling. But I'm not doing it at high altitude!
Me thinking I could shred down a double black diamond
Also me: 0:30 pondering my life decisions
Holy crap you people dogging this are making me piss myself cuz I'm laughing so hard. Why don't you go try it? but if you do attempt it, please video tape it so I can have one last laugh at your expense. Thank you.
Remember kids there’s a difference between riding down the mountain and getting down the mountain.
why do you have that Arnold in sunglasses pfp, its like everyone uses it
@Patrick Notstar oh yeah yeah

Thats not snowboarding...thats lazy descent...i could do that...hold my beer
calin vasile because of the gopros fish eye lens it looks much less flat and it is extremely steep. Vtw it was icy as hell
Lol i'd love to see you try to ride Shangri La at 20,000 ft above sea level.. You'd be begging for a heli out of there gasping for breath after one turn. Not to mention you wouldn't have made it up the HIKE that he took up that thing.. Now i guess its your turn.. hold his beer amateur.
STFU. 1st do that better and then talk
