  • A key feature of motorcycle gloves is the protection in the case of an accident. Usually that takes the form of protecting you from road rash and impact. TPU sliders on the palm is a big step up from TPR or just soft foam, but it seems to be hard to find in reasonably priced gloves.

    Scorpion EXO SGS MkII
    Sedici Corsa and Chicane
Similarly priced and designed but without the TPU, AlpineStars SP-8 V3 and others.

A* SPX Air Carbon v2 are my favorite gloves. Breathable, fit perfectly, and are super durable. I have a pair of Dainese and A* gauntlet gloves that just sit there because I can't replace these.

I went with Scorpion EXO SGS MK II Gloves. Cyclegear is close to me. You can order them for store pickup and try them on right there. Had to return 1st pair. I do believe they do not take returns once you use them. These gloves are not as comfortable with all the tpu protection. Seem like they would work when needed though.

I have a pair on the way from Revzilla to check out. That glove came up a lot when looking into affordable street oriented options. Yeah, no returns once you ride in them, so I will be wearing them around the apt a bit to see how I feel. Maybe just going out and sitting on the bike and operating the clutch and brake, turn signals…

Mine arrived, definitely not as “comfy casual” as the SMX 1’s but still comfy as riding gloves. They’re just too bulky for other tasks. Much better protection though, wow. Whole different world.
I am still waiting for the other style to arrive to compare, but if they are not perfect, the SGS are gonna be just fine.

I think I've said it before, but you got this whole talking thing on lock :D Perhaps some images of the gloves you're talking about though?

What, my pretty face isn’t enough? Lol
Gonna do a video with the possible upgrades when they arrive… I was behind schedule and wanted to get the video live so I didn’t pull stuff off the web and add it in.

Just for you I will try to remember to include images of the alternates I didn’t order. I have the SGS and RSR 4 on the way to try out. Kinda hoping the RSR’s don’t fit well and the SGS are perfect. Lol. $60 cheaper.

I wish my gloves had foam cushioning! ;-)) Just leather I'm afraid.

Well, order a pair, or stop in a shop. But honestly, the pads aren’t gonna do much. An extra layer of good leather is probably more useful.

Ok, you got me. The damn name changes…lol your gloves probably have their own airbags.

Wait, I thought Dainese race gloves had a force field that protected you from the ground. 😇

@@Remymoto Dainese winter gloves do have internal cushioning/insulation.
