What do you guys think of this series?! We filmed a few to test it out and see how it goes. If you love it, we’ll keep it going and bring in even more dermatologists!
MB uhm, I’m not lying. I thought the same thing. Damn, I’m sorry you’re so nasty and sad that you thought a comment like that was relevant or necessary... she’s killing it for her age, she definitely would still get her id checked
22 and still won't leave the house - or even walk around the house tbh- without at least covering my face with a BB or CC cream... It's mostly hormonal (I think) because my cycle is also really irregular, and I'm thinking about going on the pill, but I'm still sceptical of the possible weight gain, mood shifts and even a worse acne afterwards etc....
I am so loving that you partnered up with an MD for some more serious issues. It really is needed in the internet. Especially that younger people listen to whatever on internet and maybe intimidated to go to a doctor. I also loved how real this was, just in case she doesn’t go to dermatologist what she can do for herself. Loving it!
Indeed. Ive had acne since teens and I'm 29 right now. I'm pretty sure most of it is hormonal... And then I formed a stress habit of touching my face. I've stopped the latter but obviously hormones are forever x.x. however .. if I can just take care of my face and clear up pimples faster.. I'll tolerate them lol.
@Em nyr not yet, but I want to. I literally just threw out my entire skincare products and started over a week ago. I wasn't sure if I was breaking out more from fragrance or having SA in a moisturizer.. So I wanted to start fresh without any acids first. I definitely need some SA and something to exfoliate.. x.x
I love this! You two should make this a series! 😍 I know she’ll be busy, but this was so informative. Definitely going to find myself a dermatologist just to see what I can do better for my skin.
I love that Dr. Nina is conservative in her recommendations and reiterates that you do need to come in if you have chronic issues. You DO! Also, Susan. Susn. Susan, Susan. FUNGAL ACNE. I can't use natural oil (my heart!) any more because now that I'm balanced, turns out I'm malassezia prone. My favourite Korean cosmetic analyst, Dr. Pi, divides people and advice based on whether you can or can't tolerate natural oils. In which case, mineral oil or MCT and whatnot is indicated. FA prone skin is a whole challenge! I mix up my own skincarebecause in India, there's hardly anything that doesn't have some natural oils in. Do a videoooo, Susan!! Also, good on you, putting out content while you birth new life! Susan killing it!
Try ceraVe from fruugo India..you might have to pay for standard shipping (500-1000) but it's the best for fungal acne...I myself have been dealing well..use ketoconazole shampoo on face ( weird I know) but most CERAVE products are fungal acne free plus fragrance free.
@@iqraaaliya1230 Oooh, that's expensive. Ketoconazole works. I've been using shampoo, too. Squalane oil is great! And salicylic acid has helps get the bumps out to th surface and sloughing off. Still, gotta take it slow :)
@Alejandra E I love squalane! And oh, that tip with chemical exfoliation... yeah, I feel you. Hyperpigmentation from chemicals is a whole different animal... that's long term shit. Oof, PATIENCE is key but also the hardest, ahhh!
Girl! I forgot completely to mention! AZELAIC ACID! It works on fungal acne, works to treat hyperpigmentation, AND treats the redness that causes hyperpigmentation in the first place!!! Try it if you haven't. My skin loves it! But I AM very olive skinned and not really oily, if you're interested. Medium olive. And azelaic acid has great results, but not AS much information is out there for darker skin tones.
Kay Stary cereve hydrating facial foaming cleanser is awesome and doesn’t leave that film Cetaphil cream cleanser does. I hate Cetaphil too for the same reason. CereVe Ultra Moisturizing facial lotion with spf is excellent if you want a good spf without feeling greasy or having that thick white cast that sits on your face.
Kay Stary Cetaphil is crap. Many of their products have fragrance, sulfates, preservatives like phenoxyethanol which can be irritating, and the PH of their cleansers are too high for anyone but especially acne prone skin. Cerave and Vanicream have better cleansers.
What a great show, hope Ally benefits from the great professional advice. Love this format video, cause it can help many people that dont necessarily have access to professional consultation.
Hormonal acne is the actual worst, specially when it appears on the chin, I have tried sooo many things even tried the pill and nothing has worked. I stopped diary, started using a fragrance free routine and I still have acne.
I’ve suffered from hormonal acne too. I’ve tried facial steam, and it really works. I use my mini steaming machine almost every day. And I also take some supplements that are beneficial to my hormone balance. Hope this helps.
The science behind applying vitamin C in the evening is because the vitamin C itself was proven much less effective and damaged by sunlight and heat,as it speeds up it’s oxidation..If you apply it in the morning, sunscreen is a must! I love this series, keep up the good work! 👍🏼
I’m so glad I found your channel I feel like I knew everything about skin care since I’ve cured my acne but you are a wealth of knowledge, so beautiful, funny and make me happy when I watch you!
wow Dr. Nina is breathtaking! Well, both of you are of course. Dr. Nina is someone you'd want to help you with your skin, she seems incredibly approachable.
Oh my my my, the Doctor is wonderful, I'm aging skin 62.. But she is so very descriptive and thorough. The best you ever had!!! Not to say other guest wasn't great, it just the Doctor is in the building!
I wish you did a follow up video for this, with Allie showing how this advice has worked for her, what she changed, etc. This is great and informative, as a person with more of the "bumpy" acne I have learned SOOO MUCH, I just wish we could see the results as well! Amazing video, thank you so much for doing this 🙌❤
Love this series Susan!!! My skin cleared after reducing sugar, dairy and gluten intake and taking the right supplements. Mastering the 3 basics cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen and exfoliating when you need to.
I would love to check in with the young lady in 3-5 months to see how she is doing. Great video! And I liked how y’all moved around her products instead of giving her a long list of new stuff to buy. 👍🏻
I can already tell I’m going to love this series! I feel like I’m learning so much from the Dermatologist! Please continue to do these videos I loved it!
I really liked this added perspective of not only your expertise but also a dermatologist too, this is a winning combo and ultimately it’s about helping the skin and I love that you both take the time to do just that. Looking forward to future reaction videos
Well you have just convinced me to go to the dermatologist. I have had chin acne and it isnt bad but its def hormonal and leaves bad pigmentation behind. I've been treating it with Stridex and it HAS helped but it hasnt eliminated it. Hearing that she would put me on birth control or an antibiotic makes me thing I should go in! Thank you Susan :)
The joy on Susan’s face when she mentioned coconut oil. Love it and love this series! More realistic than expensive out of reach routines from celebrities (but I do love those too)!
liz 863 maybe an aesthetician can help you as well!! :) I find my derm is on a tight schedule and I hate taking up a lot of her time. But I get regular facials with a aesthetician and get all my questions answered! (That’s just what helps me. Of course everyone is different)
Oh my goodness poor Allie I went through this as a teen too except my acne wasn’t too bad at all I just had a lot of blackheads, with occasional pimples. I was one of those teens that used Clearasil, Noxema, ect and I also used Seabreeze, Clean & Clear , and a toner by the brand called Ten O Six. I always thought my skin had to feel tight in order for it to be clean. I also NEVER used Moisturizer most of the time but now I’m in my mid 30’s and I do suffer from hormonal acne and I’ve been out on a retin-a for a little bit and it’s helping a ton .💜💜 I LOVED THIS TYPE OF VIDEO , I wish I had you guys around when I was a teen!
I loved this so much ! It was very helpful to hear not only your opinion/thoughts but a dermatologist explanation of why x works with y but not z etc. Great concept !
I love this series! Can we have for adult acne. I have it occasionally but what's annoying is the red marks and hyperpigmentation regardless sunscreen, exfoliation, etc.
LOVE THIS NEW SERIES!! and to all acne teenagers, I also had a lot of acne in high school and college and I feel you!!! But it does go down as you grow older 😂😂 so hang in there
Live this! This is a great way to see all skin types, instead of the vogue or Harper Bizarre videos that capture people with almost perfect skin anyway. Keep it up, great tips!!
Thank you so much for asking all the right questions!! Everything I was thinking while watching this, you asked the dermatologist. Would love more videos like this
Thank you Allie for sharing your routine and Dr. Desai and Susan for your reactions and recommendations. I'm a skincare obsessed middle aged gal (48) but have young friends with different skin issues than me. I appreciate having some information to share with them. Also what I noticed most is that the steps of a thoughtful and researched routine are the same, but with slightly different products tailored to our individual needs. I also wish Differin was available OTC in Canada. I'm intrigued!
This was great! More please. 😊 Also if you could do a discussion video about skincare with eczema prone skin in the future, that would be really unique, thank you!
If only I had this when I was a teenager ! My skin was very similar to Allie’s. Now I’m older and I’m dealing with acne scarring and hyperpigmentation. Otherwise, my skin is doing extremely well and it’s very healthy I’m 26 and rarely experience acne, I don’t think acne really ever fully goes away! But for me breakouts now are so small and easily coverable and treatable. So for all of you young girls and boys out there watching and suffering with acne, this is great advice in the video. Also, this kind of acne won’t last forever so it’s ok. Be kind to yourself and be loving towards yourself and understand you’re definitely not the only kid in school dealing with acne. Don’t be so scared about it and don’t let it be something that keeps you away from living your life to the fullest. There’s so much to learn and experience as a teenager. Acne sucks! But everyone experiences it and it’s ok. Love yourself and your skin even if it’s not perfect ❤️❤️
Can you please do a skin care dos and don’t for pregnancy? Like what is safe, what isn’t, what is beneficial for hormonal break outs, pigmentation etc... Thank you! Love your channel!
I just put together a skin care routine, as my young teenage daughter is starting to get some acne spots. You have taught me so much over the years and so I had an idea of what she needs. Still, this was so helpful and had a couple of things I hadn't thought of. So, thank you for doing this video!
This video is so great! Dr Desai is so understanding and informative, I’m so excited to see more of this series!! A video on adult acne and or skin that’s both dry and struggling with acne would be great :)
I sure didn't have the money to buy all these products as a teen. Back in the day (early 2000's) I just used a cleanser, a very abrasive acne scrub and cheap moisturizer. Skincare has come so far!
Hi, I loved this video. I'm 25 now but I had similar skin issues. Would you make a video with the cheapest possible but GOOD skincare routine products? I remember when I was younger I had no money and wanted to find cheap alternatives, but NOONE talked about it online. Now I have a lot of scars, and I wish you can help other young women. Kisses :*
Allie can use kali brom 30 and Berberis aquifolium q internally and also apply Berberis Aquifolium q topically as a toner for around 3 months and watch her skin being transformed.
Awesome video! Love this series! I love the comments section. Can we make all of UA-cams comment sections like this?? There’s nothing but love and support, and healthy interactions here. Love your channel:)
I used to struggle with acne but now I rarely get pimples. I still have acne scars though... but yeah after 4 years I finally found a simple routine that helped healed my skin

When she said 'yes' as the doctor comment on coconut oil! Hehe
omg that’s me!!!
Allie Bretz Hope this was helpful Allie!!
Thank you for sharing your routine!
Awww! That's so sweet! Hope you know you're beautiful as you are 😊
Allie Bretz you are beautiful sweetheart!
Hope the new routine works for you. We would also love an update. Good luck!
LOL Susan's face when Dr. Nina mentioned she wasn't a fan of coconut oil on the skin 👏🏽🙌🏽😂
Dr Desai is so knowledgeable and eloquently spoken! I’m so impressed - please bring her back for more vids in this series
P Daniels no I don’t like her she’s annoying
Lexi Natalie just dont watch it, no one is forcing you
I want to see an adult acne video! I'm 21 and I thought my acne would've been gone by now

supplements to help balance out hormones helped mine and mine was cystic!x also no dairy for me sadly :(
Acne at 25 in the neck 😞
Which supplements did you take ??
Dr Desai reminds me of Lady Gaga so much, just they way she talks... crazy!
was about to comment this
I was trying to figure out who she sounded like. You’re so right ... it’s lady gaga’s voice 😮
Rachel Miller , literally said same thing to myself ! 😊
Its the nose
Stef Sim I didn’t even pay attention to her nose lol, it’s just the way she speaks and her manners I guess!
When a teenager has more expensive products than your broke adult ass😔
There is so much beauty on the screen, my eyes can't handle it♥️
Love that you guys offered ideas using products Allie was already using instead of all new products. So great.
Dr. Desai’s office is down the street from me. I’m going to schedule an appointment with her because I’ve been looking for a new dermatologist😊
I love this! You two should make this a series! 😍 I know she’ll be busy, but this was so informative. Definitely going to find myself a dermatologist just to see what I can do better for my skin.
I agree. Susan has other friends who are dermatologists and estheticians. I bet they can rotate and we can get different perspectives :)
Please a routine for brown skin///hyperpigmentation
niacinamide at night and vitamin c + spf in the morning will be your best friend! helped me SO MUCH with hyperpigmentation.
MrsStinnnsfire thanks so much girl !
MrsStinnnsfire any brand preference for niacinamide?? I use Klairs for my vitamin C

I remember when I was younger I had no money and wanted to find cheap alternatives, but NOONE talked about it online. Now I have a lot of scars, and I wish you can help other young women. Kisses :*
Oh such beautiful and educated women! It’s so satisfying to watch and listen such validations. ♥️
I loooove this new series!!!!!! Keep it up Susan and mixed makeup team❤❤❤

Awesome video! Love this series! I love the comments section. Can we make all of UA-cams comment sections like this?? There’s nothing but love and support, and healthy interactions here. Love your channel:)
Please talk about the different kind of sunscreen. Physical, mineral ones. Which ones are better?? Thank you. LOVE your channel.
