Good intentions but false info hernias are not cause by weak core muscle they are the result of weak connective type tissue you can’t prevent one by having abs etc
You are correct. They usually put out pretty good stuff, but they are way off the mark on this one. You are basically doomed at birth and it’s only a matter of time before the fascia rips due to the inguinal canal not healing properly after the descent of the testicle prior to birth…it can rip at any age of the lifespan. Many people feel the hernia for the very first time when they lift and automatically assume it’s from the lift. My surgeon assured me that’s not how it happens. It was there before the lift.
@@billybobby320 CT scan. A good surgeon can also feel it on a physical examination. Of course, this was for an inguinal hernia. I don’t think there is much you can do to “avoid” it. If the fascia is weak there is nothing you can do.
@@ronweaver4311 Ridiculous claim to make that you are "basically doomed at birth". You can strengthen connective tissue and fascia; you are absolutely incorrect.
Its possible to get it with ab workout, proper form. Because that's how I got it. There is parts your abdominal wall don't cover. I think it had more to do with the connection, from abs to legs, it wasn't balance good, or maybe I needed a better stretch
I got one last year in the middle of my weightloss journey after my workout i was going the bathroom and couldnt so i guess i had the perfect storm brewing lol
How do you recover from it? What are some good tips to do in case of this happening? I'm also going through the same thing I'm just not sure if it's a hernia all I feel is discomfort not anything else really
@@LipRipper-gp5jv i’ve honestly been fighting back tears all day. squats are my fav workout and i’ve been so locked in lately and bam, all over. thanks for ur response
Thats how I ripped mine, twice. Leg raisers and squats seem to be the problem for me.. but I think if you're generally at risk of developing them, weightlifting is just asking for trouble :(
I got it from moving a piece of furniture. I somehow managed to move a couch on my own but looking back that was a terrible mistake.... So now I'm here.
Love this channel but unfortunately this one is very casual and not backed by any genuine hernia scientific information. Biggest cause of hernias is genetics. It’s not muscular. It’s a weakness in the inguinal canal. Having strong core muscles does not protect a weak inguinal canal (if we are specifically talking hernias in the groin). Obesity does not cause hernias. There are loads of studies on this. In fact, some studies suggest the opposite with overweight people as the layered visceral fat acts as protection. This is a scientific study. I’m in no way advocating for weight gain! I myself have had 2 hernia repairs on both sides of groin and am an active Olympic Lifter with a strong core. My father had 2 hernias & so did my grandfather. My first one was painful and needed immediate surgery. My second one was manageable and I was able to train hard, but not stand for long periods. Hernias don’t happen. They develop. They are not caused by ‘one’ movement in the gym. The tear happens gradually over time until finally it becomes inducible (pops out). This is the perception people have of being hurt or doubled over with an acute hernia. Ask any surgeon. It’s never the case
Turn to Jesus people he died for your sins. Repent of what the New testament describes as sin. Believe the gospel get baptized and obey the teachings of Jesus. The gospel and the teachings of Jesus are documented in Matthew Mark Luke and John. Jesus is the only way to be saved God bless you all. If you have faith in Jesus through your faith you will live life with him as your example./.

Isometric exercise strengthens connective tissue.....

Oof, brother that's tough to hear. Hope you were able to recover from that and get back on your journey.

Idk. I was lifting properly. Not even heavy. 5 reps in squatting and got one.
It’s also hereditary
Men are more likely to get it
hey do you still squat or did u have to get surgery? i’m so bummed out i just got one recently and feel like my weight lifting goals are over 😢

But can you do something to prevent it, or there is a way to make the inguinal canal or the fascia stronger?
Don’t hold your breath and brace without a belt

Jesus taught the law. Paul taught against the law.
If he died for all my sins why do I need to repent?
