Appreciate the work mate. Now 10 years later i hope that graphics is still in your life. I left it for 7 years after a strong addiction. Now back in it and at 62 just started in C4D! Missed it so much.
Brother, your tutorials are BY FAR the best that I've seen out there! I'm relatively new to the complexities of C4D and I love how you explain in depth what you're doing, why and the results and you show them all. It really helps me because I get the basics and can do simple to medium complexity projects good, however when you need to concentrate on the complex details, your videos are absolutely AWESOME for weeding through those complex issues. Thank you so much!
the guy gives out for free valuable lessons on complicated software and people comment about his accent. idiots.. this is an excellent tutorial man. thank you.
Nobody is knocking his work and I'm sure the 4k thumbs up we all appreciate it. But blimey lighten up! Its called banter. Ive got a cockney accent and I'm sure I would get the same comments. Whats the big deal? We can't help acquiring the local dialect to where we was brought up! EVERYONE in England apart from the West Country/Brum area really dislikes their accent! I lived there a year - it did my head in!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! i was going insane because i was never good with lighting and i havent picked up this program in years, i was in desperate need to iluminate a store i built and this did the trick really nice. You are a life savior ^^
Acrez, I can't explain how much you've helped me out with your videos. I always get excited when I see you put up a new video. Keep up the great work :)
Thank you for this easy and simple tutorial with a really nice end product. Some settings were different for me since I use R17 but some scrolling through the comments helped me immediately. Started a few years ago with Cinema 4D but stopped after switching computers and didn't had the program on my new one. Really happy that I found the program again, definitely going to to this in my free time as a hobby. again, thank you and peace from The Netherlands :)
Great tutorial... i got to test it out for myself and got a great result. i thought i needed a PLUG-in for these kinds of result but as i found out thru your tutorial NO plug -in needed. Thank You.
I know 12 years ago you guys would have loved the options we have today but I have to say it is a LOT easier if we humans have less choice, now I can see how easy and fast learning was back in the day with limited choices, good thing I got the command manager otherwise I never would've found that composite thingy and euh that floor and background thingy, nice video my English friend, what we can learn from videos that old ! How nice ! Soooo ok this illumination the way photographers and film producers use it right with white sheets of cloth especially when they are shooting in cities and places where objects are blocking photons hmz hmz..... verrrry interesing ! Well what do you know, video 12 years old, fantastic ! What a nice and warm effect that creates ! Nice !!!!! You see you English you are not that bad after all hahaha naaaa just joking, hey join me for some coffee when you got the time orrrrrrr tea of course, I am across the channel, you can walk in any time, you tell me what tea to get and I got ya covered !
i think Cinema 4D is a professional 3D software, known for its easy to use, everyone can create 3D arts with C4D. My personal opinion, C4D is a perfect start to create 3D art. Now i don't know what kinda animation you want to create, if it based on 3D, you'll be enjoy doing it on C4D.
i would love to get into this!! I want to do some intros and stuff. Great work matey. Where did you learn all this man! Nice to hear a fellow brummie too!
@DecLaa Yes very, I'll be making loads more r12 tutorials very soon covering all the new things like Soft Body Dynamics etc. Also C4D Modelling tutorials coming as well :P
for everyone who does not have compositing tag at 2:20 it might apear as "render" instead of compositing. so you go to cinema 4d tags, than there is render. i don't know maybe it's becaus my cinema 4d is in german :) just wanted to point that out since i needed quiet some time to figure that out :P
Doesn't work for me, I can't see the lights on my spheres, I followed your tutorial step by step, enabled Ambient occlusion and Global Illumination, nothing works.
@evOnSnipes I think you need to click on the tool bar " Use mode Tool" Which is on the left of the screen, second from top. It looks like a triangle with a right angle arrows. Try this
GI is nice when you need bounces to fill crannies, cracks, and areas of a room. I get more realistic renders with 3-point light setups and using the HDR's for reflection or environment maps. Cuts render time down extremely and I get more realistic results
I'm intrigued. Why do you need Ambient occlusion if you are using GI ? I thought that AO is basically a time-saving render device that allowed you to get GI-like results without actually having to calculate the GI passes before rendering, or for baking to a texture ?
I remember sitting in my mums office 4 years back, watching this video and learning how to use C4d. This video brings back so many memories!
