Nice advices about basic lighting in C4D !
I would just add that, rather than creating an illuminated plane for the reflections, you could just check the "show in reflection" case above the falloff type (much simpler and faster !)

And 6 - lights color in real life never was a 100% white. Using white whit little of orange or blue. Even for the full white I would use 1 - 2% of the orange or blue (depending on the range of light).

You can make the light be seen in reflections too. :)
