Create a Area light with Z axe pointing your object will definitely help to light it ! (in this tutorial, Z axis is opposite to the sphere, so that's why everything is soo dark from beginning...) :)
hi sir thanks for the video , can u tell me why every time i hit render view it gives me all black except for the area light panel . i have everything on
Dude you gotta look at the vray manual online vray cinema 4d manual. This problem has to do with the samples and subdivisions. DMC sampler / ALso there is not a straight forward answer because there are a few different setups with GI. One import Idea I learned is the scale you are working and the sample size are very important. if they are not set correctly the sample size is too large in relation to the smallest details in the picture. this results in noise because you didnt account for the scale of the objects in the scene.
This has to do with your lighting. The preview of the shaders and textures in the viewport isnt that accurate. There is a plugin that helps with this kind of problem in Vray... otherwise you just have to not think about the colors and textures etc until you render. But really as I have progressed over the years I got to a point where I really do not need to see the render picture all the time with everything you do. Most of the time I am using the wire frame or flat shading... All of these problems are temporary because the next version of Vray is about to be released!!!!! 3.3 like MAYA and 3ds Max!!!!!
Hi xpez! Thanks for your answer. I found out my new version of C4d wasn't compatible with the Vray version I had. I updated to the latest version and this issue was solved.
Change primary bounces and secondary bounces multipliers to low values 0,3 and 0,2, this this in general tap on indirect illumination (GI). I did it, and it works for me.
zimonslot There are some GPU renderers out there, but they have many limitations. The most notable ones are Octane Render and Furryball. At the moment they can't compete with the big boys like V-Ray and Maxwell Render. Next Limit has plans of enabling GPU rendering in the near future for Maxwell.
+palonazo | What are some of those limitations? And have you seen this: docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAY3/GPU+Rendering quote: 'To enable GPU rendering, select the OpenCL (single kernel) or CUDA (single kernel) value for the Engine type parameter in the V-Ray RT settings.'
zimonslot I believe (from what I've read) that the whole scene needs to fit in vram for GPU rendering to work. I don't know. I'm happy with Maxwell render.
+Peter H h Ok I fixed it after "few" minutes... About 15 minutes or so. :D I have picture for you. This is what i got from start (shit) to end (good) prntscr.com/9jbhnf There was problem with few settings. You need to use more passes or how its called. Better Anti-aliasing and better DMC settings with better Indirect illumination. :) Anyone can use my settings if you want, it looks quite good i guess (even its first try :D) 1. prntscr.com/9jbi5l 2. prntscr.com/9jbi99 3. prntscr.com/9jbice 4. prntscr.com/9jbief Enjoy! Im not exactly sure what fixed it but it was AA for sure and Indirect Illumination :) Bigger numbers = better
In Area light, check this out! Subdivisions - this value controls the number of samples VRAYforC4D takes to compute lighting. Lower values mean more noisy results, but will render faster. Higher values produce smoother results but take more time. Note that the actual number of samples also depends on the DMC sampler settings.

:)
2:09 tute starts
Lmao xD
You the real MVP!
Actually, it starts about 5:25 for those who already have an object in their scene.
Thanks
Thank you!
Wow, nice love you.
thats what I call a tutorial. thank you! go deeper now
hi, excelente video... one question, how do you do to match when you create a material with tools´s C4d, and you want to render it with Vray 3.4??
Hey man, thanks for the tutorial. What are your pc specs? Cause my render is considerably slower.
i dont have vray render setting? where to download vray bridge
learn something from your tut, thank you very much
I have a question? When use the VR advanced Material where can I find " reflection layer " on the left panel
In your c4d interface what is the panel with the S orange logo ?
thank you soo much. Thats the best tutorial for a beginner like me :D
You don't need to create so much lights, just create one and change the F-stop value to 4 or 2 in camera settings and you're done.
Tutorial is okay except maybe you could tell us what these strange-sounding settings mean.
How can I still have same effects but not have the background in final render? the way i know only works in regualar mode, not vray mode. Thanks
hi sir thanks for the video , can u tell me why every time i hit render view it gives me all black except for the area light panel .
i have everything on
How do you get your image to render so fast? I am getting 3-4 times your speed with a 980ti and i5 3570k at 4.0ghz
Great tut!!! Thank you!!!
i dont have presets in vray :/
The ending is so good

Is the palette at the top right corner a plug-in? If it is, which one?

Hi there,
I have the Vray plugin 2.4. And i am just getting grain in my image, tried changing the shutter and the iso but nothing seems to help alot

i wanna see more like this in 2021
Can you please help, my scene renders pretty bright even without a light in the scene, why do you think this is
same here
same :(
Hi! I can't see the materials or the lights affecting the objects in my viewport. The scene is all black. Any ideas how can I solve this?

nice
Alot of people are saying their render is really bright and so is mine please help if you can take the time to come back to an older video :)

Does V-ray enable GPU rendering? (latest version 1.9)
+zimonslot nope
does it for windows apps?
zimonslot

Thank u sir :)
thanks
why is my result so noise on the white studio plane =(?
Peter H h Yeah me too !
Try to change the GI preset in the Vray settings
+Peter H h Yeah... -_- Did same thing and boom.. Everything looks fucked when render is done 100%.. -_-

very fast but my computer very sloww :((
my render looks all granulated with lot of noise
mine too, but if i render without the camera pov its brighter and clean with no noise
Mando Vid Learn about Physical Camera parameters :) play with shutter speed, f stop etc.

Which Cinema 4d you used in this video?
Giacomo Emmanuele Mongelli ,I think it was C4D R15
could you help me find a downloader for this release ?
what's the use of a tutorial if you don't explain to some point why you use choose what at least. plus 17mins for just that? dude come-on
