- Overview of ordering and installing a 4DPF.com "Emulator" kit on a Kubota M5-111 to fix a problem with the DEF system. There is a lot of information here! This particular kit fits the Kubota V3800 3.8L Engine.

I’ve been hoping someone would post a video of this system in action, thank you! Would you mind sharing ballpark cost? I’m beyond tired of regens on my M5660.
Well it so happens that I have an extra kit but… I don’t believe it fits the M5660. The kit for the 3.8L was just over 2k with the exhaust piece. You should definitely contact 4DPF.Com and see what they have for your machine!
@@OldBarkerRanch1981 This was exactly what I was hoping to find. Great video - Thanks. I also have an M5-111 (I'm in central Texas). I've had my DPF system go down twice. Luckily within warranty. Now outside of warranty so looking to head off the future problem I just know will happen. Are you interested in selling the extra kit? If so, I am interested in it. Not sure if you do installs or if it was just a favor for a friend, but if you did, I'd be interested in that as well, otherwise, doesn't seem too tricky of an install.

Sorry, I have not as of yet. But if it has the 3.8L then it will work.
You mentioned being able to revert back to stock if needed. I would wrap that harness plug up and keep it clean or else it will be corroded in the future.
If you are talking about the main harness to the ECM then yes, I had planned to dielectric grease the plug and wrap in up. I am also going to remove the ECM and put it with the DPF filter on the shelf. But good advice for sure!

Thank you for the video. I have the kit for the v2403 engine…pictures in the instructions look nothing like my engine…this will be quite the learning experience.
Its really not a hard job. But I can promise you that you will not regret doing it!
@@OldBarkerRanch1981 I'm now frustrated with 4DPF. They will not answer emails or texts regarding V2403 installation. My rail sensor plug looks nothing like the one stated in the instruction manual and I do not know which wire to solder to purple wire. Seems like they took my money and ran.

Does your machine still regen after putting it on
It does but in 100 hours it’s done it once and it was over in less than 3 minutes. This is what I have been told.

It is!! I Actually got two more of these kits if you need one. Its been flawless! and I believe we got a little more HP from it..
I have a Kubota L3901 it has a regen system, it's a pain in the @$$, about every 15 hours, I have to rev the engine nearly to redline for about 15-30 minutes. Emissions are ruining everything diesel.
That’s why I was so excited to find 4DPF.com! You can do away with that filter and the regen bs for good!
Wow just 800hrs and it's had that much trouble. They dont make em like they use to. Definitely charge enough for em though...
Right! Although I hope this one was a rare case but either way, everything that caused all the problems is gone now!

How soon? I'm curious. Thanks for the video on this. My 2022 M5-111 hasn't had any DEF / REGEN related issues in the 2 years I've owned it, but I think they ironed most of them out by now, or hopefully they have. I heard they had total hell with them for a couple year prior to that though.
They absolutely did have problems with the earlier ones. What I have found is if you have the 4 speed gearbox, expect def problems. If you have the 6-Speed gearbox, seems they have been pretty good.
@@OldBarkerRanch1981 Wow, didn't know that. I have the 18 speed. 6 speed Hi/Lo with push button splitter. Reminds me of my old 1650D oliver with the instant under-drive.
Yeah that’s the newer one, you should be good but like anything def.. it’s not “if”, it’s “when”!!
When my tractor starts to have DPF issues, im gutting it before i spend any money to fix it.
You can do that but expect it to go into limp mode within a few minutes. You can’t simply gut the DPF and keep working.
So they found the problem after the warranty was over .. interesting
right...
