The hypocrisy of truckers always amazes me , I’ve heard them bragging about going 110 to 115 mph in West Texas and yet I know of confirmed cases of these self named “ knights of the road “ ? , tattling on people, more like hi-way men , there is nothing more terrifying than being passed by a very fast truck, it feels like you’ve been hit by something, scares the crap out of you
I do believe you are right this did just become the best Channel on UA-cam. Definitely something very unique and fresh. Plus Ed just has an amazing way of telling stories. He could tell you a story about the paint on the wall drying and you would listen to it for 2 hours and and hit the like button lol.

Radar and laser detectors are legal in OK... everywhere but VA. Maybe he meant a laser jammer, but those are typically concealed as part of install.

Truck drivers tend to have the most neglected vehicles with the most selfish drivers around where I live. I had one almost sideswipe me off an exit because I blew his doors off five minutes earlier when his trailer started spitting large pieces of tire into the front of my car and all over the road. He just kept driving on completely oblivious to it and pissed off. I've known some quality people who were professional truck drivers, but I've seen way too many do stupid, dangerous, or aggressive things on the road for me to have any respect for the profession itself.

Radar detectors are not illegal in Oklahoma, the state trooper lied to you. Only jammers are illegal, and they're illegal in all states.
Of course 105 through texas i have gone 160 in my challenger pretty much all the time going out of state for vacation i get the car up to top speed
I feel like if you pick up some soccer mom car you can do this without getting pulled over. i.e a town and country, and still average above 100

I was so tired at that point he probably said laser jammer in reference to the noises and since I did not have one, (it would have put us over budget) I just assumed or thought he said radar. I was pretty fried. And I agree, this attempt was the result of an amateur, and I learned a lot. I did not prepare enough in time, but I had to go.
completely late and not entirely related, but I will have to be driving from Sacramento (8 hours north of LA) to Atlanta (2,500 miles) next year in September for HotRod Drag Week, and I will have about 30 hours to do it due to long, loooooong term scheduling conflicts. I'll be having to do it by myself it looks like; any advice as to staying awake? Any other cannonball advice for the unexpected?

Brett Bilger na, it could be way worse than that. If you want to read about some worst case scenarios read all the ride reports of the Iron butt rally every 2 yrs. it's usually 12-13000 miles in 10 days on motorcycles.

Am I the only one who caught how much of a tool this guy is? He said "the A8 was governed to 126mph, but because we had such large tires it allowed us to go 136mph" this made my brain hurt lol. I thought it was common knowledge that increasing/decreasing overall tire diameter alters a speedometers accuracy😑

Don't flatter yourself. The truck drivers didn't give a damn about you. Most trucks are all governed at the same speed, they were side-by-side because they were trying to pass each other. I see people driving like idiots all the time, it gets old.
