Very enjoyable to watch. Your fridge contents deserve a gold star! Who wouldn’t want all those lovely goodies there available for when you fancy? Well done x
I love batch cooking veg soup for my daughters packed lunches or chorizo pasta bake is favourite lunch. It is a lovely feeling when you’ve done it it, well done to your for being so organised. X
I absolutely love batch cooking! I recommend it to everyone, whether on your own or in a family, it just saves so much time, money & hassle. I really got into it for about 2 years, but lost my mum suddenly in January, & it just threw me, & with the gross summer we’ve had I just haven’t got back into it. Hoping to do so soon! I echo the suggestion of cornstarch, just a teaspoon diluted with the teeniest amount of water, stirred & then pop into whatever dish needs thickening, cook it down a bit & it should work wonders! Some people use smash for a thickener too! Yeh… mayflower is my favourite curry too, but it’s Chinese based, if you don’t know (I only found this out last year as I follow a channel called Chin & Choo based on Chinese takeaway food), making Chinese curry sauce from scratch is GRIM lol. It takes possibly days, infusing all these herbs / spices in a huge vat of oil, skimming it.. oh lawd no! Different to Indian curry’s where you can brown spices & build it up at home. I’ll stick to mayflower curry powder 😂 Enjoy your week on delicious meals, I must try that crustless quiche recipe out! X
@@TheSliceOfJess or chia that's a thickener. I'm transitioning onto low carb high protein and going to batch cook I think it will make it easier to stay on track. I'm the UK where did you get the meal containers and white chocolate flavouring?
Potato starch and flour are the worst things for inflammation in the body, insulin resistance and therefore hindering any long term healthy body or losing any weight. Calories are negligible when following a healthy low carb lifestyle. It goes off the macros and what spikes your insulin, which in turn, makes you get inflammation and load on the weight. Carbs and sugars are deadly
Ooh i'm so intrigued right now! ive never batch cooked not sure if I'd like to spend a whole day cooking but kinda wanna try this as I hate cooking for just myself! So maybe this my answer just to get it out of the way 🤔🤔
I need to do this I used to but only managed like 2 days cooking took forever lol I need some new recipes to try aswell I’m bored of my cooking skills xx
I love meal prepping as well, it helps me stay on track. A potato in the soup would also help thicken it up. That was a huge cook day. It reminded me to make some overnight oats soon. I will tend to make a recipe every few days and eat one or two portions and freeze the rest, it helps me split the work over the week.
Loved the batch cook ive never thought of adding brocolli into the quiche I usually put peppers ham etc but yours looked amazing 👏 😋, I have some new ideas, you've inspired me to get a batch cooking so thats what i have planned for the weekend thanks for all the fab ideas x
Nice one Jess. I did a batch lasagne, cooked the meat sauce in the slow cooker then easier to lay out in portions then freeze. Doubled up with adding pasta to slow cooker with leftovers, 40 mins on….hey presto….pasta bolognese bake 😄 mayflower one too I love to make just like you
Nice one Jess...Just catching up.... how did your vase end up? it looked really good but you didn't show u s after when t was dry...such a great idea too! Great video xx
@@TheSliceOfJess excellent...such a great idea...I looked at my detergent bottle this morning but it's the wrong shape...so gonna get one like yours and attempt it myself...if I do it in my video I'll give you a shout out that, I saw you do it. You are doing so great, been loving watching and cheering on your lifestyle progress, keep up the great work Jess 😊💙💙💙💙 Always look forward to your videos.
All your meals so tasty. Can I ask what temp you cook the quiche on please.I tend to make big shepherds pies and hubby makes big fish pies to freeze. When I make the shepherds pie I always add onions tin Tom's and mushrooms, plus a courgette chopped.I then add veg with them separately.I will have a go at the soup too ,I might even try and make a risotto.Ive never tried chia seeds so might give them a go.Thank you for a great vlog.xx.
Batch cooking saves my sanity on the nights I just don’t have time or energy to put anything together. Plus it can help you stay on track calories wise that’s for sure.
Hey Jess! I’m really craving risotto now! I’m always boring with my batch cooking…it’s always just chilli and spag bol 😂 Does the risotto freeze/defrost ok? I’ll have to try it. I’m looking forward to getting my slow cooker out again now it’s getting colder…I love making stew and dumplings, chicken or sausage casserole etc xx
Mmm be trying some of those.. I love the quiches & the breakfasts look quite interesting.. Lovely vlog Jess & food for thought as they say.. Well done x
Loved watching this. You can get a sort of lid thing that sits on top of chia / porridge. (Look up jam funnel ) . Bless you and your risotto cheese chunks 😆 loved it.
I tried batch cooking once and never again! 🥴 lol it was too time consuming for me so now I just get someone else to do it 🤭😂 You did amazing with your batch cooking Jess, keep up the great content! ☺️ Love to You and Billy xo 😘
Hi Jesse what a wonderful vlog l just watched from you,All that food looks amazingly yummy 😋 lm goin to make some of them an stock them up in the freezer, thanks for the wonderful vlog, stay well,😀😀😀👍👍👍👍🙃🙃🙃
Hi Jess, I do love a good batch cooking video! I’m not sure if your soup containers were plastic but if they were please be careful putting hot food into plastic as they can leech nasty chemicals into your food.
Hey! I have done, but I usually keep them in the fridge until I decide what I'm eating when so I don't accidentally freeze something when I wanted to eat it! xx
Fab recipes..thank you for sharing Jess xxx
A lovely lot of meals, I must try the chia breakfast never had it, it all looked very tasty enjoy xx

You’re welcome 😊
Didn’t see if anyone else said this but re: getting oats into jars I have a wide funnel for jam makers and it’s a life saver 😊
Love a bit of batch cooking. Well worth the effort. No wonder you were knackered!!! xx
Haha it's tiring work isn't it!! xx
If you add cornflour it will help thicken the soup, adding potato would also help xx
Should have done that!!!

Hi Jess you should try the potato and leek soup mix from Aldi it’s only 79 p with 2 veg stock cubes in soup maker ,it’s my fav x
Ahh I'll keep an eye out for that next time I'm there!
Hi jess. Was it dairy milk you used in the chia pudding. Thanks
No I used oat milk but dairy works well too
No matter what video you post I love to watch your videos Jess 🥰
Aw thank you!
Where did you get your storage boxes for the batch cooking? Great vlog, really helpful
They were from amazon!! Glad you liked the vlog 🥰
If you want to transfer oats mess free, use a simple kitchen funnel 😂 this is my mum’s hack 😂 bought it in Asda for like a £1

Might give the soup and quiche ago at some point not much off a batch cooker . X
Well done Jess, I spied your Gavi... could just have a glass of that x
Jess one medium diced potato an all soups thicken it. X
Where do we get the white chocolate drops from, and do chia seeds have a sw syn value?
I got mine from MyProtein, and I think the chia seeds do have a syn value but you'd have to check the app for how many
Thanks Jess.x
Some great tips here, Jess! How long do the chicken dishes keep in the fridge? xx
Glad you found it useful! Once cooked chicken can last up to 4 days in the fridge :) xx

Very impressive flipping of the quiche I know mine would not end up like this 😂 it’s definitely time to get the soup maker out you have inspired me! X
I’m always worried about 1. How long the stuff can keep in the fridge and 2. How to safely reheat
usually around 3-4 days in the fridge and reheat until it's piping hot!
That's alot of meals welldone hun 😛😛
Such a great idea, you're doing amazing and totally inspired me to do some meal prep this week x
Unfortunately you didn't use a thickener for the soup, hence why it was so thin x
Hi Jess ,you should put some of those meals in the freezer cos they will only last 3 to 4 days fresh 😊👍 xx
