Thanks for sharing. I love this project idea and glad to be along for the ride. I appreciate the short video format too. Don’t be like Mortske. I don’t have time for 2+ hours to watch every minute of the project of the day. Keep at it man!
Hope you are doing well. Sucks you had the accident, especially as you are doing so well with your new channel. I'm following along and enjoying the work.
I just happened onto this build when it can upon my feed after watching DD Speed shop. Feel free to make them longer if it is any better for you. I don't have a lot of time to watch, but I do watch the channels I like, for as long as 2.5 hours, sometimes all at once or over a period of time. Some people don't put out videos but one every week or two, so having a longer video and being able to watch it over a period of days can be a plus. Dan at DD Speed Shop could make a 2 hour video and I would watch every minute in one sitting. I love watching him work! I just subscribed, as this appears to be a pretty unique and aggressive build, so now I need to see what you end up with!
Thanks for watching.I may do longer more detailed videos once I learn this you tube thing.I watch Cold War Motors every week and his videos are about 1 hour but only once a week.Same with DD Speed Shop,I never miss any of his videos.
So far it’s been mostly head -scratching, I suspect the next video will be where the rubber meets the road in terms of the Nomad stuff willing to marry up to what’s left of the hard top. Good call cutting the HT roof in such a fashion it can be used on a future project.
First time watching and so give it a go, subbed and seen Dan from DD speedshop give his approval. Not sure of what happened to you as I live in alaska, 75 and drove the wheels off of the tri five era vehicles... did not know about this sharing a lot of similar stuff between hardtop and nomads... hoping ya win
Thanks for giving me a shot.I was real stoked when Dan chimed in!I've been watching him since he started out.The Tri Fives did share a lot of parts across the models and years.
I have the same crane Working on short nosed Subaru's it worked just fine Trying to pull a 96 Ford T-bird V6 with it's Long nosed front - it didn't work Rather then buying a new one I extended the legs and the boom for penny's instead of dollars thx Bro
I don't have a fancy camera or editing software where I could fast forward through the boring parts. But I was going to do this build anyway and I thought maybe people would like to see it.
The body parts that make a nomad are real. Do you that the oldest vw beetle which is one of the original prototypes that were ordered destroyed once the body was type was chosen, this car wasn't found with a body but Volkswagen gave him the blueprints for the original car and managed to find most of the authentic parts and is not devalued by recreating the body my point is that there are only so many nomads. And I could see whole repop nomad body shell's being available one day, and yours has the real deal with the possibility for welding in other actual real parts by your grandchild long after you and I are dead 😢
I dig this project although I dig regular wagons more than Nomads because they are pains in the butt due to 90% of the parts being Nomad-specific. See: DD Speed Shop.
Back in about 1980 my buddy and I were customizing his Austin Mini wagon and he took my advice and used chrome hatchback strips for the back doors for the Nomad look he just ordered however many it was. You look like you could fit right in any seventies rock group with those sunglasses 😎
Enjoyed your part 1 to part 5... incredible work.
Thank you!I hope you stick around for more to come.

Thanks.I realize that it's easy to get bored even when you like what you're watching if it goes too long.
Man! I love this build.
Thanks Dan!You thought you had the worlds worst 57 LOL
Hey, Dan, I just spotted this build, and I was going to tell you about it. Cool, huh?
It’s going to be a challenge for sure, but it’s just metal. Keep up the good work.
Thanks!

Thank for the well wishes and thanks for watching!

All I have to do is find a 4 door donor someday.
Seriously though, good luck with your project..major endeavour! Looking forward to following along
You're not the first one to notice the resemblance LOL.Especially since I play in a band. Thanks for following!
Is Doug in the witness protection plan? 🤣
If he isn't,he should be LOL!
😂
You are making progress
Slow but sure

I think Dan from DD Speed Shop did something similar.Whatever it takes to get it done works for me!
I thought cold War motors could chop one up. But i think you beat him. 😂. 👍
I love Scott's channel. He's given me a lot of ideas.
Looking good 👍👍
Thanks!
I half expected you to fall through the trunk floor when you climbed in
So did I LOL!
You're right about time. 45 minutes is ok, but some of these guys have two hour videos. Wow.
I don't have a fancy camera or editing software where I could fast forward through the boring parts. But I was going to do this build anyway and I thought maybe people would like to see it.
@EllisKarKustoms-v9j I'm enjoying it so far
@EllisKarKustoms-v9j And I wish I knew how to edit videos.

You have a point.
MAYBE SOME DAY YOU WILL HAVE SOME SORT OF FURNACE FOR HEAT> INSTEAD OF SALAMANDER...LOOKING GOOO0D DOUG♥!!!!
Thanks!

Just wondering, make nomad out of 4door, keep this 2 door ?
I was thinking similar, but I guess a person makes use with what you have...
Too late!I have a 2 door Hardtop and this one was so rotten that anyone else would have scrapped it.
I dig this project although I dig regular wagons more than Nomads because they are pains in the butt due to 90% of the parts being Nomad-specific. See: DD Speed Shop.
Nomads can be expensive for sure!
would you be selling any parts that you are removing from the hardtop?
Nothing I've removed from the car except the roof and doors is any good.
I was intersted in tge chrome trim that goes on outside of car in tge v wedge u cut out by rear windows
Trim is expensive and more so for the Nomad.
I understand that just got a 2door hardtop shell so trying to collect what I can without breaking the bank lol
@@guybenning6909 Yep. I get it. Good luck.
I guess you didn't get the parts with vin numbers in your real Nomad pieces
No sir.But even if I did,I wouldn't try to pass it off as a real Nomad.I'll register it using the original Hardtop vin which is still in place.

@@EllisKarKustoms-v9j I meant to say chrome strips from a Pinto
