Glad you had the fortitude to show everyone who wanted to see the roof on the car. Now you can take it back off and get to work buttoning up every other step before welding it on. This move proves that you are reading the comments. Ok enough from me take care
Thanks!I haven't got to the fun part yet.Right now I'm just trying to assemble a jig saw puzzle with half of the pieces missing. The fun part is fabricating those missing pieces.
reminds me of working with nothing and making a nice project come together, Some of my projects die on the vine. I think yours will harvest with a nice Nomad. wish you the best of luck with this channel
Big project you got on your hands but you have got a lot done in a short amount of time that shows me you are skilled in metal work, looking forward go more videos.
I was looking at a guys channel last week who has just bought a '56 Nomad ,which looks to be rusty and will need floors . Worth a look as he seens to know all the little bits which go together to make a whole 😅
I've heard that with putting in the flat rear floor if you want a bigger tank you can use a 1980 ford pickup tank. I have not done this myself, I'm running stock floors in my cars, but hope to build a gasser soon and use the bigger tank. Good luck.
I have a gas tank for a full size Ford pickup new in the box that I had for another project that I didn't use.I might see if it will work for this project. Thanks for the suggestion!
Keep up the good work It's looking fine It's a long process when you start building a car Especially the way you're building it On. Because believe me That would be the only way I could ever afford to build a nomad They are so high price now I will be following till you finish it Good luck My friend
It's the only way I was ever going to afford a Nomad as well.I'm just an old working stiff.I have a lot of toys but it took me years to get them one at a time. Thanks for following!
Sure and steady, wins the race. Leave more time at the end of your video. Walk around and just for a moment so old guys like me can find the remote and hit the like button. 👍
Way to get after it Man. I would suggest to measure the front windshield height. If that checks out tac the windshield post and then get both doors shut and lined out the the roof. Tack the doors to whatever sections are connected to the roof. After that it should be fairly straight forward welding and patching the quarters to the lower window channels. Good luck its taking shape 💪
I tack welded the windshield posts and checked the opening and it's looking good.I ran into some other issues that I will explain in one of my next updates.Needless to say,we will plow through and get it done. Thanks Don!
Glad you feel good enough (post train wreck) to work on this. I never doubted you’d get this far and it looks great (for where you are at this point). Keep plugging away and I’ll keep watching?
It's really taking shape Congrats Back when I did my 56, there was no replacement panels You cut up another vehicle to fix yours or you Chicken wired and bondo'ed it I have fake cab corners, I can replace with real ones now lol As a Do'er you engineer on the Fly thx Brother
When I built my 72 Jeep, there were no sheet metal parts available. And believe it or not, there still isn't.I had to make everything. We do what we have to do.Thanks!
Here's a tip hope it helps after you grind your welds smooth take some soapy water on the out side of weld and blow compressed air on the back side of welds if you still have unseen pin holes it will show you when and where it bubbles
You will eventually get the equipment as you grow your channel, my only advice is always keep politics out and invite everyone in like it used to be. Love thy subscribers. All of em. Take care
No.I'm leaving a 16th inch gap at the seam and burning in the weld between the two pieces. That way the weld bonds to the two halves instead of riding over the top. That way when I grind the welds smooth it won't affect the strength of them.
I can't install the tailgate until I have the cargo floor and rear body mounts in place but I will place it in the opening to verify the squareness before I lock the rear quarters in.I appreciate the suggestion though and feel free to keep them coming!
Nothing worse than a little gash on the body with a rust patch under a big blob of mud filler and beautiful paint surrounding the tell tale bondo truth of the whole car's resto job.. Will a magnet stick if there is a very thin layer of mud filler?.
I'm just writing this to help your alhorisms, you're awesome! Philippines loves this project!!!!
Thanks.Every little bit helps!
I just got finished watching dan just now i told him what your doing.cant wait to see thjs job
Dan did comment on one of my videos saying he loved my build.I hope he follows along!

That's why I haven't fully welded the posts so I can still raise and lower the roof as the need arises. Thanks and you take care as well.
Philippines is watching and loves this build!
Thank you very much!
That's all because we know you're new but, we already like you.
Thanks,I like you guys too!
Great progress! I like the short videos. BTW, cool Mazda in the background…
Thank you!Are you talking about the blue vehicle or the white one?The blue vehicle is a 72 Jeep Commando and the white one is a 85 s10 Jimmy.
Awesome build!..right up my alley, because I tend to take on the "too rough to build" cars like my present two builds.
If it was easy, everyone would be doing it right? Thanks for watching!
incredible workmanship.
Thanks!I haven't got to the fun part yet.Right now I'm just trying to assemble a jig saw puzzle with half of the pieces missing. The fun part is fabricating those missing pieces.

Thank you.I'll take all the luck I can get!
I`ve been watching… love it!!! Maybe it’s because I’m a wagon guy, but this an awesome project… keep us posted
Thanks for watching and will do!
Looks really good with the roof on , you can see what you are working towards .
Like Dan at DD Speed Shop says,it really helps to throw things together to keep you motivated.
Big project you got on your hands but you have got a lot done in a short amount of time that shows me you are skilled in metal work, looking forward go more videos.
I've been bashing metal for a long time but I will admit this one is challenging me.Whatever it takes we'll make it happen. Thanks for following!
You sure have a hell of a task ahead of you, but it’s looking good,👍
Thanks!Nothing like making it up as you go LOL.

Great job! You’re an inspiration!
Wow,I've never heard that before!Thanks!
Just subscribed really appreciate the work you are doing there coming along nicely. Great that you don't rely on the body filler to much also. 👍👌
Body filler is a crutch for bad metal work. You'll either take more time getting the panel strait or just as much time sanding an inch of bondo.
Absolutely 👍
Sure and steady, wins the race.
Leave more time at the end of your video. Walk around and just for a moment so old guys like me can find the remote and hit the like button. 👍
I'm still blown away that I'm not boring people to death! We'll win that race in the end!
Your videos are perfect the way they are, btw
Thank you. Most people can only take me in small doses LOL
@EllisKarKustoms-v9j haha. I know how you feel. Same goes for me
It’s looking good 👍👍
Thanks a lot!

Your doing fine work
I appreciate that!
Very interesting project.
Thank you very much!

I'll say if you can get away with one can of filler yup you done a great job in your body/metal work. Looking good👍 watching from California bay area.
I have always been proud to show any car I've done to someone and challenge them to find a spot where a magnet wouldn't stick. Thanks for watching!
looks good so far
So far.Lets hope it only gets better!
Subscribed and looking forward to watching this build come together!
Thank you very much!
Ah! its taking shape fast!
Yes it is,but it's never fast enough!Thanks!
looking good
Thanks 👍
Doug, I am looking forward to following your progress on this. I used to have a very nice 57 Nomad myself! And longer vids are OK!
Thanks.I'm glad you're enjoying the build!
It's just. Blowing in the wind. Bob Dylxn. Americas version of the Shooting Brake. Good luck. 👍
Thanks!
cool build
Thanks!
This has got to be the biggest project that I have ever seen anyone attempting on a car or truck
It may be the biggest I've ever attempted but I'm all in now!
Your subscriptions are 4 times what I saw when I first found your channel
I amazed that it's doing so well!I'm taking steps to improve the quality of my filming now that I know people are interested.
@@EllisKarKustoms-v9j You are getting it done, brother.
Here's a tip hope it helps after you grind your welds smooth take some soapy water on the out side of weld and blow compressed air on the back side of welds if you still have unseen pin holes it will show you when and where it bubbles
That's a good tip!I often shine a light on the back side and mark any pinholes I see.
@EllisKarKustoms-v9j if you can find the pin holes and fill them with weld the water can't get by and ruin your bondo or paint
Looks so awesome! Wow!!
Thanks!
Amazing progress!
Sometimes I amaze myself LOL
Hey, Doug. It's starting to look like a car again.
Little by little.Thanks!
Bad Chad is pretty good to
Bad Chad is on a whole other level than me!I love his builds and have been watching him for years.I do hope he sees this build though...
You will eventually get the equipment as you grow your channel, my only advice is always keep politics out and invite everyone in like it used to be. Love thy subscribers. All of em. Take care
You read my mind.I am going to address that and a few other things in tomorrows video.I hope you check it out.Take care.
REALLY COMING TOGETHER "QUICK".... ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,♥
I wouldn't say quick,but it's getting there!
Looks real good
I wouldn't say it looks good yet LOL!But it definitely looks different
This is awesome!
Thank you!
Save the parts cars. I love it.
Pretty much what I started out with.I couldn't see it all getting scrapped.
Are you going to sleeve the front post?
No.I'm leaving a 16th inch gap at the seam and burning in the weld between the two pieces. That way the weld bonds to the two halves instead of riding over the top. That way when I grind the welds smooth it won't affect the strength of them.
Lovit
Appreciate it!
What is under that tarp in the corner!
right corner?
It's an 85 S10 Jimmy that used to belong to my Dad.It's a future project that I have big plans for.
Where do I order that flat floor for cargo area bud ? Help
The only place I have seen the flat floor is through Classic Industries.
Would it help to. Install the tail gate?
I can't install the tailgate until I have the cargo floor and rear body mounts in place but I will place it in the opening to verify the squareness before I lock the rear quarters in.I appreciate the suggestion though and feel free to keep them coming!
A job for jeasus! Im arootin for ya
I'll take all the help I can get!
A reminder. Don't pay any attention to nay sayers and negative ninnys. They're out there.
Like I keep saying,I'm gonna build this thing anyway but I'm glad so many are interested.
Top.and.tail...two.day.job..finished..
I wish.
Nothing worse than a little gash on the body with a rust patch under a big blob of mud filler and beautiful paint surrounding the tell tale bondo truth of the whole car's resto job.. Will a magnet stick if there is a very thin layer of mud filler?.
I agree.A magnet will stick to a very thin layer of filler but definitely not a blob LOL.
🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍😊😊😊
digging it, will be watching, hey it's time to get rid of the trump sign.
Thanks and probably cause I don't want to create conflict.
