Well, if your encounter with the rail service vehicle didn’t knock some sense into you, it looks like you will be continuing this project. I’ll be watching!
Oh Man, dang lucky I would say that you didn't get more than a concussion. Take your time and heal up, you're going to be darn sore for a few days and that concussion is going to affect you for a while. That's pretty cool to find that Nomad roof and parts for sure, so what a great project!
Be well partner after your close call. If I understand correctly, you have a job you go to, and the Nomad is a home project? You're making serious progress. I wondered how you would tackle the rotted floor above and around the new floor pan. I learn something every day...Thanks and get well soon.
Thank you for the kind words.I am a truck driver full time and I work in my shop on nights and weekends.I used to have a body shop called Ellis Kar Kustoms years ago.I mostly did restorations. That's why I named my channel what I did.
Hopefully you are ok after that incident .These things take time to heal . Don't push yourself . My daughter who works in Healthcare tells me that healing is not a linear process . Some days you seem to be making progress and other days the process seems stalled .
Thank you for your kindness.I stretched joints and muscles that weren't meant to stretch and banged my head off the door.I was surprised the side airbags didn't deploy as hard as I got hit.I am on the mend but being in my 60's doesn't help LOL.
No.It was just before 8 in the morning. But it's a blind crossing with no visibility which is why they have the gates. So,unfortunately for me,I had no way to see him coming.
It’s very cool that some guy squirreled those pieces away. Thanks for the fabrication tips. I’m learning from you. ❤️😎
Thanks.Glad I can help!
Glad you're Ok

Wow. Those patches look great. I'm so glad it wasn't a train that hit you. That probably wouldn't have gone so nicely

It sounds like a legal matter eh? fast recovery to you
I called a high powered law firm and it took them 10 seconds to jump on my case.I'm taking that as a good sign.
I hope you are better and have insurance payouts big enough for medical bills and truck replacement also being unable to work
Some people have said that I won the Lottery LOL.I just want to be fairly compensated for what was clearly not my fault.
@EllisKarKustoms-v9j I wouldn't call it winning the lottery. You deserve to have your losses compensated
Well that sucks. But at least you are ok 👍👍
A little sore but still in one piece.
The real question is that when you get to feeling better, whom will be responsible for the wrecked truck, the service truck,,?
My lawyers seem to think I might make out pretty good.It took them 10 seconds to agree to take my case.
Did you get the internal brackets where the retractor cables mount (from the tailgate)?
That's one thing I don't have. But I do believe they are available aftermarket.
Wow.Was it dark?
