i would doubt it would happen unless tim really liked charles music, unless charles was an ibanez artist or neuraldsp or something then they would probably collab since its business
@@ulyssessait Are you kidding? Davie doesn't even compare to Charles. Totally different levels. Don't get me wrong Davie504 is a good solid bassist, but not a standout by any means on the world stage. Charles is a top tier player and one of the best bassists of all time. 100%!
"Diss" to treat with disrespect or contempt : insult. I agree with you. As much as I like Charles ... don't be plugging other musicians in the place of existing members😵💫
@Jag Masters he's not playing the bass line I'm really confused what the disrespect to Clay is. I'd bet pound to a penny he'd just think Charles's playing was slick and bot give a fuck.
I already know that all of these guys are Boss Level musicians and yet I still have to pick my jaw up off the floor! Polyphia already has a great bass player but imagine if Charles was their bassist!
I honestly would still prefer Clay Gober. His hibryd picking techniques, his composion and his style overall fits better in the band, even though I think Charles is the best current bass player in the world in terms of general technique.
i actually think charles potential would not be used to its fullest in polyphia since there's so many people filling the spotlight already. He either has to stay a bit back, which would not use all of this potential or go for lead bass, which would be fighting against scott and tim constantly
@@TheDiamondBladeHD there's ways to fill the soundscape, I mean look at John Myung , he plays over a keyboardist and guitarist that are almost always soloing, sure for dream theater he seems a perfect fit until you hear someone else better. It happens, though rarely, when Tool came out, their original bassist seemed to fit like a glove until Justin arrived and showed us what can be done and still stay true to the sound of Tool. With Charles' skills, how long do you think it would take him to improve upon the hybrid picking technique or even replicate it with thumb picking and pops, I mean not bashing Polyphia;s bass player, just saying until we hear a collab between them it would be hard to say. Don't forget Charles is a learned bassist, who has not just the chops but all sorts of education from people who were the best, some are now deceased, so I wouldn't say that Charles wouldn't fit in. No, he wouldn;t fit in playing like he does in this video because he's covering the tune but have we heard him try to play just the bass parts? Nope. So you catch my drift>
@Smoke totally agree. Polyphia needs a bassist that is "understated" to vibe with the drums and Charles could almost definitely do that. But he's still a "lead" bassist.
Some morning, a ringing phone. Tim: "Hey Charles, wanna collab on Playing God?" Charles: "Yeah, I'd love it!!" Tim: "So when do you want to send the recording?" Charles: "Mmm... It can't be too soon because I'd have to learn it first... What about tonight?"
The fact that charles even uploaded this like a week or so after polyphia released playing god is just mindblowing, he completely learned one of the hardest guitar pieces on bass in just one week
I love how the title simply has "Clay" at the end, and the description just has Scott and Scottie as two separate people, but Clay is no where to be found. Respect the drummer
I enjoy watching Clay drum. His conservation of motion is fascinating. To get the same sound out of my drum set I have to do larger motions. It could be that way cause I'm a skinny armed weakling. But he is so concise with his hits. I wish that I could have gotten to that quality, but even after 20 years of practice, I will never be more than amateur, and a middling amateur at that.
There will be those who disagree... but having played a stringed instrument now and again - a fretless bass takes much more effort than playing the same licks on a normal guitar. Reason of course is the neck length and thickness. All imo of course.
You can hear the bass way better on this version ua-cam.com/video/AHvT1RExpgs/v-deo.html but I agree, much better on headphones, this one was definitely more entertaining to watch.
When people see problems, I see "innovation". "Edited: Keep the jamming with who ever going. Music is just a cool way to hang out with friends and family. Jam and Fam on Fellas
Interesting sounds. Very melodic and somehow somewhere I've heard similar rhythm's. It might of been by the band YES. Any if you haven't heard the old and the new check them out it's innovative and unpredictable similar to this cut.
Imo this track doesn't need a bassist also playing the leading line when you have both guitars. The original bass line works really well to accent the low end, complementing the guitars. But Charles made this independently of the other voicings so it's cool to hear how it all sounds together anyway.
brother just got this on my homepage and immediately realised it was you! Mantap and Polyphia plus Charles are awesome. Have you checked my first single tho? wkwk
Hey man, wow, you remember me! LOL . i just listened to Epilogue and gave you comment about that on your Instagram's post. My IG account started with H and ended with 123. LOL!
This must have been mastered on phone speakers because there's no other way the sheer thickness of stacked & slightly off sync bass/drums would have been missed 😅 Still neat to see, I just can't do it through my in-ears haha
Matching note for note what the guitar is playing is almost a Dick Move ,he’s so goood!! No one can even comment about it! Rightfully so! Fuck all these Super Talented guys !! 3:27
Not showing Polyphia's excellent bassist who is holding the low end together is kind of shit, but this is still an interesting cut. Charles' part is an amazing addition, but without the actual bass line, it would be much weaker.
charles needs an official collab with polyphia
Tim wrote a song with Baby Metal, I am absolutely sure he would work with Charles.
He’s opened-minded like that.
dual bass solo with clay? oh boy, I'm not ready
i would doubt it would happen unless tim really liked charles music, unless charles was an ibanez artist or neuraldsp or something then they would probably collab since its business
Pourquoi changer une équipe qui gagne? Un autre super band avec Charles et ses musiciens serait mieux, c'est juste mon avis.
@@ilham7345 imagine being clay if polyphia collab with charles...he would be like a second bassist and charles is lead bassist
He is not being an ordinary bassist here... he is a lead bassist

You did Clay dirty😂😂🔥🔥
You can see how he literally didn’t just transcribe it- he harmonised with Tim’s parts on the lower register PERFECTLY!
How completely respectful to the polyphia bass player

Aaahhh yes and nobody even talks bout it

It's probably a reference to Brooklyn 99's Mlepnos: the Clay is silent.
Clay is the drummer’s name
Oh man that was good. I'm so glad you put all 4 of em together
and this children is why mixing is important
The Part when Tim, Scott and Charles plays all together was exquisite
