A lifetime ago, we formed a rock band where I used to work. The reason? We wanted to knock the socks off of our colleagues for our company-wide Christmas party. As one of two lead singers, I wanted to sing that song since Joan Jett and I have a really similar voice. It was a huge hit! I was really proud of our performance. It is one of my all-time favorite memories... You wouldn't necessarily know it, but translators are a wild bunch xD

The best part of this song is when just her and the drums solo. I know you must know the B52's and Rock Lobster but my favorite by them is Private Idaho. If they played that, I was on the floor even if I was alone! :)

We video taped Joan when she and the runaways performed at Cerritos Colleges, early seventies. They came back to our class and watched the replay. Cool chicks. We also had Jon Waite and the Babys play at Cerritos College in 70"S, not bad for a junior college. Almost got the Eagles, but they passed and did the California Jam, 72.
Not sure if you know the Plasmatics but their front woman Wendy O. Williams is another total badass. I'm talking about blowing up cars with dynamite onstage, chainsawing guitars, wearing nothing but electrical tape, getting beat up by the cops, etc. She and Lemmy from Motorhead were really close.
I was at the theatre where and when this video was recorded. The name of the location, Capitol Theatre in NJ. It was fun to see how a video was made back then.
IMO, the reincarnation of Joan Jett is LZZY Hale. Of the new rock voices (who are dwindling), She's got the HELL and gravel of a next generation. There's plenty of "Angel" voices out there. Check out "I Like it Heavy", an Homage to old school rockers.
What was cool about Joan Jett was she wouldn’t have done something as obvious as slam the door. I can see her leaning against the door jam, smirking at him and telling him to come back when he’s ready for a shot of Jack and a jam session.
