Dennis Wilson [Beach Boys] Was the first to release any solo material - Pacific Ocean Blue - and drowned in '83. His second album, Bambu, was released only as a surprise bonus to the special edition of POB, and this track a terrific bonus track on that bonus album. Truly beautiful piece of work. ua-cam.com/video/MI3_F8Ll0Lg/v-deo.html
Frank Zappa. What can be said that hasn't already? One of music's most legendary and talented artists. As far as I am concerned, he is/was the only challenger to Brian Wilson's crown; absolutely no-one else comes close. Frank was probably the more talented, but wasn't as consistent with his work as Brian. Was not afraid to experiment - before he passed he recorded [album Dance Me This] with a Russian troupe of throat singers touring the USA, so very long before The Hu of Mongolia ever brought such sound to the world's attention. The very biggest loss music will ever endure - what extraordinary soundscapes did he take with him? This is one of his most commercial works: ua-cam.com/video/QSGl5Wp2FW4/v-deo.html
I dont want to sound callous but lots have died from drugs or stupid things like Michael - that's always sad but often their own fault. The ones I think are more tragic are people like Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, Jeff Buckley etc who were taken through accidents.
Got hugged by Michael Hutchance on stage as part of the lighting crew, met him back stage, such nice guys, got my INXS cd signed, one of my favorite all time favorite bands, esp the Shabooh Shoobah album.
This guy is a diamond, watched him perform this song live at Wembley 91 and Brixton academy 94, what an incredible performer and an awesome band, I’m so lucky to have seen and listened to Inxs , I’ll continue to listen to your music, Mitch 💙
What an awesome night, I was very lucky to get these tickets that night, heard on radio one that evening on the way home from work there was a few tickets remaining, awesome night I will never forget, INXS will always be one of the greatest rock bands that every walked this planet, I thank you 👍 Mitch
INXS, was one of the talented bands, real musicians and Micheal Hutchence was a incredible frontman a legend! Some people have it IT factor and Micheal had it in spades ♠️ RIP
INXS was on top of the world in 1988 with their Kick album. Michael Hutchence was the total package: looks, voice & stage presence. I don't mean to sound cruel, but INXS was largely fading away at the time of his death. So even if Michael had lived, I doubt the band would have had much success going forward. In addition to Kick, I recommend their album Listen Like Thieves as it has a lot of great songs on it too.
Grew up in this era when I was teenager. The Aussie bands back then. acdc , mental as anything ,cold chisel hudu gurus inxs. The flowers who changed their name to ice house. And the divinals
The video was recorded in Prague in 1987-88, just before the wall came down in Berlin. Michael was a perfect frontman for a band, and INXS was an iconic Aussie band. What a great song......
Filmed in Prague Czech Rep. At the end they are walking into Wenceslas Square, also filmed in Prague were the videos for New Sensation and Guns In The Sky! A beautiful city indeed!!
The video was recorded in Prague. The producer made Kirk replay the sax solo over 50 times in the studio, until Kirk became angry, that's what he wanted to hear, raw emotion
I have always believed that some people are here for a moment in time, but in that moment, they have touched so many lives. So perhaps for Michael, he was only here for that moment, and he did indeed touch the hearts of many. For me, at least, the 60's, 70's and 80's where the greatest time for music. After the 80's the music died for me. I couldn't tell you what is popular today, as the little I have heard, well...... I had to look for music that was music, not auto tune or a group of grown men wearing grotesque masks and screaming unintelligible words . I found it in the likes of Beth Hart, Gov't Mule, Shinedown, to name a few. So seeing legends like INXS still being appreciated, brings a smile to an old classic rocker gal. Thanks for the trip down a beautiful lane of memories. Try some Grand Funk Railroad, which I grew up listening to, and still do to this day. Wish I could transport myself back to those times and stay there....
We lived in the greatest time in human history. The space between old and new tech. Before music had run out of ideas and when people had the ability to be genuine without being shaped or censored. We still interacted with each other and weren't poisoned by social media.
Wanna blow your mind? INXS' Taste It video was banned from MTV in 1993/1994 (no one else has reacted/reviewed it yet) Love the big insert on your vlogs
Hi Cat, I just stumbled across your UA-cam channel. I've watched a dozen so far, lol. So, fun! Keep them coming! Thanks for reliving all of these awesome songs and videos from the 80s. So, many memories come seeing all them. I loved INXS it was like "my" band. I saw them in concert twice once in Salt Lake City and then the last time in the early 90s. Michael Hutchense was mister suave and with the Farriss brothers they seemed like a tight group.
2 Aussie songs that are well worth a listen from 80's... Go Betweens - Streets of Your Town and The Triffids- Wide Open Road. Like Great Southern land by Icehouse are real Aussie style and atmosphere songs..
This one was right up there with the best "make out" songs. Just find the right area to park, and put this on, and let Michael Hutchence do the rest LOL. He was another one on the too soon list (like Ian Curtis of Joy Division)
Love INXS. Michael was so handsome. This is one of my favorites by them. Can you react to The Fixx "Saved By Zero" I love The Fixx. Oh and please react to Naked Eyes "Promises, Promises" I love that song.
Hi Cat, I remember them saying that they had wanted to film in Vienna, but ended up doing it in Prague. These European places are so atmospheric aren’t they?
My favourite radio station in Brisbane Australia had listeners vote for Australia's greatest band, it was Inxs, AC/DC came 3rd. Queen won the rest of the world.
You need to listen to more of INXS music. They were the IT Band in the late 80s and early 90s. In order of time starting with the earliest are as follows: STAY YOUNG, TO LOOK AT YOU, BURN FOR YOU, THE ONE THING, LISTEN LIKE THIEVES, KISS THE DIRT, WHAT YOU NEED, DEVIL INSIDE, NEW SENSATION, MYSTIFY, NEED YOU TONIGHT, THE JULY 1991 WEMBLEY LIVE CONCERT, SUICIDE BLONDE, THE STAIRS, BEAUTIFUL GIRL. I will get back with some more.
@@PjRjHj not many locals in the centre of Prague but plenty of bars, clubs and hotels and the ones that are love the buzz...much like Amsterdam or central London or any city centre really 🤷😃
INXS were incredible and had a sound all their own. I remember the girls in my class being absolutely nuts for Michael...but it was just based on appearance and atmosphere. Unfortunately the real Michael was a pretty hard dude to be around with his sex and drug addictions.
It was winter 1988/9 - just before the Velvet revolution - they rented the Minucipal House (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Municipal_House) for a week and made there 3 videos - Never tear us apart, new sensation (on the balcony of the house) ua-cam.com/video/azfG5H-pCVg/v-deo.html and Guns in the sky (in coridors) ua-cam.com/video/FBje_3aRdgg/v-deo.html
Mind if I react to your question abou what he could've brought had he not died? I genuinely believe it was kinda over, not that he wasn't good enough or anything anymore, but after the taxi driver incident Michael struggled with keeping an severe brain damage secret. You, at least I think to, notice a darker mood in his lyrics songs he has written after the incident. And it was his free spirited and boyish character that enabled him to write these great songs. Again, this is how I feel and think about it, I could be wrong, probably am and nobody has to agree with me, but just wanted to comment my opinion.
I wonder what could have been. Which other artist left us too soon?
Honestly, too many to name

Far too many.

The hair on Michael Hutchence, what a beautiful man, in all of the ways, such talent
Got hugged by Michael Hutchance on stage as part of the lighting crew, met him back stage, such nice guys, got my INXS cd signed, one of my favorite all time favorite bands, esp the Shabooh Shoobah album.

Wow Brixton academy must have been amazing, I lived around the corner and saw a few bands there great venue!

This just showed up on my UA-cam feed! The Loved One Brixton academy 94
These guys were a breathe of fresh air when they first came out.
Music that spoke to the soul. The line, "If I hurt you, I'll make wine from your tears" is just xxx.
I remember standing across the road from the Cathedral at his funeral thinking that this will be history.
INXS was on top of the world in 1988 with their Kick album. Michael Hutchence was the total package: looks, voice & stage presence. I'm late to the party but INXS what a fantastic band!!
Someone's probably answered this already but the video was shot in Prague!!
Some of the greatest lyrics ever written in that song ❤️
They filmed this in Prague. I always loved this song and yes, you are absolutely correct. His was a great loss.
Prague, The Czech Republic during autumn/winter.
This video was filmed in Prague, Czechoslovakia. Beautiful song.
This song started playing at work, musak radio station. Forgot how good this song was. The Kick album was one hit after another.
I love this song. The synth is so hauntingly beautiful. I miss INXS.
And the pause at 2:02 is one of the most suspenseful moments in any INXS track.
Love this song. It still tears me up about Michael Hutchence.
My goodness, you hit it right on the head. This song was the start of my first ever REAL love.
Awww
Saw them live outdoor concert in Mandurah West Australia in ‘92 I think (or 93?) best concert I ever went to
Grew up in this era when I was teenager. The Aussie bands back then. acdc , mental as anything ,cold chisel hudu gurus inxs. The flowers who changed their name to ice house. And the divinals
It was shot in Prague , so was the videos for New Sensation and Guns in the sky !👍
Powerful voice , beautiful guy and such a loss. 🙏
I remember that all the girls in my school loved Michael Hutchence and I was very jealous of him.
"I told you
That we could fly
'Cause we all have wings
But some of us don't know why"
Glad you are back reacting My fav
Outstanding lyrics! 🎶
The video was recorded in Prague in 1987-88, just before the wall came down in Berlin. Michael was a perfect frontman for a band, and INXS was an iconic Aussie band. What a great song......
respect to Aussie band INXS… they had so many great tracks… saw them live in my hometown in Adelaide, South Australia in 87… RIP Michael 🙏🏻
Filmed in Prague!
thank you, i was going to ask if anyone knew what city it was
Yep. Great Aussie band.
Proud to be an Aussie and Port Adelaide supporter. This is our theme song.
Oh how many dances over the years to this song Video was filmed in Prague
WoW!!! your reaction is very heartfelt and with a lot of love for this track... especially for the eternal ✨Michael Hutchence✨....
Thank you Cat for one of the best songs of a generation
You are so sweet and kind . Thank you !!
Filmed in Prague Czech Rep. At the end they are walking into Wenceslas Square, also filmed in Prague were the videos for New Sensation and Guns In The Sky! A beautiful city indeed!!
Some left us more, some less but we never forget them
The 80s / 90s version of Jim Morrison of the doors the looks the style not to mention the sins
Love this song I still have all my 45’s and the Kick album ♥️Michael was beautiful RIP
The video was recorded in Prague. The producer made Kirk replay the sax solo over 50 times in the studio, until Kirk became angry, that's what he wanted to hear, raw emotion
I love INXS, New Sensation is also a great song from the same album
Technically the best song they've ever done IMHO, but not by much, *everything* they did was excellent.
Really feeling this song. Huge classic. Thank you!
Just watched the film about INXS , good movie , great song !
Simple song. but great song✌
bittersweet...the cemetary view with the saxophone says it all.. oh by te way it was filmed in Prague.

It was filmed in Prague, same as new sensation

My favourite INXS track.
Thank you Cat🌸🌟🌸

Awesome song!! INXS is a great band!!
These guys grew up not far from where I live.
Inxs forever
This was filmed in The Czech republic, in Prague.
The kick album in one of my favorites from top to bottom.
It is, but Shabooh Shoobah and Listen Like Thieves I think are better
GO THE CROWS!!
hehehe "Never tear up our tarps"
Love INXS. Michael was so handsome. This is one of my favorites by them. Can you react to The Fixx "Saved By Zero" I love The Fixx. Oh and please react to Naked Eyes "Promises, Promises" I love that song.

A song you want to slow dance to with your high school sweetheart!
New sensation and guns in the sky video also filmed in Prague
I love you so much Cat! I wish you would do more videos!
Inxs 💖
Just superb song
Michael was actually set on doing more acting, something I think he would have been good at. He had the temperament to do it
A staple of 80s for me is shriekback song actung....
My favourite radio station in Brisbane Australia had listeners vote for Australia's greatest band, it was Inxs, AC/DC came 3rd. Queen won the rest of the world.
Wow!
Where did Brisbane giants The Go-Betweens and The Saints fit in the pecking order?
It was always my plan to get married and play this at my wedding, but i never got there, lol.
Love this song by michael and INXS🌹

I rang my mama in Australia from the bridge where this was filmed in Prague...
Amazing!!
Prague was "the" party city in 89-90...right on the cutting edge of glasnost.
They and Depeche Mode are my top 2 favourite!
Yes!!!!
Hello Cat..UR STILL D GROOVIEST CHICK REACTER OUT THERE! Thanks for ur input.🇨🇱⚘
It was recorded in Prague.
Prague, while it was still behind the iron
It was winter 1988/9 - just before the Velvet revolution - they rented the Minucipal House (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Municipal_House) for a week and made there 3 videos - Never tear us apart, new sensation (on the balcony of the house) ua-cam.com/video/azfG5H-pCVg/v-deo.html and Guns in the sky (in coridors) ua-cam.com/video/FBje_3aRdgg/v-deo.html

the city you see in the video is PRAGUE .
Wish we could slow dance back at prom. No perv. 😙
At around 37sec i could tell that you had just watched the clip and were still a bit raw.
Phew. I know, right?
It looks like Prague I think, pity about the architecture, right?
Thanks cat . Classic
You bet!
