Today we go over Once Humans season wipes and how they work and whether or not they may or may not be good for the game. what do you guys think? I think it need sto be longer cycles and they need to let people stay who haven't finished or don't want to try next season.
Don't you think it will get stale? once you reach the end? For 6 months. I mean i think everyones suggestions are valid. Its a survival game with mmo elements from my perspective. others come to it as an mmo with survval. I suggest not forcing people off and letting people choose isn't that win win? Wipes are a great thing to keep games fresh and interesting look at Rust for instance. It can be done. but i'm not saying you are wrong. but Once human is more than your standard mmo imo
For sure I agree probably additive is better, but I'm down to try something new I feel like once human is trying it and I'm here to see where it goes. I ended up playing arkpoc for monthly wipes because it was more interesting for me. But originally I hated wipes on Ark too. For sure I'm biased. So I think most agree with your perspective and it's very valid.
Hell yeah good idea separating the way it works for pvp and pve. I think more games should separate the two as one size doesn't fit all. I hope we get news on it soon. And that's so true if someone is casual playing and comes back to nothing they would drop it asap. Your right my perspective is very warped I think haha 😄
@ktpp123I am on phase 2. 4 days until phase 3. Roughly 80+ hours dropped, there is already NOTHING worthwile doing. Literally just waiting for extra starchrom have found every hidden item on the map weapons and gear max calibrated on a pvp server. There is hardly any pvp content and open world pvp has no incentive. Edit, I will be grinding the hard mode when it comes but once I find my preferred calibration it will be back to nothing to do, as far as I know calibrations will not transfer season to season so no point in farming something with controllers unless for fun, which is not fun cause the pve is also dead easy imo.
@GZ187 I mean, that's what happens when you play a game a lot. It's literally the introduction season where they show us the basics bit after bit and let us learn the game. For casuals, 6 weeks is actually a bit tight with the amount of stuff to discover and farm. Take your time and enjoy the sights. Make a pretty base and take things slow every now and then.
Well that sucks.... I started this game a week ago, never knew about the server wipes. Guess that's that. I am not starting all over every few months. :( I work 48 hours a week... I just got my home in game looking good. Was really getting into exploring and crafting... Now... I seriously lost all motivation to keep playing. I am not gonna rush-grind every 6 weeks just to start ALL OVER at lvl 1 at the end of the season. Oh well. The week I spent with the game was amazing. Glad I saw someone in world chat talking about the wipes, otherwise I woulda kept playing and been oblivious until the wipes happened. lol. I really think wipes should just be on PvP servers...
I'm highly skeptical about the wipe and expect I'll quit the game after. Being forced to start over is more like being punished than fun. I'm already burning out on the grind and do not want to go through it all again.
Everyone complains about once human doing this when yall haven’t even seen it yet but it’s okay for Conan exiles, ark, rust, etc to do wipes. Like why tf are yall crying about this game but won’t say shit about the rest? Hypocrites. A survival game isn’t meant for you to have everything and be invincible. That makes survival games boring af.
@InsidiousRebel then they need to let us make us own servers coz majority of people don't play on official on those games u mentioned, we rather spend money and hire servers from nitrado and the like to avoid playing with random ppl
Lets just see World of Warcraft, the levels dmg counters, gear lvls just went up to million of numbers. It was a chaos, maximum level was 120. I couldn't even check my dmg properly cause it said "xy spell deals 23.456k dmg". Likewise, brainmelting to follow such numbers. I don't mind wipe or fresh start with the last season gear to another season. But definitely I'd cry over about my house but I don't mind to build another house too. We will see how it works. I feel like they has an idea for good. You can move to better place, getting more effective house and neeeeeew place. Its always amazing to exploring places, stuffs.
HOD said it himself there is just not enough time to complete the content within the 6 weeks. Not everybody can play the game 12 hours or more a day. It's not about losing anything it's about not being able to complete the content, before each wipe. The casuals with kids and jobs, were thrown to the side by the devs with this decision.
i feel if they worked it in where all my loot and ranks stay but with each season comes a new campaign with house bp ready to go, each season you could upgrade your house a little bit more till you have a large complex at the end of campaign including weapons and armor benches, i can replay the campaign again once completed or continue on the new updates. would make me happy enough with wiping maps.
To me it appears to be yet another game developed for the person who is capable of dedicating %80-90 of their time to gaming, gone are the days of the casual gamer.
I dislike being rushed, especially in a survival game. I'm not one to speed through the main questline, I like doing all those side quests and work on my house in between. I was yesterday years old when I figured out how to change ammo lol. At this rate I may hit 50 by the end of the season.
well... there is not much survival in this game, at least in PVE :D Its not a big deal to eat something and drink something periodically. The game is full of thrashmobs, if you just keep doing the missions naturally as they come, the game offers zero or very low challenge. I even did an experient and went to level 25 area while I was level 10, and still could do it fine (except the big bosses). But I agree, I also dont like being force pushed forward because of a "timer"
@@acanthita2978 why would you do that, its not like metal gear solid level story telling or anything lmao. the entire story is quick pointless little dialogues of "go here, kill thing, get item, come back". yeah def gotta experience that story for myself!
@@JohnHurt-ym5jq actually no, its not. but cause most people never got past most of the first areas, "if your a completionist" then your not going to even finish the story before the game changes.
Everything about this game is great so far except for this whole wipe thing it's so frustrating before I know about it I played nonstop I even pulled an all nigher but after I knew about it I barely have the will to play..
you will be able to keep a drop of your crafting mats and ammo to the next season. but yea there are lots of good games out there if youre done with this.
@@mdnp-grid487 im not sure how we will be able to keep our mats because the game wont let you do anything with mats in eternaland accept sell them for currency that you use to craft stuff in eternaland and stuff crafted in eternaland can never leave eternaland.
I just don't understand the wipes. I want to enjoy this game, but I have not been interested to go back and grind all the same places again, I was enjoying progressing forward. The cutscenes are not good and just get in the way, once i've seen them, I don't want to talk to every npc again and again... I'm watching to see where this game goes because for me I was having alot of fun until it all reset.
yes i think it is one of those watch and see things we need more clarity on how it will look. and i agree i dont want to redo the whole quest line again
@@darthvocrum5719 It will be different parts of the map we are on now. The areas we can't get to like the volcano looking area. And from what other have said, looks like their will be rerun season. No way in heck we can have new storyline, voices, etc every 6 weeks.
The problem with this is there is no form of base decay so people who play, build a base, and then quit leaves their base behind. People are already having trouble joining servers let alone finding a good spot in the beginning to build a base.
@@Karma-Code they had a decay rate and if you log back in you could rebuild your base. For some reason they took it out. This is from what I read from a beta tester.
If you buy cosmetics you can't use them on other servers. You have to buy them again. I spent like 40 bucks on cosmetics just to not be able to use them on the server my friends are on
They did brush on that. They're trying to make it account wide. As long you're playing on that account you'll have it for any other character across the servers
if you read their info they post on discord, steam, or their website, they said they are working on it and it should be out in august. I know how hard development is, so it may be later, but complaining about something they are literally working on is a bit childish
Yeah I don't wanna keep doing the same map over and over again. If that's how it's gonna be I'll never get to the higher lvl area as I can't play hours on end everyday.
I love taking my time doing all the stuff in the game but everything feels pointless because it will be erased in a few weeks. I hope they finde something else to make it work without losing anything but a few things every 6 weeks. I don't see myself playing again after the wipe.
Imagine beeing a new player and starting the game now in phase 4. You can instantly leave because you will be reset in 2 weeks. This is a big problem of the wipes. You are forced to play every week in order to stick with the content. you cannot even leave during a season. Imagine beeing at work or holiday during a running season. You miss essential parts of the game. Sure other games have time gated content as well, but theese are just events that return every few weeks or months.
Not against the concept of server resets, but 6 weeks is way to quick. A quarterly time frame (3 months) would be perfect for most players. Hardcore players will still burn through the content super fast no matter what. With longer seasons you would be more likely to get more casual players (which to be honest is most players).
after playing video games for many more years then i want to admit to , its seemed like the hardcare type player always rushes through, then they are looking for a new thing,
Is that a season is not 3 months in real life. So we expect that would be 5 week. however, i really doubt the quality of the coming content. 6 week even is not enough for fixing all bugs in a game. Bugs are found by the actual playing. I am at phase4 and already hesitate to play bcs it will not enough time and do not want to play under pressure. BTW, I support them and bought the pass, I may not to play it in next season.
For PVP remove blueprints, but for PVE I would leave them. The biggest issue I have right now as you said is getting the people who got on, then left have a permanent spot on the server. We have a couple buddies who we are trying to play with and it's not possible till the wipe. Acid drops in higher areas have been a slight problem as well. And don't even get me started on the apple seeds. This is the first game I have gotten into a farming mechanic. I spent a couple of hours just cutting down apple trees and still have yet to get any. It is genuinely frustrating. But wonderful video! Very informative. And love this game. I haven't been this excited about a game in awhile.
I just started playing this week and I'm really loving the game, but 6 weeks is not long enough! I have a full-time job like many I'd assume and I won't even be able to max my character in 6 weeks. 3 months should be the length as suggested in your video.
I can understand the BPs becoming a problem in PvP, however I feel like alot of the game's grind is centered around getting blueprints and making stronger guns and stuff, especially when it comes to getting those extra stars on your blueprints. It's kind of like carrying a trophy to the next season that tells other players that I've played up to this point, and it makes the grind of getting those higher level blueprints worth it. Maybe a better system would be to make it so that you keep those blueprints in PvE content, but reset everyone in PvP servers respectively? There would probably be a better way of doing it than this simple explanation but, in PvE servers I feel like BPs won't be a problem compared to PvP servers.
This is not the type of game that was made for wipe seasons and that's pretty clear. I'm sure that more than half of the current player base doesn't want this wipe system. If they still decide to go that route, they will also be wiping their game out of the market. I've purchased the battle pass, not because the rewards were nice, but because the game is absolutely amazing and I really think it should go forward. All things considered, I'll be quitting the game if I get wiped 3 weeks from now.
I'm holding off on the battle pass until they figure out what direction the game will go in. If they figure out the whole wipe system to the point where the player base is satisfied and I know the game isn't going away any time soon then I'll "push the button" on the battle pass.
@@treeb7951 I went on for the battle pass because of their solid work so far. Even with this first season, I believe it was worth paying for their efforts. But as I said... If they go ahead with their wipe system, then I'm out.
@HOD I've played 132.7 hours and only level 36. Just cleared all the missions with Meyer Market....plenty of content to go. I do like the idea of new players getting bonus xp multiplier. Although, with a six week cycle I'll vote with my wallet, and not spend one brass razzo.
If you keep playing you'll get better and can reach max level in just 24 hours of playing. I am sure some people do it in much less time than that but that's where I am currently.
Here’s my take. 6 weeks will probably end up being a sort of special event thing. Right now it’s summer vacation time for most of the world, so it makes sense to capitalize on this free time most of their target players have. Later on, I think the devs will have the discipline and acceptance to adapt the seasons to people’s lifestyle. Secondly, for people that think each season will be some sort of big overhaul, yeah I don’t think so…yet Idk how they coded the game, so potentially they’ve structured the overarching architecture with that in mind. To me, season wipes are a good thing if done right. It allows for iterative refinement of game mechanics, quests, items etc. Meaning, the game will essentially be developed by players. Most likely case scenario, this current season is just like a beta test, taken to the world. I have fun with this game, feels really addictive and some pressure regarding time, like I have to hurry up before it’s over. So yeah, hopefully seasons will last more time, or just keep the seasons to 6 weeks but delay the wipe. Like a wipe every 2 or 3 seasons kind of thing. But I personally don’t mind regrinding resources and levels. It’s an opportunity to learn how to be more efficient. It’s just like Ark, except I got bored of Ark (and similar, *cough* palworld) because eventually you just max out and run out of things to do, then your options are basically start a new save or uninstall the game.
Who don't like wipes, still be whining about them. And here not so much thing to do for so long period. And for sake why you need XP boost? You literaly for few days can achieve max lvl.
I was really enjoying this game until i heard about the season wipe... this game would be fun if they did not wipe everything like levels and materials or any hard-earned stuff.. if anything they should look at fallout 76 because this game is similar to that game like just make new level caps or something and if you wanna change the map like fortnite then wipe the map but allow us to get to choose a new location to place our base before we can start or put it in a save print along with materials let us keep that with the gear and weapons while adding new stuff that is better.
The problem with this is the new players. Is it fair for you to camp that jellyfish bus at Lv.60 at the beginning of a season and a curious Lv.10 gets annihilated by you?
Which hard-earned stuff? Blueprints? It's stay. Mods? Same it's with you. Matts? You can transfer them to new season, and here just no any hard earned matts. The most important it's BPs, mods and as i remember correct even attachment will stay.
brining in blue prints is not as op as you think you still need to get the high end materials to make the "end game" weapons. at first you will be making a tear 1 version of the weapon or armor.
You forgot some huge things: 1) With higher lvl of blueprint weapon has more dmg output 2) With blupeprint which you got you can have another of this to upgrade it lvl. Here main thing for which peeps are grinding it's blueprints, mods and this stays with you and also you can take matts to new season. So no need to make drama from nothing.
I think that if Once Human had the mechanics of PoE (Path of Exile) then it would be top game to play casually. Imagine after the end of the season your character with everything you own and all your progress in game till that point goes to the "Standard" server with all the quest lines etc etc. Then new season starts. Now it's up to you if you want to play in the new season from scratch with new character, or just keep playing at "Standard" server to finish your quests or just play the game on your own pace!! Lastly when that new season (2nd) changes and a new one (3rd) is running, then at some point you get that season 2 patch on the "Standard Server". Maybe not all the mechanics cause then "Standard" server would be chaotic as seasons pass but at least the new quests/story lines and some new mechanics could stay. 3 months min for wipe is a MUST !!!!! (totally agree with that) Did I make sense? (I hope) Do I wish for much? (maybe)
Don't like the wiped? Go play one of the many many games that don't do it. I love the concept and think it will keep everything fresh. Hope they dont scrap the concept because of complainers.
I like that you like it but if everyone that doesn't like it leave there won't be a player base = devs make no cash shop sales = servers will be shut down so you liking a stupid idea that will kill the game is irrelevant
@RIPPERwBFG You act like seasonal content is a novel concept. They're some of the most successful games out there. Almost nobody plays the unwiped servers in games like PoE with too options. Everyone will have everything maxed out and content gets stale.
@@Pastrahmy not saying wipes are bad but when people say the are gonna quit if the game wipes and it wipes anyway then it's a suicide this game won't survive it, ark private servers wipe and I play them but that's for pvp and poe is an arpg wipes just work for the genre
one thing about the blueprint transferal I think people are forgetting is that based on the tier of the weapon there is a level requirement. at first glance it would seem like players from previous seasons would have an unfair advantage, but since our level gets wiped also, even if you have the blueprint for an end-game rifle from a previous season for example, if its got a level 30 lvl requirement, even if you went out of your way ahead of time and didn't die in the process of gathering resources, you couldn't use it until lvl 30. so yeah, you'll be able to get that late game LMG you had last season, but only once you're the appropriate lvl.
First off, I am totally blown away with Once Human and the fact it's a F2P game. Sure, it has a lot of rough edges but the potential and scope is all there. With that said, the 6-week wipe just doesn't work for me at all. I started a few days ago and I've spent the majority of my time just roaming around exploring, constructing and tearing down my base 100x, trying to complete each and every quest and stronghold, etc. I'm just a completionist at heart. Obviously, I started to watch UA-cam videos about the game and I quickly realized there is NO way I'll ever make it to endgame unless I'm just grinding it out. The entire time I'm playing I just have this urgency to GO GO GO. Fishing event? No time for that! Exploring the beauty of the world? Screw that... must push faster and faster. I can't afford to miss out on any of the endgame stuff. I'm OK with seasons but in this type of game I just don't see it working the way they are trying to do it. Many will say, well this game isn't for you then. Well, you are right I guess because as a casual gamer that can only play 20 hours a week I will never be able to finish a season. Now I'm in a position of playing a game I'm enjoying immensely but knowing it's all going to disappear so why even bother. To me, it's satisfying knowing I completed every quest and gotten those nice little green check marks on all the strongholds as I've leveled up. I'm level 29 but I've barely scratched the surface on things to do. I know this game isn't for everyone but I find it hard to believe it's geared only for hardcore gamers especially with cosmetics being their only source of profit. I think a HUGE portions of the community will fill alienated and will just quit or not even bother giving the game a chance. I wasn't going to play at all but I did and got hooked unfortunately. I just truly hope they look at the feedback the players are providing and make a compromise or change their stance. Until then, I'll just play as I can... entire time, listening to that proverbial clock ticking in my head.
Τhis is ridiculous. It's okay to wipe every 6 weeks or 3-4 months to clean the servers and so on. But to have to grind over and over again from the beginning is ridiculous. Many of us don't have the time to do the same thing over and over again even if the content changes. There are different types of players, pvpers, pveers, builders, farmers etc. I personally am a builder I spend my time designing houses. What's the point after the wipe to still have the blueprints since I have to grind not just materials but all the other necessary stuff like memetics and so on. Like many others, I don't have the time to do this every 6 months and let's not be ridiculous they are not going to change the whole game in 6 weeks and they are not going to do this EVERY 6 weeks. This probably means that I will uninstall the game if things don't change, as others will do (many have already done so). I already don't even have the motivation to play anymore I did the grind "for no reason" in the end. I have 84.8 hours in the game in a small amount of time, to be able to unlock everything I need, plus memetics, to be able to do what I wanted to do in the game: build/design houses. Now, it just doesn't make sense to do it.
The game is good and i really love the theme and the care put into the world but idk if i will stay in after Season 1 since it really is more of a main game type of game and requires you to put it X hours a week consistently. especially if you are a solo player and don't have a hive to help out
I'm trying to keep an open mind and see how the details work out. I almost passed on this game because of this issue. I agree 6 weeks is way to soon. 6 months maybe. I'm enjoying the game so far but I don't think I'll stick with it unless the wipes go much better than I fear. Thanks for the video.
Totally agree, to start from scratch doing everything, one just did, ah not a thrilling idea, and (you still got loot boxes, chop trees and and mine rocks not a lot one can change to make that different) Here's an Idea for the casual players Maybe make some persistent servers, and some with different time frames like you suggest 2 months 3 months etc, let one choose which server you want play on. sure you don't get the new content for say a 6 month server (until its wiped at the 6 month mark) but your choice.
In phase 3 rn and I feel like I've pretty much covered the whole map and even beaten the lvl 60 stronghold in the north, with what carries over (any currency except links, mods, all blueprints/fragments, and the knowledge I've accrued) I'm not worried one bit about the reset and guarantee I will be much further than where I'm at now by early phase 2 next season.
That being said, I have basically skipped the first areas and went straight to silo alpha and started from there so I still have the bosses and story quests to do 😅
Also I think it's already choice cause if you notice people who join new servers are only phase 1 the seasons are server based I believe from what I'm looking into
I have been playing for 4 weeks on a novice server for about 3hr/day. I'm at level 40 and really enjoying it. Bought 2 epic blueprints and trying out farming. I think a wipe in a couple of weeks will be fine I'm looking forward to it. If I can take some mining tools and my blueprints across to the new game I will be very pleased. For me it's all about the exploration. I usually leave a game when I have seen everything. The wipe will freshen up the game and I can try on a harder level. Cool.
I love your voice, but I can hear the excitement in your voice and breath. Relax,.. take a deep breath,... it's all good! Keep up the good work! Ima follow you.
I just rolled another character to play with Lizard and i actually didn't mind started from new again. Gear is limited to an amount of currency available in eternal land, also all you ingame currency is converted in to sand in eternal land.
yeah i think for the first few times it wont be bad but i just hope there is some big variety to change it up. but im kind of down for whatever as long as we can all get on server together soon :D
They say the wipe is to keep things fair but it will never be that way bc u keep blueprints and in game knowledge. so to me this hole wipe thing is to extend there 50hrs of game play, yes i did all quest and hit lvl cap in 53hrs. like many others im here for one season only if that, bc im all ready done and nothing to do but grind kinda sucks just running from POI to POI and opening boxes.
it's an even split if you can choose your season great for new players so they can start at season 1 for the players that have been playing they will go with the new seasons or if they really like it stay with a certain season new player here can't wait to try hope every 1 has fun in their own way
I do agree, they need to make the sections of seasons at least 2 weeks per. I pretty much play every day after work but my son/nephew just can't get on as much so I outpace them or have to just do other things while waiting for them to catch up. Also There just isn't any way for me to do all the content in a week and I play A LOT. Still though, enjoying the game more than any in a long time.
6 weeks before a wipe is insane even if we do keep basically everything by transferring it to eternaland accept our character progression. I would imagine the majority of players are never going to even make it to end game before a wipe.
they need to rethink this entire system. and bullshit, there is no way they are going to REMAKE the entire map, quests, and new features EVERY 6 WEEKS! No one is going to play a PvE Grinding game that gets reset every 6 weeks, some with actual lives already struggle to finish games, 6 weeks is insane.
The problem with the dual environments would be the multiple servers and worlds on each server that would have to be maintained. It would be very expensive to have both sets of old and new environments at the same time. You have so many servers / worlds right now, and friends trying to play together, so you would have to transfer whole hives and you would probably miss people who only team up for events or large fights. There's no way to be sure the multiple crossed friends lists were real or just one time things.
I don't mind the wipe, my main game is star citizen But I think even if you come in a week or two before wipe your still learning the game as well as having the ability to bring some stuff with you into the next to aid you
great video , and I think the same about it . 6 weeks is absolutely to short , specially for people with families job etc or who just wanna discover everything on the map without to hurry for the whipe , so longer cycles yes pleaseee , mentioned it many times too , or world where you can go, where you don't loose youre progression and can continue to finish the story and go to new season adventure in same world . I have no idea how the whipe will be and to start again levelling , can imagine it would be a turn off for alot people .
I think the blueprint transfer is specifically/only being allowed because there are some BPs that can be bought using real money microtransactions, and since it wipes so frequently, that would likely decrease the MT sales if they didn't allow cash-purchased items to be kept. It also adds the FOMO factor of having the best gear from early seasons to show off/get a head start, which may cause some players who start late in the wipe to panic-buy the BPs for cash since they know they won't get them before the season ends otherwise. Just my theory, though.
@@mdnp-grid487 Gotta make people want to buy a BattlePass, after all... There's the Hunter's Spider set, which DOES have unique set bonuses, as well as BPs for home furniture/utility stuff that can't be gotten otherwise, and of course the silver keys, which can be used to buy more unlocks (emotes and stuff, subject to change). Only obtainable by RMT. It's not BAD, but it's... not the first time we've seen a game start out this way with just the tiniest little toe over the line, as it were... Look at Fallout 76 for an example there... same exact promises, too.
@@mdnp-grid487 Alright. Lemme know where I can pick up the modern bookcase BP then, would ya? Just offhand? (And maybe the other ones and emotes you can only get there... but mainly the furniture/decoration BPs?) I'd love to get the full set bonuses off the spider set too, but that's being greedy, I suppose. (And that's the key, I might add. Set bonuses = advantage only obtainable through money. Even a small, hardly significant thing like that is one toe in the water, as it were, towards going full P2W through tiny changes. Get gamers to accept 0.1, then 0.2, then 0.4, and so on until you're at full P2W level, gradually snuck in by increments.) Look at FO76 as an example... started the same way, promising the same thing. Cosmetic only... now we can buy XP boosters/weight limit reducers, even armor boosting bits and blueprints for guns, armor, you name it. All in the "Atom" shop. I don't want to see Once Human go down that same road. If it even LOOKS like it's doing that... no.
I think keeping the blueprints is fine because imagine I grind to get to endgame and get a really good blueprint but some other player didn't and now we both get the same start cuz it's not fair that I have better stuff then him. I think if u put in the time to grind for things then u should be able to keep it or some of it and have that advantage
I guess with transferring materials and other items to Eternaland it will give you a Boost , I've been playing roughly about 50 hrs, and from my understanding, you can place regular materials and weapons on your eternaland, then when wipe comes, you can transfer some items( you are not starting from scratch). But yeah Wiping is ok mostly for PvP only. That would be a great QOL.
The wipes do have me wondering if I will continue with the game. I do not understand the perception of the developer that they want to wipe so everyone is starting at the same point in the new season when that is not actually factual. After all we get to keep our blueprints and other items we unlocked. So when the servers wipe they can import those items back into the playable area,, well if we all have different level blueprints unlocked then we are not really starting at the same level are we? I am not an individual who likes repetition. If I am just doing the same thing again and again, well I won't bother. I will wait and see what the actual impact is, but If I loose all my deviant's and other stuff I worked to gather, then I am out.
They should just add a base deteriorating mechanic where you need to add basic resources like wood and stone to your base core or it will fall apart and dissappear after about an irl month and make gear levels in pvp not matter. That way new players can join and not get annihilated and if you have not played in a while your base is not blocking people from building. Also make those respawn camp sites despawn after 8 hours, it is a temporary spawn no need to keep it up forever.
I been playing for a few days and just found out yesterday that it has wipes. Idk if I'll continue. 6 weeks is too quickly. I don't wanna lose all my sh*t. I work a lot and don't get to play much, my wife and I play casually for fun which this game definitely gives, so a wipe that often just makes me not want to waste my time. Edit: I would probably keep playing if they changed it to every 3 months at least (like stated in your vid). The option to choose to move on to the next season is an event better idea, that way us casual gamers get the chance to experience everything. But as of now, I'm struggling to keep my motivation... Which sucks because Once Human is such a good game... 😢
Very important video, thank you. There is NO WAY the devs can keep up 6 week content cycles over time. The wipes are going to burn players and devs out alike. I am really enjoying this game, but I don't see how it could possibly sustain a solid player base, let alone generate enough content to give it longevity. At least with a traditional mmo world model, you build up a massive co tent library over time that nee players can be excited to dive into.
I think I'm fine with the wipe, honestly, though I do wish the season limit was longer, if only to give me more time to collect blueprints/mods/deviants (I know those don't carry over, but I still want to collect them all). I found that even playing only a few hours, if you do all of the content and explore everything, you can level up pretty quickly. If you try to skip ahead to just get to the endgame, you'll have more trouble leveling, I think. In regards to blueprints and such carrying over, and maybe this is because I solely do PVE, but if you're not PVPing, it really doesn't matter what gear someone else has, to me. I've played on wipe games before, and it isn't the leveling up that tends to bother me, it's having to start out from square one with everything. If I have to start over at 1, but I can at least have some decent gear and I'm not running around in rags, I'm okay with it, as it means I will level up that much faster. I also don't mind doing content over. I mean, that's what people have been doing on my server, running prime wars or silos again and again, and raid type stuff on other games. Also, as I have been fortunate enough to be on a good server with helpful players, sometimes it's nice to have someone with better gear to help you through the tough fights!
it is also very limited to what you wana bring into new season because you need to use one of the currency to transfer eternal land to the new season, its not just a simple transfer over
with work and family i only play about 10 hours a week. just learning about this i'm bummed out knowing i wont be able to enjoy exploration if i want to get to the endgame every season.
Ngl, I just got the whole build for shrepnel and the perfect sniper build, and knowing I’m gonna have to go through all of it again is gonna be extremely painful, in one hand is gonna be good start from level 0, at least I’ll know what mistakes not to do once I begin from 0, on the other hand, it consumes so much time to grind from lvl 0 to 50, they could just wipe the lvls but let you keep your weapons and everything, not wipe everything you own
I have never thought about gear creep from season to season. That’s gonna be a dangerous cycle as the only thing people really have to work towards is blueprints. If your old blueprints are just bad next season what would even be the point to grind and also invest your hard earned bp frags into them
as long as blue print and mods can be brought into new season, im fine with it, because the end game content of once human will be mods hunting and blue print hunting
I mean, I get the purpose of the wipe. The map is slowly overfill by many bases and random camps. Wipe is to be expected. But what I'm having issues with is the level progress. Sure I lvl up fast in this game, but it is still very frustrating since I enjoy basebuilding the most. And many of the stuffs are locked behind the levels.
I’m still a bit confused about gear blueprints after the reset. So ALL the gear blueprints we’ve unlocked through exploration or obtained through the Wish Machine will be carried over to the next season? Or is that only possible through Eternaland? I don’t mind creating the stuff I got on tier 1 cuz I don’t mind farming for mats, but losing every blueprint, especially the ones we got through Wish Machine, really is a bummer for me.
Afaik, all blueprints you received, save from the ones you get on the memetics, will be carried over after the wipe. You can also choose the weapons you want to keep, although it wasnt mentioned just how many weapons that would be
@@burrzie8446 Assuming that the system for blueprints and mods are the same (farmable unlockables), it should carry over. Although I’m not too sure about it as the in game information doesn’t specify if the mods are included.
An a millennial, I just don't have enough time to play. I truly want to play much more and progress through the season but I just don't have enough time. Even playing from the start I feel the end of the season looming closer. I feel the domo and find myself rushing though some content instead of going it at a pace I enjoy.
I don't mind wipes at all, I would love a server which has slow progress and hard enemies. I felt like second bracket of levels 10-20 are totally skipable, I would love to be on these longer.
I'm looking forward to the wipe tbh. It will help the servers to clear unused bases and players not playing, and it's also something new. I've not finished the main story and I go on holiday next week, so not sure I'll get it finished. but the game is fun so let's keep going. My biggest problem with the game is how much things cost in the shop tbh
I'm held back by a base bug from the maintenance and they still havent fixed the issue. Lets see how many more people get game breaking bugs after the next server down time
blueprint transfer is a great idea because of the advantage you get for grinding out and playing the previous seasons a full wipe is idiotic but aslong as i keep my cosmetics and blueprints ive spent the time to get then thats all i need. Also ive been thinking 3 months is prefect not to long but enough time for even the casuals to get what they need and want
6 weeks seems good, im level 40... 2 weeks in. By week 6, I would've spent 3 weeks at max level farming a boring end game. My fave part of Palworld servers were a fresh wipe, with that you dont carry anything over. In this, they intend to allow transfer of things like blueprints for your sets and add certain content. Playing through, exploring the areas gathering starcrom and trying different builds is the gameplay loop. The people complaining would jump ship at endgame anyway, this is an attempt to try something different, im intrigued. Maybe they could've given 2 options, 6 week hardcore server seasons and constant servers that do not wipe but do no allow tranfer to Eternaland.
I can confirm , i've done everything on pve 👀 everything been everywhere and Most of the silos on lv 50 so far 160 hours And that's more than enough time.Cause I like to look everywhere 😅 And take my time It's quite lonely out There But there's something about this game that makes me wanna keep playing.I don't know why You? Can get boths in the game that gives you xp from food And you can share your blueprint so I'm free months way too long get bored I'm bored now I actually can't wait for wip It's the way the game is made , dude You have to understand this It's not gonna be everyone's cup of tea Butt definitely.Believe there should be a A time when you want to leave And do the next seasonal it's not hard to put that in place That way they keep Both sides happy
PVE should be extended more to 3 months, then turn PVP to a last man standing kind of deal where each week it gets even more intense following the 6 week thing, like bosses suddenly popping up and wreaking havoc (no blueprints, no mods, just pure skill, but the rewards are exclusive stuff like gun skins, cosmetics, heck maybe a rare deviant that can be brought onto the pve server).
One big issue that might ruin the game for people is that if you join late, your friend will definitely not get in to the same server. Unless you can move your character to a newer server or have friend join without server full notice... Good thing it's the devs do seem to listen to feedback. Hope they realize this fast wipe isn't okay for western audience. And bugs like moving base bring lost needs to be fixed asap, it's taking too long.
All new servers they have been releasing are day 1 servers this maybe what there talking about servers being staggered so if you want to start you have that option
Yes every server has its own season timer. And new servers start from week 1 day 1. Idk how it will be once season 2 has started if ylnew servers start in season 1 or 2 but we will see
As a new player, I've been diligently grinding in the game during phase 1 on a server and reached level 35. However, with the server transitioning to phase 2, there's a scheduled wipe today that I just found out about. It's frustrating to know I'll lose my levels and have to go though the skill tree and everything once again.
Omg, I fell in love in this game and was really dedicated to this so much but after reading about wipe… you know what F..O . I do not need blueprints and other shit while I have to regrind level and all that staff. Take ur time, bring content to the game and add it. We will wait. Or make a seasons for people who are fu.. try hard and have time to spend 24/7 on this game.
I am a casual player and I put in the hours. 3 weeks in 42hours game play lvl 44. 6 week is too soon. 2-3 month should be fine. I know I’ll make it to end game but I want to be able to enjoy the game and mess with builds. I have a feeling I am only gonna try one build then season reset. I know people got to lvl 50 in one week which is insane. I am in the military and have a family so I have little time to play.
1. We need server transfers for all PVE-only or PVP-only server transfers. allow for at least up to five accounts per server. 2. Make all purchases account-bound and I will not submit to the predatory practices of buying for each account. 3. Resetting a survival game makes no sense because the survival aspect is the motivation to keep playing. removing my progress is making everything I have done pointless. It's not like Diablo 4, when you just have a main account that can restart in a season and you're not really losing anything; you keep everything you earned, not just some items but all items. 4. Reduce the number of menus to too many to check. 5. Add three other game modes. Casual: no changing maps, but allow for transfers to different maps. Creative Mode is self-explanatory; create your own server mode. 6. Right now, they should offer players the option to transfer, not force them to, so that players can play at their own pace and not be forced into a new world before they are ready.
I think 2 extra weeks per phase would be better. I have an incredibly demanding full-time job. I need the extra time, and I don't think players with more time would be hurt that much. They can find something else to do while they wait. If anything, they'll be more prepare for the next phase.
I played the betas they were 3-4 months and I didn't get that far on it so 6 weeks is no where near long enuff I think it needs at least 6 month wipes it gives us time to play and get to max and end game and the developers time to sort the content out
Why does everyone miss that it says you can bring Weapons/armor and materials such as basic resources, medicine and ammo? The only thing you have to redo is the new story and explore the new map areas. You keep everything!!! It’s not that bad.
It's insane. I've barely scratched the surface of the content so far. I hope they change this, the game has so much potential.
@InsidiousRebel then they need to let us make us own servers coz majority of people don't play on official on those games u mentioned, we rather spend money and hire servers from nitrado and the like to avoid playing with random ppl
bro this isn’t diablo, atleast diablo seasons last longer and you can relax and enjoy your progress, 6weeks is borderline criminal
@@InsidiousRebel redoing the same shit over and over is boring af as well
HOD said it himself there is just not enough time to complete the content within the 6 weeks.
At this rate I may hit 50 by the end of the season.
i agree, im the same
well... there is not much survival in this game, at least in PVE :D Its not a big deal to eat something and drink something periodically.
I thinking giving us private/dedicatrd server options would solve a lot of the tension for us casuals

I'm excited about it. I guess I am a player they are targeting and you are not.. so find a different game maybe... 🤷
Its too fast atm imo. For PVE why not keep the server going and move to the new season server once people are ready?

It's why they didn't allow multi chars. Crybabies gunna cry regardless
@@JappaChow bro what are you chatting. 💀
One way to fix this would be to allow people to set up their own dedicated servers and have them choose when their servers wipe.
yeah, mabe, something needs to be better than a wipe
I also agree 6 weeks is too fast. I've JUST left the first area 3 weeks in and just finished phase 1 and halfway the phase 2. It's nuts.
Yeah or keep them as skins for pvp so you can still show what you did that could be cool. They definitely need different ruleset for both
This is not the type of game that was made for wipe seasons and that's pretty clear.
Yeah it will be interesting I got the battle pass for the same reason I want to support them. Hope they just make it longer.
Although, with a six week cycle I'll vote with my wallet, and not spend one brass razzo.
yeah i am almost certain they will extend it i feel it will be interesting to see what happens
it's very simple, follow the yellow dot and you can never be level 36 after 140 hours...
How do you have more hours into the game than me and be at level 36? Are 50 of those hours afk? I hit level 50 in about 80 hours.
If you keep playing you'll get better and can reach max level in just 24 hours of playing. I am sure some people do it in much less time than that but that's where I am currently.
@@chieftron I've been busy crafting, and doing lower level things that doesn't gain xp
Secondly, for people that think each season will be some sort of big overhaul, yeah I don’t think so…yet
Idk how they coded the game, so potentially they’ve structured the overarching architecture with that in mind.
I started playing yesterday. My season 2 starts in 4 days. Like I don’t need new I’m still going through this one
NO xp boost is needed. Just longer season periode (3-4 months) would fix most of problems.
yeah for sure this was just if they keep the 6 weeks
Who don't like wipes, still be whining about them.
And here not so much thing to do for so long period.
And for sake why you need XP boost? You literaly for few days can achieve max lvl.
I too was an Ark player, hurt like hell. never went back. so yes you are so right on this. thank you for making this vid
Yeah true good point but what about attachments they seem really strong and they aren't time gated
@@HODattachments carry over between seasons
You forgot some huge things:
1) With higher lvl of blueprint weapon has more dmg output
2) With blupeprint which you got you can have another of this to upgrade it lvl.
(totally agree with that)
Did I make sense? (I hope)
Do I wish for much?
A good third of the total play time we're gonna have on this game is gonna only be the regrind after a season wipe.
Totally agree, to start from scratch doing everything, one just did, ah not a thrilling idea, and (you still got loot boxes, chop trees and and mine rocks not a lot one can change to make that different)
Here's an Idea for the casual players Maybe make some persistent servers, and some with different time frames like you suggest 2 months 3 months etc, let one choose which server you want play on. sure you don't get the new content for say a 6 month server (until its wiped at the 6 month mark) but your choice.
Yeahh He has sooo a nice voice ❤ He needs to take a breath after a sentence tho lol
Totally agree with this. Xlent Vid! Thanks!!!
I don't mind the wipe, my main game is star citizen
But I think even if you come in a week or two before wipe your still learning the game as well as having the ability to bring some stuff with you into the next to aid you
great video , and I think the same about it .
I understand the rationale behind the season wipes, and I'm all for it. Coming from Escape from Tarkov, I eat wipes for lunch every Thursday. hahaha
Just my theory, though.
which bp can be bought with reall money? this is the biggest thing ive heard about OH
@@mdnp-grid487 BattlePass ones come to mind off-hand... especially since you can pay to advance the BP if you don't have enough time.
@@ArtemisKitty no i'm sorry the battle pass does not give any blueprints i'm sure.
Get gamers to accept 0.1, then 0.2, then 0.4, and so on until you're at full P2W level, gradually snuck in by increments.)
Look at FO76 as an example... started the same way, promising the same thing.
I have to admit I’ve only played 20 hours over 2 weeks love the game but definitely curious of it is worth my time almost don’t have time for life.
Should be 12 weeks
Long story short, this guy is happy about the seasonal wipes.
And more importantly, wants full account wipes every season.
Ngl, I just got the whole build for shrepnel and the perfect sniper build, and knowing I’m gonna have to go through all of it again is gonna be extremely painful, in one hand is gonna be good start from level 0, at least I’ll know what mistakes not to do once I begin from 0, on the other hand, it consumes so much time to grind from lvl 0 to 50, they could just wipe the lvls but let you keep your weapons and everything, not wipe everything you own
Usually 10-12 weeks is a good wipe gives people enough time to enjoy what they worked hard for
I wish they would have something like the PvE/PvP separation for wipes an no wipes servers. Or private servers you can host yourself
I don’t mind creating the stuff I got on tier 1 cuz I don’t mind farming for mats, but losing every blueprint, especially the ones we got through Wish Machine, really is a bummer for me.
your stuff not gonna wiped out people talking shit
Afaik, all blueprints you received, save from the ones you get on the memetics, will be carried over after the wipe. You can also choose the weapons you want to keep, although it wasnt mentioned just how many weapons that would be
@@lunarialucille3066 I see. Do you also keep the mods you got or you have to farm them again?
@@burrzie8446 Assuming that the system for blueprints and mods are the same (farmable unlockables), it should carry over. Although I’m not too sure about it as the in game information doesn’t specify if the mods are included.
An a millennial, I just don't have enough time to play. I truly want to play much more and progress through the season but I just don't have enough time. Even playing from the start I feel the end of the season looming closer. I feel the domo and find myself rushing though some content instead of going it at a pace I enjoy.
The idea comports with game well, meta waking up after being something to be something again, adventuring in some new reality that's fine.
the blueprint’s have level caps to make so you have it but cant make it until you at the lvl required.
Now I can see why they made Eternalland. Basically using the map as a storage for your stuff so imma take all my stuff
Lets see how many more people get game breaking bugs after the next server down time
Dawn sorry to hear I thought they fixed and gave stuff to people who had issue 😕
I just love how they’re tying things new. Very innovative.
them taking this risk rewards us with something refreshing to enjoy
blueprint transfer is a great idea because of the advantage you get for grinding out and playing the previous seasons a full wipe is idiotic but aslong as i keep my cosmetics and blueprints ive spent the time to get then thats all i need. Also ive been thinking 3 months is prefect not to long but enough time for even the casuals to get what they need and want
Thank you for the informative video
thanks hope it wasnt too long
6 weeks seems good, im level 40...
They should give us a choice if want to wipe and move on or continue where we are with our levels and items.
That's a good point so those servers will wait an extra 2 weeks to get the new content that will be interesting hmm
There shouldn't be a wipe today its just an update
@@HOD well wipe is coming anyway don't change the fact that I gotta reset lol but thanks I guess I have a chance to get to level 50 before that wipe.
Yeah for sure good luck 👍
If anything, they'll be more prepare for the next phase.
make us fight a world boss and i we dont win we all get wiped XD XD
I played the betas they were 3-4 months and I didn't get that far on it so 6 weeks is no where near long enuff I think it needs at least 6 month wipes it gives us time to play and get to max and end game and the developers time to sort the content out
Im afraid that this can be like one time game, becouse now the grind makes fun, but when ure gonna do it over and over again then idk
Why does everyone miss that it says you can bring Weapons/armor and materials such as basic resources, medicine and ammo? The only thing you have to redo is the new story and explore the new map areas. You keep everything!!! It’s not that bad.
you dont keep everything
they will give you a limit on how much can be transferred over.
Every server has its own whipe cycle you can start now and start on server cycle day 1
