This is one of my favourite games of all time; it does exactly what i wanted; an open world Ghost Recon game that feels like a Ghost Recon game, and isn't live service either.
Ghost Recon Wildlands is one of my all time favourite games of all time, I really enjoyed the aspect of the story and remember playing this game with friends and randoms whilst having an absolute blast. Flying across the gigantic map, Terrorising the Santa Blanca Cartel or facing down near endless waves of Unidad forces were some of the most memorable times for me
Wildlands was made with love and passion, you can feel it. And something you didn't mention but which I think is very important. Widlands can be played in a crazy casual way, but its also possible to play it in a slow and tactical way. It's the only game that brought those two elements together, and don't underestimate the niche of tactical shooter fans. For me they were the foundation of Wildlands, over casual gamers came in and out of, but that core of players kept the game alive for some years. And that's why I think Breakpoint flop hard, not due to microtransactions or performance, that was bs made up by the media and creators who didn't play a GR game more than 10 hrs. It was a failure because they made it a Looter shooter first and foremost, kicking away the tactical shooter fans. And they knew it, that's why they tried to fix it adding more tactical elements. But it was too late.
Wildlands hooked me with a free weekend shortly after i had finished MGSV. I was helpless to whaf it offered in place of MGSV and have spent thousands of hours between wildlands and breakpoint.
I remember once this game came out i wanted it so bad. It looked so good watching my cousin play it on his brother in laws xbox and letting me try only made me want it more. One of my first life long friends id made had me over at his place and his dad gave me this game and i played the hell out of it. Easily one of my favorite games to just replay because of how chaotic and replayable it is. It will always have a special place in my heart
I play through Wildlands, Future Soldier, and Breakpoint as part of a regular routine and what is kills me is the reality that Breakpoint will die when they shut down the servers.
Back in Ubisoft 2010-2016 era there was absolute insane care put into authenticity. For Far Cry 4 devs went to Nepal. For Wildlands, they went to Bolivia. And it shows. They also put absolutly INSANE effort into soundtracks. Black Flag has (awesome) orchestral score, but also the shanties, AND tavern songs. Wildlands have made they *own* Narco-corrido songs about the game cartel (I have one of them as ringtone btw). Far Cry 5 (while terrible game in my opinion) had the church choir songs AND the country songs. While Assassins Creed Syndicate was mediocre AC game gameplay and story wise, I could spend hours just walking trough London... It was this added value that made the otherwise tired Ubisoft formula games memorable and worth it.
Wildlands 2, would indeed be wild (if they put the same effort) Breakpoit was fine, but the survival themed story is kinda no match for the law enforcement experience of wildlands
Honestly the route for ghost recon should be u going to a third world country trying stop the corruption an getting help from rebels an leading bout the country history an stuff wildlands is what every new ghost recon neee to surpass to consider amazing
@ 3:40, just one little detail, before the drone in watchdogs 2, ghost recon had drones in Future Soldier, and even on the old Advanced Warfighter ones.
To me, Breakpoint is one of my favorite. Don't get me wrong, it's not a good Ghost Recon game, but I'll take anything that is close to a Splinter Cell game.
Coke + Accuracy by volume. It's my headcannon to save myself the heartache of a 120lb guy limp writing a mac 10 at a seasoned special forces operator. Ain't nobody bulletproof 😅
Technically you can make 12 different saves if you include DLC. Three for main, Three for ghost mode, Three for Fallen Ghosts, and Three for Narco Road..... I just ran it all as "me" in game with my real kit, made the game more personal knowing what I (wanna) look like.
I have over 200 hours in Wildlands, and it's for a reason! The unscripted moments are unmatched, I'll be heading to a mission and end up getting in a 30 min rabbit trail of random fights. The drifting of cars, insane amount of bases, one of my favorite games of all time. Hura!
I've been recently replaying Wildlands for like the hundredth time, and I'm still having a blast! There are so many things I love about Wildlands especially the chatter between Nomad's team, each Buchon having their own personalities, Bowman's briefings, Ghost Mode, the landscape of Bolivia, and much more! Wildlands is no doubt one of my personal favorite shooter games.
Download the FPS mod for this if you’re on PC. It makes it so much more immersive because you don’t have to look at your character’s stiff animations so much, plus it makes the world feel twice as large.
You've found the sparkling point in one of the Ubisoft games. And you are completely right with it. But. Other Ubisoft games have such sparkling points too. You only have to play them as is but not as reskin of HL, CoD or Far Cry. That's the main problem. Every Ubisoft game has unique and innovative features, but all of them allow you to play like some other game because they are all playgrounds that don't force you into any one strict play style. You want to find out the game's unique playstyle - good for you, you'll have much fun. You don't - we all lose because the game will not have enough sales.
There is one game that people fail to mention when it came to making Ubisoft great, Splinter Cell. NO OTHER gaming company was making a game like Splinter Cell and it set the foundations for games like Assassins Creed and Ghost Recon Future Soldier and so on.
To me Origins, Division 2 and Wildlands were open-world elevated to the next level and one of the big reasons why the PS4 generation felt like such a wonderful iteration of gaming. Origins' Egypt is still beautiful, Bayek and Aya were fun, Division 2 in my opinion is the most consumer friendly and community friendly live service ever and Wildlands is the true successor to Far Cry 3. The fact that there is no Division 3 yet, that Odyssey and Valhalla grew fat and unimaginative and Breakpoint was a clear fumble was a portent to what Ubi is about to become.
if you play wildlands like you did in the video under extreme and tier mode on and no hud, you will be dead at least 50 times just in that span of time. there is that element of frustrating grind in wildlands if you turn tier one mode on, unless you are pro fps player, go one on one with any emeny is instant death 9 of out 10, the enemy way too tanky and like they have aimbot. so wildlands is fun in low difficulty, like in this video, i agree, but if you want a challenge, it gets extremely frustrating
Tier One makes all of the game's inconsistencies (like aimbotting enemies, unstable cover system) stick out so much more. Wildlands should not be played above Hard. It's not like Tier 1 is worth it anyway luckily
Almost every single Ubisoft game is the epitome of a game with a 10/10 idea, that always has a 5/10 execution at best. Wildlands does not avoid failing to live up to it's potential, but it's one of the very few ones that comes closer to what it could be than 90% of their other games.
Wildlands has tis remnants of the edge, other older Ubititles had - for me, games like convition, blacklist, future soldier etc. Offer something so...deeply ubisoft but also so filled with character, that is just fun. Sadly, breakpoint, even though it has better gameplay and systems, just doesnt come close to atmopshere and that edge, that Wildlands to an extend has.
Perfect video. Wildlands is an excellent game, and I noticed you installed the FPS mod that makes it 100000000000 times better. I beat it back in 2017 on my old PS4 and beat it again on my PC this year with the first person mod installed.
XDefiant is still fairly alive on consoles. I think it's a fantastic shooter, one of the best in years. If you like the old CODs, especially the vintage 2007 to 2012 era, XD was made for you.
@@HarleyHound-ge2xr Yes, RIP XD, but I've still been able to play games easily without much searching. When chatting with the players I'm encountering, they're also sad about XD shutting down, some not knowing what other shooter to play because XD is better
The drone isnt really borrowed from watch dogs, the drone was a big part of the previous Ghost Recon game, Future Soldier, which in my opinion was nerfed in Wildlands.
Honestly this year was a Ubisoft year for me. I player farcry from 3 to 5 (including spin-offs) and played Immortal Fenyx Rising and it was good experience.
As someone who was fan and supporter of whole Tom Clancy lineup from the very first Rainbow Six up to Siege, and Ghost Recon up to Wildlands, I can confidently say that Wildlands is also a ubisoft slop. Mind you, both Siege and Wildlands are kind of fun in their own rights but on both, it shows that ubisoft is increasingly greedy with less and less attention and intent on providing a good game. And don't even get me started on the paper thin writing they call a story. Add to the mix that you don't even own what you bought from them and it really makes you question WTF they are even doing? They produce slop and disposable products with great promises, designed to get money out of you and move on to the next latest and "greatest" slop. Time to move to GOG to actually own what you paid for.
For me the last good RS was third game and best GR experience I had was in Advanced Warfighter, Ubisoft lost it's mojo in tactical games long time ago. Nowdays there is only "tacticool" gameplay with slopy sci fi stories. Honestly I think SC Black List was their last good game but not as great as in the past. I hope for more games like Ready or Not.
I absolutely love wildlands to the point of obsessing I’ve put 500 hours plus and played breakpoint then far cry 5 then black ops 6 and still keep going back to wildlands and it’s the only game I haven’t sold on disc all the others will go as replay ability is brilliant with wildlands just my personal opinion 😊 I’m just waiting for project over if it even happens 😢
Interesting video, the thing is Ubisoft just doesn't care anymore, most of the original developers are gone, wildlands while I agree was a game I was quite fond of, has its own slew of issues that even by today still haven't been resolved, breakpoint came in and while it fixed some of the issues, created new ones that drove me away from wanting to invest my time into it, and I ended up 100%ing wildlands for fun, if the game had a smidge more options for immersion, quality of life changes, a new coat of paint, and bug fixes done en masse, than maybe even by today's ubisoft slop standards it can be re-released or remastered in such a way to be fun again and modernized. That being said, it wouldn't hurt to add variety, more content, and focus on adding unique A-Life like experiences to add immersion and break away from unnecessary repetition, the game suffered greatly when you end up doing the exact same thing and lose incentive to wanna complete it all, after having been exposed to the same mechanics, or ai, or "moments", especially preceded by a glitch or two.
I've had my fun playing this game before, hell I even just played it yesterday. But I wouldn't say the game is perfect. Yeah, the gameplay is fine and there's plenty to it, but the issues besides the DLCs being mid-to trash and the monetization nonsense are more specific. Ghost Recon has always had an element of tactics and planning to it. Despite that, previous entries can seem more forgiving than other games like Tarkov and Squad without abandoning the fragility of your characters. But until Wildlands, it always had a niche bit to it: the "Soldier of Tomorrow" if you will. Something that made Ghost Recon stand out was implementing and using tech and toys that at the time of each respective game's release real things that were in development or experimental like the XM8 and XM29. (Some things of course, weren't real like the MRC or CROSS-COM.) Heck, it's the Ghost MO as a unit, they're cream of the crop of US spec ops, and so they get to play with the newest toys first. Field test them even. Advanced Warfighter really took that to the next level with the CROSS-COM (giving you your HUD) and other weapons like the Rx4, MRC, M.U.L.E. drone, etc etc. When Wildlands came out, they went to a more traditional aesthetic. Sure, there's some new stuff to play with in the game and some element of gadgets, but there's no really NEW stuff. Even the CROSS-COM is just relegated to being a cosmetic. And sure, it may make sense to not take the latest stuff for a job like what Kingslayer was, but that kinda falls apart when Silent Spade and Fallen Ghosts are brought up. This would carry into Breakpoint, and given that takes place one year after Future Soldier...? Essentially: As fun as it is, Wildlands' biggest sin is turning the Ghosts into another generic spec-ops group.
1:16 The sad thing is; you don't own any new Ubisoft games going forward. Even if you bought the physical version, you don't own the game, because the game isn't on and certainly not installable from the disk, you have to be online and connected to install it. This is disengenious, as they are presenting a download as a physical product. This is why i no longer buy Ubisoft games; if i can't own the game, they can't own my money.
Wildlands (and the Division1) was their peak. As everyone else says, a remaster would be amazing, but unfortunately they think we want nonsense like Avatar
Can’t lie Ubisoft out did themselves with wildlands I was so shock on how good it was I like this like if gta an call duty was to have a baby an the grandparents is far cry an watch dogs
Personally, I prefer Breakpoint to Wildlands overall. Wildland's game world and story is more enjoyable I think. But everything else is far....far better in Breakpoint.
I know what wildlands do diferent and better than others. No s****d sh** like drones, super power characters, high tech stuff messing with my gameplay, no unreal jumps and a awesome alive map with diferent environments and no copy past futuristic buildings. Ghost recon Breakpoint has a very good gameplay but the map and the story sucks.
I have to say. It was the game that did something different. And, although breakpoint looked nicer and had some great mechanics, breakpoint went back to that nasty Ubi formula. Wildlands truly felt like you were a ghost dropped in an operation. It has its flaws, but man I loved to do almost every mission.
Honestly, wildlands was the perfect game for me. I loved the way you could immerse yourself into the story. It was don’t everything right. Sure it had some flaw but they weren’t as bad as the ones in breakpoint.
While I have zero proof, Wildlands feels like it was made in a undisturbed bubble. It launched with massive customization at launch with almost no mircotransactions, it was a massive standout compared to every other Ghost Recon game, but in a good way, it focused on Stealth and Open world environments with Go at it your way approach, top that with everything being unlockable by gameplay and it felt fresh. Once the game started to pop off, it was clear Ubisoft was surprised and was quick to throw Loot boxes and premium cosmetics into the game, but their was already so much free that the greed wasn't really felt. Trying to capitalize off of the success Wildlands garnered, it started throwing in big money on a sequel whilst hyping it up through content updates to wildlands and upon release it squandered it good will by locking off most cosmetics at launch behind a paywall, removing basic shit like Camo patterns from Wildlands for reference, removing the ability to find and unlock weapons through clearing enemy stronghold in favor of an in game currency market, removing AI teammates so you would convince your friends to buy into the game as well, a Gear Score system that made so little sense they dropped it 6 months later and the idea of Raids like its a MMO when it clearly isn't was just an insanely dumb idea. Utilizing all the hype and buildup to create super lackluster story with minor gameplay tweaks, most of which didn't even make sense. It felt like Wildlands went from a lengthy go at your own pace Dev Cycle to a "QUICK WE NEED TO RUSH THIS NEW ONE OUT SO WE CAN MAKE A QUICK BUCK", tossing in random mechanics from other games like the Division that made little sense in a Tactical shooter lite. This isn't even to mention the same team was also working on a Ghost Recon Battle Royale game in tandem that eventually got canceled after it was negatively received at a press event. From what I can tell Breakpoint is better then it was at launch but First impressions matter and they killed Breakpoint for me.
There are a few modern Ubisoft games worth playing. I think Wildlands and Watch Dogs 2 rise above being total slop. I enjoyed Origins, Odyssey, and Mirage for their settings as well, even if they were a bit lacking in the gameplay department.
All ubisoft games have unsatisfying level of gore system. Maybe they want to market their games to a higher level of audience, its ironic because they have the most atmospheric game settings but the looter shooter like combat system just doesnt do it for me. I did thoroughly enjoyed wildlands tho as a sandbox arcade shooter tho, not hating just opinion
Wich is crazy, considering what fkcedup sht the cartels is doing to the people around them - burning bodies in cages, slaughtered animals and piles of corpses - but God forbid their heads explode when you make Pew Pew there, or limbs fly off from a grenade.

The enemies were way too easy to kill compared to Unidad!! The environment is just can't get into it that's why I'm playing Wildlands for the third time, so replayable. Any suggestions on Breakpoint? Wildlands 2 would be a dream come true.
The worst thing about wildlands is the dumb microtransaction stuff they have built in and the prestige crates to earn "Vehicles and skins". Other than that mostly great, if they ever decide to make another wildlands they have to 1st avoid bad game design and 2nd get input by military people and hire competent people. Unfortunately I don't have much confidence with all there release recently.

I don’t understand your critique of Watchdogs 2. Just because he knows how to code means that he shouldn’t be able to kill random npcs?
Wildlands 2, would indeed be wild (if they put the same effort)
Breakpoit was fine, but the survival themed story is kinda no match for the law enforcement experience of wildlands
Honestly the route for ghost recon should be u going to a third world country trying stop the corruption an getting help from rebels an leading bout the country history an stuff wildlands is what every new ghost recon neee to surpass to consider amazing
Had so much fun playing this, I’ve owned it for years but finally dived in and beat it. I’m playing through Breakpoint now.
Wildlands is the only ubi game I 100%%%, Completed over 17 ubi games thru all the years but this is the only one
One of the few games i have replayed several times. So immersive and cool. Only downside is the enemy AI have literal laser beams for aim
Coke + Accuracy by volume.
It's my headcannon to save myself the heartache of a 120lb guy limp writing a mac 10 at a seasoned special forces operator. Ain't nobody bulletproof 😅
Can't wait this this steam sale on 27th I want buy GR Wildland.
But I have questions how many character we can create fot 1 account ?
As far as I know, you can create multiple save games and have the ability to customize your characters throughout the game!
@Frizrow Hope can create 3 slot character like GR breakpoint
@@ck739 Yes you can create 3 characters, you can even create 3 characters in ghost mode.
Technically you can make 12 different saves if you include DLC. Three for main, Three for ghost mode, Three for Fallen Ghosts, and Three for Narco Road..... I just ran it all as "me" in game with my real kit, made the game more personal knowing what I (wanna) look like.
"killed by black ops 6" is such a low blow it made me flinch
still playing Wildlands every day with my buddys :D masterpiece
Just as I thought no distinguishing factors, just personal preference for 7 minutes
I just can’t play breakpoint after wildland
It makes it so much more immersive because you don’t have to look at your character’s stiff animations so much, plus it makes the world feel twice as large.
i liked to look at my drip hue
imagine splinter cell gameplay+metal gear story+wildlands open world.
Dont forget to mention Breakpoint aswell!
Wildlands is just one of those games I find myself coming back to every now and then. It's still fun to play!
Still playing Wildlands
The fact that there is no Division 3 yet, that Odyssey and Valhalla grew fat and unimaginative and Breakpoint was a clear fumble was a portent to what Ubi is about to become.
finished this one and bp honestly had fun with both in co op
if you play wildlands like you did in the video under extreme and tier mode on and no hud, you will be dead at least 50 times just in that span of time. there is that element of frustrating grind in wildlands if you turn tier one mode on, unless you are pro fps player, go one on one with any emeny is instant death 9 of out 10, the enemy way too tanky and like they have aimbot. so wildlands is fun in low difficulty, like in this video, i agree, but if you want a challenge, it gets extremely frustrating
Tier One makes all of the game's inconsistencies (like aimbotting enemies, unstable cover system) stick out so much more. Wildlands should not be played above Hard. It's not like Tier 1 is worth it anyway luckily
Avatar Frontiers of Pandora is criminally underrated
Nostalgia Ubisoft slop has been the same for the past decade what you like or dislike depends entirely on which games you played first
I think you nailed it. Especially your point at 5:03. Wildlands is great.
XDefiant is still fairly alive on consoles. I think it's a fantastic shooter, one of the best in years. If you like the old CODs, especially the vintage 2007 to 2012 era, XD was made for you.
I don't advise playing trash,COD or Xdefiant
On Dear.....this comment didn't age well. Sorry for your loss. Ubisoft are so trustworthy at screwing their players.
@@HarleyHound-ge2xr Yes, RIP XD, but I've still been able to play games easily without much searching. When chatting with the players I'm encountering, they're also sad about XD shutting down, some not knowing what other shooter to play because XD is better
MGSV is a lot better than Wildlands. The AI is a lot better and they can even counter your load out if you use the same one a few times.
Haha... yeah that was really cool. Keep popping guys in the head and they'll start wearing helmets!
The drone isnt really borrowed from watch dogs, the drone was a big part of the previous Ghost Recon game, Future Soldier, which in my opinion was nerfed in Wildlands.
Yea, you're right about that. What I meant to say was the updated controls that were taken from watch dogs 2
@Frizrow true, it does control alot like watch dogs 2
Honestly this year was a Ubisoft year for me. I player farcry from 3 to 5 (including spin-offs) and played Immortal Fenyx Rising and it was good experience.
Wachdog mentioned❤
i went back to wildlands recently and i really couldn't believe that this is a ubisoft game.
Shitballs
It was the last Ubisoft game made with passion
I used to say, if any corporation will take games, that I bought, from me, I will never ever buy game again. Since then I will be a pirate for live
*Still play Wildlands extreme no HUD.*
Wildlands = ai is amazing.
Breakpoint ai *?*
💩
Good video, wildlands was definitely something different!
This is my favorite game. Played it for 3 years straight on ghost mode. I don't think ubisoft is bad love wildlands and AC and splinter cell
1:16
The sad thing is; you don't own any new Ubisoft games going forward.
Do NOT slander my boy Watch_Dogs! (except Legion, we don’t acknowledge that one…)
But fr Wildlands is insane and my second favourite ubi game O.A.T.
i need open world splinter cell by now
Wildlands (and the Division1) was their peak. As everyone else says, a remaster would be amazing, but unfortunately they think we want nonsense like Avatar
Ubisoft needs to look at games like gta and red dead for an immersive open world game that can live without you.
The gta ost at the ending was nice
Can’t lie Ubisoft out did themselves with wildlands I was so shock on how good it was I like this like if gta an call duty was to have a baby an the grandparents is far cry an watch dogs
Personally, I prefer Breakpoint to Wildlands overall. Wildland's game world and story is more enjoyable I think. But everything else is far....far better in Breakpoint.
You know what i kinda hate about both ghost recons, helicopters, they kinda ruin the fun ngl
I just don’t use them, don’t use the drone either.
Ghost recon wildlands is technically offline so it will always be playable, games like breakpoint and any other online only games no chances of saving
MP was cool. Reminded me of Socom
I have to say. It was the game that did something different. And, although breakpoint looked nicer and had some great mechanics, breakpoint went back to that nasty Ubi formula. Wildlands truly felt like you were a ghost dropped in an operation. It has its flaws, but man I loved to do almost every mission.
Ubisoft has made so many amazing games and people completely ignore that and just hate on ubisoft
Honestly, wildlands was the perfect game for me. I loved the way you could immerse yourself into the story. It was don’t everything right. Sure it had some flaw but they weren’t as bad as the ones in breakpoint.
What makes it different? It tried to bait a purchase from me based on GRAW 2 nostalgia.
I literally just want a 60 cos update on ps5 for WL and I’ll be happy
There are a few modern Ubisoft games worth playing. I think Wildlands and Watch Dogs 2 rise above being total slop. I enjoyed Origins, Odyssey, and Mirage for their settings as well, even if they were a bit lacking in the gameplay department.
It's actually just Ubisoft slop
Awesome vid!
Wildlands had the Predator Mission. glad i did it. i wish it came back. Breakpoint had the Terminator missions. also gone. I recommend Ghost Recon
Ubisoft games were always a bit sloppy. Like a sloppy joe, sloppy toppy, and really tasty greasy burger that you cant help but to make a mess out of. But the contents of that slop were always good... Or atleast very tasty, and nade of relative quality.
Now ubsislop is literally worse tasting and worse for you than McDonald's.
But i Swear their shit used to be like culvers, or stake n shake atleast.
Also, i hate Watch Dogs 2. The tone , the happy go lucky lEtS TakE dOWn tHe BiG EvIL CorPoRAtioN, YiPpeE.. everything is so gay. The first isnt as deep as 2 in gameplay, but i still go back every year or two to play it and have a great time.
Wildlands
Future soldier
Blacklist
WD1
AC Unity and every main entry prior
All.. 7 out of ten games but theyre some of my favorites of all time.
Well said. I think they nailed it with Wildlands
I've beaten Wildlands twice now and going on a third go with the optical como. I live Wildlands. I tried Breakpoint for 2 hours and couldn't get into it!! The enemies were way too easy to kill compared to Unidad!! The environment is just can't get into it that's why I'm playing Wildlands for the third time, so replayable. Any suggestions on Breakpoint? Wildlands 2 would be a dream come true.
this game is on the same era that they TRIED, same release years of AC:Origins
Making the ending of Breakpoint paid DLC was complete horseshit.
I agree. I ill forever praise Ubisofts world design. They have perfected it. And then ruin it by fking up the rest of the game.
I liked that wildlands had some balls
And then they went for Island™ occupied by Evil Corporation©
The Perks Breakpoint had (survival aspect, weapons, bla bla) are just no match to a Story that has balls and is somewhat believable
The US losing a Task Force so elite the public doesnt even know about and not doing anything recover them? (Ik there was a ingame explanation but i remember it made as much sense as the bible)
AC Odyssey is one of Ubisoft's best games hands down.
