I love when you and Toby make videos like these, its so fun to hear about the teams youve used recently. It inspired me to make an instagram page where i share pokemon teams ive used!
One of my most recent teams was in Black 2, which was Boaris the Emboar, Edna the Leavanny(named after Edna Mode from The Incredibles), Tectonic the Excadrill, Scavenger the Mandibuzz(the hidden ability one that can be captured on Thursdays in Route 4 in Black 2), Umibozu the Jellicent(named after a creature from Japanese mythology, whose name means "sea monk"), and Eelaine the Eelectross.
Gotta say, my Ultra sun team is still my favourite team of them all. I got so attached to them thanks to Pokémon Refresh. I had Oliver the Decidueye, Havoc the Vikavolt, Horus the Hawlucha, Percy the Swampert ( Island scan), Grimlock the Tyrantrum and Azula the Salazzle. All of them were blast to use, especially Oliver, who toughed out Ultra necrozma and landed crit Spirit shackle.
Josh is actually a great name for a Toucannon, because one of my favorite UA-camrs is Josh Scorcher AKA The Fiery Joker and Toucannon has the whole heat thing going on. Also, your Ninetales nickname is very close to what I name my male Alolan Ninetales: Yusuke, after the ice magic-using Phantom Thief (whose code name is Fox) from Persona 5.
I remember in Ultra Sun, I had a Zoroark that my older brother said I should get. I named it after him and it became my MVP and is one of my favourite Pokemon. It was my first Pokemon to reach level 100 and I counted on it for everything. Damn I miss that thing.
I love when you make these. My team currently is Quaquaval, Glimmora, Ceruledge, Tinkaton, Annihiliape and Veluza. Quaquaval is probably my second favourite starter
Just to put this out there, set mode wouldn’t be more realistic because they switch out after a win in the anime constantly. If you want it realistic you just limit your Party to the same count as theirs
I've run a mono-grass team in a Pokémon Black playthrough and let's just say it is quite a challenge! Much more than a nuzzlocke (but that may be due to grass being weak to many and super effective against only a few Unovan gym leaders...)
I ran mono-Grass in Black 2. I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised at how much work my Sawsbuck put in. Normal STAB with Fighting coverage may not be all that uncommon but with Horn Leech as added bulk, he was easily the ace on my team, while my poor Serperior lagged behind hard until I was able to pivot him into a physically-oriented Coil build.
Lokix is one of those pokemon that I'm happy to hear when people like it, because it's based off of one Kamen Rider- one of my favorite franchises. They even made it's shiny and typing based off of Kamen Rider, which I find so cool!!
I too, used a Meowscarada (a female named Daisy), Clodsire (named her Clodia XD) and a Farigiraf (Jewel). At first I was disappointed that Sprigatito became bipedal for both evolutions, but having seen the other starter evolutions, I am happy with my decision to go with it. The other two are fine in their own way, but Meowscarada vibes with me the best.
I love that you’ve finally had some fun with a monotype run. I’ve played way too many monotype runs myself and they’re one of my favorites. I particularly enjoy Ghost type runs and flying type runs. I’m currently doing a ghost run in Violet and thoroughly enjoying it. Kinda want to do a Dark run though because of the Treasures of Ruin. I tried a flying run in Shining Pearl but could not finish it. Got so bored. Legends is super fun for challenges. Did a Baby only run with the rule that I had to find a shiny and an alpha of each. Started a Grass run recently as well to celebrate Sprigatito being a cool cat. Similar rule here, needing all alphas. I also limited myself to only catching grass types, so it added an extra challenge to getting the ranks in the dex that I needed. Had to perfect a lot of entries. Small shoutout to single mon runs. I’ve been attempting to do a challenge run of every game where Sableye shows up. Named the boy Garlic and used him to destroy Ruby a few years ago. Also just want to throw in my support for the Tinka line. I found mine with having no idea what she was, and I basically fell in love with this violent crafting gremlin at first sight. I named mine Hatsume (after the inventor in MHA, Mei Hatsume) and she quickly became my strongest mon. Largely because I used her for catching. She learned Thunder Wave and was able to tank attacks really well.
i’m glad i’m not the only one who calls out their pokemon when they send them out lmao. in legends arceus i have a staraptor named johnny (after my budgie who passed away) and whenever i send him out i say “here’s johnny” cliche but i love it
Mono-Type Runs are the best! I recently replayed my favorite game, Black 2 as a mono-bug run. Leavanny Scolipede Heracross Galvantula Crustle (MVP) Volcarona By far my favorite run I've ever done!
Currently doing a mono-bug *nuzlocke of my own! Absolutely loving Crustle, and Leavanny and Galvantula are both some of my favorite mons from, well, any generation! *(Not a proper nuzlocke, but something similar that only has perma-death during important battles so I don't have to grind up another level 40 vespiquen every other battle lol)
My teams from the 3Ds to the Switch era: Alpha Sapphire: Sceptile, Swellow, Hariyama, Pikachu (Rockstar Cosplay), Sharpedo and Glalie Sun: Decidueye, Toucannon, Vikavolt, Lycanroc (Midday), Salazzle and Greninja (from the demo) Ultra Sun: Incineroar, Lycanroc (Dusk), Alolan Raichu, Hawlucha, Tsareena and Wishiwashi Shield: Rillaboom, Corviknight, Orbeetle, Dreadnaw, Toxtricity, Centiskorch, Grimmsnarl and Dragapult Violet: Quaquaval, Clodsire, Tinkaton, Ceruledge, Kilowattrel and Baxcalibur. Plan on rotating for the upcoming DLC and use Annihilape, Lokix and Gholdengo as well.
Some things first: I like your way of playing the games. Just from the way you're talking about your teams and your experiences, I feel like I can tell how much you like playing the games. In a casual, not-on-competetive-focused way. And that's exactly how I love to play them as well. Especially using Pokemon I'm very fond of. And huuuuge shout out for being a youtube who doesn't straight up hate on Meowscarada just for being bipedal. It's a minor thing, but I really appreciate you for that. As for my team for Pokemon Scarlet: - Meowscarada (best starter of Gen 9, no question) - Glaceon (it's my absolute favorite Pokemon of all time and I finally could get one pretty much right after the tutorial - I was extremely hyped about that) - Tinkaton (Like you said, it took my heart by surprise. And the more I see and learn about it, the more I love it! Best Pokemon of this generation!) - Guardevoir (I found a Ralts very early on. And I didn't really spoil myself about new Pokemon, so to play it safe, I kept this strong Pokemon and since it's one of my favorites as well, it stayed; and I only found out there's Gothitelle really late into the game... I think my team was in their 60s by then; had I known before, then I'd have caught one of that, since I've been curious about playing with a Gothitelle for a while now, but it hasn't worked out so far...) - Salazzle (I only played Moon recently, where I also use a Salazzle; so aside from the very cool Fire/Poison typing, I also wanted to spend more time with it; that's why, once I found a Salandit I knew what to do) - Dragonair (yes, Dragonair - it carries an everstone; I love it - one of my all-time favorites - and for some reason, all the Gen1 or Gen2 playthroughs I attempted with one on my team... I never finished; I played those games a bunch before, so most of the times I grew bored of playing and never finished. So since this is my first playthrough of Scarlet - as soon as I saw a Dratini, the decision was made) So new generation and I'm using... 2 new Pokemon. Well, to be fair, while most of the new Pokemon look decent at the very least, none of them strike me as amazing or must-catch. Except for Tinkaton! As for my experience with the new games: Amazing! I can honestly ignore the flaws with the performance here and there and the dropping framerate from time to time. That doesn't stop me from enjoying those games at all! And, man, did it surprise me! At first, I was very aversed to the idea of playing as a literal student, expecting a very childish and dumb story (if any at all); In all honesty, the trailers did a very, very poor job of presenting the game. What those trailers showed, and what picture of the games built itself in my mind, is absolutely not what we actually got. So I should be happy about that. But... that almost made me not buy the game and miss out on such an enjoyable journey. I'm really glad I decided to buy it after all.
Loved this video indeed! I love learning about people's teams and nicknames 😍 and actually it is such a cool idea to try for a monotype run! I believe I'll try that sometime
I literally thought, "YES he is doing the thing where he edits the pokemon pictures like they are standing as a group!" I've watched that "Which region has the best pokemon of each type" video many times, and a big reason is how pretty it is. Also, I have finally realized I am a full on Tinkaton stan. I grew to really like the evolution line. And only recently found out other people like it. Now, whenever someone talks about the new pokemon. I NEED to know what they think of Tinkaton. It's 100% one of my favorite new pokemon.
My team for Scarlet is: - Meowscarada (objectively the best starter evo, not up for debate) - Talonflame (my favorite of the early route bird Pokemon) - Wugtrio (love Dugtrio, so having Wugtrio as a divergent evo is a cool concept) - Pawmot (wasn't originally going to use him, but the more I used it, the more I liked him) - Espeon (also wasn't going to use it, but I found a high leveled one in a cave early on and managed to capture it and use it from then on) - Grafaiai (didn't really like the design going into Scarlet but it's crazy how fast and strong it is, I feel like the design itself doesn't reflect how good it is) Didn't realize until after I put the team together, that I have mostly all physical attackers. I love this game for the sole reason that if you want a certain type of Pokemon, you usually can just go for it instead of slogging through 90% of the map just to get to the area. The freedom you have is refreshing. The variety in Pokemon is also great, and streamlining some things like Pokemon Boxes (which might've been in previous games idk) are a nice touch. It would be nice to have some options like Set/Shift and EXP Share on/off, but it's a pretty minor issue tbh. People overblow the performance issues it has, the choppy animations are actually pretty endearing and the framerate issues are not as common as everyone makes them out to be, and the bad ones only pertain to a few small areas in the game. This is the first Pokemon game I have played through and felt any desire to play since Black/White, so it says a lot. Especially after how much I disliked Sword/Shield. I wouldn't let any of the performance issues hold someone back from missing out on this game. As for the designs on the Pokemon this gen, a lot of them are good and makes sense. The starters and their evos are a step up from Gen 8. Quaquaval is the biggest disappointment of the starters for me, but the concept works at least. There are a few I don't think look great or in the Pokemon art style (ie: the Nacl line, Grafaiai, Tendemous, Gholdengo, Sandy Shocks, and the Tinkatink line) and some that are disappointing (Quaquaval, Oinkologne, Dundunsparce, Spidops, Pawmot, Flamigo, Dachsbun, and Gholdengo). I'm sure some people will disagree, but those are the only ones I felt weren't the best. That being said, there's a ton of really good designs like: Meowscarada, Lokix, Houndstone, Smoliv, Bellibolt, Orthworm, Baxcalibur, Klawf, Brambleghast (maybe in the minority), Roaring Moon, pretty much all of the Violet paradox Pokemon, the legendary ruin Pokemon, both Charcadet evos, Toedscruel, Kingambit, Clodsire, Annihilape, and the box art legendaries (Miraidon is better though). I can't really attest to a lot of the Pokemon storylines, since some of the games bored me before I could even really get half into it, but this one seems pretty cool. You have the three storylines that kind of converge into the crater and I thought the twist was actually really cool and oddly dark for Pokemon. Love the idea of paradox Pokemon, and it leaves the door open for adding DLC if they decide to. These are just my first impressions after playing the game for like 40-50 hours or so. Hope people don't take to those framerate issues and give the game a chance.
I love all the teams! My favorite part of Pokémon is probably teambuilding so I really enjoy these videos! I never do challenge runs but after this I might do a pkmn black grass mono run
I am proud to say I recently finished up a (mostly) mono-type BDSP with Poison types and beat Cynthia first try (did lose to Lucian once)! Some Pokemon I just transferred over like Koffing, Beedrill and Qwilfish. I loved the team and like you I rotated my Pokemon around. 🔵Roserade (Undertaker) Lv63 - Bertha MVP⛰️ 🔵Weezing (Puff Master) Lv61 - exploded on Garchomp to claim victory😈!!! 🔵Infernape (Spike) Lv61 - Flint MVP🔥 🔵Skuntank (Hamtaro) Lv61 - Lucian MVP🔮 🔵Aerodactyl Lv63 - Aaron MVP🦋 (forgot to nickname😅) 🔵Dustox (Maybee) Lv64 - set up Quiver Dance sweep on 4/6 of Cynthia's team (Milotic, Gastrodon, Lucario, Roserade), Bertha's Hippowdon Honorable Mentions: Tentacruel (Bubby) Lv56; Qwilfish Lv55; Beedrill (Scorpion) Lv57
It's funny that you mention monotypes run. I actually did pokemon Scarlet with a mono ground type but during my playthrough I found a shiny Deino so I switched to a mono dragon type with my team being for a long time first stage pokémon so my final team is: Malibu the Garchomp Spectra the Dragapult Sordonia the shiny Hydreigon Squish the Goodra Lucie the Dragonair (I don't want to evolve it) And finally Backstab the Baxcalibur
Coldsire was my goat for the whole play through. While trying to defeat the team star bases it would always be my last non left and would always come in clutch no matter what the situation was. I have not jumped around while getting badly beaten in a Pokémon game till clodsire survived against one of the car Pokémon.
I think it's interesting that so many people used gen-4 pokemon in legends arceus. I, like i do with every new game, only used Pokemon introduced in that region. My team was (all hisuian) Samurott, Lilligant, Goodra, Arcanine, Braviary, and Zoroark, with an honorable mention to Kleavor. I didn't have a full team until I found my Zorua and Rufflet in the Alabaster Icelands, and while it didn't make the game too much more challenging, I bonded much more with my team because I spent a lot of time with each one instead of having a six pokemon at all times. I didn't even have two pokemon before I caught my Scyther in Eterna; this helped me forge more of a friendship with my Dewott.
This is going to sound very LOL like, but when i saw that Penny used a Full Eeveelution team, i HAD to face her with an Eeveelution team of my own, and then i just got inspired by that to Finish the game with the same Eeveelution team with were all underleveled~ Flareon Vaporeon Sylveon Leafeon Glaceon Jolteon I didn't want to Box Meowscarada and Pawmot because i love those mons so much, but an opportunity just came to me.😊❤
I've recently been going through some pokemon games with one goal. Use mons that I've never gotten the chance to use before. Whether it's because getting it is too difficult, it's a version exclusive for the game I didn't get, or it can only be caught late game when I already have a team built. Though sometimes it's because I just didn't want to use it up to this point for one reason or another. Like Absol and Torkoal because I generally don't like using monoform pokemon, or Sceptile because I had only played Hoenn games twice up to that point and Sceptile was just my last choice. It's been fun getting to bond with new pokemon. That's also why I like Legends Arceus. I used so many pokemon throughout that game in an attempt to fill out their pokedex entrees.
I'll always be disappointed in how Tinkaton didn't perform the way I was expecting. It just wasn't doing the damage I thought it would do. It was the easiest mon to replace on my team and one to completely ignore in my second playthrough of Scarlet
I love birds so my first play through I was insistent all my Pokémon be flying type. My partner is very skilled in Pokémon so she helped me figure out my whole team! (Well flying + rowlet lol)
Tinkaton is easily my favorite gen 8 Pokemon. It's so cute, fun, and BADASS. The one on my team (which I cleverly named Dominatrix) was a menace to society and helped me win many many battles
I remember a video from years ago saying you wanted to do a mono type playthrough, I also did alpha sapphire with grass types only I almost had the exact same team just shiftry over cacturne :)
The more I look at scarlet and violet pokemon, the more all I see is digimon... and I'm not disappointed, I see it as a plus, as.... well digimon, digital monsters, digimon are the champions!
My Violet team consists of: Shiny Arcanine named Backdraft, Shiny Palossand named Sand-Ghastle, Everstoned Shiny Mareep named Meepsy, Shiny Garganacl named Steve, Shiny Corviknight named MERCENARY, and lastly, Shiny Gogoat named Chloro-Goat. So far, its my favorite pokemon game ive ever played
My Violet party is: Kilowattrel, Talonflame, Altaria, Murkrow, Corviknight, Staraptor. Finally decided to do a Challenge playthrough and went with Flying monotype
Props on calling your female mobster Honchkrow Donna. That's the name I gave my female Moxie Krookodile during my blind Nuzlocke run of Black, back in the day. She was the MVP. Still got her in my living Dex.
I think Tinkaton is an awesome Pokémon, so I'm gonna use it too. Originally, I also wanted to use Quaxly, but I saw it's evolution and had mixed feelings. I'm gonna use Quaxly still, but I really like Meowscarada
Do you come up with all of these nicknames on your own? They are absolutely fantastic. I love picking a great nickname but always struggle to decide on one. Need your process. lol
I have been very fond of my teams from BDSP and onwards. I am rating them based on performance based on my expectation Brilliant Diamond: Originally I was planning to have Glaceon and Yanmega only to find out that they were post game, which was a bummer. So I decided to use Brilliant Diamonds exclusives and stumbled upon a shiny which I also decided to use for the run. Honchkrow was the only disappointing member here. I was playing on Set and mostly banned manually switching. So Pokemon like Lopunny and Beautifly were very useful in crippeling the opposition and getting the advantage with U-Turn. Carnivine and Milotic was the major standouts. I have always liked Carnivine since the Anime, but her limited movepool was a turnoff until this run. I actually bred her to have Stun Spore and it turned out great. Was a major factor to beating Cynthia while also eating a lot of hits and ohko a lot of grass weak mons. Then there's Milotic who is unkillable in players hand. We yeet the threats with Dragon Tail and then recover to beat em again. This team means a lot to me because of how so many of them exceeded my excpectations. Turters the Torterra - 2+/3 Pandoria the Luxray - 2+/3 Belle the Lopunny - 2/3 Al Capone the Honchkrow - 1/3 Wario the Skuntank - 2+/3 Navi the Shiny Beautifly - 2/3 Bernadetta the Carnivine - 3/3 Katara the Milotic - 3/3 Legends Arceus: Another favorite. However due to how Legends Arceus works with stat scaling and the battle format. A lot of them performed average, but i still bonded with em. I also only did a team of 6 since you couldn't swap out mons when out exploring. Major moments include Ceaseless edging all of em, Shelter and Gastrodon ground typing saving us all. Pekoyama the Samurott - 2+/3 Tsuma the Gastrodon - 2+/3 Iselda the Yanmega - 2/3 Jolyne the Alpha Sneasler - 2/3 Carrie the Goodra - 2/3 Aisha the Alpha Froslass - 2/3 Scarlet: The way i play when a new gen release is that i catch every new mon, and slowly evolve em in the back while the main crew moves forward. This were the ones that joined the team over time. Individual thoughts this time. Mio the Meowscarada- 3/3 - OMG! Trickster/Phantom Thief/Magician super cool. Lala Chan the Oinkologne - 2-/3 - I was not a Lechonk fan, but i thought their evolution was really adorable so they stayed. Waddle Dew the Bellibolt - 3/3 - one of the very few mons i really liked pre release. This boi did a lot of Damage Cammuravi the Armarouge - 2-/3 - Sometimes it was surprisingly tanky, but Speed and Typing made it underperform Echo the Palafin - 3/3 - DOLPHIN!! SWITCH MECHANIC!!! FLIP TURN!!! Sena the Tinkaton - 3/3 - My favorite gen 9 mon. Smol Girl BEEG Hammer is an S Tier trope and you can't convince me otherwise RollinThundr the Bombirdier - 3/3 - The first one i caught came with it's hidden ability and The design and Execution was also really well done Uraya the Cetitan 2-/3 - When i saw it's pre evo i couldn't contain myself IT'S SO CUTE!!!. Since then i have never killed any wild Cetoddlers ever. Yum Yum the Tatsugiri 2+/3 - Don't trust the dex entries. It's Draco Meteors are deadly and it gets Nasty Plot and Baton Pass.
I'm about to start the Area Zero storyline in Scarlet, and my main team so far is: 1. Morgana the Meowscarada 2. Samus the Ceruledge 3. Cloud the Pawmot 4. Kara the Farigiraf 5. Bael the Toxapex 6. Nyx the Zweilous
As a prominent Pokémon/fakemon artist I think we’d all love a video of your thoughts on each gen 9 design!

I love the synergy of Pokémon in your Moon team. Decidueye and Toucannon are angsty birds, Zoroark and Ninetales-A are both illusive foxes, and Wishiwashi and Passimian use teamwork as a tactic! :)
Now I’m picturing passimian teaching a school of wishiwashi how to play volley ball or something 😂
Ya got a point

I try to get a pokemon I like that can have different typed moves or is dual types so I can have more super effective hits lol

Ngl, I appreciate the inclusion of (nearly) everyone's nicknames in this. There can be a lot of story in just a nickname, after all :D
Dex nav was definitely a huge plus, a shame it went away. I loved being able to get lucky eggs from pelliper as soon as you had access to surf, as well as being able to hunt for rarer Pokémon like ralts much more easily.

Honestly, Mono type is my favourite way to play. It's so much fun and these days, I actually find team building MORE creative
I like that Ron has complicated meanings behind some of his names and then I’m like “this is Bloop the shiny Goomy”
Shocked at how similar our SV teams are- I used also used Meowscarada, Ceruledge, Garganacl, Tinkaton, and Lokix on my team!

Gotta say, my Ultra sun team is still my favourite team of them all. I got so attached to them thanks to Pokémon Refresh. I also like Meowscarada
THERE SHOULD BE 3 A'S IN MEOWSCARADA!
The moment i saw Tinkaton and its evolution line my mind just said to me: this is basically the "let me smash" meme but in pokemon form. XD
Just to put this out there, set mode wouldn’t be more realistic because they switch out after a win in the anime constantly. If you want it realistic you just limit your Party to the same count as theirs
Man, building teams in a Pokemon game is so much fun.
I find it hilarious that he finds these intriquite cool and smart names for his pokemon, and meanwhile I called my Paldean Wooper ''Pooper'' LMAO
@Crystal 🔮 Throne IMAX Theaters 🎭 Damn I care
I always do one monotype run of all games and because of that bug types are now recognised as gods in many regions
I laughed way more than I should have when you mentioned Copter 💀💀💀
I don’t normally click on these kind of videos, but I’m so glad I did! I have forgotten how great of a UA-camr you are! Thank you!!
Lokix is one of those pokemon that I'm happy to hear when people like it, because it's based off of one Kamen Rider- one of my favorite franchises. They even made it's shiny and typing based off of Kamen Rider, which I find so cool!!
We don't use the word it's as a pronoun if there's an apostrophe in it.
DO NOT LEAVE OFF THE D IN CLODSIRE!
@@Amelia4111 whoops. Did not notice that. Fixed it. Thanks.
10:28 A very impressive impression of the meme! Great job!
7:59 ma man sasori
The fact that like you do the helicopter song with a yamega is hilarious like i cant unhear you doing that now 😂😂
i’m glad i’m not the only one who calls out their pokemon when they send them out lmao.
in legends arceus i have a staraptor named johnny (after my budgie who passed away) and whenever i send him out i say “here’s johnny” cliche but i love it
Love the new format for this also this is, in general, fantastic!
Mono-Type Runs are the best!
I recently replayed my favorite game, Black 2 as a mono-bug run.
Leavanny
Scolipede
Heracross
Galvantula
Crustle (MVP)
Volcarona
By far my favorite run I've ever done!
Gen V is definitely the best generation to do a Bug-type monolocke (other than maybe Gen VII).
I might do a mono-ghost run or a psychic run on violet
My teams from the 3Ds to the Switch era:
Alpha Sapphire: Sceptile, Swellow, Hariyama, Pikachu (Rockstar Cosplay), Sharpedo and Glalie
Sun: Decidueye, Toucannon, Vikavolt, Lycanroc (Midday), Salazzle and Greninja (from the demo)
Ultra Sun: Incineroar, Lycanroc (Dusk), Alolan Raichu, Hawlucha, Tsareena and Wishiwashi
Shield: Rillaboom, Corviknight, Orbeetle, Dreadnaw, Toxtricity, Centiskorch, Grimmsnarl and Dragapult
Violet: Quaquaval, Clodsire, Tinkaton, Ceruledge, Kilowattrel and Baxcalibur.
Plan on rotating for the upcoming DLC and use Annihilape, Lokix and Gholdengo as well.
There should be only one A in Drednaw!
As for my team for Pokemon Scarlet:
- Meowscarada (best starter of Gen 9, no question)
- Glaceon (it's my absolute favorite Pokemon of all time and I finally could get one pretty much right after the tutorial - I was extremely hyped about that)
- Tinkaton (Like you said, it took my heart by surprise. And the more I see and learn about it, the more I love it! Best Pokemon of this generation!)
- Guardevoir (I found a Ralts very early on. And I didn't really spoil myself about new Pokemon, so to play it safe, I kept this strong Pokemon and since it's one of my favorites as well, it stayed; and I only found out there's Gothitelle really late into the game... I think my team was in their 60s by then; had I known before, then I'd have caught one of that, since I've been curious about playing with a Gothitelle for a while now, but it hasn't worked out so far...)
- Salazzle (I only played Moon recently, where I also use a Salazzle; so aside from the very cool Fire/Poison typing, I also wanted to spend more time with it; that's why, once I found a Salandit I knew what to do)
- Dragonair (yes, Dragonair - it carries an everstone; I love it - one of my all-time favorites - and for some reason, all the Gen1 or Gen2 playthroughs I attempted with one on my team... I never finished; I played those games a bunch before, so most of the times I grew bored of playing and never finished. So since this is my first playthrough of Scarlet - as soon as I saw a Dratini, the decision was made)
So new generation and I'm using...

DILLYDOO IS BACK!
in my first playthrough, I had almost the exact same platinum team. The only difference is that I used a jolteon instead of Luxray.
10:28 helicopter helicopter 😭
Please do a nuzlocke of any gen and create past/future/new regional variants of the Pokémon that were vital to your success. It would be so cool!
I love these teams, I definitely understand why you loved them and used them.
My team for Scarlet is:
- Meowscarada (objectively the best starter evo, not up for debate)
- Talonflame (my favorite of the early route bird Pokemon)
- Wugtrio (love Dugtrio, so having Wugtrio as a divergent evo is a cool concept)
- Pawmot (wasn't originally going to use him, but the more I used it, the more I liked him)
- Espeon (also wasn't going to use it, but I found a high leveled one in a cave early on and managed to capture it and use it from then on)
- Grafaiai (didn't really like the design going into Scarlet but it's crazy how fast and strong it is, I feel like the design itself doesn't reflect how good it is)
Didn't realize until after I put the team together, that I have mostly all physical attackers.
I didn’t know Pokémon black 2 was Ron’s favorite Pokémon game! Awesome it’s easily my favorite Pokémon too
Tropius is such an awesome pokemon. Really under appreciated
2:21 THANK YOU!
I love all the teams! My favorite part of Pokémon is probably teambuilding so I really enjoy these videos! I never do challenge runs but after this I might do a pkmn black grass mono run
8:19 i love that idea
Reminds me of Grunty Boi from MandJTV
I am proud to say I recently finished up a (mostly) mono-type BDSP with Poison types and beat Cynthia first try (did lose to Lucian once)! Some Pokemon I just transferred over like Koffing, Beedrill and Qwilfish. I loved the team and like you I rotated my Pokemon around.
🔵Roserade (Undertaker) Lv63 - Bertha MVP⛰️
🔵Weezing (Puff Master) Lv61 - exploded on Garchomp to claim victory😈!!!
🔵Infernape (Spike) Lv61 - Flint MVP🔥
🔵Skuntank (Hamtaro) Lv61 - Lucian MVP🔮
🔵Aerodactyl Lv63 - Aaron MVP🦋 (forgot to nickname😅)
🔵Dustox (Maybee) Lv64 - set up Quiver Dance sweep on 4/6 of Cynthia's team (Milotic, Gastrodon, Lucario, Roserade), Bertha's Hippowdon
Honorable Mentions: Tentacruel (Bubby) Lv56; Qwilfish Lv55; Beedrill (Scorpion) Lv57
6:56
Bro, in BDSP, my 2 MVPs were
*Gine* (named after Son Goku's mom) the Infernape and *Dusk* (Since Dustox sounds like Dusk) the Dustox
It's funny that you mention monotypes run. I actually did pokemon Scarlet with a mono ground type but during my playthrough I found a shiny Deino so I switched to a mono dragon type with my team being for a long time first stage pokémon so my final team is:
Malibu the Garchomp
Spectra the Dragapult
Sordonia the shiny Hydreigon
Squish the Goodra
Lucie the Dragonair (I don't want to evolve it)
And finally Backstab the Baxcalibur
THERE SHOULD BE 3 L'S IN LILLIGANT! AND RUFFLET DOES NOT END WITH 2 T'S!
@@Amelia4111 Oh oop. one minute
@@Amelia4111 Okay all better :)
8:03 the deidara reference 👀👀
This is going to sound very LOL like, but when i saw that Penny used a Full Eeveelution team, i HAD to face her with an Eeveelution team of my own, and then i just got inspired by that to Finish the game with the same Eeveelution team with were all underleveled~
Flareon
Vaporeon
Sylveon
Leafeon
Glaceon
Jolteon
I didn't want to Box Meowscarada and Pawmot because i love those mons so much, but an opportunity just came to me.😊❤
Thought of a cool name to design a pokemon around. Misteerie
Great name!
@@lassenker07 THANKS!🤗
Another historical video since Ron only makes these videos when a new Pokémon game come out
I love birds so my first play through I was insistent all my Pokémon be flying type. My partner is very skilled in Pokémon so she helped me figure out my whole team! (Well flying + rowlet lol)
2:26 “Why doesn’t everybody use a Honchkrow?”
Because you actually can’t find Murkrow anywhere in Platinum, sadly
the golem folk story reference made me sooo happy :D
I think my favourite team I raised is my Scarlet team; consisting of Meowscarada, Lycanroc (Midnight), Lucario, Zoroark, Goodra and Cyclizar.
“Sasori, my man”
I see what you did there and I love it
We almost had the same team in SV. Mine was Meowscarada, Clodsire, Pawmot, Tinkaton, Ceruledge, and Farigiraf.
8:45 why did I hear this as “it was a character moment”
I only used five mons during my violet play through. That way, I could save a spot for Miraidon when he got better.
4:33
Truly green
Heyy! I just came back to the channel! I’m happy to be back😉
Tinkaton is easily my favorite gen 8 Pokemon. It's so cute, fun, and BADASS. The one on my team (which I cleverly named Dominatrix) was a menace to society and helped me win many many battles
10:24 the best thing i ever seen today
I remember a video from years ago saying you wanted to do a mono type playthrough, I also did alpha sapphire with grass types only I almost had the exact same team just shiftry over cacturne :)
the thing I ex ited for the most is the music video for the new game
When you're Serbian, casually listening to this video in the background while you eat and suddenly just "HELIKOPTER, HELIKOPTER"
@Crystal 🔮 Throne IMAX Theaters 🎭 I dont know what that is bro
@crystalthroneimaxtheaters *WE ALREADY KNOW THAT! THERE'S NO NEED TO SAY IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN!*
Also, Jabs was the name I gave my first ever Nuzlocke catch - a Wurmple, in Sapphire. She died shortly after becoming a Silcoon.
Awesome Pokemon you Gotten It looks Pretty Good Amazing names
4:07
I guess you could call it.... the green team
Gotta love that your hisuian goodra was named gooblina - I named my little guy Gooby! it was an extra gentle giant since i caught an alpha sligoo ❤
THERE SHOULD BE 2 G'S IN SLIGGOO!
@@Amelia4111 Bruh 💀
7:59 Dude I also called my Drapion Sasori
I think Tinkaton is an awesome Pokémon, so I'm gonna use it too. Originally, I also wanted to use Quaxly, but I saw it's evolution and had mixed feelings. I'm gonna use Quaxly still, but I really like Meowscarada
WE DON'T USE THE WORD ITS AS A PRONOUN IF THERE'S AN APOSTROPHE IN IT!
Cranideeznu is hilarious
The Legend of Korra reference made me so happy and idk why😭
I just managed to stack 8 potato tortillas on one scarlet and violet sandwich, peak sandwich achieved
2:24 Maybe because Murkrow can't be caught in Platinum. I had to start a Diamond save file to use it in Platinum the last time I played
*CATCHED IS NOT A WORD! IT'S CAUGHT! TRY SAYING THAT!*
Can’t express how EXCITED I was to see this in my subscriptions
My violet team is Nala the shiny Pyroar, Lee the Lokix, Galant the bisharp, Ruben the Garganacl, Thunder the Kilowattrel, and Initial D the Revaroom
THERE SHOULD BE 2 V'S IN REVAVROOM, NOT JUST ONE! AND WHERE IS YOUR STARTER?
Do you come up with all of these nicknames on your own? They are absolutely fantastic. I love picking a great nickname but always struggle to decide on one. Need your process. lol
I have been very fond of my teams from BDSP and onwards. I am rating them based on performance based on my expectation
Brilliant Diamond: Originally I was planning to have Glaceon and Yanmega only to find out that they were post game, which was a bummer.
Turters the Torterra - 2+/3
Pandoria the Luxray - 2+/3
Belle the Lopunny - 2/3
Al Capone the Honchkrow - 1/3
Wario the Skuntank - 2+/3
Navi the Shiny Beautifly - 2/3
Bernadetta the Carnivine - 3/3
Katara the Milotic - 3/3
Legends Arceus: Another favorite.
Pekoyama the Samurott - 2+/3
Tsuma the Gastrodon - 2+/3
Iselda the Yanmega - 2/3
Jolyne the Alpha Sneasler - 2/3
Carrie the Goodra - 2/3
Aisha the Alpha Froslass - 2/3
Scarlet: The way i play when a new gen release is that i catch every new mon, and slowly evolve em in the back while the main crew moves forward.
This boi did a lot of Damage
Cammuravi the Armarouge - 2-/3 - Sometimes it was surprisingly tanky, but Speed and Typing made it underperform
Echo the Palafin - 3/3 - DOLPHIN!! SWITCH MECHANIC!!! FLIP TURN!!!
Sena the Tinkaton - 3/3 - My favorite gen 9 mon. Smol Girl BEEG Hammer is an S Tier trope and you can't convince me otherwise
RollinThundr the Bombirdier - 3/3 - The first one i caught came with it's hidden ability and The design and Execution was also really well done
Uraya the Cetitan 2-/3 - When i saw it's pre evo i couldn't contain myself IT'S SO CUTE!!!. Since then i have never killed any wild Cetoddlers ever.
Yum Yum the Tatsugiri 2+/3 - Don't trust the dex entries. It's Draco Meteors are deadly and it gets Nasty Plot and Baton Pass.
Awesome pokemon They all look awesome Around you
I'm about to start the Area Zero storyline in Scarlet, and my main team so far is:
1. Morgana the Meowscarada
2. Samus the Ceruledge
3. Cloud the Pawmot
4. Kara the Farigiraf
5. Bael the Toxapex
6. Nyx the Zweilous
You're really good with nicknames lol
Lol you can really tell Ron's a Naruto fan from the nicknames
