You think 180 is a lot of torque, we had to torque foundation bolts to 1450 ft pounds with a 6 ft long torque wrench let them set for a day and go back and re-torque to 2300 pounds. We called it rowing the bolt lol
Yea I've had to torque mains on pumps I used to work on with a 6ft long pipe wrench lay it on the ground push the handle up and wrist it on the bolt and pull it back to the ground and wait like 100 times till the buzzer told me I could die at 1800lb. Lol
@@andrewmasonwerdna We were in concrete cages for footing. We'd put our ft on the sidewall and start rowing like a boat. The bolts were 300 plus ft so they twisted like a rubber band lol. The first torque set was worse then the second because you'd get it close and it would slip in the bedrock and you'd start all over lol.
Something I never seen anyone else do when they change brakes that I do, is open the brake bleeder valve when they compress the caliper. It makes it easier to compress and gets rid of some of the old fluid that you should be flushing out when you bleed the brakes anyway.
@@Toolaholic7 if the bleeder screw is corroded, you can't bleed the system anyway. I understand you need to bleed the whole system. This is the first step and a preemptive step to a whole system bleed.
Lol, I wouldn't call changing the rotors and pads a "serious" brake upgrade. Had you put on a big brake kit with 6 piston calipers, then you could call it a serious upgrade.
Painted makes it look cheap versus chrome makes it look more expensive and luxurious. I hate that car manufacturers went cheap by forcing limited color options for interiors - the brown never went well with red where as red or black or even grey would have been better. I prefer cloth on the seats so you don't barbeque your butt, legs and man parts.
Aye guys I was wondering if y'all could help me out... So I have a 1976 Ford LTD Brougham and I've been searching everywhere for aftermarket suspension but it seems impossible to find compatable ones. Generally GM uses similarly styled bodies and parts for multitude of their vehicles, but I'm not sure if anything besides the Lincoln Mark VI will match up. I'd really appreciate the help if anyone could give some insight on what brands or configuration would be good for suspension for GM cars from the late 70s.
What look are you going for? The one that every freaking young truck owner has offset wheels color match everything. All that comes last new engine work first and exhaust and tires. That's it. All the stuff that's cosmetic. That's like the least important items in my opinion
Those are factory wheels from the Shelby Super Snake🐍F150. They have same offset as the factory wheels. The color however would look better in a brushed aluminum or similar.
HEY FELLAS EXCUSE THE CAPS BUT I CAN SEE THEM BETTER I HAVE A QUESTION...WHY DONT YOU TELL US HOW MUCH THE MODS YOU DO WOULD COST...EVEN IF ITS JUST A BALL PARK ESTIMATE I JUST WANT TO KNOW. WHO KNOWS MAYBE I COULD FIND IT EVEN LESS EXPENSIVE. I DO LIKE WHAT YOU ALL DO KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
I did the same brake up grade on my focus and it was $600 so I’m guessing it was near $1000 for the truck. Painting everything was probably 2 or $3000 bucks. Bed drawers were probably $1500-$2500. Rims $2-$3000 tires $1000-$1500. Lowering was probably $2-$3000. These are probably all on the low end. Then I would say add the same amount as each upgrade to have it installed. Roughly.
So you you went with seat covers cause you said it didn't match the outside yet the door panels, center console, floor mat and dash now does not match!Sorry but the interior now looks like shit!
The interior looks cheap and all that black and red is too much definitely needs chrome on the grille and bumper's the all black wheels and tires just blend into the road
I think modern vehicles don't look good with chrome. Older ones do look good with chrome accents. Just my opinion. I'm sure plenty of people like chrome on new cars.
I like the chrome because it breaks the vehicle up. Everything painted the same color looks too plain. ..and not a big fan of black wheels as they look to much like oem steel or snow rims. Each to their own
HINT: Lay the seat covers out in the sun for half a day....much easier to install and less wrinkles.
Literal jaw drop when y’all showed the trash bag method for the seat cover 😮
Why? If you’ve done this you would know that it works. Try fighting some of these stupid little head rest covers on and get back to us.
Is it me or is this show getting cringer as it goes along? At this point I'll take Carcass over this atrocity.

It needs upgraded headlights.
nice to know to use the green stuff pads. my truck does some light towing (5x8 trailor)
Much beter in body color👌
That truck looks good

I could understand the seat covers, but the carpet floor mats would have to be a hard pass, get some WeatherTech floor mats instead, easier to clean.

Do not have to open the bleeder screw up.The caliper piston moves freely with it not opened up
@@Toolaholic7 I know. But you're also pushing old fluid back into the master cylinder. Why not bleed out the old fluid more efficiently?
@@Jeffball610 then have to bleed the whole system.Plus sometimes the bleeder screw will not come out finding the bleeder screw corroded up terribly

Don’t ever do it like that . You get a mess + the chance of airbubbles . 😅. Its a seperate job at the dealer for a reason
Damn i wish i could afford a truck

headlights and tailights and black badges and that thing would be perfect
part 2 of another schitt build
How do you turn an XLT into a cheaper XL? Take off all the chrome. Now you have an XLT that looks cheap.
Looking good guys 👍👍🇨🇱
Wish it was an Ecoboost RCSB
Wow look great
Would y’all be interested in restoring or upgrading an original 1970 international 1000d with the original 345 v8 and dual exhaust?
