Great job well done , new you were the man for the job, now when you give it back to the owner , make sure he has a nice dry shed to pack it in , its to good a tractor to be left out side
Hey man, I appreciate your sharing of the details of payment. It gives good perspective and adds to the enjoyment of watching your videos. Keep up the good work.
I was surprised how cheap it was in parts for the rear end considering the cost of Injector pump & starter, plus cost other little bits for the other tractors. John Deere - - think of a price & add a couple of zero's. Well done Wes, I await your next project.
OK job well done on the 6200, messy, dirty, oily, but it's DONE. Question I have is what brand, make, or anything else you can tell me about the gloves you use.
Wes you certainly wont die on hills and I have baled 1000's of round bales with a 6200 in 1993 with a New Holland 650 round baler. Was marginal in power but what the boss had bought. In New Zealand in some parts the biggest issue getting cleaned up by a bale that decides to roll
Good deal 955L track loader they are a good solid little machine the only thing you got a watch on them is the pins and bushings on the tracks that's about it, look for excessive wear in the drive sprockets but they are a good little machine for what you want to do with it Wes it's going to do that and more you will be very surprised my buddies dad had one we helped him change the tracks that job isn't fun we also change the center idlers good deal man
not bad considering, it was a good repair and made a good series, and we get more repair videos out of it too, so I think you did really well on it :) Thanks for sharing with us!
I think it wouldnt do to bad at raking hay... its a little small but would be easy on fuel. Our case 770 is perfect for raking hay and its around 75 hp
Seeing as how a new JD tractor in that HP range is about $50k minimum, its not a bad deal to have a useable running tractor for $5k in repairs. Good work guys!!
Oil rarely, rarely, RARELY, goes bad from sitting. The only thing it might do, is some of the lubricant additives might settle to the bottom. But soon as the engine fires up, it very quickly mixes all back together...... And you heard this from 24 yrs of wrenching experience.
Specs on the tractor: John Deere 6200 Power: Engine (gross):89 hp [66.4 kW] Drawbar (claimed):53 hp [39.5 kW] PTO (claimed):66 hp [49.2 kW] Drawbar (tested):53.40 hp [39.8 kW] PTO (tested):68.30 hp [50.9 kW]
Well my friend that bs about the oil going bad after 6 months is a load of bs unless you are actively using that tractor so good thing you didn't change the oil. I have worked on cars 32 years of the 37 years of my life and I am a ase certified mechanic and work for a dealership so I should know.Lol. smart deal on the track hoe. 1200 for a head and a basically free piece of good equipment in exchange for fixing the 6200 is definitely a deal I would go for too. Glad to have you back on the farm. Keep the good videos coming. Looking forward to the video on that head job you have to do and I wish I was there to help. Hell I would do it for you for free myself because I love working on cars and also love working on heavy equipment.
West as long as your happy with the cat deal then hats off to you. You are the one who has to be happy with the agreement of payment. Keep up the great videos and long live the sqatch haha
Sorry West kinda late on this comment. I own a 99 Tahoe with a 5.7. Bought it in 02 with 34k, it just turned 375k and all I've ever done is drop filter and change and top off every 3 months. once a year complete oil change, white bottle Valvoline 10w30, only way to go
That's a nice tractor, would be perfect for hauling hay from the fields back to the barn for unloading. Looks like it was definitely worth fixing, and NOT paying the 12k JD wanted to fix it.
wow!! cheap labor rates - no shop charges ether. not bad. all that work and time + parts in trade for a cat on tracks - i would have done that to. So wes when do we get to see the cat??
Your strategy for acquiring a cat track loader is brilliant plus the owner of the 6200 gets not only the original repair but also all of the other stuff you did for the tractor. You will get a track loader that, after your efforts will be worth substantially more than the cash you put into it. Just to let you know that we have been paying attention, this is what we have learned. 1 The jd dealerships can be persnickety about borrowing tools. 2 6200 's are a pain in the ass to separate 3 cheap hydraulic oil can destroy friction plates in a transmission 4 leaving stuff sit out in the weather is really bad for that model tractor 5 prime any type of fuel pump which has been sitting before declaring it bad. 6 you are not fussy about which boobs you like....oh wait that was another video series lol
Nice deal on doing that project for a trade! I've traded services for things I need and don't want to do for things I can do easily and it all works out in the end for both parties. Love the vids and you should come out to WA State and visit 63impala sometime. ;) Mitch
on engine oil yes that is bullshit, unless you were 80% of the way to needing an oil change then the carbon in the oil will settle to the bottom and sludge up a little but will mix back in once u start it up
Some guy, not named, took exception with my comment that the collective cheer for getting this tractor going would out do a stadium... my, some of your subscribers are picky folk.
I can't wait to see that 955 bulldozing trees and such you better be operating so we get good footage of it desperado is a little camera shy isn't he if I remember correctly. I for one would never load or unload a 955 I've seen guys do it I'd have to change my underwear after unloading that machine
Kevin Willis Desperado at the time of the video owned the cat and probably still does. Just a few videos back Desperado, because of union issues, gave up the job of driver for Wes.
Mack Thompson He said in a live stream that the loader belongs to his worker and i think he said it in a video too. I think it was 2 live streams ago when wes also say that desperado does not work for him any more because of union issues and now wes hast to drive the truck.
Why do you distort every thing. P am not speaking for The 'Dealer but he or she has to pay taxes electric bill , mechanics pay, Rent on their property. insurance, etc. You have the the free time to pursue your hobby of re-building tractors at your leisure. Please start being rational with your views. As an example, if I needed to have an oil for my car or truck, I could do it my self for just the cost of the oil. The dealer, like your local Deere Country has to pay their employees . Quit laying BS on your subcrigers that do not know better. Please respond. Jim in Boise ID
I enjoyed watching you and your family working on the tractor.
Great job well done , new you were the man for the job, now when you give it back to the owner , make sure he has a nice dry shed to pack it in , its to good a tractor to be left out side
Looking forward to videos on the CAT loader.
Hey man, I appreciate your sharing of the details of payment. It gives good perspective and adds to the enjoyment of watching your videos. Keep up the good work.
Got to love the Barter system !! Both parties are happy with the deal , that is all that matters !!!
I was surprised how cheap it was in parts for the rear end considering the cost of Injector pump & starter, plus cost other little bits for the other tractors. John Deere - - think of a price & add a couple of zero's. Well done Wes, I await your next project.
how long is your warranty? had a motorcycle once VERY MODIFIED and the warranty if it breaks I own both pieces. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL

Hell ya man sweet trade!!! You most defiantly got the better end of that deal then.. Nice job Wes!!
So you're saying that we can expect a another season of cool videos working on a CAT 955L engine?! Bring it on Wes!!! ;)
Big Hug from Portugal.
Thanks Wes, know a lot of your viewers were wondering about it!!
For smaller jobs and stuff they already have the antique tractors. Correct me if im not mistaken that the 6200 is about the same horse as the 720
Good deal 955L track loader they are a good solid little machine the only thing you got a watch on them is the pins and bushings on the tracks that's about it, look for excessive wear in the drive sprockets but they are a good little machine for what you want to do with it Wes it's going to do that and more you will be very surprised my buddies dad had one we helped him change the tracks that job isn't fun we also change the center idlers good deal man

Great video I love watching your videos they cheer me up
Seeing as how a new JD tractor in that HP range is about $50k minimum, its not a bad deal to have a useable running tractor for $5k in repairs. Good work guys!!
As I was watching your video a John Deere commercial was on my tv in the background. Think it's time to go buy a JD.
As long as your happy with the Deal , that's all that matters . Have fun Diggin !
We use a JD 1010 to drill post holes and run a grain auger.
How is it with your plow day? Any progress?
Which one of your machines has the most hours on it? And do you still run it?
so many things to look forward too. new mower, new cat, new trailer...
Thanks for this background information, it seems like you are getting a great deal with that Cat 955!
Oil rarely, rarely, RARELY, goes bad from sitting. The only thing it might do, is some of the lubricant additives might settle to the bottom. But soon as the engine fires up, it very quickly mixes all back together...... And you heard this from 24 yrs of wrenching experience.
Looking forward to seeing the CAT loader videos.
can't wait to see the new cat your getting
Looking forward to a new cat project. What happened to the other dozer you had Desperado driving last year?

955 is a decent size machine I think you got a good deal out of it.
onelonleyfarmer just wondering why you go on vacation by yourself?
Looking foward to the video of the cat loader.
Will you make a videos on repairing that cat loader???
A 955. There's an oldie. But a goody.
West as long as your happy with the cat deal then hats off to you. You are the one who has to be happy with the agreement of payment. Keep up the great videos and long live the sqatch haha

You are a project master.
What is Tim building on the running gear?
So the 6200 took right about $6200 to rebuild!
how did you install those special pullout bolts that holds the back to the front?
Wes, being in New Jersey, becareful where you did. There may be bodies already buried from someone else before you. Just saying..
Jimmy??
Fred Newman nope! ALPO
wow!! cheap labor rates - no shop charges ether. not bad. all that work and time + parts in trade for a cat on tracks - i would have done that to. So wes when do we get to see the cat??
Good work Wes like always!! Good trade that should help out
You will like the 955 cat, excellent traxcavator .
when do you start on next project?
\
955L for 6k labor and buying a head +gaskets for $2500. Really not a bad trade if the rest is good. 9000+ profit.
BTW sweet find here with the 6200
My truck has been sitting for five years it doesn't need new oils although the transfer case did but I rebuilt it so that oil shit is bullshit
Great Video As Always! Strong Tractors Them 6200! Keep Up The Good Work Thanks Charlie
I enjoy your videos. Thankyou
Wow, that's one ugly ol overgrown lawn mower.
I think I first came across your Oliver vs 5020 tug-o-war. Those were good lookin machines.
You can't beat the old power johndeeres they'll run circles around the new ones @onelonleyfarmer
Thanks for sharing Wes!!!
Sounds like pretty good deal you do need a dozer loader on the farm if that's all wrong with it hell of a deal.
OK...so when does the dang Loader repair video start? LOL. Will you have time before you start seeding or have you converted 100% to haying?
Please categorize your vids a can't find the 1st vid of the 6200 and so on they all mixed up that if you got time
Your strategy for acquiring a cat track loader is brilliant plus the owner of the 6200 gets not only the original repair but also all of the other stuff you did for the tractor. You will get a track loader that, after your efforts will be worth substantially more than the cash you put into it.

when will we see the cat.
Nice deal on doing that project for a trade! I've traded services for things I need and don't want to do for things I can do easily and it all works out in the end for both parties. Love the vids and you should come out to WA State and visit 63impala sometime. ;) Mitch
Another great video, Wes. Question: do you ever sleep?
Love the videos
It would've been comical to see that 6200 next to the 8120. Just for a comparison on the size
Screw people, just keep doing things the way you do them. I like it and so do others, so screw them all.
Everything is for sale at the right price.
Nice Series!
wow parts seem very expensive for tractors
Did you ever bleed the brakes? How many gallons was that and was it as easy as a car? (pump, add fluid, done)
loved it👍
thumbs up bud great job!
You forgot to put the link in the description. ;)
on engine oil yes that is bullshit, unless you were 80% of the way to needing an oil change then the carbon in the oil will settle to the bottom and sludge up a little but will mix back in once u start it up
They will never find the bodies but they may get suspicious at IRD when their officers don't come back to the office. LOL
Our 5200 ran a small baler okay... But then again why not use a bigger one if you have it...
loved the vids.
Subbed at 4:15 and laughed like hell.
U sound like me when others rate engines at the flywheel.
Good job on the video i followed the whole thing John Deer rip the owner off big time they just made the tractor worse
how can 3 people not like this vid lol trolls are so funny
Some guy, not named, took exception with my comment that the collective cheer for getting this tractor going would out do a stadium... my, some of your subscribers are picky folk.
Gary Clark lol welcome to the interwebz.
For sure I am, are you from some humorless nation, Mack?
Loltomatoes changing up his name again!!!
Holy crap 900 for a starter!!! Way to go John Deere
cars that run with alot of ethanol in there fuel cant have oil sitting around, but just straight fuel is bullshit for sure your oils fine.
So.. Let me get this straight, for fixing the tractor, he'll take Tim and That's the last.. What? A Tractor? You CRAZY??
I can't wait to see that 955 bulldozing trees and such you better be operating so we get good footage of it desperado is a little camera shy isn't he if I remember correctly. I for one would never load or unload a 955 I've seen guys do it I'd have to change my underwear after unloading that machine
allied1394 loads of destruction we hope..
I thought you already have a 955 loader.
wildcat19671 the one you are thinking off belongs to desperado...
then who's is it..
Mack Thompson well that's funny because desperado dose not work for wes anymore..
Always have a hole dug, in case of murderus activities, lol!
Murderous Activities haha
Did youoand your father have a good shop relation like you and Tim have.he is learing a lot from you
