I was Deere mechanic back in the 70's and 80's. Did that job many times. But never on dirt! That last inch or two can be a bitch getting them back together. Can't force it. Just gotta get it lined up right and keep wiggling that back end until it pops in. Too bad the new tractors aren't that easy to work on.
