@@thehumanitarian99this can indeed be done with the vr, it's called augmented reality and in sure there's somewhere where this can be done in a warehouse which is laid out exactly the same as the map in VR and you are physically walking around while also doing the same thing in VR

I agree, but in some ways there was no real progress since 2015 (probably including 2015), and the time between that and this (around the podcast) was more like a solid improvement in some ways, so while it counted, at the same time it didn't seem much like a loss, or all the same there was continuity there.
These two parts of time have different meaning, the one being a waste altogether, pretty much, the other not being all that much either, but in a mostly good way. You see, 15 years. Normally way too long.
(My explanation is mostly bullcrap, but I've always been serious about the period since 2015, and not just because of what some might think, although I won't pretend it isn't tied to it. It is just sort of the illustration of how much many totally don't get how time since then has been a total waste, it is a symptom or the manic expression of it, rather than the "reason".)

The reason Karl seems so "stupid" to some people is he doesn't just blindly accept things as true because lots of people said to. He thinks for himself, based on what he has experienced himself. Sure, this means he'll be wrong sometimes but he'll also be right sometimes when everyone else isn't. And when he is right, it'll seem "stupid" to those who blindly accept what they've been taught.
That was a brilliant way of putting it. I agree. He's not necessarily "stupid". Just thinks differently. Its comedic gold though

Sometimes Ricky gets things so so wrong and then they treat Karl like the idiot
Trusting in the science that is currently prevalent, while still acknowledging that it might alter in the future, is not the same thing as blindly accepting what you've been taught. Of course, always be open to the possibility that the things we take as true might be untrue, but this whole "think for yourself, man" usually just means a barrel of baseless guessing from a bunch of presumptious amateurs without any real knowledge, experience or qualification.
He has the right attitude towards aquiring knowledge, but he has a bad memory for specifics and very little education to put things in the right context or get a sense of the scale of things. The main thing is: he knows so little about things, he thinks he knows lots. Dunning-Kruger effect.. That´s why he seems "stupid"
Karl came across the idea for augmented reality completely independently. He was a visionary.

@44:00 Karl making a beautiful, relatable point on conscious control and unconscious influence , like how breathing can be a conscious act and an involuntary response and two overinflated ego´s assuring him over and over: "you are your brain" and laughing at the nonsense of it all not getting the point that there is an arbitrary line at which we start calling things conscious and "I" and that it´s not at all logical to draw that line firmly around the brain..
This may be the best compilation yet! I've been laughing out loud all day as I run errands 😂
I like when Karl can actually say what he wants
I love both Ricky and Stephen but I feel like they play devils advocate too much on this show. They just disagree and try make Karl sound stupid even when he’s got a point or isn’t being so stupid.
I know... discouraged in the world today, you're arrogant if you simply speak your mind. Karl's a legend, wish I was surrounded by Karls in my daily life, I'd be doing a lot less guessing and mindreading.

Ricky Steve and Karl are like long term friends so it's odd to hear a voice which isn't them! In this case I'm ok with it because these are some amazing compilations and others just take them and put a load of video ads on them so if they are less likely to do so then I don't mind a few seconds of another voice over three hours of content

V.R. has been around since before 1999. We had very bad headsets, I´ll grand you that.. Gave you a right headache. but still. Using a dataglove and a headset to look into a 3D studio in 1999 at my work. And I think I was in a V.R. cave in Linz in 1995. So predicted is a bit much..

Only... they reversed their roles. Penny has practical smarts, and Leonard has learning smart. Karl has practical smarts, and Suzanne has learning smarts.

Joe is not stupid at all. Sometimes he's stoned but he knows a little bit about a lot of things and a lot about a few things. He has 3 hour conversations with experts on all sorts of topics regularly. Karl is a bit of a different creature, he's actually pretty competent but not the most articulate fellow. Their both awesome.

Korean alphabet doesn’t have an equivalent for the “X” sound or Z, R, Q but all the other letters can be sounded out in the Korean alphabet, also a lot less synonyms
