Thank you for this detailed presentation! I am a March 2020 Long Hauler with neuropsychiatric Brain involvement. I would like to share that the psychiatric manifestations are a direct result of the illness, and not due to general Pandemic isolation factors. I keep hearing medical professionals state that they don’t know if this manifestation is from lockdown or illness, and please know IT IS FROM THE ILLNESS-not other factors of the Pandemic. Thank you!
Thank you for your feedback. Agree with psychiatric manifestations being due to neuro invasive nature of virus. We covered the detailed mechanisms of entry and neuro inflammation here - psychscenehub.com/psychinsights/covid-19-and-the-brain-pathogenesis-and-neuropsychiatric-manifestations-of-sars-cov-2-cns-involvement/
Another critical piece of information!! It’s unfortunate that most First Wave Long Haulers who were refused care were not followed for neuro invasion of the brain. This has resulted in monumental suffering, and should have been anticipated by primary care docs based on past epidemics/pandemics...thank you for this detailed report on ways the brain is impacted by Covid 19!
@@REALAIEMPIRE I suffered a terrible relapse last September after an emotionally charged family situation…I am improving but had to abruptly leave teaching ( for the second time) due to this illness. I have been unable to find targeted care in my home state of MA due to a completely irrelevant and nonsensical requirement for a positive Covid test-they weren’t even available early on in the Pandemic…I travel to Illinois later this month to see Dr. Jose Biller! I am hoping to find help for my damaged Central Nervous System…Thanks for asking!😊 As to what has helped; therapy with a Functional Neurologist for Ocular Movement Dysfunction, Sensory Integration, Neurotherapy (Pulsed Electromagnetic Frequencies), therapy, and a host of medications!
@@jamfal5 Thanks for responding. Can you elaborate on medications? I'm in very bad shape, can barely keep my eyes open most days but my CNS is out of control. i have extreme anxiety and depression and loss of self as well as really bad depersonalization/derealization
Please could you explain what causes the brain fog experienced in so many long-haulers? How can the brain can get rid off all virus particles? Can some sequences from the virus be integrated and stay in the system like Spanish flu virus?
Already suffering Psychological/Psychiatric illness for years.... I never expected to be or feel as abandoned as I did during the Lockdown. It was real non-empathatic from relatives, family, neighbors, and Healthcare providers. It's been 2.5 years for me and I became quite the worse for it. Healthcare excuses were we are working 60 hours instead of 40...many new patients being doled out meds reaping .more $ every day .As victim I can attest to this "policy".
When I had it the top of my head became very sore and tender. I had to put ice on my head. It was scary. I lost my taste and smell still not 100 percent after two months. Neuro toxins.
Thank you . I work on a city hospital consult service and this was very relevant. You did a great job ; comprehensive and succinct. I shared it with my colleagues.
Great question. This was controversial. But a BMJ paper - cohort of 8.3 million people stated - ACE inhibitors and ARBs are associated with reduced risks of COVID-19 disease after adjusting for a wide range of variables. heart.bmj.com/content/106/19/1503
I experienced a psychotic episode after contracting Covid in August/September of this year. Is there anyone collecting data on this with whom I can share my experience? It occurred in the US but I was not seen by a doctor until I returned to my home in Ecuador. I am a US citizen.

I’ve covered the Braak Hypothesis in the article on Covid and the Brain. A Neuro invasive virus can convert Alpha-synuclein into a promiscuous binder and be transmitted prion like to other areas of the brain - e.g substantia nigra in Parkinson’s disease. psychscenehub.com/psychinsights/covid-19-and-the-brain-pathogenesis-and-neuropsychiatric-manifestations-of-sars-cov-2-cns-involvement/
It's a difficult question to answer via a forum. A clinical evaluation is necessary to determine the best course of action. For example, in another viral infection triggered psychosis ( anti -NMDA encephalitis ) - immunomodulatory agents, antipsychotics, teratoma ( some cases are associated with ovarian teratoma) removal are all valid strategies that may be used alone or in combination. So a psychoneuroimmunology team is best placed to answer this.
very good video, so much is unknown about SARS-CoV-2 CNS problems are just the beginning 46% diamond princess that are asymptomatic and subclinical lung abnormalities as well i have seen.
Not all. HIV has the CD4 , influenza another mechanism. COVID ACE-2 - yes correct the one associated with. renin angiotensin system but ace 2 receptor is situated on multiple organs . Hence the multi system involvement . @@PsychiatrySimplified I am a veterinarian with a general knowledge of physiology. I was infected with a virus in 2008 and never recovered. Current working dx is me/cfs. But, since your presentation, I can't help but focus on the ACE 2 and the RAA system. My legs have felt so heavy and seem like I am carrying extra weight (could be fluid?). My arms cannot be lifted above my head due to immediate weakness and pain. The fingers are always swollen but not from typical edema (almost like the blood vessels are swollen inside the muscle tissue). The hands have swollen veins since the incident. Many other dx me/cfs patients with the same symptoms. When I purchased a photobiomodulation unit, I began to feel the blood and lymph move (this is a temporary relief). Very curious that me/cfs and long covid may have something to do with genetics associated with or infection of the RAA system in some way. All of the baroreceptors all over the body are suggestive as well with regards to our POTS issues. Interesting. Thank you for putting this information out there in such a professional format.

My daughter is suffering from psychosis after covid. She had lymes disease before covid .
Try NAC 600mg Nocte
Look at liposomal Glutathione.?
Check with your Functional Doctor..
How is she now? My sister is not the same
I wonder if ace inhibitors or ARBs can have a good effect on preventing or alleviating symptoms

Sorry to hear. your doctors should be able to help. But health services usually will collate data; government sources link to these
I wonder the same thing!! Why is no one collecting this data?! SAME on the psychotic stuff 😩
Is there any update on this? I’ve been dealing with neuropsych issues since getting infected in 2021 and so far have been just trying to stay alive

Sir, does conscious attention convert Short term memory into Long term memory in human ?
Repitition, rehearsal and connection to real life experiences transfers short term memory into long term memory storage.
