It’s crazy because after getting Covid I started to just feel empty afterwards. It’s like before I got it I was feeling happy and energetic but now I can’t even enjoy anything at all.

I dealt with bad depression and anxiety in my childhood because of abuse, got a lot of help and treatment, now my depression and anxiety is back and my GP and neuro both think it's just my "old problems" coming back and I can't get them to take me seriously. I've never had brain fog or even experienced such terrible autonomic nervous system symptoms.

Very true, I had covid, it made me very depressed, every thing looked extremely negative, I questioned is it worth me living, I've never felt so low almost suicidal, after 3 weeks of first infection I feel back to normal but I am still afraid of the room that I was in.

I am so glad I came here. I have Covid now and it is so far not needing hospital or in my lungs. I spent the week crying and depressed and feeling so hopeless and sad and not understanding why. Trying to be patient and wait but not a depressed person and really hoping this will pass!

Thank you for the explanation! It really explains why so many with corona get brushed off with just "anxiety". I got all those mental problems after I got covid, but it was impossible to get help. I tried to mention the hallusinations, dementia and confusion, but the doctor looked at me like I was insane. She suggested psychologist. I wish it was possible to just mention my mental issues like any other symptom, but it really ruins the medical help. The ambulance left me at home when I was at my worst and my head was completely gone, so bad I could not answer their questions. Turns out I had inflammation in my heart and was only breathing with one lung, but the brain problems so overshadowed the other problems I could not even feel the pain in my heart when the ambulance asked where it hurts. It was incredibly scary.

It's unfortunate that more clinicians don't understand how infections can cause psychological problems. There is some recent research showing that even milder infections can worsen schizophrenia and other problems. I hope that the new research focused on potential COVID-19 post-viral syndrome will make the phenomenon better known and help everyone understand why inflammation can be the cause of psychological distress. - Jarred Younger

If your hallucinations are being caused by a viral infection, so the viral infection needs to be treated. I don't know how helpful antipsychotic drugs will be if your hallucinations are caused by an inflammation and not a "neurotransmitter imbalance". You would need to see a medical doctor/psychiatrist. A psychologist only does testing and psychotherapy. Therapy can help you cope with the problems your COVID-based psychosis is causing, but it will not "cure" you. Hard to say if the psych meds will help. Some classes of these drugs cause a low white blood cell count. Best to consult with a psychiatrist.

Recovering from a "mild" case of covid.. Lost smell and it latched on to my nasal cavity.. I then felt the virus penetrate into my brain where it caused all kinds of havoc. You can feel it alter your consciousness like a drug. It caused panic attacks and a thick negative blanket of despair. Also had hyper-stimulated auditory and perceptual senses. a pindrop would hurt my ears, a simple thoughts would be super-amplified, but only negative thoughts were filtering in. Nasty stuff. The mental stress of this made sleeping and eating near impossible.
It's starting to leave now after 18 days.

@Armed Proletariat Thankfully.. after peaking (about 18 days into it).. the intensity and frequency of the anxiety attacks gradually subsided to where I feel back to normal. But I can't overstate how unpleasant the experience was.. far more taxing mentally/emotionally than physically though the stress had gotten so bad I couldn't eat or sleep. You really need family friends to be able to talk through it and be with you. Day by day, sometimes minute by minute. but it should get better for you.

I had a severe reaction and was in the hospital for two months and had a collapsed lung twice. I didn't have loss of smell but I did have hallucinations to the point where my doctor contacted a psychiatrist who put me on schizophrenia medication. I would become two people, myself and a copy of myself and have conversations with that copy of myself and it all felt completely normal. I once hallucinated my mom (who has been deceased for fifteen years) was sitting next to me in the hospital room watching tv with me. Again it felt completely normal and real to me. I would know the hallucinations were coming because right before them I would get a very slight fever and start to sweat. I just mention this in case anybody else had similar problems and might be helped knowing they're not alone. I'm off that medication and no longer have hallucinations but I do think I have PTSD from all of my experiences.

I've never had any anxiety issues and while I was in the hospital I had to panic attacks. It was chalked up to stress of the situation and trouble breathing. Now that I've been out for a couple weeks I'm struggling with anxiety still. Refused any medication for anxiety upon discharge at the hospital because it was never an issue. I don't want to start taking medication but there's obviously something going on. I think everyone needs to pay attention to this and stay on top of it

Something just to lessen the suffering even a little would be so much appreciated.

Thanks doc, I've had no high fever but suffered depersonalization, sleep anxiety, agoraphobia anxiety, severe panic attacks which leads to hyperventilation syndrome, all which I've never had. After that I had four days of rapid pounding resting heart rates. And finally when that was over my anxiety went back to normal.
I suspect that I caught the virus through my bandana which explains why I did not have any flu symptoms really. (I wear my masks proper but did not wash them frequently)
Your video has aknowledged more about my mental health issues from these past couple months than what my own primary doctor and mental health team can say combined. The health care system is trash in the u.s., ppl suffering this in this manner are sent to a phycharitrist for harsh drugs and no one has answers. I sincerely thank you for this knowledge!!!
For anyone suffering this has been my regiment: no unprocessed foods, no red meats, just chicken or turkey meats, lots of veggies, no sugar, no yeast, vitamins catered to your body's needs including vitamin c. Full 8 hrs of sleep at your own body's circadian rhythm. And taking it easy on the stressors that caused high anxiety, in my case it was my fear of driving long distances alone. Godspeed everyone, we can get through this!

@@josephlittle2996 I haven't been thinking too much further than this video. My anxiety continues to spike randomly in the morning and evening depends on the fear triggers. In my case I now have symptoms of agoraphobia. There is something I have discovered that works to repel histamines that may be released by the virus. Try taking a quercetin. It's from fruit and it blocks the cells momentarily from producing histamines among other good preventions.
After taking a quercetin usually in a matter of minutes the unusual anxiety leaves the body for a couple hours. However last night I had a bad bout and it took up to an hour to relax.
I am now seeing a naturopathic doctor who is on a mission to find the root of the problem, thank God for alternative doctors.

Michelle, do you know that Jesus is coming back soon? Are you ready? Today is the day of salvation, choose LIFE (Jesus) before it's too late. It won't be long now until the great tribulation of 7 years starts (the last 7 years of the world as it is now, and Jesus will save His followers before the great tribulation starts ), all the signs of the times are pointing towards this, and Jesus is your only hope for salvation, so I'm begging you to ask God to open your eyes and to consider these words from God's Word carefully:
"Jesus said , “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)
"...if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:9-13)
"But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
"Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, He was buried, He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15)
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Jesus Christ said : “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:28)

      What symptoms do you have?

Here is a list of my symptoms: Itchy upper-body skin with rash-like redness, woke up one morning with mild fever, brain-fog, dizziness and anxiety (like fight or flight response being initiated without any thought on my part) ringing in both ears, alternating hot then cold sensations in the body, cool feeling across the skin of the legs, strange dreams, later developed sore upper throat behind nose and difficultly swallowing saliva (hesitation, required 2 attempts to get the muscles to trigger swallowing), and finally most of these symptoms presented in a one to two day cycle. That is I would be symptomatic for 1 or 2 days then feel fairly normal for the next 1 or 2 days... This cycle repeats on-again off-again.

Question everyone? I have Covid but I’m in the middle of getting over it, I’m suffering from insomnia, anxiety and poor appetite. Should I see a doctor? Is it ok to ask for help?

I'm afraid it can. Don't quote me, as I am no expert. My sister has mental problems and has always refused to take medication. Recently she has been acting severely paranoid, and making bad decisions in reaction to the perceived problem. I fear for my 9 year old Nephew. Stay safe! A better world is near! Rev 21:3,4

I thought I was stuck there forever which made the anxiety even worse .. but on Friday I came out of it and all I'm left with is a really bad case of tinnitus.. but I feel entirely grateful the psychological stuff is gone .. if that went on long term I'm not sure how I would have coped
