    Well at this stage you have nothing to lose. Pull the engine, split the cases and see what you can find.
    XJ is a pretty straight forward engine.
    Those Yamaha cases weld nicely if properly prepped.

    Sorry to hear that... I have the same bike, so I especially don't like seeing one of them in trouble. It's such a great bike. May you find a good replacement engine soon and get a ride or two even before the Spring 🙏😊

      Thank you for your kind words! I can happily teaser that the next videos are all about buying and installing a new engine! Stay tuned 😋

    It’s been a month since I bought my white XJ6N, and it’s a bike that’s truly worth appreciating. So far, I’ve been riding it just for fun, and it hasn’t disappointed me. It has good power, and the best part is the sound. I’m planning to install an exhaust system, the "XJ6N 09-15 Low Exhaust System 300mm Oval Black Stainless Carbon," which doesn’t produce an overly loud sound, and I’ll remove the sticker so the police don’t stop me XD. I hope you can sort out the issues with yours, as it’s a very admired bike and is becoming increasingly rare.
    Good luck, and I hope for the best!

      Very cool, I'm glad you find joy in your XJ6N! It sure is awesome. There's few things as fun as customising your own vehicle and going for joy rides. Wish you many happy kilometres! Be safe.

    Perhaps it's normal or a bit of an optical illusion, but when running the bike on the jackstands, it looks like the outputshaft with the small front gear wobbles a little bit as well. Enjoyed the video as somebody who likes working on their own bike as well!

      You're quite right! We noticed this during the first test with the chain on but as all gears engaged we thought it might not be an issue. Looking back at it that might be an indication of the main axle in the gearbox being bent ever so slightly which could be another source of the rattling noise. Another reason why replacing the engine is the safest option at this point!

    If you completely disassemble your old/broken engine and take the time to sell everything that is still good. You light get lucky and get more money than what your new engine costs.😉

      I definitely will disassemble it because I've always wanted to see everything for myself! Though I don't want to sell the parts just like that, instead I am thinking about making something else out of them, like decorative items :)

    Mit welchem Kilometerstand hast du das Moped denn gekauft? 4000€ klingt nach einem guten Angebot (ohne mir jetzt bisher deine vorherigen Videos zur XJ6N angesehen zu haben).
    Ich frage, weil ich momentan auf der Suche nach einer Maschine in der Preiskategorie bin und mir die XJ6N auch schon ins Auge gefallen ist :)

      Es hatte 20.000km :) Für ein 15 Jahre altes Motorrad natürlich hervorragend. Ich kann es nur empfehlen!

    Did you figure out why it broke?

    • @KiaraShifts
      @KiaraShifts  27 днів тому

      I can't say for sure why the chain snapped but there are a few possibilities that I discuss in the first episode. It could be due to the chain not being lubricated sufficiently, being too tight/too loose or from wear and tear that eventually led a weak link to snap.
      When the chain snapped the loose end hit the crankcase so hard that it caused a dent. The impact inside and outside most likely damaged the second gear.

    Wäre es bei dem Motorrad nicht wirtschaftlicher direkt ein neues zu kaufen? Oder hängen da noch Emotionen dran?

    • @KiaraShifts
      @KiaraShifts  Місяць тому +2

      Tatsächlich nicht. Ein neues Motorrad würde 4-5k kosten, ein Motor kostet "nur" 400€. Mit allem drum und dran bleibt es auch unter 1k. Aber ja, hat auch mit dem Gefühl zu tun nicht einfach aufgeben zu wollen :)

      @KiaraShifts krass. Hab mir gedacht, dass du da nicht unter 2,5k kommst
