MASH is a French brand created in 2012 and surfed on the “Neo-retro wave” by proposing motorcycles like cafe racers or classical scrambler. The SIMA strategy for this brand is simple : all design and look are created in a French factory based in Beaune (a French city). And for the construction, everything is made in China or India, with the European norms. I’ve bought one of them in 2014 and that’s why I recognise this style… and these problems (especially for the fuel tank).

I know the guy who used to be the US importer for TMEC dual sport bikes. 200cc Zongshen engine was fairly stout. I remember him telling me that the oil they toss in is actually the start of the break-in period. In other words, when you first start the bike, let it run for several minutes. Then drain it and put in real oil. A few weeks after putting it together, my bike got damaged by a woman running me up a curb on a dual left-hand turn (broke some bones, too), but the bike still ran on and on (after banging some bent things back with a hammer). Rode it for two years, year-round (southwest Arizona) commuting 33 miles round trip daily. It still ran when I bought a new one from him, but it was nice to get a new one without all the bent bits...

I don't understand what you're fussing about, with the tyres. It looks like a typical 1970's to 1990's 125cc to 250cc sports or commuter road bike. Skinny tyres (front = 2.75 to 3.00 / rear = 3.00 to 3.25) width. It would be cool to see you do an in depth prep. (balance and true the wheels, try and align all the bodywork and lights, swap out the engine and fork oil, maybe upgrade the carb etc) and then see if its measurably better
Greetings from the UK, I showed to my father who built cafe racers in the 60's. His first comment was if your starting point was a B.S.A Bantam you'd end up with something this size only way better!!!
Gday there! Love to get some advice. Looking to find a bike that I can do up and learn. Don't have a lot of money so the older the better, however still need to be able to get parts if needed. From my very limited looking I like the look of APE bars as it seems to be comfortable and if you where driving a car / how you sit etc. Like a cruiser, not after any form of speed etc. More just a highway style bike to go for a cruise on. The vrod Harley looks amazing, but understand its to complex and also costs way to much! But yeah open to suggestions please! or suggestions from others please!

I have one of these and while it is not fast off the line, it gets moving (60+ mph). Fun little scooter to get around town but definitely not to be used for a road trip.
SR here we come. -But modifying one of these Amazon bikes makes sense. -And usually you can get these with problems used very cheap $100-300. Same for problem scooters/mopeds.
Okay before anybody says anything yeah I know I should get like a Grom or something, I know but I’ve rode motorcycles before 400cc and 650cc I gotta admit aslong as a bike rides I’m okay with it, but like I’m looking for somehting for my first bike I’m only 19 for reference about to be 20 I’ve been saving up, and before anyone says it I know Amazon is probably the worst place to go bike shopping but I want something cheap that I can put together, and I just wanna say thanks to this man for giving out these videos and telling us how these cheap Chinese bikes are, it’s helpful when making these decisions, so please continue your work, I don’t wanna get scammed and get something that doesn’t drive that’s all I wanna say really
I'm a homeless vet and all I have is my motorcycle. Unfortunatly, the rear gear went out and now I'm left walking everywhere. This bike would be good for getting around town.
My brother set up all the bikes coming into a Boston dealer. They received a container load of 50cc two-stroke Chinese scooters for all the DUI customers. Quality control was hilariously bad, but one in the batch was a powerhouse monster. He warned the customer who bought it, "Be careful with this one; it'll bite you." The guy laughed, and half an hour later, he was lying on his back outside the shop in the middle of the road.
This looks like a great bike to make an electric conversion w/ the 72v Death To Gas kit.... It's pretty much a plug and play w/ any 2 bolt or 4 bolt engines, like the Honda trail bike or mopeds, along w/ many other bikes. 😁👍
Looks like they based the styling and build (quality and attention to detail) on an amalgamation of 90% of the home-built cafe racer build blogs you see on the internet. If it wasn't for it having both an airbox and a front mudguard, I'd say they totally nailed the genre.
13:00 my mom bought a brand spanking new Yamaha V Star 650 Custom in 2004 for 4,000, sold it to my uncle a couple years later and he is still riding it around.
Those bikes and the 400cc variety are everywhere in China. Over there you can buy them new for like $800 or less, or like $300 2nd hand. A few days in the rain and everything on it is rusting. But it gets you from point a to b.
Tilted headlight could be intentional. For lowbeams, you want more light on the right than the left. You can still see the shoulder of the road, but you don't blind oncoming traffic.
Best 2000$ I've spent was buying my first bike, a 1997 BMW F650 Funduro, 650cc single cylindeduait was reliable and fun to ride, got me into dual sports and trail riding, sold it for the same amount I bought it and used the money to put a down payment on a T7, still regret selling it because it was such a sweet little bike but couldn't justify keeping it as the T7 does everything better!
I originally looked at bikes like these when I was shopping in 2022. Then I bought a Honda Super Cub. It might not be the fastest or the biggest, but I'll have it paid off in five months and it gets me 100mpg, so I'm happy and I don't regret paying a bit extra for it in the slightest.
My 1969 Suzuki AS50 was a similar size but it seems that EVERYTHING is much bigger nowadays. Latest BMW X1 is the same size as the first X3 for instance.
Yep, the 'bigger is better' mentality has taken over big time. Look at the Mini car for example. The modern ones look like they're on steroids, and the 'Mini' Countryman is as big as an SUV. But they kept the 'Mini' name! The 'bigger is better' mentality is subconsciously or consciously connected with big-ego issues.
These Dongfang bikes are not too bad (of course taking the Chinese into account). At least the engine is stout and will run forever. Venom/Belmonte are known as a fairly decent mail-order firm and are known for taking care of issues such as the shipping defects (but you have to follow up with them).
In june of 2012 I bought my first bike, a Skyteam Ace 125 CC for 1600€ (Belgium) it was the highest amount of cc's I could drive with just a normal car license. My dad was pissed but I could keep it. In august he passed away... Fast forward to the present and 17.000 Km's a new headgasket new brakes new carb and a straight pipe later I still own it and I still love to ride it!
In México theirs a similar looking bike called Italika ft 125 (it's a work bike) and another one similar they have in colombia wich i'm pretty sure theyre just renamed versions of a loncin bike, this one in the video just looks like a moded versión of those ones
I have just bought a Chinese 125 called a Mash Seventy in the UK. 2 years old and only 60 miles on the clock. I have only bought to ride as it is so light and I recovering from a big operation. Not used it yet. The engine looks very similar to the one you have bought

To be fair my 1973 Honda CB175 has "bicycle tires". You don't need a lot of rubber for a small low powered motorcycle.
Small tires better on a 9hp bike.
Almost all 125-250 Italian bikes from the 50's & 60's had the same thin tires.
Most people don't understand the foot print of a streetbike tire. Usually your only riding on a 2in×2in rubber to road contact..
Even the 125cc races like the Maico 125 RS6 had such tires. Was still good enough for 190 km/h.
Ditto my 1978 Yamaha RD200DX and you could happily get knee dragging lean angles if you were pushing it round the twisty bits.
0:15 Better title would have been i bought the MOST EXPENSIVE cafe racer on Amazon.
You need a heel shifter if your riding in flip flops.

It goes past 75 on a 250
Upgrade the carb and it's even faster.
Same with the lifan kp mini 150 that was my baby I so regret selling it, it was the best wheelie bike I have ever rode
It would be cool to see you do an in depth prep. (balance and true the wheels, try and align all the bodywork and lights, swap out the engine and fork oil, maybe upgrade the carb etc) and then see if its measurably better
Except Sean is about as mechanically inclined as your left shoe!!! 😂😂😂
From a fellow arborist in training. It's nice to see you wear chaps good sir 👏👊
Says it's a 250cc, read that it's a 225cc, then says that a 125cc has a bigger engine. Did you have a stroke my guy?
Too busy thinking about what bible references he can slip in
love these vids man always have u should bring em back full time
Gave you a thumbs down for all the whinging & quit watching at 25:59 Not your best work.
Whining haha do you means when I noticed and informed the viewer on the damage ? What do you work for the company that sells this stuff ??
@@BikesandBeardsits irony, the video randomly cuts off at 25:59 brotha
Yeah I did the same bro this channel is trash
I was going to say there was a missed chainsaw opportunity, but, of course, Sean did not disappoint
The cafe racer is an English invention!
Bike revolution tv baby!
hey, i dont know if you will see this comment or not but your channel has been a huge part of my childhood, I have grown up seeing you guys an d you guys make fun videos, but also unlike other channels your videos have values and morals too, especially videos where you do amazing deeds, your videos turn young boys into responsible and good adults. i am from India and I hope we meet at least once in my life. if you ever come to India please give me a chance to meet you
Who else at work not doing a damn thing lol
Hey don’t call me out lmao
I have one of these and while it is not fast off the line, it gets moving (60+ mph). Fun little scooter to get around town but definitely not to be used for a road trip.
Would you try to modify one of these Amazon bikes until they become real bikes?
Yes
I think you would have to replace everything. Even the frames usually have bad welds or are made out of weaker alloys.
@@wildBill83 not really, search for a video from a channel called "Jish". He made the V-twin look amazing just by cutting it.
I don't think you dropping hints to get a free bike is going to work
Are you 5'-2"?
Bro!!! That 1200s is dope. Somebody is gonna be super happy for spring time in 2025
i will ride that bike event its a crap because its better than nothing when you cant buy a expensive bike
But for 2700$ you get this wrapped garbage? That's sad, also maybe just get a REAL motorcycle which you can even get cheaper than that
I don't know. I found a ninja 250 for the same price. Patience brings rewards
You can get a really nice used known brand bike for what that cost and then you can actually find parts if you need to fix something.
Another quality video mate.
That thing looks like a Yamaha SR250.
Been thinking about getting an SR500 actually.
You talk too much.
Manufacture Statement of Origin. If you’re gonna talk non stop at least get it right.
My brother set up all the bikes coming into a Boston dealer. They received a container load of 50cc two-stroke Chinese scooters for all the DUI customers. Quality control was hilariously bad, but one in the batch was a powerhouse monster. He warned the customer who bought it, "Be careful with this one; it'll bite you." The guy laughed, and half an hour later, he was lying on his back outside the shop in the middle of the road.
haha thats amazing
Got to the 420 part and I must say, me being a smoker, OFCOURSE ITS 420😂😂😂😂😂
Those bikes and the 400cc variety are everywhere in China. Over there you can buy them new for like $800 or less, or like $300 2nd hand. A few days in the rain and everything on it is rusting. But it gets you from point a to b.
haha top dog of a bicycle crew😂😂 killed me!
Is it weird walking around with pictures of yourself all around you. And wearing sunglasses like that
My friend put that poster up. I also find it weird that it’s there. But what can I do
At 10:49 that seat is not only driving you nuts, it's also taking your nuts 🤣
The sight of that bike's rear hopping during the burnout had me in tears of laughter.
I cracked up at "shipped over the internet." Don't think ive ever heard it put that way 😂
Check out what they do with the 150 Hi da TMX in the Philippines. The bikes are made into cafe racers, and scrambler, they are beautiful!
That would be perfect for just puttering around my neighborhood and the campground. I think the sound is pretty good for that.
Any item sent back to Amazon and resold will have an LPN sticker on it.
Look for it on the packaging somewhere. Great Video!
It's toilet time when a new episode of Bikes and Beards comes down the UA-cam pipe.
I’m pretty impressed. Looks pretty cool, Sounds good and would be great for pootling around town.
In México theirs a similar looking bike called Italika ft 125 (it's a work bike) and another one similar they have in colombia wich i'm pretty sure theyre just renamed versions of a loncin bike, this one in the video just looks like a moded versión of those ones
Great vid!!! 👍 🏁
I have just bought a Chinese 125 called a Mash Seventy in the UK. 2 years old and only 60 miles on the clock. I have only bought to ride as it is so light and I recovering from a big operation. Not used it yet. The engine looks very similar to the one you have bought
MSO is Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin. Had to look it up myself. Worked at a dealership for almost 3 years and I’ve finally looked it up after wondering myself for all these years lol
theres loads of these chinese 125ccs in the UK, theyre actually pretty good i had 2, one of them lasted 4 years, no hiccups till it rusted away.
Finally bro keep posting these types of videos
Have any of these Amazon bikes been good? Would love to see a video ranking them from worst to worst. lol
Great idea
Buys garbage, opens garbage, surprised it's garbage.
