Magnificent acting by Andy Lincoln. A real tour de force. Amazing writing and acting by Danai. My heart shattered into pieces when Rick broke down about Carl disappearing from his dreams. And then Carl reappeared when Michonne presented him with the phone with Carl etched on it. 😢 Stellar episode.
Episode 4 is absolutely phenomenal… Best acting I’ve ever seen for Rick & Michonne. One point in this episode actually made me ugly cry like never before watching a movie/tv show.
So I really appreciate that Danai didn't write in the obvious thing that she believed Michonne expected would bring Rich back. We all thought soon as he heard about RJ that he'd snap back into true Rick Grimes form. But instead Danai brilliantly writes in Michonne excavating the thing that broke Rick having to do with Carl. What a lovely way to bring Carl back into this story because their family in many ways started with Carl! It wasn't the expected moment we all thought it would be. To me, it was so much better and beautifully done. So many tears fell from my eyes! Wow. Well done Danai! 👏
I agree with you! This is nothing against RJ, but he is an abstract to Rick right now. That’s why it made much more sense for this to be about Carl. Carl is the one whom Rick had the most memories of, and losing those memories is what broke him. Michonne handing him the phone with Carl on it brought the memories flooding back. Danai is a brilliant writer. What a magnificent episode.
While I also wanted him to revert to feral Rick in an effort to get home after hearing about RJ... realizing you have a son out in the world that you had no idea about is hard to take in and it can be easier to pretend like you never found out and keep on living as you had been living. I appreciate Danai going this route and not doing what would have been expected and easy.
Rick acknowledged he was broken. I appreciate her calling him out on his bullshit. Rick can lie to everyone else but not Michonne. She sees right through him.
Rick and Michonne should get the help of Portland, Alexandria, Hilltop, The Kingdom, Oceanside, the Commonwealth once they learn of them, the main characters from World Beyond, and look for other good communities to join them in their fight against the CRM
The variant walkers come in episode 5! Or that’s what it looks like to me. Maybe that’s why they have to go back? Episode 4 was great but I think 5 will be even better. And I have to shout, THERE IS NO WAY THERE WILL NOT BE A SEASON 2. YALL there is no way they can wrap this up in 2 episodes NO WAY!
That's what I've been thinking! I really hope so and I hope they don't try to wrap it all up in 2 episodes because the show has been top notch so far (4 episodes going strong) so if the last 2 ruin it, I will be super disappointed :(
I agree with you 100%. This show has been top notch and I want it to continue to show us all or most avenues. I think it would be badass if Rick and Michonne ended up going to help Darrell and then Darrell, Carol, Maggie, Negan, Rick, Michonne, and of course MORGAN go change the CRM from within somehow. I just want to see our family take down a big bad Pharmakon (both remedy/poison) like the CRM one last time together. Better than the rushed last 2 episodes of the original walking dead. Now that would be something I’d LOVE AND PAY big money to see happen. 💗 another cool thing a long time from now would be to watch all their children take over leadership just due to their parents just retiring from leadership and watch all the children run things. Turn that 500 year plan into a 50 year plan. lol 😂
Ant Gold with the "we are the weapons" was iconic 😂 I cannot wait for the next episode! This entire time I've been watching these I've been highly anticipating them like I used to, and I love it. They have that yellow truck, so you know Jadis will be coming after them at some point from what we've seen in trailers.
The reliance on writing and acting in this episode reminds me of the Frasier's season 1 ender, My Coffee With Niles where the entire episode deviates from the usual episodes and plays out like a one act play. So much is conveyed in this episode and unfolded in a brilliant way. I was afraid episode 4 might have been the first weak episode of this series but it certainly was not.
There's an episode of Bojack Horseman that's kind of like that, except it's just a monologue the entire episode with a twist joke at the end. One of my favorite episodes of that same show is when it's essentially a silent episode (when he goes to the underwater version of Hollywoo), again, ending with a twist joke. Great stuff.
One part confused me when michoone said how she met that woman that gave her the scars she was 7 months pregnant but after the bridge blowing up wasn't there a 5 year time jump at the end of that episode so my point is we never actually saw michonne pregnant.
Best UA-camr more walking dead I love walking dead I'm big fan of walking dead I'm so happy new walking Dead saaaa yes I subscribe to Daj hahaajahahaajjahaah😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I agree. The comment he made was definitely ignorant and of course a black man would be the one to say it. And the babies they have together are mix/biracial. Not light skin blacks .
It was really weird, considering how the BC in particular views women Danai's skintone. He could have kept that. That's the only flaw in this video. They were on point with the rest.
Sadly I don’t like this episode that much and it is my least favorite of the 4 so far mostly because I found Rick infuriating this episode but it is still a good rating at 6.5/10
Judging from the comments I think I’m the only one that didn’t really enjoy this episode yes the acting was great but no way this is the “best” episode like people said with that being said great reaction as always bizzy
1 is my favorite too, but I think this episode stands out a lot compared to the last two + the writing was great, it was great to finally have actual dialogue with these two @@Xoluisss
Pfft. Considering how good the writing has been, Killing Rick would be like destroying the entire franchise and its purpose at this point. Not even Gimple is that stupid especially after the massive L he took for Carl and the backlash it got. There would be no future for the universe. Everyone would leave in droves.
@@sealj Yes I know I agree with you, but I think you didn't read my comments correctly I said that apparently it's a rumor that it wasn't sure because everyone is talking about it.
Michonne is annoying. She wants Rick to go back just to live in the wild with their children n danger, what sense does that make. This show should’ve been about Rick taking over the CRM and leading humanity to a better future instead destroying everything
Rick literally tried to go back multiple times. does that make him annoying? she wants to have her family back and he does too. rick just doesn’t see a way to do that.
They literally weren’t living in the wild. They have multiple communities so she isn’t brining him back to the wild. And he isn’t staying out of some real sense of duty. He’s staying out of trauma, brainwashing and fear. That isn’t who Rick is or how he leads.
@@Pfruit0916 bro how many times have their communities been invaded and destroyed… they’re definitely living in the wild especially compared to the CRM. Rick has the potential to the be the leader of the most powerful military in the verse making his children more safe than ever and actually has a chance to better the future for humanity.
@@Ronruk Rick is one man in a military of thousands and they have all been brainwashed into believing it’s okay for them to mass murder innocent ppl. Michonne isn’t crazy for wanting her husband away from that or for questioning if on his own he can change that very sick and toxic system.
This show is a love story. These characters have been separated for 6-7 years. A rift has been growing between them since their reunion. What, did you think it was gonna be resolved in a single action or conversation? That's not how life works. Glad other people got it, though. The other episodes were HEAVY on the military stuff and fighting walkers, but they can't take some time and resolve a roadblock in the main plot point? Okay.
You don’t deserve a beautiful episode like this. The Walking Dead has always been about people, not Walker killing. In order for Rick and Michonne to come together agsin, they needed to hash out their issues, or else it would feel false. That’s what you call storytelling.
