This format is still up to 10 Sprint rounds. Very early on, after the champion won 10 Sprint rounds, they had to play another Sprint round to determine who will be the designated champion and then play the Crossword round. Later, they went with 2 consecutive Crossword rounds after the 10x Sprint champion was crowned.
This looks to be from sometime after St. Patrick’s Day 1986, as we can see with the sign in the ceiling now flashing. By around, let’s say Father’s Day 1986, they moved to another studio lot, debuted the audience pit as well as debuted the blue backwall with pink dots and began captioning what’s upcoming before the commercial break.
Actually for Chris it was a $13,000 win.
