I love this! I love the whole lineup but Scrabble was hands down my favorite game show. And I love that these are complete with those classic comercials that I just can't get enough of. I wish there was more of this stuff out there. Good times; the best part of my childhood! ☺️
For being from an original NBC broadcast from 1988, this tape is in much better shape than some tapes from the 1990s era repeats on USA that I've seen on UA-cam and DailyMotion.
James Zenor I am in Des Moines, too! I remember watching Classic Concentration during its original run, despite me being only 5-6 years old! It's one of my favorite game shows!

Dam that little girl was good in the main round but suck she lost in the bonus round. Did anyone notice how small she is and how chuck look at her?? I will agree with check she talks like she 35.
Another match game 1973-1984 and family feud 1976-1986 reruns on nbc scrabble and 2 male contestents aired on Friday September 9 1988 beginning of my sophomore year 10th grade at Portsmouth nh high school Portsmouth nh 03801 and lived at 5 Nancy Lane Raymond nh with my family I was 17
Back in 1988, the noon news came on after Scrabble, this was in the central Iowa area that is, Days didnt come on til after the noon news, didnt know that huh?
I heard her say "Trader", which is why she got penalized. I felt bad for her, though, I thought maybe she was going to break down in tears or something. But she somehow held it together. For being 13, she was pretty precocious and played the Crossword round well.
Rodrick King but how could she take 19 seconds for the first word? What was the Clock showing both after guessing the first word and by the time she got the penalty?
islandblader I knew that, but how did she get the clock down to the point where she was disqualified? If the clock was set at 29 seconds, she should've been able to get to about the third word.
I think later that year, Dan Ford leaves as Unit Manager. Fran Calderone who used to work on staff on The All New Let's Make A Deal with Monty Hall becomes Production Manager for the rest of the Scrabble run.

Christina got hosed big time but Brett dominated. Would have beaten most adults. Loved this show as a kid. Thanks for posting.
She was old enough to know the word, especially as a military brat.
Thank you so much for posting this complete NBC game show block. It's a real treat!
Isn't it?! :-)
Yes it was...except for Daytime Wheel of Fortune..
Nice to see a commercial for a historic part of So Cal! The LA county fair! Timeless!
For being from an original NBC broadcast from 1988, this tape is in much better shape than some tapes from the 1990s era repeats on USA that I've seen on UA-cam and DailyMotion.
“Stay tuned for Days of our Lives next, on most of these NBC stations.”
Hey there, just wanted to extend sincere thanks for posting these shows. :)
Agreed with you, these shows in my area were on WHO-TV 13 in Des Moines, IA back in 1988
James Zenor I am in Des Moines, too! I remember watching Classic Concentration during its original run, despite me being only 5-6 years old! It's one of my favorite game shows!

Pretty cool huh? You have a good New Years, hope your 2017 is a good one!
This show was at NBC. KNBC is still around.
Poor Christina, she looked like she was about to burst into tears.
She should have known the word.
Friday September 9 1988 match game gene Rayburn and Richard Dawson family feud was a comeback rerun on nbc on Friday September 9 1988 episode of nbc scrabble on la knbc 4 also tattletales Bert convy showed up as well
Nice to see an entire NBC daytime game show lineup from back in the day posted :) This would have aired on USA sometime in 1994.
She likely wasn't going to get the last 2 in ten seconds unless she knew it in a snap, but that was awful. That's on the judges.
Dam that little girl was good in the main round but suck she lost in the bonus round. Did anyone notice how small she is and how chuck look at her?? I will agree with check she talks like she 35.
Nancy is super hot then. Wish I was a teen again.
I thought Christina said traitor right. What did she do wrong?
30:12 - NBC News At This Hour with Tom Brokaw.
Another match game 1973-1984 and family feud 1976-1986 reruns on nbc scrabble and 2 male contestents aired on Friday September
9 1988 beginning of my sophomore year 10th grade at Portsmouth nh high school Portsmouth nh 03801 and lived at 5 Nancy
Lane Raymond nh with my family I was 17
23:29 Chris said "Trai-tor" now, she may not have understood what she read but she said it. I think she was robbed.
Chuck gave Brett and Gabe actual $100 bills. I thought by this time, he just gave contestants those pink and blue "Chuckbucks".
Sam Sticka February of '89 is when they instituted the pink and blue bucks.
Apparently take a very close look at the $100 bills...it was not color coated yet, but they were Chuckbucks.
Was it also Teen Week for Wheel of Fortune that week?
I would have gotten my ass absolutely kicked by these kids. Incredibly bright. Congrats to them.
23:23 - That should have counted. She didn't pronounced it correctly but she did say TRAITOR. SMH
But she didn't actually know the word--which is a travesty, especially for a military brat.
The nytol commercial!!!!
I am here because of Raffy Tulfo and the significant date in Ed Calaug's episode. LOL
What about "Days Of Our Lives" the episode aired on September 9, 1988? You taped the beginning.
Back in 1988, the noon news came on after Scrabble, this was in the central Iowa area that is, Days didnt come on til after the noon news, didnt know that huh?
This show was on KNBC.
KNBC 4 has this show, "Super Password", "Sale of the Century", "Wheel of Fortune", the NBC version of "Card Sharks", and "Win, Lose or Draw".
This game show was on KNBC 4.
Spoiler Alert -
Chuck complains to the producers again. :)
I wish you had more Game Show episodes of everything
I think this show, was at NBC Studios, in Burbank, California.
Paul LaRue That's correct.
Brooke was just 14? Wow... I guess today's 23 looks like 1988's 14, then?
She was beautiful, too! Here's hoping that has stayed with her through the years.
Meanwhile Christina looks like she's 8 haha
Starting in September 1988 Laura Saroyan joins the Scrabble crew and stays till the end of the run. She also works on Sale of the Century.
19:10 to 19:42 is my favorite
I never been to Michigan.
Christina was ROBBED
That was a bad call, but I don't think she was going to knock those final 2 words out in 10 seconds anyway.
Sports Fan agreed. I distinctly heard her slowly say traitor. It's like she was reading it out on the screen after stopping the clock.
I heard her say "Trader", which is why she got penalized. I felt bad for her, though, I thought maybe she was going to break down in tears or something. But she somehow held it together. For being 13, she was pretty precocious and played the Crossword round well.
My Birthday already passed.
Didn't the "End of Summer Bash" on Sale of the Century occur around that time?
The week before this run of episodes.
Instant Disqualification for Guessing the Word Wrong with 10.0 or Less Left on the Clock
Rodrick King but how could she take 19 seconds for the first word? What was the Clock showing both after guessing the first word and by the time she got the penalty?
+Gerard Landry traitor was the 2nd word
islandblader I knew that, but how did she get the clock down to the point where she was disqualified? If the clock was set at 29 seconds, she should've been able to get to about the third word.
Brett's girlfriends at the end there. He probably did them all in school.
I think later that year, Dan Ford leaves as Unit Manager. Fran Calderone who used to work on staff on The All New Let's Make A Deal with Monty Hall becomes Production Manager for the rest of the Scrabble run.
She worked on “Wheel of Fortune”, too.
