We must be near the end of the straddling format by this point - considering the $100,000 All-American Tournament started shortly after this (and then the Bonus Sprint was added after the tournament, along with the show going to the $100K tournament's self-contained format permanently for the rest of the run.)
Really chuck? The first thing he does is ask that woman if she married her husband for his money, calling her a prozzie from jump? Lol They sure did get a ton of mail! Loved this show!
Watching the previous episode, I assume Dixie was brought back because Chuck didn't offer her a chance to guess the fourth word before they went to Speedword, but maybe it was something that happened on the word that was edited out, or maybe it was because her opponent was a jerk. (They wouldn't bring someone back for that, but jeez.)
Home viewer contests they did several times throughout the run. Some people don't know how to follow instructions, but they just put it all in there anyway.

Someone messed up for the Spring, the second word was 8 letters, not 7. Didn't affect the outcome of it though.
Supercilious...what a great word :)

Holy crap Jon is funny
@18:43, was that Reg's voice in the background?
It was probably either Robert Noah or Gary Johnson.
@18:39, how did scrabble end up with junk mail and postcards?

@@wschmrdr And this isn't even the craziest thing to happen during a sweepstakes drawing.
