@"Digifangsn" yes, back then, on Monday, April 5, 1993, this "Scrabble" game show had Mr. Charles "Chuck" H. Woolery as its previous host just as his former studio announcer there was late Mr. Arthur W. Ferguson [though professionally known as "Charlie Tuna"]!
+Andrew Patterson R.I.P. to Charlie Tuna who was not only the voice of SCRABBLE, but also the voice of Scattergories, Time Machine, The NEW SCRABBLE, The NEW Battlestars and of course, America's Top 10 with the late Casey Kasem Charlie is now up in heaven with Mr. Clark and Mr. Kasem, plus Reg Grundy has outlived Charlie Tuna, Jim Perry who hosted $ale of the Century, Gene Wood and of course, Mr. Dick Clark
In that third word in the first crossword game, I think Chuck meant to say "I'll add $1000 to the jackpot if you can tell me what it is right now". Did he forget you don't give them money this time? LOL.
Scrabble should be on either Game Show Network or Buzzr TV. It should be on Buzzr TV though since they got they big sister show $ale of the century is on there.
It can go on Buzzr since Reg Grundy is now part of that Fremantle conglomerate. The only thing standing in their way is that Hasbro now has control of Milton Bradley AND Parker Brothers and they own the rights to the Scrabble board game (heresay from elsewhere mind you)...from what I understand Hasbro collectively now isn't as loose with its copyrights as Milton Bradley was when they were all separated.
here's what aired in network primetime: ABC: FBI: The Untold Stories, American Detective, ABC Thursday Night Movie CBS: Evening Shade (back-to-back), Prelude to a Championship, NCAA Basketball Championship (North Carolina at Michigan) NBC: The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Blossom, NBC Monday Night Movie In late night: The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (Woody Harrelson, Holly Hunter, Brian May)
UNC won the title that night with a bit of embarrassment for the Wolverines. In the game's final few moments, Michigan's Chris Webber tried to call time upon being double-teamed when the team had no timeouts to use. In so doing, he was given a technical foul. This proved moot years later, with Michigan vacating its 1992-93 season due to Webber getting paid under the table by a booster.
Nick Johnson while it was a good concept, I would've liked it better if the jackpot started at $5,000. I wouldn't have even minded if the blue squares were worth $1,000 and the pink squares $2,000 in this version.
The blue squares were worth $500 while the pink ones were worth $1,000. The real life Scrabble has red squares. They should've included those on the TV version. Those could've been worth $1,500.
@@blindsportslover, I agree with you about the blue squares being worth $1,000 and the pink squares being worth $2,000 in this version, but I personally would start the jackpot at $10,000.
At the end of this show, it talked about Telephone Scrabble and how an alternate entry method worked. I didn't do well in Telephone Scrabble and I lost out back in 1993. It resulted in a poor Christmas for us 7 months later, well, times have changed now as they were 26 years ago. Too bad Scrabble ended its run, and now Fremantle owns the rights to the series.
Thank you Chuck for making Scrabble a fun show, rest easy
"We've got a candelabra for you, and you can stick that anywhere you like."
Chuck say never take a p

20:12 May 21, 1993 was the day the last first-run show of Scrabble aired. Reruns then aired until June 11, 1993.

He was arguing about how dirty his producers are.. where have all the cowboys gone?
Scrabble is a Reg Grundy Production. Charlie Tuna's famous catch phrase at the end of the show.

At 5:16 I'll take a P please. He should've taken care of it before the show. XD XD XD XD
If only Sale of the Century gets revived in 1993. T_T
Wacko Is Just One Name Of The Warner Brothers, Opposite To Yakko And Dot.
Classic NBC Daytime
I WANT ONE OF CHUCK'S SCRABBLE CARDS!!
Those words/clues in the exact order from the Sprint round were recycled from an earlier season
You indeed are a real fan of the show... 😊😊

Why would she pick the O instead of the B in Limbo? That could've been an extra $500.
Sounds like she legit didn't know it.
Wow! with 3 tenths of a second left!
Lucky
@Mark Simons And risk a Copyright Strike from GSN?! get out of the city!
I didn't know they revamped Scrabble before the show got canned!!.... The new music sucked!! The old music was much better

The letters in Sprint Round appeared too slow. Terrible version.
Why didn't Jean get $1,000 fior solvimg Wacko when the landed on the pink square, or did that only apply on the '84-'90 version?
The pink and blue squares were for adding money to the bonus jackpot

It's too bad "Scrabble" didn't come back for a second season in the fall of 1993. They could've changed a bunch of stuff.
