The fact that you made the conversation flow so well between the takes just goes to show how good you are at this, it actually feels too damn real, honestly Joel your work just keeps getting better and I can't wait for the Joel Universe to get its big screen adaption lol
Many actors struggle to make conversations sound real with their corresponding actor sitting right infront of them acting the scene out with them - and Joel just nails it doing it alone? It's not just entertaining, it's also super impressive.

This was so impressively acted and filmed, Joel is god tier. I'm rooting for this couple
Id watch a whole series called the joelverse where he plays every character
The editing and the ability to have a well timed conversation with yourself. Well done.
It's good to see you happy, man. She's clearly your other half.
Finding a movie is the hard part? Nah finding the date is
@26 mic No
My heart: Awww, will they kiss?
My brain: They can't, it's Joel recording himself twice at different times
My heart: shut up! If you are in love, everything is possible
“He’s a Joel, She’s a Joel, You tube the Algorithm”
@@Psookpy we don't deserve you
How could they? They didn't even watch a movie!
I did get lost in Connecticut once. My phone died on the way back from a job interview and I didn't have a car charger with me and so I had to just go by the signs on the highway, but I somehow ended up going in circles
Joel talks to himself quite convincingly. Gotta give him props for that.
Wow the timing for each scene with both Joels in it are just so perfectly executed, they flow so naturally
Don’t know how you do it. Creating a funny and wholesome story within 5 minutes. The whole atmosphere you build in your videos is just amazing! Keep on the great work man!
I get this being a personal fave, this is fucking hilarious, appreciate the extra push from you to watch this one, ashamed to say I wouldn't have without that. Glad I did now obviously
You're welcome! Sorry are you talking to me? I wasn't sure if you were getting my texts before but I guess texting the number in the second bathroom stall at the Loves truck stop in Dayton, OH has yielded some results!
Same
Wtf kind of weird love story is this
That description of Lost In Connecticut and the conversation about it was one of the hardest times I laughed during your videos. So dang good.
How does one get lost in Connecticut of all places?
"Conneticut"
One of those strange little human moments when you wonder about the sanity of the near stranger across from you who just said something like how a movie about accidentally killing a family and squirming out of it looks hilarious to them. And then before you can make too much of it the conversation moves on and you still have a good time together.
@@brendanmcgowan508 Thank you! You’d think autocorrect would catch that…
I made a video for class once where I made it look like I was taking to myself. That is not easy to do, and you did it so seamlessly. Your editing skills are god-tier
I think this might be my favorite video from you. Its hilarious, heartwarming, and despite the fact that you're speaking to yourself in a wig, the conversations feel so genuine.
That duet was off the charts. Even knowing how uniquely gifted you are at this stuff, it felt impossibly organic.
This is significantly less funny than it is kind of genuinely adorable?
Am I the only one who actually felt heartwarmed by this?
This was wholesome as shit wtf
It would be just wholesome if Joel got another person to play the “girl”, but whenever I think about him being both people, it is also very funny.
I feel the same about the space "Hold" episode. Just genuinely heartwarming and strangely human.
Aye, this was way more adorable and wholesome than I expected
The ending was sugar incarnate "we forgot to watch a movie".
"Heart of the Equation" is almost 4 hours long, and I can't even imagine what would fill that runtime.
This takes "Love yourself more" to a whole other level
"Old Man City" is the funniest fucking thing I've seen in a long while.
The fact that you made the conversation flow so well between the takes just goes to show how good you are at this, it actually feels too damn real, honestly Joel your work just keeps getting better and I can't wait for the Joel Universe to get its big screen adaption lol
the part where she scared him while he was brushing his teeth made me cackle like a witch
That little sigh at the end is a cherry on top.
So on point!
Joel makes a weirdly convincing girl ,
considering the facial hair.😂
I would be more weirded out by chest hair tbh 😂
For me the neck beard throws it off. Dang it joel clean your crap up!
It's all in the acting my friend. The man's just gets it. Here's to hoping he stars in the next Judd Apatow movie 🍺
@26 mic wow you're desperate
@@Catastropheshe but not the balls and doodle? Lol
Many actors struggle to make conversations sound real with their corresponding actor sitting right infront of them acting the scene out with them - and Joel just nails it doing it alone?
It's not just entertaining, it's also super impressive.
Why is Joel more convincing as his girlfriend than himself?
That chemistry!
I have watched this like five times and the movie summary sequence puts me on the verge of tears every time
Holy fucking shit! I can't imagine how hard it must be to film this, and it feels so natural. I had to remind myself that you had to sit by yourself and speak to the air with perfect timing to manage those little interruptions that are part of any conversation.
These are funny skits, but damm you gotta give yourself a pat on the back, the acting is fucking tremendous! Thank you for sharing your talents Joel!
This fills me with so much nostalgia, it’s oddly heart breaking. Fuck. not what I expected. Joel is too good.
Please turn some of these movies into future skits, maybe trailers or "scenes" from the movies. I think that'd be awesome!
Joels are such a cute couple.
Im glad I found Joel Haver late and that he regularly uploads new stuff, but I already dread the day I know is coming where I'm all catched up on his stuff and he has no new videos for me. Truly the best sketch comedian on UA-cam. If SNL or something were to hire Joel Haver I'd get a TV again
This started out as just funny but turned so sweet
For me, "wanna watch something on Netflix?" always, without fail, turns into 2 hours of talking about movies, actors, and the other person's awful taste in both. 😂♥️
As a person who has picked a movie on a date before I can relate
I can’t believe big Steve is in old Man City I have to watch that movie right now
I have never wanted anything more than for you to actually make those movies
This is insane how natural he is with himself
I didn't even know wholesome cringe was a sub genere before this video and now I want more of it lol
This is so relatable!!! So many different emotional undertones throughout the scenes, but still maintaining the comedy through it all is what's impressive to me. So good!
“Oh my fuck” absolutely got me. Came outta nowhere lmao.
The split editing in this is incredible I don’t know how you did it
Lost in Connecticut was a great watch! The juxtaposition of the dead family and the cow farm in the background spoke volume and was a great way to start! I also enjoyed the epic cameo of Sir Huxwell.
I subbed to you a little over a year ago, now you have over 1 million subs. I think you are one of the most deserving youtubers ever. Keep up the great work man.
Oh my God this editing is insane
All I have to say is
Joel please film a scene from Old Man City
(and also this was lovely, thank you 🥺)
Joel somehow perfectly recreates every movie date I’ve ever had
The editing and acting was TOP TIER.
I like to imagine this is just Joel going insane.
The wig you used looks pretty cute. I am a bit jealous of her bangs.
this warmed my heart :) it was genuinely so cute. hollywood always has picture perfect romance, it was nice to see that awkward dates can also turn into something wholesome & quite more bonding!!
This is complex and compelling. The emotional struggle the character goes through in such a short run time is highly relatable, and not entirely dissimilar to the character Thor from the movie Thor: the Dark World.
Joel your writing is some of the most earnst, believable stuff I've ever come across. This and the others from the dating trilogy (and your movies too) are honestly great.
