- The S2 Vela Satin is a vintage-inspired guitar with loads of personality and tonal textures. The Vela boasts a contemporary offset body shape, and the addition of a satin nitro finish provides added attitude and resonance and a truly addictive feel. Its pickguard-loaded electronics feature a PRS DS-01 pickup in the treble pickup position, providing a bright, punky tone, while the PRS Narrowfield in the bass pickup position gives the Vela some noteworthy bite. The coil-tap on the tone control allows the treble pickup to tap into single coils, providing a balanced tone that will cut through the mix with style. Anchoring this guitar is the PRS plate-style bridge with two saddles that were designed to compensate for intonation. This bridge harkens back to Paul’s early designs and traditional bass plate-style bridges but is top-loading for easy restringing. Like the bridge found on Paul’s Guitar and some Private Stock models, PRS’s plate-style bridge features brass saddles and a steel plate for maximum tonal sustain.

I think the Vela is the most interesting PRS guitar. My S2 594 is a keeper based on the neck profile alone, great guitar. My next PRS will be a Vela

I put a Lindy Fralin Big Single Mini (42 gauge wire option) in the neck position of my Vela. It sounds like the PRS factory pickup without the noise and it drops in perfectly!
Would love PRS view on what the tone difference is with the S2 Vela semi-hollow. I’m sure Paul has an opinion 😂 Tbc I like Paul a lot

Semi hollow, yes. The other specs, not yet that I'm aware of...kinda makes it a different guitar (like a semi-hollow custom 24)?

Only one Prs which looks almost nice IMHO. Others are too refined and too toyish. But this ugly headstock... There is something in it design why i couldn't stand for it.
