I am still riding a pair of Campag Victory hubs with Pianni Paris/Roubaix rims and bladed spokes. When I have a cafe stop it's not uncommon to have questions and comments made about the wheels. They can't believe they are over 30 years old.

I am from Poland and we have several companies in Poland that produce wheels, e.g. Dandyhorse. They build wheels, including making rims by themselves. There are several other companies that work this way. And what Pete was talking about - they take into account weight, height, but not how old you are.
Keeping the craft well and truly alive here, making a living solely on wheels for the past 8 years ;-)! It's a passion here too. Pete's a legend and so great to hear him talk passionately about his journey; he's been on my list of people to reach out to for some years now but not yet found the time! Great memory of the Merseyside Div Champs 1987 - I was in the break all day with Pete - there was another small group up the road and we ended up sprinting for 6th place........he beat me!
I bought a bike and wheels (of course) from Pete in 1993. Bike still going strong, although I recently replaced the wheels with another pair from Pete. I once watched him at work. Amazing. And although he as a master builder may not need a fancy stand, I, as a rank amateur, certainly do!
Huge respect for mr. Pete!!! If I do not kill myself taking too damn hard doing hardcore things on my MTB (lol!), I do hope to keep riding my bicycle until 80 years-old and beyond =D

And one more comment to sum up. I remember my beginnings of cycling. I used to live in England in Bolton. All the places Pete talks about remind me of where I started. Widnes, Stockport or the hills between Darwen and Horwich.

Great video Andy. I love the interviews. You need to get them while you still can. The northwest is full of cycling history and legends that needs to be shown and preserved. Get on to Terry Dolan... I had a pair of Petes wheels a few years back. I actually sold them to Keith Noronha from Reynolds. Wish id kept them. Best wheels ive ridden. Keep it up mate. ps... ive got a Merckx corsa extra that needs sorting out if you want to use it.😅😅

I do bike mechanics as a hobby and on several occasions I can see the frustrations on a friend's face when he mentions he's getting a bike, then asks for advice on what to get. I always answer with depends on what you're using it for, trail riding, down hill, around town, etc. I can't give generic answer. Again thanks for the content and "Crack On"...

Great video. I went to see Pete many years ago to get some wheels for my son who won many races on them. As a teenager I purchased two pairs of secondhand Pete’s wheels a pair of 24’s on Royce hubs and a super pair 18/20 on the same hubs which I won a few hill climbs on- superb wheels and a great guy.
