    I've watched all the Graham Weigh videos great content. I worked in a small bike shop in Belfast in the 80's that Graham supplied, I had vitus road and lo Pro, mavic ssc groupsets, delta brakes, Alan frames, watching this content brings it all back. I met Graham once and from memory he seemed to be wearing a fur coat (alf engers style?)

    I would really like to see a video where Graham demonstrates the official factory technique for replacing a damaged lug on a Vitus alloy frame.
    I know in one of your videos with him where he was discussing the Vitus frames that he mentioned that he had actually been trained on how to do this at the Vitus factory.
    He is probably one of the few people in the world now who actually knows how to do this operation.

    I have a Chesini Innovation, but mine doesn't have the engraved head tube. I believe that mine is a rare model, perhaps even a prototype or a professional bike (it has a number holder braze-on on the top tube). They are stunning frames, and as the name suggests, quite innovative with the sloping top tube. Great video, and GW needs to write a book to keep all of his anecdotes and knowledge for future generations.

    I fitted some AX Dura Ace brakes to my more modern tt bike (Trek Equinox) just because I thought they looked cool.... modified them, made a 1.2mm (from memory 🤪) stainless steel shim that stuck out the brake a bit, put a bend in it, sanded a chamfer on the back of modern cartridge pads and glued them to the shim.......... I'm not sure if the pull ratio on tt brake lever are right for them but they stopped well and most of all, looked cool😎

    Totally understandable why you wouldn't ride the rare, valuable and fancy stuff and that's why I say to buy mid level bikes and groupsets. Not rare, not precious, don't need to be original, can have modern parts fitted without upsetting the purists and can be used almost daily 👍...would love a replica of the TVT low pro btw😎

    Graham is a mystery. He sitting their wearing a Molteni jersey from the days of Eddie Merkx, he has a shop full of vintage bikes that only now at 75 years old he is thinking of selling but yets he insists on riding these carbon, disc brake, electronic rubbish, and compares it to electric windows on his car to winding down a manual car window. Has he ever tried to repair electronic electric car windows compared to manual ones? Many people are now saying on line that the technology has gone to far, its a racket, a scam, bikes are overly complicated and costing people hundreds in repairs. Fine for him to waffle on, he's got hundred's to choose from with a warehouse full of parts.

    • @BikeItUK
      @BikeItUK  Рік тому

      He certainly is a fascinating guy and yes he’s got a sense of mystery about him. He’s lucky and worked hard to be in a fortunate position to ride new and have the experience and in depth knowledge of old. I personally have had a few 11 speed chains now snap on me so I hear you. I completely agree certain things can only be taken so far and the UCI also control and restrict development in certain areas of the bicycle which is a shade and that has directed the industry on certain paths. Thanks for watching happy peddling 👍

      @@BikeItUK Oh Scared of Jesus buddy don't say that. My steel Tomassini is my pride and joy. I put 11speed Shimano 105 on it and you have to be careful with these chains. Removing rivets to shorten or lengthen the chain is tricky. You must i repeat must everytime use a new Shimano rivet, you cannot re-use the old rivet. Years ago 6,7,8 rivets were reusable because the chains were really strong.
