Hey Alex! I found your channel yesterday and since then I've spent all my hour just watching your videos. The travel ones are my favorite, but the how-to series is equally amazing for me. I graduated as a Journalist last year and have been always a fan of film making. For a bunch of reasons I never got the courage to just start my own stuff. I'm ALWAYS afraid of it. Thinking is not good enough. That it's superficial, that it is lame.... etc etc. This year I'm working as an Au Pair in Germany. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to share the image of the kids, but I've been building up the courage of travel videos only with me. You help A LOT. So Thank you!!
I was inspired to make travel videos and started my channel because of your videos and advice. I'm still learning and will appreciate honest feedback from everyone :) Thank you!
All it took was this one video to subscribe! As someone who is new to youtube and wants to eventually create a travel vlog, this is super helpful! Thank you
Watched so many videos which were claiming to give you good tips on how to shoot travel videos but this is the first one where I actually learned something! Thanks a lot Thomas!
Thats actually a set of usefull tricks! These kinds of videos on youtube tend to be either som guy repeating his philosofie over and over in different words, some hard to follow rant out of an idea that hasnt been properly narrated (much like this comment) or just simply a bunch of duuh-tricks. These three points I can actually follow and try right away. I wish youtube was more like this!
I stumbled upon this video looking for tips on making a gopro travel video. Up until now I've only used my camera for photos, but I think its finally time I give video editing a try. The content on this channel is great. You talk about things that never even crossed my mind. I appreciate the suggestions and am really looking forward to my trip in a few weeks to try them out!
Thanks for the video. Just started my first travel vlog today. Was only on a GoPro as we were hiking but will use these tips for this weeks travel into the city.
Tusenbensen I enjoyed it too. I think the main point were these: 1. Smooth motin (probably by using stabilizer) 2. Slow motion 3. Good sound design (by using sound effects) 4. Nice zoom in transitions Btw I'm a filmmaker and I work with similar transitions a lot. It would be awesome to get some feedback on my wor :)
Ella Lindskoug Seaech for "zoom in transition". You should find many good videos on youtube. Also to get good at editing in general I recommend looking at other videos and really pay attention... Feel free to check out my stuff, I use these types of transitions too. Have a nice day :)
We love your tips. So simple but so effective. We just started our youtube journey with our own travel videos and we appreciate and use your knowledge. Thanks Thomas for the good stuff and keep bringing them :)
You know Thomas, for the longest time I really disliked your channel, not your fault at all, but mine. I continued watching though and now you are absolutely one of my favorite YT'ers. I dare say I even have a bit of a mancrush on you. You're dynamic to watch, you explain things really well and you LOVE what you do. Glad I stayed to see the magic.
stumbled on this dudes channel today ... worth sharing i guess... couple fliming tricks i learned.. - use low angle shots - use strategic camera movement OR don't move at all 😎
Great tips, I didn't know about the first one, although I understand the difference, a sample showing the difference between normal and low angle would be great! Thanks!
I am going to really work on fluidity of movement with my videos! I am totally guilty of the 'walking around with my camera like I'm drunk'. I pan one way, then mid-pan, switch direction, and then look down and then back up again. I'm all over the place. Will keep in mind to try and replicate the movement of a dolly or crane, or just don't move at all! Thanks for the tips!
I've got a few "hacks" for you: 1) If you shoot against a sunset and allow the camera to control the exposure, the camera will likely expose for the sunset, and you'll become a silhouette. occasionally, the camera will adjust exposure and blow out the background. this kind of thing makes for unpleasant viewing. 2) These aren't hacks. These are tips. Don't use the words hacks when it's not a hack.
2:14 Hack 1
3:07 Hack 2
4:41 Hack 3

How did you do this bro?
Ryan Tan ii
Hahahaha
Hack to see hack videos :)
Hack 1: Film from low angle
Hack 2: Use cinematic movement or don’t use movement at all
Hack 3: Flow
Your welcome 😆
UA-camrs that make professional level stuff like you get me very excited for the future
Made some good points, but would have been cool to show more examples of what you were talking about. Thanks for the video.
I agree

Pls don’t ever stop making videos and I love your courses

Ett Venter to be fair he's probably just using marketing. Hacks get more clicks than tips right now
Bre Yo clickbate
The Magic of Keelan Wendorf or, marketing. Tips and hacks aren't so different that you'd leave this video disappointed
Ett Venter he literally said hacks/ tips ,what's wrong with you? Take a chill pill.
Difference between 8k views and 800k views?
