  • Want to know how to change your tires without damaging the rim?
Here at Rabaconda, we’ve already taken all the precautions possible to prevent rim damage or scratches when you’re changing tires with our Street Bike Tire Changer. However, there are a few things you need to do so your rim stays scratch-free and shiny:
Make sure the tire is clean to prevent any dirt getting between the duck head and the rim
Check the contact surfaces of the duck head for any uneven surfaces or sharp edges
Inspect the rim for any sharp edges that could cause damage to the duck head, which in turn might scratch the rim
If you’re changing a tire with a hard sidewall, it’s always easier when the tire is warm.

I do have a Norden 901 Expedition and I frequently change street tires for off road tires and vice versa. I am fed up with paying the money each time. Would you recommend buying the rabaconda street bike tire changer or the dirt bike tire changer?

Are you using bib mousse foam inserts when you ride dirt?
It can work on dirt bikes as well. If you have rim locks on your dirt bike, you should incorporate an extra layer of precaution and awareness when navigating the rim lock.
However, if you use bib mousse inserts, the only option is the Rabaconda Dirt Bike Tire Changer with a set of good tire irons. Mounting bib mousses with a duck head mounting system is impossible. For the rest of the tires, tubeless or air-tubed set ups, the Street Bike Tire Changer is a good option
