Who needs a Redeemer or Vanguard Hoplite for marine transport? Just load up your marines into the torpedo tubes and fire away for instant boarding action!
If you're using it as a capital ship that's going to repair smaller fighters. Cargo space is a big deal. Where else are you going to put all those spare parts? Not to mention ammunition and fuel? So it totally makes sense this has the cargo space it has. Depending on how the economy in the game develops. Perhaps this ship could take on the more dangerous cargo runs that you could charge a higher fee for.
It looks like the stats page is correct on turrets. There is an additional rear turret on the bottom-rear, and there is a top and bottom missile battery. If the concept model retains all of the turrets, it'll have six manned turrets, an automated nose turret, and two automated missile turrets. Having 4x2 size 4 guns and 1x2 size 5 guns all with forward facing arcs is a lot of firepower. With the 4 torpedo tubes, it's off the chain. Add a Gladiator to the bay on top of all that? It is a pretty effective capship killer.
Randall L if you look ar the brochure you'll see that the bottom rear turret is automated like the nose one, so there's 2 automated and 5 manned turrets, not 6
With the two missles turrets and the nose turret, that is still three automated turrets, along with the 6 other turrets, which i believe are all manned - two top/front, one on each side, two rear-facing.
Observations of mine: Length will be 155mm looking at the hangar with the gladius in there and working from that. 6 turrets are there, you can see 3 on top, 2 on the sides and 1 on the bottom (rear). Torpedoes is 4 tubes 24 warheads total in stock. I assume the missile turret will be an anti fighter role mainly. Anyhow it is a warship as noted which makes it ideal for a PMC style org as you will be using it for the right purpose :)
Well, the chin turret does count as a bottom turret. So it does have 2 bottom turrets in total. I was a bit concerned about a blind spot underneath but it's not that bad, considering how quick this thing is designed to be.
I think it should be okay as far as blind spots. A ship this quick ought to have a roll rate to match, meaning it should be able to bring its side and top guns to bear on any target perpendicular to its axis.
ChaosSandwhich She's my SSV Normandy. Fast, maneuverable. Can harass larger and smaller vessels alike. Hopefully I can equip her with low-sig powerplants, electronics and weaponry. Gonna go stealth in this beast!
My org has several capitals already and the addition of the Polaris allows us a bit more flexibility with the lower crew counts. This thing will be awesome in packs.
13 minimum crew - 5 on bridge: pilot, co-pilot, captain, remote turret operator, communications officer, 1 station in engineering, 1 station in torpeedo bay = torp weapons station. That is 7. The rest are 5 stations to man the manual turrets tallying a total of 13. Additional 9 are hangar, troop support, ship support, marines for breaching defenes and utility operations, hangar ship pilot, etc depending on the mission.
This is the ship I've been waiting for. I see it as a mobile base for me, since it has a proper hangar (as opposed to the little one on the carrack) So I can take out say my avenger in it, park it up somewhere whilst I do my thing in the avenger and it's there if I need somewhere to run to or repair's/refuel. Would be cool if the vanguard does fit, but i'm happy as long as it can fit something with at least some versatility in it.
STL, your 6th gun you can see it under the ship at 3:33 time. It's towards the back in a slot coming up the middle of the under belly.. just under something white in that slot.. I don't know what that is.
I see this as a dedicated escort. In most modern navy's a ship like this is meant to protect supply ships and patrol the edge of a fleet. If your organization is running D/E series Hulls; this ship is the perfect protection option. It's fast enough to engage threats before they can reach the freighters and powerful enough to deter small groups from even trying. That's were I would primarily deploy mine anyway.
I counted 7 manned turrets. One on top and bottom at the rear, one on top and bottom behind the bridge, two on the sides, and one under the bridge at the nose (Or alternatively, two on top behind bridge, one under bridge, two on the sides, and one on top and bottom at the rear in a different model). And if Idris is anything to go by, there would be a couple of people operating the torpedo room as well..... Though I haven't seen what's been advertised on the brochure yet - so yeah I'm probably wrong :P
This ship is going to be way too overkill for anything I am planning to do. And with the extreme crew requirement, I am definitely never going to get one of these (It simply will never fly lol). It looks great though, and I do hope to fly on one some day :-)
Agreed on all you note, and especially that the size of the turrets is unanswered and key. I also would not want to fly with with anything less than a pair of S3 guns in each turret. The shields and armor will be too little to have something that cannot knock down fighters quickly.
STLYoungblood, can you imagine the polaris in the role of a long-range reconnaissance ship? I ask, because it is far more nimble than the other capital ships (light armour, heavy shields) and it can travel much longer distances than other recon ships like the sabre. In addition it can also carry a sabre for short range scouting.
six turrets confirmed 3 top(one back facing behind fighter bay) 2 sides, 1 bottom. Seems like 2 x size 1 manned turret, though switching them out for larger unmanned mounts might be a thing. The pylons give me hope for swap-able things for the torpedoes, they are currently listed as torpedo room as one and the other 2 are torpedo storage. you can zoom into the hanger in the holoviewer also.
STL great video as always. one comment; If you click the nodes on the Holo viewer it tells you that the 3 pylon mounts are actually listed as 1(size 10, 4x torp launcher), and 2(size 10 Torp stockpiles). so three hardpoint, one for the launcher, and two hardpoints for ammo storage.
Thanks. I have been waiting for this badboy and picked one up when I was surprised with the discount. And my expectations and ideas about the role and use of it, was pretty much backed up by your guesstimate. Good vid. See ya in the verse.
The detail I'm most curious about is if the hangar bay is going to be a modular component that can be swapped out. I could see this, as a sub-capital ship, being similar to the Corellian CR-90, where it's kind of an escort ship, a cargo ship, a medical ship, or for smaller engagement, the heavy. That said, I could forsee alot of use for this among my group of friends depending on several details.
This is a multi-purpose ship where it has the speed and firepower to chase down fast & agile ships like the 300i, but also has the weapons to keep something like an Idris at bay until the rest of the fleet arrives
I bought one as the base ship for my Intel Brokering Org. Big enough to be imposing but not large enough to where I need to expand my Org numbers to crew it. We will be in extremely dangerous areas in space mapping jump points and scanning for other valuable data, so this is perfect.
For those that have already pledged enough to possibly melt ships to get into this small cap ship. If you think you're going to want a cap ship in game, then get it now. CR already stated in an interview that ships that cost 3x the price of a Connie now, will likely cost 10x more when the game launches. So if you've already made the investment, get the big ships now for value, and earn the small ships in game.
As long as I can pull out the torpedo bays and replace those with med bays. Take out maybe a turret or two and replace them with sensor arrays. And then pull the fighter out and replace it with a landing craft for scientists. And then increase the cargo bay somehow. This will be a great exploration/science vessel.
I want to have a ship that can allow my friend to dock into, so far this seems like the only ship that gives that option, its versatility is also really interesting; but it does seem like something that is beyond what I really need.
One of the packs it comes in suggests that the vanguard will fit. Team this ship up with a vanguard and all the kits loaded on board you could have an extremely deadly combo
Well i bought it. Was waiting for the idris to be on sale again. But are org is a compact one and the idris might be to heavy to maintain. So this might be a better choose after al. Hope they build op on its versatility. If not well there is alway the jump 890..
This ship is perfect for my plan of running a PMC. Load up a crew to manage this and have an Argo, redeemer or even a terrapin in the hangar and drop off a load off troops for shock an awe hired missions
It's a 155m ship that does everything the 71m Retaliator does, but better. They even play the same way, except the pilot may actually be able to use some of the "automated" turrets if he/she wanted too.
I think this ship could split into two because there is a very significant line behind the cockpit, I don't know :/ but hey, it makes sense since it's a military class ship
So what about just jam packing the hell outta the hanger bay with merlin P-52s. You can transport a swarm of small nimble attack crafts into battle this way. Im just eyeballing it and it seems like you can probably fit like 6-9 p-52s
Agreed, I have one in my fleet as well but it CANNOT be the only ship a player owns. I will be waiting for the QandAs to see exactly how and where it can be best utilized, then I will take from there.
thing is, you can't just own this as it doesn't come with a game package, so you will at least have a starter ship to earn the pennies whilst you bleed out money to run this thing :D personally I plan to rent out some of my other ships to get it up and running.
this ship is really only useful against larger capital ships. the hammerhead seems to be the most effective at all forms of low-mid level ship offense/defense
I see two side turrets, one dorsal rear, one ventral front and two dorsal amidships. There should be one more. I'm hoping ventral read since that is uncovered. any ideas? Have you seen anything about can ability mine-laying, or top speed?
great video man. top bag I don't have the cash to get this right now guess I'll be earning this in game which according to one guy below who thinks it should take a year to earn. I'll be using my Caterpillar to get to this ship
The Polaris looks sleek as hell. The cargo capacity may be small for a ship of this size, but its not exactly a U-haul either, so you could use it for hauling very specific cargo, like small bulk but very high value commodities, something like gold bullion for example. The kind of thing you'd normally need a heavy escort to transport safely. The Polaris would give you a means of transporting those high value, high risk goods, in something that can fight anything it can't outrun and outrun anything it can't fight.
Yeah, my little posse of players is looking hungrily at this as an in-game purchase. We have our fighters and freighters, but we aren't willing to melt those to get something we can only use when most of us are around.
you can use it with AI. Of course we don't know how effective they will be, but a good thing about this crew size is you could easily run it as a drop in/out shop for multiple people, with a small ship in the rear for if someone wants to shoot off and do their own thing. Don't forget though that you can get all the ships in game, so I guess it comes down to whether you think you can earn one of these or a small ship each the quickest. (and it's help if we knew about insurance, to see if the LTI is worth it. I imagine this'll be expensive to insure)
I think this ship is really what I was hopping for when I got the Retaliator. Tho it's not nearly as sexy looking, the Polaris lay out and functionality fit what I was hopping for in the PU! I want to travel and take on odd jobs as I find them. I know I will need a crew for this ship and I have 2 additional game accounts that I plan to use for cheep labor.
I'm really looking for a ship around 100 meters, all around with a cargo area and a hangar for 4 medium ships and plenty of turrets. Don't need the missiles my organization should be concerned with how to handle enemies capital ships lol, and i'm in your organization stl!
What won me on it was exactly what was mentioned. A cap ship with a small cap crew. So you get that feel without near as much of the crew burn... And it is basically a tali on steroids haha. So I melted my tali, its modular bits, and my Orion (tali needs at least two s2/3 for the pilot to be fun to fly and I've learned that the orion is just not for me anyways). So that along with a sub cupon, I paid entierly store credit. Had I not already put so much in, I may not have gotten it. And definitely not as my only ship. I have a Lancer and Starfarer to generate some income when the Polaris is just impractical to use. And a Hornet to pop into the back of the Polaris too... This really should not be someone's only ship, not just because of the operating cost and irl cost (seriously, I've spent way too much the past 4 years and I know this lol, but it was all spread out too) but yeah, there is gameplay that you will miss if you can only do missions related to such a specific and largr ship. And you might easily run out of UEC... Personally I think the Starfarer is the best pairing for any ship needing upkeep, but even a small transport ship will dig you out of the hole when your "fancy flyer fund" runs dry. That's just my 2 cents as a Polaris holder ^^,
It could be a good pirate ship for hunting down a Banu or so. Enough firepower to be a serious threat, fast enough to hunt down a Banu, a ship-bay to get to the captured Banu and/or haul the captured goods and enough storage to get away with them. :)
They still haven't answered whether or not we can spawn more than one of our ships at the time in-game upon release. If I have an Orion, a Carrack and a Polaris, can I call all of them and have myself and members of my org use these three for a mining and exploration run, using the Polaris for protection? Or will I be limited to spawning one only?
Well.... Can't wait to see it ingame.... And awaiting is long when you see Kraken on advance stage, Hammerhead advanced too... Idris and javelin almost finished (but they are waiting collar and SQ42) and still no news on unloved polaris... I almost go get Kraken since i realllly love style, and concept (lot of SCU so u can haul & carry you m8 with small ship like prospector to be a mobile restock/refuel/repair base ) but it was too expensive... For 300$ i would have take it but price was shown without VAT and i tough it was with VAT... :'( Anyway... want my polaris and carack coming as well as way easier to add hercules and mercury :)
I know it’s not as good as a hull series for cargo. But. Couldn’t I use it for cargo? Would pirates try to mess with it? Is there a way of knowing how many people are on board when they scan me? I feel like it could be good with a few npc crew.
If I ever earn enough in game to buy this ship, I'll use it as a pirate ship but not the way you mentioned as a base. More to "commandeer" ships that I could add to my collection or to sell. Going around hunting rare ships that are no longer available for sale sounds like a fun past time.
Might work, deliver the ultimatum, either you hand over the ship to me or I will unleash all 24 torpedoes. A case of either way this goes down you aren't leaving with you ship so you might as well hamd over the keys
Depends on the penalty of death or ease of escape, because with that ultimatum I'd make them fire as many expensive torpedo's as I could, then self destruct just to give the pirate the middle finger lol
Eddy S I'm curious to know how interdiction mechanics will interact with piracy, as I can imagine many pilots would be tempted to make a break for a jumpoint in dire situations
ChaosSandwhich yer, and we know there will be an "EMP" type ability with the avenger module, and also some form of E-warfare. I imagine you'll maybe have to take time before just jumping to calculate the destination or something, which will give someone else time to disable you, or maybe you'll need time for your engines to cool.
If you have an Avenger Warlock, or some form of EMP weapon/torpedo, you could knock out the ship. "Remove the pilot", and take the ship off his hands. I am thinking an F8 Lighting will fetch a nice price on the black market.
I wanna buy it... i wanna use it for like a heavily armored cargo/transport/exploration, buying this will make me less worry about pirates or any enemy.
I see it as a perfect match for a Orion and/or Hull D/E. If you run this as a escort not many people will really mess with you. And if you got the "illegal" route, run a full HULL C of contraband and have this thing defend you. Will probably make back the cost of running it easily!
+STLYoungblood It is listed on the website as viable for search and rescue, therefore giving the possibility of storing a cutlass red. Would this be worth the money for possibly a search and rescue craft or policing vehicle e.g. the cutlass saves the wounded people while the Polaris defends.
Great, was waiting on this. So I really liked this ship for its design and also for hangar( surely we can swap it for something else like Med-bay). I consider melting BMM, Orion and Coni for this ship. It's 100% clear that none of the listed ships could be dealt solo so why not have 1 instead of 3. Will always have my Gladius and mustang delta if I'm up to solo play.
I hope it doesn't or buying ships right now well really be over powered, but i think upgrades should be that kind of expense, to give non multi-crew ship owners a chance and more equal footing.
I agree, should really take some time. Don't see it as over powered as you can put in money at game launch to get it, or the hours playing. There are no ship or items that you can't get by putting in the hours. And the people that do pay up. Well, they just gave everyone else a game to play. I don't have the hours to put in, so a teenager with tons of hours will be overpowered to me. It's a balance and priority. But we have access to the same ships no matter what route you take.
Pundit KING why??? if it takes me that long to earn a ship in a game is loose interest. it's supposed to be fun not a second job or a second Life. someone with a job like mine if it really took a yeast to earn it would tale me 2 years. definitely no joy in playing the game at that point. to take a few months OK but a yeast is just silly.
+Broc Stefan (Kelley) Would be cool if that is true. My friends and i would be able to earn one in two days of we work together. If we get the Taurus it won't take long to get an Orion
I recall Chris saying that a connie would be about 3month of average gameplay to get. Seams more fun than a week. otherwise after 6 month no aurora, mustang, connie and the likes will be seen. Everyone will be flying idris, and have a javelin in the hangar waiting for when someone steps on your toes
my thought is this ship would be great for both pirating and for blockade running! the cargo space would be great for medical or maybe some munitions for a planet under siege by vandul or pirats. this ship is BOTH big enough, and fast enough to break threw that blockade and bring much needed supplies to a planets inhabitants. I have one, and because of its price, its my only ship right now. but this is the ship of my dreams so I'm happy about that.
With how many rooms/stations and the amount of torpedoes there are, I would not be surprised if this grows to 175-200m length 40m height and 90 beam. Hardly a stealth ship
+STLYoungblood I have been a huge fan of your channel for about a year and a half now. I went back to watch this video because I somehow missed it when looking to buy the Polaris Corvette. So I did buy the Polaris when it first became available with LTI, because I had been wanting this ship ever since it was announced it was being made. I wanted an Idris-M for the longest time, but did not want the crew size requirements. I have also been a member of the organization you are in for a very long time as well. This will help me be able to fill the larger ships crew requirements hopefully. Do you have any new opinions of this Polaris Corvette ship since you made this video? I have invested more money into Star Citizen's development than I would ever care to mention Ronny wife. Lol. Almost have spent "Space Marshall" pledge level at this point, but I am proud to donate to such an amazing game's development. It's clearly gone to something I believe in whole heartedly and plan to invest a lot of time in this game and feel it's no one else's business how I spend and donate my money. Thanks again and looking forward to hearing more from you!
Question: I have the large torpedo bomber the Retaliator and looking at the new Polaris should I melt the Retaliator and get the Polaris? Would appreciate your input.
Depends what you want to do in game. from what we know, the tali has smaller and less torpedo's, less turrets, no hangar and smaller crew, but it has better stealth capabilities, will be cheaper to run and is a smaller target, plus as it stand's it's a lot more modular, with the ability to swap out the torps with troop transport/cargo/living and possibly more. What do you envision doing in game?
When I look at this ship, I think of modern day uses of smaller warships like Frigates and Corvettes. Primarily operating as a patrol craft to fend off pirates, interdiction of pirates/smugglers, and escorting high valued assets, like large transports, convoys and even large ships like a Bengal which are too valuable to really be deployed without cover. Its why US carriers deploy with multiple ships. I envision major mining operations, where large volumes of resources are paying out well enough to cover not just the operational cost of the mining operation, but also justifying keeping this ship close by to deter pirates. (Think off shore oil platforms off the coast of Somalia) And I see this ship being perfect for maximizing profits, while hitting that point of just enough force to make pirates think twice. On the flip side of that, I see organizations fighting for rich newly discovered mining points and this ship along with say Vanguards conducting hit and run tactics on those larger mining fleets. Either forcing them to retreat, or destroying them entirely. I see refueling craft/ maintenance craft needing fighter support. And I think this ship is probably going to be more viable and more versatile. To me this ship SCREAMS workhorse of any military operation. And when I envision this ship in larger fleet tactics, I see this ship doing quick jabs, while the Idris preps to deliver a fatal right hook.
Personally, I think this thing is the tits. It might become mandatory equipment for every 'highly-leveled' player in the mature game. Fighters, as flown by skilled pilots, appear set up to determine the ultimate outcome of battles between similarly matched opponents - but, these assets are small, and fragile and their ability to project power is highly limited by logistical factors. These ships are going to be the semi-trailers that carry an elite pilot into battle, and provide him with fuel, repairs, and various force multipliers (vis heavy torpedo bombardment vs heavier ships, c&c, possible e-war capabilities) that endgame tier-1 tactics will likely presuppose.
Awesome video man!! Very informative! I actually didn't know some of the things you talked about and I looked into this ship quite a bit. I'm looking for a group/ORG around the Midwest area of the US... Iowa, South Dakota, or Minnesota to do BarCitizens with. I currently have a Carrack, Terrapin, Gladiator, Prospector, Buccaneer, M50, Mustang Omega, 2 Dragonfly Yellowjackets, and 1 Dragonfly Black. HMU if you are close to me
See the issue I am already noticing is that unless it is a killing ship, it will be highly ineffective. Whenever you have the gaming community control anything, it turns to crap. Happened to many games. What I am seeing is that people are already bored and there is zero penalty for actions against those trying to play. Starting areas see many new players unable to get 5 feet away for PO just to start so they quit. By the time persistence launches fully, we will see more people loaded with single top tier fighters with top weapons who understand the controls of a sim. It’s like WoW and people in open PvP are fully decked out day 1. With solid FPS many will join from that community simply to troll and kill.
So why not the Polaris?? Because some bored people with Javelins or Bombers will be bored and not allow it. Even Earth has a Geneva Convention for this stuff. Harassing trolls must be halted very soon. Not banned but if we are going “real” here, have cops spawn proper ships from quantum and capture your ship, your tossed in jail. Ship impounded. First offense 1 Hour Second 1 Day Third 1 Week Fourth 1 Month Fifth 1 Year Sixth 10 Years...perms ban basically. But not a ban, you can log in, read chat but unable to type, your toon is simply in a jail cell. You can option for a petition if your Org has not abolished you, to get you out free, they must put up the most expensive ship as collateral and risk losing it if you troll. Figure system out to keep it all balanced so not to be used itself against innocent players. Mods decide
No point it buying any of the ships they have for sale you can get them all in game so all you doing is throwing your real life money away and feel bad afterwards. Personally if i was going to throw real money at this game it would be to buy credits as they will be more effective in game and you will be able to buy stuff far cheaper once the market has settled down. Personally if this game is even playable before 2020 I'd be surprised.
If nobody bought the ships, the game wouldn't get made because that's how they are getting their development funding. So your cheap ass should thank those people you are calling stupid.
We don't know today what the ship cost is gonna end up being in game. We do know however that the ships we are pledging for is going for a discount, this has been officially stated since the start of the project. So buying UEC to by ships with is going to be more expensive, not cheaper.
AlexanderSuperTramp no they actually didn't! Kickstarter (they also sold ships there, just a bit cheaper iirc) pulled in just $2 million (www.kickstarter.com/projects/cig/star-citizen/description). The rest is ship sales!
I got all my ships with LTI - lifetime insurance As a video editor & leader of a dance group and a high end gamer for a team on Smite & WoW. I won't have months at a time to grind for a ship/ships. So securing my ships early, is what was needed. Also, since I have LTI on all my ships, I won't ever have to pay a single dime for ship insurance. Plus side, any pirate or anyone could steal, even crash and blow up my ships and I can just spawn them back, for free and back like new on my landing pad. I will also be able to keep all my ships forever, and I can always return back to the game years from now with all my ships still ready to use with free lifetime insurance. Last but least, without purchasing the ships. They would have no core crowd funding to keep making the dream game we all want and love. Thank you for your input though, Dave. < 333 - Axxo

That's why i like your videos, @STLYoungblood. You always are wise, and have a good discernment about what would be good or not about the ships.
I "want" it but then again, once i have it, i'll have buyers remorse
I bought one and that's exactly how I feel, but I am supporting the biggest game ever, so I don't regret it too much.
same here, but after seeing the v2 of procedual i feelt happy supporting the devlopment :D
so true so true, but u can sell it later right?
Same here
I sold mt tali and caterpillar but im super happy with it

STL, your 6th gun you can see it under the ship at 3:33 time. It's towards the back in a slot coming up the middle of the under belly.. just under something white in that slot.. I don't know what that is.

And if Idris is anything to go by, there would be a couple of people operating the torpedo room as well..... Though I haven't seen what's been advertised on the brochure yet - so yeah I'm probably wrong :P
Awesome video STL. I too picked one of these puppies up and am really excited to see its development going forwards.
MiniScout yes!!! My words!
As long as I can pull out the torpedo bays and replace those with med bays. Take out maybe a turret or two and replace them with sensor arrays. And then pull the fighter out and replace it with a landing craft for scientists. And then increase the cargo bay somehow. This will be a great exploration/science vessel.
I have the same idea. Hopefully we'll be able to.
I want to have a ship that can allow my friend to dock into, so far this seems like the only ship that gives that option, its versatility is also really interesting; but it does seem like something that is beyond what I really need.
buy a c2 instead then.
Can we play pool at the table in the mess hall?
I think that everyting past 7 crew men is pilots and marines
i doubt it. one needs at least a contingent of 14, IF the shifts are 12 hours on/off duty.
Could also relate to crew rotations. Remember we're working 24/7 cycles and CIG has emphasized numerous times crews will rotate.
The size ten pylon mounts are the torpedo room and both torpedo stockpiles.
One of the packs it comes in suggests that the vanguard will fit. Team this ship up with a vanguard and all the kits loaded on board you could have an extremely deadly combo
Will this thing be able to engage ships like the Javelin/Idris with fighter support? Or is it only for hit and run missions?
Q - Star Citizen: Should you buy the Polaris?
A - No
Major Tom
Dont be jelly :D
Since they're giving away the Polaris like candy have you got any more thoughts or opinions about it?
I see two side turrets, one dorsal rear, one ventral front and two dorsal amidships. There should be one more. I'm hoping ventral read since that is uncovered. any ideas? Have you seen anything about can ability mine-laying, or top speed?
you must have missed the sixth maned turret there are two on the front top one on each side of the ship and one on the front Belly
great video man. top bag I don't have the cash to get this right now guess I'll be earning this in game which according to one guy below who thinks it should take a year to earn.
The 6th turret is on the underside of the back.
there's one upper and one lower tail gun. so six is correct.
Fun fact this years IAE talked about it possibly being released in the next 12 months
Could you make an updated guide for the Polaris pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 🙂
I'm really looking for a ship around 100 meters, all around with a cargo area and a hangar for 4 medium ships and plenty of turrets. Don't need the missiles my organization should be concerned with how to handle enemies capital ships lol, and i'm in your organization stl!
I don't think a 100m long ship would be able to store 4 medium ships. You might have to wait until the idris or even the javelin is released for that.
That's just my 2 cents as a Polaris holder ^^,
hey love your vids and please keep up the good work :)
Anyway... want my polaris and carack coming as well as way easier to add hercules and mercury :)
I got one because the Polaris is the closest thing to the SSV Normandy. Now all I need are some Thanix cannons. :P
Great vid as always, much appreciated! =D
I know it’s not as good as a hull series for cargo. But. Couldn’t I use it for cargo? Would pirates try to mess with it? Is there a way of knowing how many people are on board when they scan me? I feel like it could be good with a few npc crew.
I wonder if I can swap out the torpedoes for front facing capital size guns but with shorter range.
ALSO STAR CITIZEN NORMANDY!
I think when they say 6 turrets theyre including the unmanned nose turret on the bottom.
Matt Whiteford 7 zurrets in total!
Will probably make back the cost of running it easily!
can't wait until we get more info.
there's two turrets at the back, top AND bottom.
+STLYoungblood It is listed on the website as viable for search and rescue, therefore giving the possibility of storing a cutlass red. Would this be worth the money for possibly a search and rescue craft or policing vehicle e.g. the cutlass saves the wounded people while the Polaris defends.
I mean... could you trade the hanger space for cargo space?
Yeah, I either want to use it to haul cargo or explore.
At least with a med bay there you'd have a quick way to eject the corpses ;D
ship have 8 turret 2 back 2 sides 2 top and 2 front(top/bottom)
i purchased a connie but i'm looking to get some solo ships, 1 for mining and 1 for solo bounties/piracy, any suggestions?
The Pictures make it look like the hangar could fit 3 or 4 Merlins.
what you think about putting a prospector in it?
I hope it takes like one person 2 years to buy it in game with in game UEE and 1year for a team at the price it's going for.
Everyone will be flying idris, and have a javelin in the hangar waiting for when someone steps on your toes
lolz. getting a Porsche add. kinda fitting for the polaris
my thought is this ship would be great for both pirating and for blockade running! the cargo space would be great for medical or maybe some munitions for a planet under siege by vandul or pirats. this ship is BOTH big enough, and fast enough to break threw that blockade and bring much needed supplies to a planets inhabitants. I have one, and because of its price, its my only ship right now. but this is the ship of my dreams so I'm happy about that.
With how many rooms/stations and the amount of torpedoes there are, I would not be surprised if this grows to 175-200m length 40m height and 90 beam. Hardly a stealth ship
the thing looks badass
it also looks like a idris and javelin destroyer
hey stl, do you think there will be more concept sale for high profile ships before the beta ?
6 years later and they didn’t even start working on it
The cargo is probably for Ammo and parts to fix a fighter
What would happen if I tried getting too many people on board
Thanks again and looking forward to hearing more from you!
hey does anyone think that you could fit a cutlass in there I hope so ;)
Hopefully blockades are a thing . I can see the Polaris being the main ship to hold them.
in 3 dimensions a blockade is going to be hard to set up.
agreed...unless they throw in something like interdictor fields etc.
Here's hoping they don't.. those bubbles made a mess of Eve.
What do you envision doing in game?
how many missiles?
Will there be any underground way to sell stolen ships? How about a black market?
And when I envision this ship in larger fleet tactics, I see this ship doing quick jabs, while the Idris preps to deliver a fatal right hook.
imma buy a lot of these once the ship is out
and start the first Planetary Invasion
I have to say, I'm attached to Corvettes. I want this ship.
How do you already have the Polaris in your fleet if it is still just a "Concept" ship?....This question being asked 3 yrs later still in Concept.
This would be a great Escort for an Endeavor Hope if you are going medical Like I would want to do. Be good for Pirates as well.
Good choice for a PMC.
I WANT it but i know i dont NEED it ... but it would be sooo cool
HMU if you are close to me
I really want a A Firefly class starship 😍
First offense 1 Hour
Second 1 Day
Third 1 Week
Fourth 1 Month
Fifth 1 Year
Sixth 10 Years...perms ban basically.
+gatorpika They made 100 million from Kickstarter, if no one ever bought a ship the game would still be produced.
I got all my ships with LTI - lifetime insurance
As a video editor & leader of a dance group and a high end gamer for a team on Smite & WoW.
