Yes! Both when the screen goes dark on “disappear” in the beginning, and on your video here, the 10:25 mark with the 3 tenors and EJ comes in on “broken on the ground” give me goosebumps every time. Great reaction again.
I’ve not seen the musical yet. My youngest saw it on Broadway on a school trip but she’s not told me the ending. Guess it’s time to see for myself. The music is beautiful.
For those of you watching and thinking “Wow. I actually just understood something new about the voice and singing. I think I could learn from Jennifer.” You are probably right. Why not try it and find out?
Ah you’re so sweet! Thank you Angie 🧡 wonderful arrangement! Yes, you must go!
The first vocalist is the group's founder and arranger, Jamey Ray.
Ah lovely!
As usual... LOVE IT! Thanks for the great reaction!
Hey! Loved your reaction,
There was, I think, about 200 of us in the video, and then about 1000 of us on the actual recording.
Definitely gonna subscribe 😄
Thank you for a great analysis of Voctave. I’ve listen to their music a couple of years now and I love it dearly but I found that you can always discover new things about the songs/composition by watching videos like yours. I especially like that you don’t talk over the song ALL the time or pausing in the middle of a sentence overly much like some others do, it drives me crazy!
I've not seen the play yet, but this song is a favorite! Thanks Jennifer! Another virtual choir vid that I strongly recommend is Peter Hollens' U2 cover of "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For".
Amazing vocals and production. I assume this was produced during COVID which makes the virtual choir even more meaningful. My favorite part was when the 3 guys hit that ridiculous chord.
This is such a beautiful song and video! I love the harmonies a lot!
So good!! 😁
Jamey Ray opens the song. He also does much of the arranging their music. They are absolutely amazing!!!!
Thanks Jenn for reacting to this heartwarming dynamic performance by Voctave and their virtual choir ensemble ! It was one of the most beautifully performed and visually stunning videos I have seen ! The absolutely wonderful harmonies resonated and resonated ,layer upon layer throughout this performance ! It was reviting and exciting to witness ! I'm so happy you really enjoyed Voctave at their very best ! So well produced and recorded it warmed my heart strings ! Thank you as always for your fantastic and expert breakdown and analysis ! I appreciated your input so much ! Hope you had a blast ! 👍🤗🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️❤️
So wonderful! Great arrangement and video! Thank you 😊😊
hello jennifer. really enjoy your reactions especially to a capella. i dont know if anyone ever recommended citizen queen to you. it is an all female a capella group that was formed by scott from pentatonix. they dont get enough attention imo. it is hard to make a capella work without male voices but they do it an i feel they deserve more recognition.
Ooh ok, thank you 😁
Love your reactions and you are adorable!! They had over 900 people from 55 different countries in their virtual choir. That in itself is an amazing undertaking to pull off! Check out their "Great Movie Medley" ...an ode to the great John Williams and many of his amazing movie theme songs. There is only one song where they sing lyrics. The rest, they are THE orchestra!!
@6:35 --> The cutest Jan's comment this year. Loving it! :D
😂😂
06:33 agree. great insight and analysis XD
Ah thank you!
HI Jen, I was one of your commenters that suggested Voctave before you did any reactions to them . I remember thinking "if Jen ever listens to this, she gonna fall over dead" lol I am teasing you. but it seemed to have a awful of things that you like. What might interest you is the first singer in this video is Jamie Rays, He is actually the big cheese here and does all the arrangements and put this whole group together. . To be honest, I am stunned by his creative ability to do these arrangements. From what I have read ( I am going to sound like one of your commenter trolls with this ) He is from Clearwater Florida and I believe went to school at Rollins College in Orlando, Florida. I live in Florida and I had never heard of Rollins college. Disney World ( very near Orlando) has a group that performs called the " Voices of Liberty" It appears the Jammie recruited many of these members , I am guessing that Voices of Liberty was put together by Disney World. I might be wrong . I did listen to your reaction video of "come All Ye Faithfull' . I had not heard that one and you were right, it is insane, Scott of Pentatinox ( who is really the prodigy of Pentatonix and responsible for most the arranging) and Jamie Rays are just gifted people and I am in awe to be honest. Thanks Jen We love you. With love from Florida
Love this, thank you!!! And loved this arrangement 😊
Hi Jen :)
Lovely video, and I agree with you, I always get chills from this song AND this group.
I know you like Voiceplay and you like EJ, why not react to the one they've done together?
"Go the Distance" from Hercules
Yes, it is as lovely as you think :)
Keep up the good work, love from Norway
😱😱amazing thank you!
I have the hugest crush on this woman!❤️❤️😍😍😍
I only heard about Octave lady year. Although I don't follow them, I watch reactions to them. Thanks for sharing this! I discover new things when I watch your reactions. I watched your reaction to Dimash when he sang " Ave Maria " When you sais he only used the "ah" vowel the entire song I thought " Wow! He just had a serious vowel movement!"
A beautiful version of this beautiful song. Unfortunatly I have not seen Dear Evan Hansen because it is not performed here. But we song this song with the musical theater choir I am part of. Thanks for your analysis.
Oh lovely! Thanks 😊
Talk English much? Yes Jen, "above and beyond" is what you were looking for. It's okay. You know I love you for your expressive face and hand gestures. It's lovely to see someone who can't contain themselves. Your passion is why we keep coming back. And Voctave ain't half either.
😂😂 that is what I was looking for! Thank you!!! 😁
youve got to check out one voice childrens choirs cover of this song!!! (if you havent)
I worked in New York City for over twenty years. When Dear Evan Hansen opened, it was all anyone was talking about.I saw it with Ben Platt in the lead role. It was amazing.
React to The Wellermen, Misty Mountains. PURE BASS MADNESS AND Perfection
Or Geoff castalluchi
I second this motion. You might as well do it now that it's just out of the oven and still hot.
I was baffle by awe
Hi Jen ! If you like this video, you should check 4 Evans sing " For forever" You'll enjoy it for sure.
Could you please react to their version of impossible dream?
You must react to Voctave ' Great movies medley'.
Love it when a song is so good you can't even English, lol. This one's really beautiful
Yup!😂
I think the template was same as Ms Morissette Amon singing "Rise up" together with respective a capella year 2020 month of June. Please check it out too. Thanks
Jennifer, the song was all new to me. I'm not familiar with Dear Evan Hansen so now I guess I should get familiar. Awesome reaction as usual. Hmm, hasn't it been a few weeks now since you last sang for us? 😁
React to voiceplay halo cover, or the dragonborn comes, you will love it
Please do one for Tom Hollens featuring Home Free... Amazing Grace!
It's Beyond Awesome! You'll agree... trust me!
React LOVEBITES Holy War 2021 LIVE in Tokyo with lyrics or 【LIVE】NEMOPHILA / DISSENSION (NAONのYAON2021) - Japanese female rock bands
You should check out “4Evans sing For Forever”. It’s awesome
#subscriptionsquad. Did you ever react to Voiceplay “If I was rich girl”?
Nope! Should I go back?
It’s the first time Ashley Diane sang with them
Hi would u react to reza sing song tik tok part 8.. thats song is duet and versus together, thx 😁
Listen to the whole song, then cut it apart
Hey Jennifer check out Angelina Jordan new original video. I think will like.
This is the first REAL exposure to Voctive. The fact that YOU are the one reacting, drew me in. I listened to one performance by the group. It was a live studio performance that was HEAVILY auto-tuned. That turned me off. But thanks to your superb break down I have a new appreciation for them. Jennifer, you are the BEST.
Ah thanks so much 😊😊
I spotted a Fil fans...🙄
It was not heavily auto tuned. That guy made that video.... and it was a disaster.
There are plenty of spots in the Disney Princess Medley where there are slight tuning problems in the chords.
And then the hour of power video he watched was the worst live performance of Voctave on the internet. 1 take, bad mics, didn't get to warm out, etc.
Search 'kvon Voctave sings at cafe' to hear them live. Recorded on a phone, sung spontaneously, no production.
I understand that Fil showed the tuning on a graph and then played a voice pad next to it. The voice pad *also* wobbles the pitch, and Voctave is perfectly capable of singing that close to pitch given as many takes as they want and a professional studio setup.
I mean, for Pete's sake, they met at Epcot singing a capella off mic. Jamey Ray has done several interviews, and in several of them he stresses that they do NOT use tuning.
On their recent 'deluxe' Christmas album, they did use some tune matching and it's a huge difference from the sound of their other albums. Check it out. Compare the tone on Disney Princess medley to the tone on any track on the deluxe Christmas album.
Also: the Disney Princess medley was not a live studio performance. Voctave doesn't have a huge budget for videos, and so many of their early videos are just them singing along to the recording in-studio.
@@charliecampbell6851 Thanks for the clarification!
i think V is great but they tend to be over produced.....
The first singer is Jamie Ray, the group's founder . He does all the arrangements.
