This was honestly so moving and I loved every moment of it!! AND you can now pre-save my newest song coming out 22nd September, Voice of My Own - distrokid.com/hyperfollow/jenniferglatzhofer/voice-of-my-own thank you! X
I have probably watched every Voctave video multiple, multiple times. Your breakdown and analysis of this, and others of theirs, shows me that I often don’t hear everything going on with background vocals. When you described Carl’s voice as a cello. I mean, without even thinking of it, like that popped into your head. I said, “oh snap! That’s exactly what he sounds like” great job.
Is it even a Voctave reaction without chills, tears, and headshakes? Nope! They hit us all hard in the best way. What a treat to have two videos from them in the last couple of months! I hope they are able to find the time to film more. They filmed this at Pattycake, so maybe that connection to a nearby space will get them in more for shooting. I sure hope so!
Absolutely PERFECT!!!! I had watched a reaction to it this morning and it was so so, but I thought "oh, I cannot wait to hear Jen." I teared up a couple of times. They did a superb and stunning performance. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings as well as your knowledge. Loved it and love you girl. Keep up the great work.
Kate Lott has the most incredible voice that I've ever heard. I'd love to meet her in person but if I did I'd be a complete mess as her voice always brings me to tears. In a good way of course. :)
They are so great. So stunning and Kate, wow, every time catching me off guard. Love them! A favorite of mine is Mary did you know with the writer of the song Mark Lowry. You may have seen that one but ( my favorite). Low bass Kenneth
PLEASE do! Voctave is stunning with Mark! I cry every time I listen to it. I am sure your analysis of it will make me cry as well! (Just like this one did ... I was crying right along with you, Jen!)
I love your reactions, Jen! Completely professional, yet full of heart, humor and emotion. And all of it in a beautiful british accent.😄 Thank you so much for this!❤
So glad you’re back up and running. I’ve been waiting for your reaction and you didn’t disappoint. Love the breakdown of each individual voice. Great job as usual!
Oh man! I'm blown away everytime I hear Voctave and I'm not ashamed to say this is the first time they've made me cry.. that ending, woah... I'm glad you've survived the hackening and hope all has settled down for you now Jen. Thank you for all you do ❤
There's something so mesmerizing and beautiful about their voices! Kate's my very favorite! When you put them all together the harmonies are just out of this world! I love your reactions! Thanks, Jen! 💖
Let's throw some love to that great bass pedal tone in that last chord - i think it's Carl? Having that beautiful sustained low to shine against is a good part of what makes Kate's highs so shimmery.
Great reaction and analysisJen! Would have even loved you going back and listening to it all again without stopping just so we could see you now just listen in awe. ❤ I love the other a cappella groups but nobody has the combined vocal mastery of Voctave!! Simply stunning every time.
So who wouldn't want to jump through the screen and give you a hug when Kate yanked those tears out of your pretty face! What a WONDERFUL reaction and analysis. I learn so much from you. Thanks Jennifer!
Jen, I love your analysis, because i always learn a little something each time. If they were to give out a UA-cam award for the most adorable analyst,it would be you hands down. And the fact that you can giggle at yourself, even while whacking yourself in the face, always brings a smile to my heart. THANK YOU!❤😂
I just love your reactions, Jen. Everything you react to--when I've listened to it before, I sit in anticipation thinking, "Wait until Jen sees....." When I haven't listened to it before, it's because you're reacting to things I haven't loved yet. I learn so much from you about vocal technique, and the things you pick out and talk about. I'll go back and listen to this one again (like a do all your reactions) and have a deeper appreciation and I get so much from a shared experience with you.
Voctave is unique in that each part is arranged with the singer specifically in mind. Jamey has said as much. I got the pleasure of hearing them sing this live in the second row center of our local theatre in May. I pretty much bawled the whole concert, especially when Ashley was singing. She is my favorite singer in the world.
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love! There, I left a lot of love in the comments. Jen says to do something and I obey. Up to a point anyway.
I always enjoy hearing your critique of groups, but particularly enjoy watching reactions on Voctave. I can't get enough of Voctave reactions and encourage you to watch Mary Did You Know, O Holy Night, O Come All Ye Faithful, Disney Love Medley, Disney Princess Medley, Great Movie Medley and every other song they do. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Sorry you were hacked Jen and I’m glad it’s all restored. I find your comments helpful and come to appreciate vocals in a deeper way due to your insights. And yes, Voctave is ridiculously good.
That's what I just did...too much pausing...7 minutes and we're not past the first verse...I went to hear the official video without all the starting and stopping...
I would say that compared to other acappella groups, Voctave has the strongest bench in terms of each individual singer in the group and what they can do when they lead lines. Such depth and excellence and the vocal and stylistic range is something else. And the choral/classical/musical theatre aspect that they all have to different degrees allows them to blend so well together - it's the glue that allows them to do these lush arrangements that not every group can do. They are like the Acappella Avengers!
Jennifer! Wow so this was recorded during "the incident". Thank goodness we're past all that mess now and you didn't lose any of your videos! And no problem on lots of love 🤗❤ So Voctave ... ohhh ... West Side Story! No wonder this is a 30 minute video. 😁 I know the song but I can't say I've ever seen West Side Story. I did Google it and we're not talking about London's West Side. 😂 Well no tissue today and you really needed it for Kate! And WHAT an ending! Beautiful! Great reaction and analysis as always Jen. 😊
West Side Story is one of my favorite musicals. I haven't seen the later version, but watched the original many times. "Somewhere" is among the most beautiful songs ever written for the stage, and Voctave is doing it justice (no surprise there). The arrangement makes it all new again.
I absolutely love Voctave! Such rich vocals. I love watching your analysis videos and breaking down the songs to show how you fully appreciate music. Thank you ❤️🎶. I know you are probably really busy but can you do a reaction video to Voctave singing Mary Did You Know feat. Mark Lowry? It is absolutely stunning.
In the original film version, the wonderful soprano, Marni Nixon, is singing for Natalie Wood on all of Natalie’s vocals, including “Somewhere”, of course. What most people don’t know is Marni also dubbed Natalie’s line “Don’t you touch him!” as she covers Richard Beymer. Natalie herself said she was just too exhausted at that point and after several attempts Marni was called in to dub the line. Marni’s range was phenomenal and the tone she had was always great. It’s sad that most people today do not even know or remember her, yet she was part of cinematic history as she dubbed for many female film actresses.
Wonderful reaction. I enjoyed seeing you tear up in the same places I did. Fantastic arrangement expertly performed. I'm glad you were able to get your UA-cam corrected so we could see your analysis. I would like to see you do an analysis of my other favorite choir, Voces8. They are definitely more on the classical side, as opposed to Voctave's musical theatre/commercial style. Keeping with West Side Story, they have a great version of "Maria". Or, going Sondheim, "Send in the Clowns" is phenomenal. It is interesting comparing the 2 styles. I've witnessed Voces 8 about 5 times in concert, and they always leave me between tears and a puddle on the floor.
Sorry to hear you were hacked. I had a business that was finally closed after a number of times its Internet presence was hacked by people wanting to sell counterfeit goods. So I'm glad I can still come to hear your take on music I enjoy.
I'm SO sorry to hear that you are having such trouble! Hugs sent!! 🤗 I think Pentatonix, Home Free, and VoicePlay are the most 'popular and well-known' a cappella artists out there. I love them all! BUT... Voctave is, in MY opinion, the most amazing vocal choir/group to grace Planet Earth. I'm SO glad you've done some Voctave again. This group makes me tear up more than any other musical presence. The harmonies actually TUG at me. If pressed for SOMETHING critical, I wasn't a fan of the lighting in this. Right now, this is my favorite from Voctave. That's really saying something! Great breakdown, Jennifer!!
First off...glad everything is back to normal with the channel. 🥳 Second off...loved the reaction/analysis. Such a great song and an amazing interpretation from Voctave who are more talented than laws should allow. Third off...you have the absolute best double entendre and I don't know how intentional it is, but it's comedy gold. "If you find that I am talking too much, feel free to ***ck off". Of course it is click, but LOVE LOVE LOVE that. Haha. Looking forward to your next single as I loved "I'm Not a Fan".
great job as always!!!!!!! im really glad you got the Utube problem striated out. Being retired I can afford to be on Patron,I wished i could but i cant . sorry
wow so many ppl in this group im amazed they gave almost all a spot to shine. i bet if you split the group you have 2 amazing groups. ofc dont split them but i would love a collab with homefree . Cause the tones in their voice are not in this group. they have really special tones in their voices. especially tim and austin they would add so much in the collab
Austin sang in the Voices of Liberty in the American Adventure pavilion in EPCOT where most of these singers have sung. Sitting on the floor of the lobby listening to them sing a cappella American patriotic and folk songs. The room is perfect for their voices to ring and bounce around. So beautiful !
They have different qualities to their voices. I like your recognition of the background singers. The just released Nutcracker Medley. Would like your take on it.
I absolutely adore this arrangement. Jamey outdid himself on this one... such furry, crunchy chords! Bernstein sure could write 'em, huh? And of course any time it's Voctave, it's sure to be sung flawlessly. This one was no exception. I especially loved that they finally gave Kate room to stretch her legs a little; she's obviously one heck of a descant soprano, but she's absolutely a soloist in her own right. Can't decide which song I liked her better in: this one, or "Someday My Prince Will Come" from the Princess medley. I'd loveloveLOVE to see you react to the original Broadway cast of "Sunday In The Park With George perform the Act I finale "Sunday" from the video with Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters. I've always been fascinated by Mandy's timbre, and would love to hear your thoughts.
It looked to me like Voctave is supporting Ukraine in their color scheme. They were marvelous in this cover, as always. I wonder if Kate can shatter glass with her voice?? Super reaction as always, Jen. Thank you!
Hey Jennifer, great reaction/analysis of another Voctave video - they're like medicine for the soul! Please react/analyse their cover of O holy night. It never fails to stun me into silence and I think you'll get so much from Jameys' arrangement of it. Thanks 😊
Embarrassingly I knew this song but didn't know it was from West Side Story. My first introduction to this song was when I heard Barbara Streisand sing it, and from that point on a thought it was her song.
Jen!! If you're in the mood to hear something different, please react to 'Mysterious Eyes' by Garnet Crow. Their lead singer has one of the lowest voices I've ever heard from a female singer. She uses her surprisingly low voice to amazing effect. Garnet Crow mostly does intro and outro music for anime and have some really awesome songs. I recommend using a version of the song with subtitles. I believe they have a subtitled live performance of the song.
I’m so sorry about your UA-cam problems. Some other Reactors had the same problem when their reactions became too long. It appears that even though they still loved them and enjoyed them very much, it was becoming more and more difficult to devote the better part of an hour to a 3 minute song. ❤u still!
please see Unis' cover of way 4 luv, dream of girls and shiny night. i would like yo hear your thoughts about the girls. Elisia also did a rendition of Eyes nose lips. thanl you
Love Jen. I was one of the people your hackers tried to spoof, but I quickly saw they were obviously not you. You certainly do seem to like hearing your own voice more than you do hearing the videos voice. How about if you just play the whole thing through once and then you can go back and dice it apart if you choose..
Analysis is fine, but only playing 5-10 seconds of the music before pausing and talking? Yes - I do find you are talking too much, so I'm taking your advice and clicking off.

I thought that wall looked familiar! Heh. I think it's background in a couple of Geoff's videos.
@@daventunes3822 Yup! Definitely the same distressed wall in White Christmas and Shenandoah. I can't think if VoicePlay has used that wall, hmm.
Absolutely PERFECT!!!! I had watched a reaction to it this morning and it was so so, but I thought "oh, I cannot wait to hear Jen." I teared up a couple of times. So glad you’re back up and running. I’ve been waiting for your reaction and you didn’t disappoint. Love the breakdown of each individual voice. Great job as usual!
Voctave was my original acapella group. I have since become a massive VoicePlay fanboy, but Voctave will always have a huge place in my heart.
You never disappoint. Great reaction/analysis again. I always learn something new from you with each new video. Absolutely loved it!
Huge hugs Jen, glad you got it all sorted 😊
Oh man! I'm blown away everytime I hear Voctave and I'm not ashamed to say this is the first time they've made me cry.. that ending, woah...

You're a delight! Impressive analysis. You got a new fan. 😊
Wonderful from them, and loved the play by play! Thanks Jen❤
You can't have a Voctave reaction with out tears, goosebumps, and awe. Love that you are back with your lovely, fun, and informative analysis Jen.
There's something so mesmerizing and beautiful about their voices! Kate's my very favorite! When you put them all together the harmonies are just out of this world!

This is one of my favorite songs of West Side Story. And for Voctave to bring their gorgeousness to it, Stunning!

Loved your reaction to this. I hope to see them again in November. I think it is their Christmas show. I saw them last November and they are awesome.
Oh nice!!! Sure that’ll be super fun!

Really glad you are back.
Glad your back and you!!!
Stunning performance! That ensemble is so good!
Glad I’m seeing more reactors to Voctave lately. They are great. Good reaction!
I was not expecting every member of Voctave to step on my neck all 22 pairs right on my neck! And I love it phenomenal!
so beautiful...thanks Jen !!

21:18 - Somehow that "Kate....." just said it all.

Here for Jenn being gorgeous as always.
Could you react to Voctaves manger medley ?!
Great song to pick on a very bad day. :)

Please react/analyse their cover of O holy night. It never fails to stun me into silence and I think you'll get so much from Jameys' arrangement of it.
Thanks 😊
You might like taking a listen to Lucy Thomas' cover of the song as well...fantastic voice!
Embarrassingly I knew this song but didn't know it was from West Side Story. My first introduction to this song was when I heard Barbara Streisand sing it, and from that point on a thought it was her song.
❤
Voctave is for me the best male and female acapella group of the world. E.J. is fantastic. He sounds like David Phelps.
“Mom! Kate’s in the rafters, again!”
Please react on voctave beauty and the beast thank you your such an amazing vacal teacher
Jen!! If you're in the mood to hear something different, please react to 'Mysterious Eyes' by Garnet Crow. Their lead singer has one of the lowest voices I've ever heard from a female singer. You are so adorable
Hello E.J,
Kate makes me cry too, but no one can see us, because this was never recorded, because you were hacked. Right? RIGHT?
Anyone else noticed their attire is in the colours of the Ukraine flag?
Voctave has a way of showing support and speaking on social issues, without throwing it into your face. I noticed the colors and wondered that myself.
Love Jen. I was one of the people your hackers tried to spoof, but I quickly saw they were obviously not you. They couldn't spell to start with, obviously didn't speak English and were not as smart as you. Glad your all sorted and looking forward to more reactions. Here is an unusual one for you. Lulu has been a recording artist since 1964 and has been performing for decades.

Totally agree... That's what I just did...
More than usual interruption... Normally enjoy your commentary... But totally destroyed the continuity on this one... Sorry
