@@JenniferGlatzhoferthat last note she reaches you almost don't hear it as much as sense it until the voices drop away at the end and you can hear like an echo of it. It is an absolutely delicious note. I'm partial to voices like Kate's because it reminds me of my mom's voice. My mom was a 5'1" self-deprecating dynamo. She was classically trained out of the Seattle -Tacoma area. She grew up dirt poor but with an amazing set of skills. She was a gifted piano player as well and could walk in cold and sight read a whole program. What did she do with these gifts? She was a school secretary. She could be doing several things at once. She could type almost 150 a minute, answer the phone and be talking an irate parent off the ledge all at the same time. Me, I got nothing from her genetically that's for sure. I was so bad at piano that I drove my 83 year old teacher into retirement. Oops! Sorry my ADHD got the better of me,.. SQUIRREL!!!!!
What I love most about this arrangement is how the end “happens”, like a conductor bringing their orchestra to an close and all the instruments, voices in this case, close at the exact time.
HI Jen! This is one of my very favorite Voctave perfrmances (they are sooo good). Love all these songs. Kirstin and Jeremy "were a thing" during this performance (they've since both moved on), and you can see, hear, and feel their connection. At times, you can catch glimpses of Jeremy's personal reaction to the incredible BVs too. How amazing it would be to experience that live! You're reaction to this was as emotionally lovely as technically brilliant. I love hearing you talk about what you hear/see. It helps me learn and re-experience the music in a new way - every time! Thank you so much. Hugs!! xo
I love how Kirsten's voice complimented the other sopranos. Jeremy did a really goid job too, and he really noticed when Kate hit one of her incredible high, high notes. Thank you for reacting to this. Lovely job 💖
I'm so glad you went back and did this one (how did I miss it!). This medley cover is impressive and was my first introduction to the Voctave rabbit hole several years ago. THAT soprano, Kate Lott, has also been mind-altering for me, a non-soprano, and probably one of my favorite performances is her final note on their cover of "Mary, Did You Know?" with the writer/composer Mark Lowry. Not only is the note stunning, Kate exercises the most vocal control I think I've ever heard. Give it a listen some time. Thanks, as always, for another phenomenal reaction.
You made my day reacting to this medley! Great reaction Jen, as usual. I really enjoy seeing your emotive reactions as you progress through the songs you analyze. you are always entertaining and informative. And, as always, I'll be looking forward to your next reaction. A superb channel. One of the best on YT imo.
Great review! I am also in awe of Kate the soprano. I have seen her perform up close in person at Disney World along with most of the other Voctave singers, and they are all such beautiful and talented performers. I also recommend their "Poor Unfortunate Souls" medley with Rachel Potter!
Everybody in Voctave has beautiful voices, and they blend together to produce enchanting harmonies! 🤯🔥. But I would be lying if I don't say that Kate is my very favorite! 💖
It's so good to have you back, Jennifer! This is my first time hearing the Disney Love Medley as well. Voctave never disappoints. Great reaction and analysis. I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I've heard a couple remarkable vocal performances lately. The first is Shoshana Bean singing Make It Rain at The Theatre At Ace Hotel; a bluesy, emotional take. The second is a classic that I'm late in hearing: Nina Simone singing Feeling Good; it gave me chills from the first line as her voice tells a more complex tale than the one we usually hear in that song.
I downloaded this performance a couple of years ago for my granddaughter and fell in love with it. Kristin has a very great voice and I was glad to see her in the Pentatonics group.
Love your reaction - and I have watched about 100 of them....LOL. It is easy to love Kirstin and Kate (soprano) but you caught that deep rich, warm base. It is the guy in purple and adds SO much!
Jen, I'll still remind d you of a talented young lady from GB. Lucy Thomas. YOU HAVE to look into her. She has 4 CDs out believe. Young, beautiful and asmych talent as any and more than most❤❤. Please please please give her a listen!!!
Not sure if you're going to see this comment given the age of this video, but I wanted to say this. I have watched a TON of reaction videos to the Disney Love Medley, and you were the ONLY one that pointed out the beautiful bass note at the end of "warm and real and bright". THANK YOU! And yeah - that super ultra queen soprano was truly something else. This group, as a whole, created a cohesive sound that I would have never thought possible from human vocalists, especially with such a small number of vocalists.
Great work. The single most amazing thing here is that you pause in musically coherent places!!! I can’t stress that enough! Haha. I’m not sure if you have already planned for it… but this time of year (30 Nov…) is a great time to look at Voctave’s arrangement of “O Come All Ye Faithful”. Just incredible, and really shows the power of their tenor EJ Cardona.
As always, I enjoyed this very much. I don't know how old Kisten is but she looks as though she's in her early teens here. She also looks as though she would fir in my pocket. Some people have a great range in different areas such as knowledge, music, vocals, etc. but no one has a greater range of facial expressions than you! I would watch your videos just for that. Blessings and have a wonderful day!
Great reaction to a fabulous video. I first "met" Voctave 5 or six years ago with their "Fly" medley. One of their earliest releases. You could see their greatness even then. Would love your reaction to it. Some of the singers have changed, but the sound endures.
I’m sure I’ve seen this before, but UA-cam seemed to think I needed to watch it this evening. 😊 Disney + Voctave is always a perfect combination and this one is no exception. I’ve mentioned before the joy you share when it comes to music. This reaction is a perfect example. ❤ I think UA-cam was right, I did need to watch this tonight. 😁
Your reactions are just so pleasant to watch. It's always such a delight to experience someone, who's so passionate about music react to such wonderful work. So here's why I BEG you to watch/react to the following songs of Voctave (simply because they are masterpieces): -O Come All Ye Faithful (your jaw will be on the floor) -Joy To The World/For Unto Us A Child Is Born (simply glorious) -Mary Did You Know (feat. the songwriter of Mary Did You Know, it's breathtaking) if you find the time to do reactions to those - now that Christmas is around the corner it would be fitting - it would be GREATLY appreciated.
Kirsten commented that at the time she was having some trouble with constriction of her voice through her jaw! You'll see the way she'll try to belt through her top register and her jaw is really tight. She worked on it REEEEALLY hard and you'll see in their recent songs that she's really open and clear :)))))
I really enjoyed your reaction to this medley and your earlier reaction to their Disney Princess Medley... both heartfelt and informative. Voctave is the closest thing in a cappella to a vocal orchestra, insofar as they cover the entire vocal spectrum with 7, 8, and 9-part harmonies. If you'd like to hear several of the men featured, give a listen to Voctave's Disney Showstoppers medley. And now that we are approaching the Holidays, you should listen to (in no particular order) O Come All Ye Faithful, Mary, Did You Know (featuring Mark Lowry, the song's original lyricist), O Come O Come Emanuel/The First Noel/I Wonder as I Wander, Jingle Bells, and The Man with the Bag. And those are only a few of their seasonal offerings. I look forward to many more of your reactions!
Voctave is on a DIFFERENT level. There are NO groups remotely close to them. I wish they would have Kirsten back again. Yes, she is a member of Pentatonix, but this song was made for her and Jeremy. 😊😊
Hi, Jennifer. I recommend you to listen to the Colombian girl band Ventino! They are really amazing. Some of their songs that I recommend are "Esta vez" "Me equivoqué" "Y No" and "Volverte a oír"
Home Free has put out a song that you will find very interesting. It's called "Brothers In Arms". No beat boxing in this one, just cool five part harmonies,
HI Jennifer, I was one of your subs pestering you to listen to this clip. lol I didn't know if you would get to it or not, but I was certain you would like it. It's pretty crazy. This level of artistry with this is something I don't run into everyday. Jamie Rays really has a feel for these kind of arrangements. To have the ability to do this kind of arrangement is simply put, amazing. It is just stunning . I have another dumb question ? If Voctave contacted you and ask to hire you to sit in for a month while one of their members took a leave of absence, would they have to twist your arm to get you to fly to Orlando for a month ? I can say I would give up my left arm to sing one of those tenor parts. lol Thanks Jen, We love you.
The hands down best Disney song cover I have heard is Simone Simons "Part of your world" ua-cam.com/video/aau6nI04G9k/v-deo.html She is one of the Dutch metal queens, lead singer of Epica. And one of Floor Jansen's and Arjen best collaborators.
The transition into "You'll Be In My Heart" with Kate's high note gets me every time. I'm emotional like that...
Ah it’s so good!!!

The dissonance with the chords creates SO MUCH tension, which finally resolves at the end. Perfection 👌 👍 🎶

I like to reverently call her Kate the Kite as she lives up there.
Love love LOVE your reactions and analysis! Both technical AND emotional... Which really is the beauty of music, isn't it? Technical skill + emotions!
Really nice reaction and analysis. YOu clearly know what you are talking about. Love this medley.. Full of Disney magic
YOU REALLY NEED TO LISTEN AND REACT TO MORE VOCTAVE! THEY ARE SOOO GOOD

This was released in early 2016, so she would have been 23 when it was recorded. Still looks like a baby to an old fart like me.

Jamey Ray is just a genius at arranging vocals.
Loved this!
Kate Lott, the descant soprano, is a phenomenon. A lot of the magic in Voctave is courtesy of Jamie Ray, who does their arrangements. Guy's a genius.

Voctave is top notch, all the members are super experienced 👍🏾
I recommend Mary did you know from voctave, the original singer joins them. It’s lovely
Hi, Jennifer. I recommend you to listen to the Colombian girl band Ventino! They are really amazing.

The big grins from Kirsti and Jeremy mostly had to do with the fact that they were engaged at the time. The twitterpation was real.
So who is the person who arranged the background vocals. Just freaking amazing. So many up and downs and shifts. Really crazy!
😁 Great reaction.
Thank you!
Have you ever heard / reacted to Voctave’s Carol of the Bells / Bells of Notre Dam medley? I think it’s one of their best.
💘
I could watch you forever. I love the way you crinkle your nose.
