Absolutely loved this episode! Shatner is such a great guest to have! Just like a big child in a candy store with an unlimited appetite for all the yummy stuff he calls knowledge. And the no B.S. and don’t care to argue and offend personality also make him so so lovable. Beautiful dialogue! Thank you Capt. Kirk and Dr. Krauss!
This episode is a full proof and a testament to how much you love and care about Bill. I know no one who would have kept composure in front of the barrage of interruptions BUT that's the genius behind Bill's approach: it really pushed you to go to the nitty gritty. The breakdown answers show how passionate you are about demystifying the difficulty to average people standing in their way to fathom more about our universe, all of that got rewarded with Bill's genuine awe. A fascinating episode from two guys I really think made and still make the world a better place
I’m only 23 minutes into this, and I’ve been more entertained than I’ve been all week. And I’ve learned some things I didn’t even know that I didn’t know. WONDERFUL !
It's absolutely astounding that Bill Shatner is ninety-two years old. I almost can't wrap my head around it. He hasn't changed all that much since Star Trek 6!

What a blast watching these two friends banter back and forth. It reminds me of what I was like when I was 14 and full of endless questions. And ideas. Thanks for a wonderful time.
I thank the Universe for delivering to us you two wonderful beings. How ever it happened, I'm glad it did. Thank you both. Two of my favorite people, one conversation, equals pure delight. And of course, you left me wanting more.
That was a fantastic 1 hour and half, really great talk all the way through, how lucky we are to hear these two bouncing off each other, Excellent thanks Lawrence and Bill
F**K this Captain Turd Shat'ner. Captain Kirk is back! Out to save the planet or as he claims “at least half of it…”. Which half (and for who) we may never know. His words today are as fake, as they were back in the 70s and 80s. In hindsight Star Trek was a super hit and a super scam! Roll back 2007, Shatner's disembodied head floating in space - the voice in a portentous tag line: "And so we take a cosmic ride into that new millennium; that far off reality that is the year 3000. It's the future of man....." Albeit that future will never come to be, just like the grandiose Sci-Fi fantasies of the 50s and 60s never manifested in reality. No flying cars, no “beam me up Scotty” and not even one alien out there! So much for the silly trekies and all the “cosmic rides” of woke futurist fantasy. Star Trek at it’s foundation is an extension of American colonialism, white patriarchy, made of conservative values and racist undertones. The spectacle was invented in America, however enabled by the post A-bomb surge of science fiction. The USS Enterprise is by all means an extension of American militarism. While Star Trek peaked inside American homes, the empire in reality was dropping bombs over Vietnam, Korea, Laos etc etc killing thousands of innocent people. Plain Pathetic Lawrence Krauss and this Canadian turd Shatner 😅😅😅😅
It was such a wonderful and exhilarating experience for me to listen to the two gentlemen having a blast interacting with each other. I couldn't contain my laughter at times when Shatner was interrupting and challenging Lawrence with his innocent curiosities. Age is just a number after all. "Live long and prosper, Captain Kirk." I hope to see the two of them in conversation again soon. Thank you for making this available.
Always loved Bills quest for knowledge. He has great questions and hasn't lost a step in that regard. Wish he would do more narrations I still love the Seasons IMAX movie he did and it was inspiring. Great show! :)

He's such a young man. Having been fortunate enough to spend time with people who've reached his age and beyond, I notice a pattern: all of them, without exception, were young, their minds like sponges, ready to absorb any new knowledge that might come their way, still as inquisitive about the world around them as they had been as children. None of them 'thought old'. I can learn a lot from your 40 years' more experience on this planet than I've had so far, and your expertise too - but there is something humbling in the fact that this man has probably been asking 'why?' and 'what's that?' and 'why does that happen?' for the last 90 years, but he clearly feels he's barely touched the surface in his search for knowledge. There is so much that we don't know...one thing I do know is that I've only been listening for 26 minutes, but already it's been a pleasure. Thank you both for sharing this with us all. 😀
Dear Lawrence Krauss, Thank you for inviting Mr. Shatner onto your Podcast. I like you view Mr. Shatner as a Father / Uncle Figure in my life. I have seen Mr. Shatner in person several times during my life. The Characters he has portrayed throughout his career from Captain Kirk to Denny Crane have inspired and entertained me and my family. The Big Bang which created the Universe we live in must have been generated by some greater external force, i.e. GOD. I wish you and especially Mr. Shatner many more years of good health and happiness! Best Regards.
It’s hard to believe that Shatner turned 92 on March 22nd. Born in 1931. It’s very surprising how much energy this man still has. I chuckled through this whole show, Shatner is so funny. Prince Edward Island? Holy crap? I live in PEI!! I’m shocked that Lawrence Krause lives here. Well…isn’t that interesting. Wow.
well i'm only 69 and i find that making movie connections (what was her name in that film with that bloke directed by that guy shot in what country on which film stock??) is good test for senility. i put it all down to taking an interest in life, not assuming it'll all be soon over so why bother. i'm still getting acclimated to being 17 in fact.

BS was supposesly extremely disrespectful and unkind to Will Wheton on set. Will idolized Bill and Bill treated him like a worthless criminal. See the video by Will online. I wish BS would apologize to the people he mistreated in his past.
In 1996 a little pocketbook called The science of Star Trek (i have it in Dutch so the title could be slightly off) pulled me into this wonderful scientific adventure, this talk feels like its all coming together again :) Really enjoyed it, lots of curiousity and positive energy!
Mr. Shatner votre français est merveilleux... and you have beautiful souvenirs... I also lived on Marcil, beautiful part of town... This podcast is great, bravo
It's so nice to hear this wonderful actor and a legendary star of the Star Trek franchise talking about my home country - Lithuania which he also has roots in. I remember his visit to Lithuania and was proud to discover that Mr. Shatner had Lithuanian ancestry. And BTW, Hermann Minkowski was also born in Lithuania (then occupied by Russia - yes, that damn country was always capable of just this one thing).
Fabulous interview, I would say it was a shame I didn't get to learn about Shatner's origins but the physics questions are so fascinating to me that it didn't matter! Plus it, was a physics discussion on my level. Thank you both xx
What an amazing conversation, thank you for your sacrifices to our planet both of have made your entire lives. I grew up on things like Star Trek. These are the foundations of my geekdom and curiosity to ask big questions. Great Conversation, casual, but very informative and inspirational indeed!
Kirk is such a delight, and his amiable and somewhat blitheful responses make me feel so optimistic about life. William Shatner is a true delight. Lawrence was a monthly writer for Scientific American and each month my subscription fun was to read his article first, and I subscribed from 1975 to 2014,then changed to AAAS Science weekly mag, big change there. Thanks Lorrie for your articles and youtube videos Origins and the other series.too before the fraud of accusations of assault? Had to be a misunderstanding same as Assange discrediting so easily accepted by Feminists for heavens' sake, too. Thanks you two.
A heart-warming and thoroughly entertaining conversation. We've had the TV show "Picard", but I would much rather see "Kirk" and Shatner seems to be have far more life in him than Stewart...
Right? 23 minutes in with Shat and disbelief is suspended. He's such a well of emotion I'm sure it's both frustrating and fulfilling at the same time. That conflict while tiring creates lasting memories. A good acting class or military training course is like that, constantly bombarding you with problems to solve in their space, not a comfortable space. I doubt people would forget this episode. It's invigorating. Also happy 69 Lawrie.
@56:30 When Krauss says "As is my argument" was a witty reaction to Shatner's incessant asking of new questions before listening to the previous question's explanation.
29:00... Here I am listening to two of my favorite people and find out that both of them have been to and know of my small neck of the world in Northern Quebec/Ontario provincial border line area. Or at least where it is anyway.. lol. I hail from a small mining town called South Porcupine Ont.... It's within two or three hours of "Rouyn" (Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec). Been a few years since I've been back, over twenty anyway....
Reminds me of me having a zoom call with my uni professor 😃 me questioning literally EVERYTHING, my professor then trying to draw the outlines of knowledge but then me coming in again with even more questions in the attempt to burst these outlines and discover new frontiers of knowledge...🚀
Wow I've been watching Shatner since the 70's, I'm a few years younger than Krauss. Bill hardly looks older than me, it's amazing he's over 90. I understand he does a lot of hard work with horses. I'm happy to see Bill here as himself but I don't think I'd want to meet him. He's easily going to top 100, how many more years he gets past that, who the hell knows. Bill's definitely one of the healthier, luckier outliers. Hope you get many more years of entertaining us, Bill. To both Bill and Larry, live long and prosper. Good show, guys.
I wanted to thank you for the years of education, and entertainment. I listen to you like ive listened to Hitch. Not just for enlightenment. We all have unhappy and emotional times in our lives. Listening to you provided a comfortable escape. Your happy upbeat command of the english language and french lol put me in a better place. In a roundabout way believe it or not your a bit like Jordan P. Thank you :)
Lawrence! Finally you interviewed someone who talks almost as much as you. Oh! I forgot about J. Peterson interviewing you. Wow he talked a lot. Great, joyous conversion with Shatner!
lawrence, your interview was actually very productive. here's why - when a brilliant person like you is explaining something, you are looking at the subject from beyond the absolute basics and you don't realize it, shatner was forcing you to explain basics that most people don't know. and from there your explanation will make sense to the novice. also, re. a twitter conversation we had, a have a wee bone to pick with you.
Why is it that Bill doesn't age? Is it that he's stuck in a time space continuum. We may have to ask Q. Thanks for sharing this conversation. Thoroughly enjoyed.

The acquisition of knowledge is the voyage of humanity. - you heard it here first. -- Thank you, Mr. Shatner.
Great conversation. I love William. He’s unique and so thoughtful. Lawrence is wonderfully knowledgeable in science.
In 1996 a little pocketbook called The science of Star Trek (i have it in Dutch so the title could be slightly off) pulled me into this wonderful scientific adventure, this talk feels like its all coming together again :) Really enjoyed it, lots of curiousity and positive energy!
William Shatner is one of those delightful imperfect perfect human beings; great discussion.
That was a hoot! Thank you for sharing that.
This was the coolest conversation I had the pleasure to view
Mr. Shatner votre français est merveilleux... and you have beautiful souvenirs... I also lived on Marcil, beautiful part of town... This podcast is great, bravo
Ex Montrealer here, i did know he speaks French.
Je ne savais pas que il parle francais. Je suis content que il sympathize avec les quebecois
Wonderful .A delight to observe.
A lively and enjoyable conversation. Shatner is very sharp for his age.
Great discussion! I loved this interview, so many great questions and answers.
Wow. One more reason to love William Shatner! Witty, smart and very alert. Never would guess his age today.
Best conversation I have ever been part of, I say part of because that's how I feel..Who needs the paranormal,.when you have physics,.
Thanks you two.
thx
A heart-warming and thoroughly entertaining conversation. We've had the TV show "Picard", but I would much rather see "Kirk" and Shatner seems to be have far more life in him than Stewart...
Shatner's curiosity and mentioning Aristotle signal a deep philosophical attitude toward the world. Philo = love of,
Sophia = wisdom 🎉❤
People are afraid to ask questions because they don't want to look stupid. But asking genuine questions actually makes you look smarter.
dr lawrence always a pleasure to see you and ahaha dhantner is my candian fellow men
Mr Shatner is hilarious , very inclusive. I bet he's great host, I'm sure good times would be had.
Loved this thank you Lawrence and William ♥️♥️♥️
Loved it what a great conversation
@56:30 When Krauss says "As is my argument" was a witty reaction to Shatner's incessant asking of new questions before listening to the previous question's explanation.
Great conversation, and it's hard to believe William Shatner is 92.
What a great intro. Thanks you two. x
Thanks William and Lawrence!
This guy looks great for 92 yrs old ! What ever hes doing sign me up !!.
This is the best thing ive seen in years!!!! BRAVA sirs! BRAVA!
Shatner is great. Good convo and fun.
Gotta say that the start of the video is immaculate and miss clicked to this video by accident.
I have read some Lawrence Krauss so happy accident.
Thank you :)
thank you.
Outstanding Legends!
what a happy double act - fantastic
THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR THIS!
Shatner looks like he will go on forever. All power to him.
Lawrence! Finally you interviewed someone who talks almost as much as you. Oh! I forgot about J. Peterson interviewing you. Wow he talked a lot. Great, joyous conversion with Shatner!
lawrence, your interview was actually very productive. here's why - when a brilliant person like you is explaining something, you are looking at the subject from beyond the absolute basics and you don't realize it, shatner was forcing you to explain basics that most people don't know. and from there your explanation will make sense to the novice.
also, re. a twitter conversation we had, a have a wee bone to pick with you.
thx
Bill Shatner is a total player and an inspiration
Bill S. "Wait. Wait a minute. What the hell...?". lol. Great chat. Only thing missing was the beer.
Thank you. :)
92 years old that's incredible
Who would've thought William Shatner would tease so much out of Lawrence Krauss by playing the boy in the emperors new clothes?. Wonderful!
Both of these guys are two of my heros!
Join us in this episode of inception awake! So much gratitude!!
‘Nothing’ keeps the balance that ‘things’ do not go wrong. Sometimes a part of nothing becomes something.
What'ta a pair of talkers. So witty and intelligent for 69 and 90, years old.
Why is it that Bill doesn't age? Is it that he's stuck in a time space continuum. We may have to ask Q. Thanks for sharing this conversation. Thoroughly enjoyed.
“The acquisition of knowledge is the voyage of humanity.” William Shatner
Great conversation between two Canadian legends. Thanks for getting Billy on the show, Lance. lol 🇨🇦 Cheers from Kitchener, Ontario.
I hope I still look as good and still have as sharp a mind as William Shatner when _I'm_ 92!
Bills new book written by Josh Brandon is fantastic.
Someone should give that young man a show ! Something in space...
He doesn't move like a person in their 90's. A person that old can deteriorate suddenly or keep living for another decade.
What a great conversation
This conversation is really fun.
Such an informative podcast.
William Shatner is 92 years old, unbelievable
This is just superb.
Awesome!! 🎉
What a wonderful way to spend an evening. Is it not a paradox that these two men don't know me at all, but I feel they are part of my family!!
Isn’t friendship amazing. Great talk guys.🤔🥰
Good stuff, thanks for this.
Shatner is an excellent listener, which is the trick to out talking someone who can't stop talking.
hahahaha Lawrence caught Shatner in the "what is nothing" old trap! 😂😂😂
