Best of New York: Watkins Glen & Vicinity

Watkins Glen State Park is a nearly 800 acre park featuring a gorge that’s is 400 feet deep and located at the southern tip of Seneca Lake in New York’s Finger Lakes district. Over the millennia since the area was covered with glaciers, Glen Creek has cut through the soft shale layers to create unique rock formations. The creek passes over 19 waterfalls and under stone bridges within the park.
Buttermilk Falls State Park is about 25 miles from Watkins Glen and also offers trails along a unique gorge system. The video concludes with drone footage over Cayuga Lake near Ithaca New York and Taughannock Falls State Park.
